Cafe The Scoop is such a cute and fun cafe! I tried the strawberry matcha and my husband got a hojicha einspanner. Both were extremely smooth and delicious! The strawberry matcha was definitely on the sweet side but I do love the strawberry compote they used. My partner wasn't 100% sure what they wanted to get and asked the kind barista what their suggestion was. It worked out so well! They also have pudding that looked delicious and I will definitely be going back to try one!
Matcha was creamy and earthy, perfect sweetness ratio. Came on a Sunday morning, line was a bit long but service was quick.
Cafe The Scoop is an awesome Korean-inspired cafe in the LB area. This spot is located in a plaza with a decent amount of parking spots with additional street parking available as well. Inside, they have a cozy and modern interior with a solid amount of seating. Wifey and I opted for a Banana Pudding and a Banana Matcha. We ended up mixing them together which created a fire combo! All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. Definitely stop by and grab a drink if you are ever in the LB area.
This is one of the best banana matchas I've had, and I like them very sweet and creamy. I got the banana matchas latte as an einspanner (for additional charge) and it was delicious, creamy and very sweet. I wish they mixed the banana a bit more because there's usually a lot stuck at the bottom. The main downside is its size, it's very little matcha for a pretty high price too. I came in the morning so it was no issue finding a spot but with the small parking lot I could imagine it gets trickier later in the day. There is a restroom inside and plenty of tables where people study.
Overall, solid matcha place. Parking lot is not large but I found a space. The space is smaller than expected compared to the online videos and A/C wasn't as strong, so I would take off a star for that but the service was quick, ordering was easy, very clean space, amazing house-made fruit syrups. Strawberry matcha latte (with soy milk - $0.50 extra for alternative milk) was $9 and they don't charge tax. The syrup is phenomenal and clearly made in house - quite sweet but mixes very well with the latte itself. You can taste the actual strawberry bits. Eispanner drinks seem popular and they do have seasonal menu with a good selection of pastries on display.
I'm sometimes hesitant to get matcha when I try a new cafe, but safe to say they get it right here in my opinion. The matcha was perfectly balanced and you can tell it was quality ceremonial grade (if you care about that)! I got the mango matcha which is a summer special and it was soooo good and refreshing! I want to try their coffee next time, but I need to keep getting my mango fix before they change their specials. There are also a few tables and seating if you need to do any work.
Cafe the scoop is one of my favorite places! The AC is so AMAZING (seriously one of the best), and the cafe is always clean with a cute, aesthetic vibe. it's on the smaller side, but the layout is good with 3 larger tables that have outlets nearby, 2 smaller tables, and bar stool seating in the center. Parking is convenient too, there a small lot in front and I've always been able to find a spot. The workers are super friendly, and even when there's a rush, they do a great job getting orders out quickly. I've tried both the mango matcha and the aloha matcha (pineapple), and the aloha matcha is easily my favorite. A little sad that they're seasonal. Their banana pudding is also so delicious! It can get a bit busy at times because it's a popular study spot, but it's worth the visit. I always look forward to coming back!
BEST MATCHA EVER !!!!!!!!!! look at that green i can def tell they use high quality ceremonial matcha. i think it's better than the popular ones in la... its just so perfect. not too sweet or watery either. i drive down here from la for their matcha and puddings. they told me their cheong is homemade and with no artificial. it's soooo good! bought a few and ate it with my yogurt their customer service is amazing too! super sweet and friendly staff - especially june and reina! would def recommend cafe the scoop to everyone. also theyre very laptop friendly (wifi and outlets available) and have abundance of parking available (lot and street)
I love finding new places around town! This one was on a pure whim and the only one in the area that fit my search criteria. With good ratings and a nice location across from a high school, I figured I couldn't go wrong. Choosing a beverage proved to be harder than I thought. After a short discussion with the employee taking my order, the recommendation of Pumpkin chai latte sounded best. My order was to go and unfortunately, I didn't try it before I left. At first sip about a mile away, I realized it really lacked flavor. I could barely taste the pumpkin and it tasted like lightly flavored melted ice. Very interesting take on a Pumpkin Chai Latte when neither the pumpkin, chai or milk flavor stood out. The inside was very busy with lots of people working or just hanging out. There were a couple tables outside as well. The location caters to the school across the street an the surrounding neighborhoods of which there is no close competition. Service was fast. Parking was ok at the time I stopped in, but the lot is small overall for all the businesses that share it. With LB loaded with similar businesses, I won't be running back here for beverages...maybe the banana pudding I saw in the refrigerator. Now that's something I might be able to get behind.
