So just giving a review to help those staying across from this location. Mixed reviews for two visits. First night we went and had burritos and carne asada. The burritos were good. the steak (very thin skirt) was good. The rice and beans were awful. I ended ordering a salad. But we left feeling we had an ok dinner. Next time we went it was so disappointing. We ordered fajitas and a quesadilla. The fajitas were uneatable. The steak was chewy and bland. There was a sauce over the fajitas vegetables and shrimp/steak (which prob was precooked and just heated) was not good. Just couldn't eat it. The shrimp were bland too. So disappointed. The rice tasted as if they make it early in day and just reheated it as they go. It was dry and flavorless. The fajitas were not sizzling as I am Used to and did not have the charred taste of being freshly cooked. The waiter that served us the second time wasn't very friendly and forgot our app. The waitress had the first time was lovely and prob why we went back. So what I will say. If you are hungry need to eat something and don't feel Like driving, you can Go here and just expect bland food. Stay away from fajitas and maybe ask if the food is being freshly made or re-heated. Or go for apps and drinks and enjoy the River. There are limited choices in the area but we found other places that were fabulous for the rest of our 9 day stay in that area. read more

Restaurant was not busy, we wanted a table on the outside patio section. Server said it would be a 2 minute wait so he could prepare a spot for us. A bunch of people came in and got seated because they wanted indoor which was understandable. After 20mins server came out and got a couple which came after us and gave them an outside patio table. We confronted the server about it and he said it was because we was a party of 3, my wife, son and myself. Shouldn't the server prepared our table before they sat down the couple that came after us? We spent a long day in Yellowstone, we was hungry and this spoiled our dinner. read more

We ordered online and the order had many mistakes. We asked for no onions and cilantro and both were on the tacos. One combination plate was missing an enchilada. We called the restaurant and requested a refund on the missing item. They told us the manager would need to call us to make the refund. We never heard from them. Visited this place on our way out of YNP to SLC. Wish, we had discovered it bit earlier. We loved this place, place was clean, services was great, and food.... was excellent!. If you've spicy taste buds like we do, and love Mexican food, then you've gotta visit this place. Their hot-hot sauce was awesome! read more

We wanted to get away from all the busyness at West Yellowstone for an evening. We came here and sat outside along the river. The food was excellent and the service was great. Best steak and shrimp tacos I've had in a very long time. The prices are much cheaper then anything in West Yellowstone. My husband and I both had taco dinners with a generous amount of rice and beans and he had a tall beer. Less then $30. It's a deal!!! read more

Great food at reasonable prices with a nice river view near Yellowstone. Our family has now made it a habit to come here whenever we make it to Yellowstone. The staff is excellent (especially Freddy) and the food is fantastic and reasonably priced. They have specials every day, except Sunday and a full bar. I had the sweet pork burrito supreme which was excellent, and my girls had the fajitas. Definitely better food and a better deal than what I have found in west Yellowstone. read more

Stayed across the river at SpringHill Suites and decided to walk on over not expecting anything grandiose lol, but was happily surprised. The chips were so so but I had the appetizer of ceviche and my hubby had mango shrimp- both were delicious! My picky kids had the tacos and actually liked them, which was a plus. This is a very good choice if in the Island Park area! We went for dinner with a large group & were seated very quickly (another large group had just left & the table was quickly cleaned & set up for us). Service was friendly & fairly quick. Chips & salsa came out right away as we looked over the menu. The salsa here is good! We had a wide variety of entrees & all of enjoyed what we ordered. I'd describe the food as fairly typical options at a Mexican restaurant--fajitas, tacos, burritos, etc. Lots of choices to make everyone happy. read more

I went to sit at the bar one time and was completely ignored. The European who can't coming behind and making eye contact was chatting with her comrade and getting him the things he needed. I was almost tempted (as a bar person) to jump behind there and pull the beer myself. I never got a chance to taste the food as our euro buddy didn't give me a chance. I'm not sure how this place is so busy. It's not the cleanest, the blinds and window ledges are dirty. The food is mediocre and our service was awful. We had to ask three times for silverware after food, waitress and I believe it was the manager were not friendly and we really felt like our being there was an inconvenience to them. Not to mention they need the definition of social distancing because it wasn't happening at all. We won't go back. read more

The options in Island Park are very slim, especially in the winter. That being said, I was very pleased with our visit. My bean and cheese burrito was delicious and had melted cheese on top. The location is right on the water and walking distance to Mack's Inn area. Prices were average. Would recommend. read more

Dining area was ok, the service and food were terrible. We were a party of 6, when the food came out it was two at a time but one person didn't receive his. When I finally was able to flag someone down they acted confused and conversed in Spanish and kept looking at us. The plate was brought out after a few minutes and it looked thrown together. My food was terrible, the worst so called Mexican I have ever had. The enchiladas I ordered were soaked in a sweet flavored sauce, no chili powder or smoke flavor, the sauce was orange. The beans were runny enough to use a spoon finally the rice was bland and dry even crunchy. I owned a Mexican restaurant back in the 90's and know this stuff was thrown together. Last straw was the server being told my wife and I needed our drinks refilled, twice yet it never happened. Thus is outside of Yellowstone so not many options. But do yourself a favor and pass this by. read more

If you have other options, go there instead. We were in the area visiting and passing through. We were starving and saw they were packed, but checked on the wait. They told us 10 minutes, so we decided to wait. While waiting we saw people come in and be seated. After about 20 minutes, I chimed in. They finally sat our party of four down. We waited for about 15 minutes when we got some chips and salsa. The chips were stale and tasted like they had been sitting around awhile. We then watched as tables that were just sat down were waited upon. My better half went to go speak to a manager, but I decided to abandon ship before it got worse. Delicious!! We went to Cafe Sabor one night and we are so glad we did! The fresh Guacamole and queso were amazing! We had street tacos and one of the combination plates and were extremely happy! I never leave reviews but I felt that this place for sure deserved one! We will definitely be back to eat there while on our trip to Yellowstone! read more

We ate here on Friday, October 1, 2021. The restaurant was very crowded and we had to wait a bit for our table. All of the staff were very hard-working, attentive, and friendly. Our food was excellent. I had the Carne Asada and my wife had a burrito. Our waiter Keehan was awesome. Drinks were great and portions were big. Definitely recommend. Started out with a 45 minute wait to get in. Apparently it was recently renovated and it looked very clean and modern. Smelled great, too. Chips were delivered to the table as expected but it was obvious they used old oil; the chips smelled and had an odd taste. 30 minutes after ordering the food still had not arrived. The waitress was very apologetic and said it would be another 15 minutes. That was fine they were busy. Waiting another 20 minutes and still no food. We thought as long as the food was good it would be okay. Another 20 minutes and our patience was wearing thin. She said it would be another 25 minutes at least. Fortunately the food arrived with 15 minutes after that. It looked good but after cutting into the middle of it all of our meals were cold. After over two hours we packed up our meals to be properly heated at our place and it was average at best. I would not recommend. read more

My wife, Lynne, and had dinner here last night with friends, Sharon & Jeff Davis, and had a great server and great meals. The entire staff was friendly and very helpful. We all had something different from the many choices on the menus and everyone of our meals were excellent and very authentic.
