This is a cozy and romantic place. Good place to take your honey or date. Plenty of ample seating, long tables and comfy booths for small groups. If you're looking for pretty floral arrangements or plants, in the back of their restaurant, they sell flowers and plants. The drinks are good and the food was decent. I ordered spicy rice cake - it was spicy but a bit on the sweet side, but I didn't care for cheese or pumpkin in it. Their spicy seafood pasta is good. I loved cafe scent even before i learned how to drive to go there on my own. I don't know why I never wrote any reviews ! Anyways they're food choices are great. I saw some people complaining about their food choices.. well it is a cafe rofl !!! They have so many different drink choices. Plus, one tip I have for people is that if they have so many food choices, you should avoid it because some ingredients might be old ? I forgot the real reason rofl . DON'T GET: Green tea affogato The green tea affogato is so stupid!! It's green tea poured over green tea ice cream... Giving you... Melted green tea ice cream!!! We came here hoping to try some "korean toast." We definitely tried the toast, and the fruit slush.. both were really good (we ate everything). They have a very fine ice on the shaving, which was very melt-in-your-mouth good. My friends also got a mango smoothie and an Oreo smoothie, and the bf got a cafe mocha. From what I've heard, the Oreo smoothie was the best Oreo smoothie that my friend had ever had. Dessert: 3/5, Price: 4/5, Atmosphere: 4/5 I always passed by this cafe wanting to come because it just looked really nice and I finally got my chance a couple of days ago! Cafe Scent doesn't really feel like a cafe because of its interior. With that in mind, I wouldn't come here to study. It feels more like a restaurant, but I found it to be a chill place to hang with friends and enjoy some dessert. I do have to say that the seats are very comfortable and there was plenty of seats available when we came. We didn't park there, but I'm assuming that they have a lot somewhere because the waiter asked me if I need validation while giving me the check. With the nice interior, I was expecting the dessert to be really good. I can't say anything about the food that they offer, but let me tell you some things about their Korean shaved ice. For one, it's the traditional style and we got the one with green tea ice cream. It came out to be around $22 including tip for 4 people, it was more than enough. I wasn't too impressed with the shaved ice as the only real flavor that I could taste was from the green tea ice cream. I do have to say that it was quite refreshing especially during this hot summer! Although the quality of the Korean shaved ice wasn't anything amazing, I really liked it for its price and just being inside the cafe was a pleasant experience. Last month, I decided to have a flower lesson with my friend just for fun. I was always interested in floral arrangement lesson, and the florist, Hyunjoo, provided an amazing guidance throughout the lesson. She offered a complimentary coffee, which was delicious, and she started off going over the basics such as introducing flowers, what oasis is, what conditioning is, etc. The session lasted for about two hours, and we got to create a trendy centerpiece, which was instagram-worthy quality! At first, the lesson fee may seem expensive, but trust me, you will realize it is not the case once you see your outcome!!! Food quality was also impressive for the amount of dish choices they had. The seafood pasta had just enough spice to not be unpleasant and was very filling. The honey bread dish was much better than i anticipated being what appeared to be very sweet french toast included with fruit slices and whipped cream. A hidden gem! Well I don't know how hidden this is but I was surprised to visit on the weekend without many people there during lunch hours. Really delicious and unique korean fusion items (hamburger steak has a great herbaceous basil flavor in the sauce, the tteokkbokki with seafood and acorn squash is to die for) and delicious lattes. It's a pretty chill ambiance and a little dark inside but not bad at all. Tons of outdoor seating too if you want to listen to some of the drumming practice across the way on weekends. Definitely a must in my opinion and it looks like they host events and have flowers as well. I will definitely be coming back frequently. read more

Truly unique menu and food options. A must try! My fiancé ordered chicken burrito that was above most other normal burritos he has had. I ordered rice cake with sweet pumpkin.. its rare to find pumpkin dishes and then to have it be so delicious. I wish I lived local i'd be back over and over to try everything. The fact that they have parking in kTown warrants a full star. 3 hour validated parking (for 35 cents) in their parking garage, which you can enter on Serrano. I think there are 2 entrances, one for monthly and one for visitors, so make sure you go into the right one. Just like the parking garage, they have 2 doors to their cafe. Maybe it's a concept. You can only go through one, so find that one and enter. However, they have tables and booths on both sides, so if one's full, check