This cafe has a cute laid-back energy that makes it easy to settle into and enjoy your drink, catching up with friends. There are also little touches of charm throughout the space from the decor to the merchandise on display. The space itself is on the small side therefore seating can be limited during busier times. Ordered the following: - Hojicha Einspanner - Matcha Einspänner - Matcha Latte The Einspanners were really enjoyable - the cream on top added a smooth, slightly sweet layer that balanced well with the roasted hojicha and earthy matcha. The Matcha Latte itself was well made - not too sweet. Overall, a good spot to try matcha and hojicha as well as their other drinks! Which I would like to come back and try!
We got the scoop latte and matcha einspanner. We enjoyed both drinks at 25 percent sweet. I thought matcha was a little light for me and the cream was good. I love matcha but I found myself liking the scoop latte more. The scoop latte had a good balance of sweet and espresso at 25 percent sweet, and the cookie added a nice touch for those who like sweet. Cookie was buttery, flaky, and mixed well with the cream. I would come back for the scoop latte.
I've been looking for a new cute cafe spot in Long Beach to enjoy some coffee and chill and this was a good spot to go to if you're in the area. I read a few reviews how it's spacious, however I found it to be smaller than I thought. Because of busy it was for a Friday morning, seating was limited as most people were there studying/working or socializing. Staff were very nice and friendly and worked quickly despite the rush. I ordered an iced banana latte and it was good! I would say it was more a hint of banana. I also tried their chocolate croissant which was a good size for breakfast and was perfectly toasted. Most people come here for their matcha so I'd have to give that a try next time. While there is a parking lot, parking was a bit challenging as this coffee shop is in the same lot as a lot of other businesses.
Cute little spot to catch up with a friend! We went with the cashier's recommendations: Banana Matcha Latte & Strawberry Matcha. The matcha was surprisingly dark and thick, but craaazy sweet! I definitely gotta ask for reduced sweetness next time. When I come back, I might try their Banana Latte instead :)
I usually stick to black coffees but when I want something sweeter, I come here! The lattes are delicious and I love the cold foam that they add on top. New favorite matcha spot! So many options and so yummy. Inside is clean with some seating if you wanna hangout with friends or work on your computer. They have pastries but they usually run out by 12pm. They also have banana pudding (matcha, oreo, strawberry & regular). Their matcha is authentic and not too street- just how I like it. Service is friendly and fast despite the buzz of people. Have been coming back regularly and this spot is definitely consistent across all three! read more

Parking was surprisingly easy when I stopped by, which is always a win. I can see it getting a little tougher on a busy day, but for my visit it could not have been smoother. Walking inside, the café immediately gave off a cozy and cute vibe. It felt warm, inviting, and like the kind of place you would actually want to sit and stay for a while. The atmosphere really added to the experience. The staff deserves a shoutout too. The cashier was one of the friendliest people I have ever come across in a café. That genuine friendliness set the tone and made the visit feel extra welcoming. And finally, the drink itself. The latte was incredibly fresh and probably the freshest I have had. I went with caramel, which gave a slightly burnt flavor, but that was on me. Next time I will try the straight vanilla, which I am sure will be perfect. Drinks here aren't cheap, closer to the standard 6-7 bucks (the one-dollar sign on this page is a little misleading), but the ambience is pleasant and the drinks are good! The banana latte tastes a little artificial (I prefer the one at Da Vien), but the strawberry latte is delicious and has chunks of actual strawberry in it. It seems to be a popular study spot, but there are only a few tables, so best to get here early. read more
Super welcoming and friendly staff!!!! Every single employee was so nice!!!! Good vibes for sure!!! Packed on a Tuesday morning and I totally get why. The strawberry matcha latte is amazing!!!! I'm picky about my matcha and it's incredible. The color is beautiful and it was very enjoyable. Parking is a bit of a pain. There is a parking lot, but it was pretty full and the one or two parking spots that were available, were tight. I just opted to park on the street. My sisters said this shop is the more popular ones nowadays because it's one of the only Korean-esque ones in Long Beach. I got the strawberry matcha latte. Very tasty drink! The strawberry puree tastes super fresh :) I saw they sell the strawberry puree on its own. A huge jar for $19! The workers there all seem very nice and cheery. It was pretty bustling when I dropped by Saturday afternoon. Sunday morning around 10am was more chill but still had a good amount of people. read more

