I was in the mood for PHO at 6am.... Thank goodness there was this place which opens at 7:30am. !! Service was super. Pho was so tasty.. broth was a bit salty but who's complaining, it really hit the spot. I also ordered 3 Vietnamese paté chaud, can't wait to taste it I'm sure it'll be delicious.. definitely will return.

Excellent food, the Banh mi sandwiches are really tasty. The Vietnamese coffee is also really good. The staff is friendly and fast and the restaurant is relatively clean. Also love the fact that a group of older gentlemen get together everyday and have a pow wow daily!

I really like this place! The decor reminds me of a restaurant I'd find in Saigon. It's not quite on point with the banh mi from Saigon or even SoCal, but it's pretty good! Service has been good for me with workers who speak both Vietnamese and English. Tables are typically pretty clean and they have wi-fi! I do wish that their hours were a little later though, so I could really study here. Half the restaurant looks like they are still remodeling and the other other half is pretty spaced out. The banh mi ($3.50) sandwiches are pretty basic but made to order! There's a good variety of options to choose from. They charge extra for pate (unless it's already part of the sandwich, i.e. combination/dac biet). I've tried the egg banh mi with pate and the combination banh mi--of the two, Jenney and I both preferred the combination by a long shot. The Vietnamese coffee (small, $2.80) here is STRONG! It's sweet yet bitter and has a roasted nutty taste. It's good but probably out of my caffeine level and believe me, I can usually handle a LOT of caffeine. I can see this being more along the preference of people who love authentic Vietnamese coffee that's dark dark dark, especially my dad. Overall, I liked this place and will be back! Happy eatings! Tip 1: If you are going on a road trip, stop by here to get banh mi for the road! It makes the best road trip food! Tip 2: Pate cost extra! Tip 3: There's wi-fi! Bring your studies and buddies, my fellow scholars!

After a group meeting, I had the choice to go to my internship early and be miserable or go eat breakfast alone. The decision was a pretty tough one. Yeah no not really. If there is one lesson from reading my post today is that food always wins. Thao Mi was here before the banh mi scene took Utah over by storm. Before you walk in you will see Vietnamese people smoking outside, when you plug your nose and walk through the doors, you will hear vietnamese music playing, vietnamese people chatting away, and vietnamese people drinking their vietnamese coffee, which by the way is made the right way (more bitter than sweet). This scene is one that resembles the culture that you will find if you were in The country of Vietnam yourself at a cafe. No one is in a rush, it's about doing everything when you are doing nothing. Now onto the food, the owner started making her own housemade baguettes a month ago. The baguettes were store bought before and wasn't too bad but the quality of the bread now, bumps this banh mi shop to a class of it own. If you are a CARB LOVER come here for the bread. Today I had a deconstructed banh mi trung op la (sunnyside eggs with liver pate). Seriously the lightest, flakiest, most remarkable carb ever with the combination of silky egg yolk on top of the fattiness and rich pate. If you are not a banh mi fan, they have tons of other housemade traditional Vietnamese snacks that are displayed at the cashier counter. This place doesn't make it to 5 stars due to the smell of the smoke that sometimes sneaks through the door and it's unreasonable cold inside the shop today. -Sailor out

Place was really packed for breakfast, it is too bad the Pho tasted so greasy and was flavorless as I was really craving it and Pho Hoa wasn't open that early. Their Banh Mi was decent, had a lot of bread and very little meat. I love Oh Mai's sandwiches the best as they gut the bread and remove the excess so they can stack more meat and veggies in it. The chicken rice didn't taste very fresh, it was if they cooked the chicken a day before and just heated it up in the microwave. Not sure I would go back.

Bahn Mi for $4.75 that's tastes right! That's why I come here, the food is outstanding and it's at the price I have used to paying. During Covid, you have to pick your food up so call ahead. I love Vietnamese food made by a little older lady behind the counter.

Pho dac biet about $8. Large portion, delicious soup base. A+

I'm Vietnamese and this is the best Banh mi I have ever had! Fantastic and friendly customer service Clean and nice place Super delicious banh mi. As a Vietnamese I have had many banh mi in my lifetime...this is probably the best I have had. Try the grilled chicken banh mi $3.50...you will not be disappointed. Pho dac biet was also very good...tasted homemade and I tasted real pho flavor and not msg. Portion was large For snacks, try their banh tieu and pate chaud They also sell sugar cane juice All pastries and items are made fresh in house I am so glad we found this place and will definitely be back!!!

Want something other then eggs, pancakes or any western breakfast food in the morning? This is your go to place for delicious fresh vietnamese food for breakfast. Banh mi's, noodles, and rice dishes are made to order. Prices changed, 4.50 for a bang mi. In the past I had issues with the quality of the food, but since the owner, Thao, is mostly there now in the morning, everything I've ordered since is delicious. Shes the ultimate sandwich maker! Coffees are good, strong, but good. My favorite is her peanut sauce for her spring rolls. No one can beat her peanut sauce!

I'm a fan of this place. However, the quality of their Banh Mi can vary depending on the day and time of day. It can range from good to mind-blowing awesome. At the end of the day, expect the bread to be not as fresh. Of the banh mi options: - Tofu is a little bland (wish there was some lemon grass...like Lee's sandwhiches in CA) - Egg = spectacular - Grilled chicken = also spectacular Their breads are very tasty and flaky. They have a special sauce that tastes really good (I'm afraid to ask what's it's made of). Sometimes it tastes a little lemon grassy. Overall, a great place for lunch. I wish their drinks would be a little less expensive because I definitely would try one if it were less than $3.

Ga Nuong Bahn Mi (BBQ Chicken)

Picture says more than I could. If you want value for your money, do not come here. This is what $4.65 will get. Twice I bought a sandwich that looks like this. I hate that I'm writing this, but people should know what they are in for if they go here.

Wonderful meal in a lively environment! I'm often afraid to branch out to new restaurants to try…read more my favorite staples, but I'm so glad I tried La Cai's pho. When the meal arrived, I was hit with a wall of aromatics. The broth was perfect after I added the provided chili and hoisin. My only qualm--I ordered rare beef, but the broth was so so hot, the meat was already cooked when the soup arrived. But it was still delicious! Excited to try more in the future.

Disappointing Experience - Food Quality & Service…read more I've been to Mi La Cai Noodle House before, but unfortunately, my most recent experience was very disappointing. I ordered the wonton soup, and the pork wontons did not taste right to me. I let the gentleman who was helping us know about the issue, and he told me, "Let me see with my manager what I can do for you." To be clear, I wasn't asking them to take the soup off my bill or give me anything for free. I simply wanted to see if they could provide a little more meat so I could finish my bowl. I thought that was a reasonable request, especially since I had already explained that the pork wontons didn't taste right. Unfortunately, the gentleman never came back to our table, and the manager never stopped by or spoke with us at all. We ended up paying the full bill, and no one even apologized or offered any kind of resolution. When the host later asked how everything was, I explained that the wonton soup wasn't as good as I expected. She simply said, "Oh, sorry." While I understand that mistakes happen, it felt like a very dismissive response, especially after we had already brought the issue to their attention. I honestly feel like the food quality at this restaurant has gone downhill. What disappointed me even more was the lack of customer service and follow-through. If a customer takes the time to politely bring up an issue, I would expect someone from management to at least come to the table and address it. Unfortunately, after this experience, I won't be coming back. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously because I used to have a much better impression of the food and service.