out the other side. I think their food is better than their drinks. I've had the Quesadilla and Seafood Cream Pasta, and both were great. Portions are big, so I always take home leftovers. Quesadilla comes with 8 big slices, and Pasta came with 2 garlic breads. For drinks, I've had the Pineapple Dream tea, which is a little tart, so I needed honey; I also ordered the Kiwi Mojito, which was made from syrup, so I didn't like it too much. It was more like an Italian soda. They don't mind if you stay and study, so I think I've found my new study/lunch spot. Parking + good food + comfortable booths to study = go away, this is my spot! (-_-) Possible cons: there always seems to be a good number of people meeting for things, so it's not exactly quiet. If you're looking for a very quiet cafe, Scent is NOT for you. Take your date here and have some dinner, coffee/tea, and dessert and buy a flower from their flower shop in the middle of the store. When you're walking by, you'll know it because there are plants outside. It's an elegant cafe, but pretty laid back so you don't need to dress up unless there's an occasion for it. For me, I study here during the day. It gets louder in the afternoons and you can't study here in the evenings because it's so dim and louder. My first visit was on 4/28/2012 and I was studying there for six hours or so and had breakfast and lunch there. They specialize in coffee and tea drinks and they serve Korean and Japanese food. They have early bird specials and an assortment of breakfast. I've tried a waffle and house coffee and it was about $7.95 if I recall. The waffle had vanilla ice cream on top, whipped cream, sweetened condensed milk, maple syrup, and fresh fruit and it was delicious. The house coffee comes with refills when you're in the cafe and they kept it coming the entire time I was there. At some point I tried the seafood dukbokki and it had diced red and green bell peppers, fish cakes, mushroom, 2 muscles, calamari, shrimp, cheese mozzarella, and a small squash cut into fourths. I've tried their fried rice and meatloaf at some point. The food I'd say is alright and I do enjoy it sometimes. When I'm studying, it's convenient. The drinks are typical to K-Town cafes as far as price goes. They do have a good selection of teas and coffees, among others. I've been to so many cafes in the area that I don't think anything here stands out. The music depends on the time of day, the staff, and the requests and they play K-Pop sometimes. There's a lot of seating since it's kind of like having two stores plus the flower shop in the middle and there's also patio seating. I haven't bought a flower yet, but it's nice to know it's there! The service is good when you can get their attention with the call buttons. For studying, they have free Wi-Fi and I don't have a lot of issues there. There's a good amount of power outlets if you know where to look. There's only a couple of wall space for it. There are long communal tables in the middle of either side of the restaurant and the outlets are on one side of the table. That's actually the best seating to study unless more people come and crowd it. Even with the many light fixtures in this seating, it is more for show than it is to help you see, so it's pretty dim in the cafe. Overall, it's a good to study for a little bit as long as it doesn't feel busy and they have food, snacks, desserts, and drinks. So for me, I don't go to Café Scent to eat or to drink. I go here to study or hang out with friends and it's a good place for that. I do enjoy their drinks and their food even though neither stands out for me. Cafe Scent has become one of my go-to Korean cafes in ktown. One of my friends was back in town tonight for less than 24 hrs, and the first thing that I could think of that was open late at night was this place. I was able to find street parking again, and had no problem snagging one of the booths. This time I decided to try their dukbokki after hearing how good it was from some friends. I had tried the dukbokki with seafood and squash before, but not the original way. This was one of the best dukbooki I've ever had. The duk was so soft and chewy, just how I like them. I don't like it when the rice cake is too firm and hard to bite into. It was cooked perfectly with the right amount of spice. Plus, there were pretty big pieces of fish cake and a hard boiled egg. There were also sesame seeds, green onions, and pepper pieces sprinkled throughout, which added some enhancements to the flavor. My friend also ordered a mango smoothie, which I got to try. This was also very good with a refreshing and true mango taste. I hate it when smoothies taste like artificial fruit or too much of a syrupy taste. Overall, Cafe Scent has proven to have quality all around in their drinks, food, and dessert. Service was also very friendly, even to non-Korean speaking patrons. read more

I love their "honey bread" I order it every single time I go there! We parked right at the front of the store. There's a parking meter but we were told that it's free late at night (after 6PM I think). They have two separate seating areas. One is the flower-shop area and the other is the cafe. Went there on a late December evening after a girls-night-out at Pasadena last year so their holiday decor was up. Beautiful crystal snowflakes and white puffballs hung from the ceiling of the flower-shop area followed by spring colored blooms in vases. There was a lot of loveseats too and little tables for couples. Lovely simple decor on their cafe area. They have some pretty light fixtures and floral-decor up on the walls. They have comfy U-shaped booths that are good for groups and also outside seating. Both areas have a long wooden table btw. We sat at the cafe area. Obviously we ordered the "honey bread" and as always it's sweet and yummy! Warm buttery bread, cold ice-cream with fruits and nut toppings! We also ordered tea. Compared to other places their teas are not as sweet but this is most likely because most of their patrons order the honey bread with tea or coffee. The staff were attentive and polite. They also patiently waited for us to settle-down and order. After eating loads of honey bread, chit-chatting and drinking tea; we asked if we could take pics at the flower-shop area and they let us so it was pretty fun. Went here before with a guy friend and the moment I walked in I was given a surprise bouquet (the guy friend I was with arranged it with them). Flowers + Cafe (Honey Bread) = some kind of storybook romance XD Anyway, girls would definitely love this place. Prices are the same as the other cafes in Ktown. Drinks are around $4-$6. Conveniently located in Koreatown (Serrano and Wilshire), parking is pretty easy to find on the street or you can park in the garage (the one Aroma patrons use). Inside, the place is littered with flowers (some fake, some real) because right next door is their flower shop. The half-circle seating is lined with fur, and there are areas where a bigger group can be accommodated. I really love the ambiance; it gives off a very rich and warm vibe. The food: Their drinks are fair but overpriced. Well, this place, in general, is overpriced. I've tried their croissant (dry and hard), their seafood rice platter (delicious but WAYYY too spicy - I needed jugsss of water), and their ham sandwiches (pictured) - which are very flavorful. I actually really enjoyed these sandwiches. The people who work here aren't friendly but they're pretty attentive. All in all, order their seafood rice dish but prepared to feel your tongue burn! and also order the ham sandwiches. But do not order their pastry or coffee. I also saw some other patrons order other dishes that looked delicious; I will probably try those out next time. I recommend this place if you want somewhere cute to dine on pretty decent food. It really puts the ambiance at a different level than other cafes in Ktown. They've got booths all around with regular table and chair seating, as well. The food is exceptional. Rating is more 3.5 than 3 A cute dainty cafe right across the street from the Los Angeles public library (Pio Pico branch). Finished ortho visit early that morning, so parked my car in the Aroma parking lot (the cafe is part of the building) and walked over to grab some breakfast/coffee. Felt like Alice Through the Looking Glass as soon as I stepped through the door. The noisy, busy streets of LA transformed into a world of Vivaldi, beautiful floral arrangements, and U-shaped booths made of soft, velvety material (felt like sitting against one of those velvet teddy bears). With giant booths and the long wooden table to the right of entrance, place seems great for meetings/group study. Ordered the Egg Salad Sandwich+House Coffee ($5.95) from the Breakfast Sandwich Special (served 7:00-11:00AM). The sandwich was ok, nothing so special it is worth $6. But with the free wifi and 3 hours parking w/validation, I guess the price must be paid with overpriced food. Will be back though if in need of quiet sanctuary of free parking and wifi. read more

It's actually a beautiful flower shop + cafe. They have a wonderful Rose tea. The pot itself is very interesting. You pick up the pot and press it down on the top of your cup to release the tea. It's a very cool "oOooOoh" moment. Not a great selection on cakes. But I did try their Kabocha Rice Cake dish. Not bad at all. I went here with friends in search for a new cafe in Ktown. Although outside did not look as lovely, inside was definitely cute & I loved the atmosphere as soon we I walked in! I think 2nd part was actually cuter but there was no seats left so we resorted to 1st part by the comfortable sofas. I also liked that there were big tables for people to come study/work. Since they didn't have a bell, it was somewhat hard to get the servers' attention, especially because we were there somewhat late at night & they were not very attentive. Overall, the menu was extensive & there were many items I was curious on trying but these are what we ordered: -PUMPKIN SHAVED ICE - The name already got my attention so after asking the server what they recommended between pumpkin shaved ice vs. shaved ice, I ended up ordering pumpkin shaved ice... The verdict? it was just mashed pumpkin salad + shaved ice + red bean + condensed milk..........so nothing special, but since it was definitely interesting & I think older generation or pumpkin lovers might really enjoy this!