My friend recommended this place to me and it did not disappoint! I got the Strawberry Matcha Latte and it was one of my favs. I love a strawberry matcha that has strawberry puree instead of a strawberry syrup or milk and this had strawberry puree. The presentation of the drink is pretty, and I was told to mix it well before drinking. I will say the straws are not the greatest to mix this drink unless you got a boba straw then it'll mix better. I loved the sweetness to this drink, I think it's the perfect amount, not bitter and not too sweet. I would love to try the Matcha Einspānner or Scoop Latte next time I'm here. I visited on Saturday around noon and the parking lot is small so beware of the time you visit. The wait time in the Cafe was so quick, no line, the cashier was so friendly and my drink came out in less than 3mins. This is a cute lil spot to study or go with friends and chat. I do wish there were more seating but I was expecting it to be full anyways for a Saturday. read more

I understand and now support the hype! This place is so good. From the friendly staff to the amazing drinks. I went on a Friday morning and I managed to squeeze my way into the tiny parking lot that is shared with the other businesses. There is plenty of different seating inside and they have lots to offer on the menu. I ordered the Banana Latte and jalapeño bagel and both were so good! If you love bananas, you will love the Banana Latte (not to be confused with a Banana Matcha Latte). I will definitely be returning! *There was a little mishap during my visit but someone (I think the owner) personally reached out to me and took care of it. I think that speaks volume on a business to care about their customers and make things right. Thank you! read more
Found this place on Yelp and decided to check it out! It's located in a small plaza with a parking lot. We came on a Saturday morning and the cafe was pretty busy. There's lots of seating and tables inside but it was so busy that we couldn't find a seat at first. We tried the Scoop Latte ($7) and Matcha Einspanner ($8). The scoop latte comes with a heart-shaped croissant cookie which paired well with the drink. Both drinks had good flavor but were wayyy too sweet in my opinion. I would probably ask for less sweet next time if they have that option. The cream tops on both were a thinner consistency and ended up just dissolving in the drinks, making it creamier/sweeter. The service was quick and drinks came out fast. They also sell strawberry and banana pudding which seemed popular but we didn't try them out. Matcha einspanner : 3.5/5 - More on the sweeter side, I would ask for 50% sweetness next time. It kind of hides the matcha flavor. I feel the cream top should've been more as well? And a bit more thicker? So like when it melts into the drink, it's creamier! Overall, still a very delicious drink because I can truly taste the matcha. Strawberry matcha : 4/5 - it's not too sweet nor is it too bland. I can really taste the earthy matcha flavor and it blends really well with the strawberry. Scoop latte : 4/5 - that coffee is sweeter than others. I would say that you could taste the strong coffee but also the sweetness in it too. For me I don't like strong coffee, so this would be a good choice of drink if you're like me. Giving lofi coffee shop vibes in here!! Very clean, very aesthetic! Cafe The Scoop is a cute little coffee shop perfect for studying and doing work! I ordered an iced matcha latte with 50% sweetness and it was perfect. The matcha was not grainy at all and tasted very earthy. The staff were extremely friendly and accomodating with the sweetness adjustment. The cafe itself is decorated really cutely and there is ample seating. Parking in the plaza can be a little tricky since all of the spots are compact, but there are a lot of spaces. I loooooovee the Scoop!!! Oh my goodness, what a charming addition to Long Beach!!! The parking is dangerous but its worth it for their delicious drinks!! I like that they have their special cheongs you can buy in the fridge. As for drinks, I like that they had special things outside of the usual coffee and matcha. I tried their strawberry milk and my friend got their banana milk and wow, its amazing!! The banana flavor is UNREAL!! Their strawberry and banana pudding looks great too; I will have to come back and try again! Very spacious and inviting space. Always popular with lots of people going in and out. read more

This place exceeded my expectations. I got their banana matcha latte, the flavor of banana was strong and natural while the nuttiness of the matcha also shined through. The matcha itself was strong so I sipped and savored slowly so it could last me through an 8 hour school day. I also got the banana pudding and it was the best I've ever had...not to sweet like many of us want. The pudding was light and creamy with banana chunks, layered between graham crackers that balanced the flavor and texture of the pudding. I also got a pain au chocolat that was buttery, flakey and perfectly chocolatey. I will absolutely be trying the strawberry matcha latte and pudding which I know will be amazing. The owner helped me decide on which matcha latte to go for, so thank you Miss!!! She is very sweet and I can tell she cares about her customers. The cafe is very spacious and open with a lot of windows for natural light to come through. They also have little works of art and merch that make for a picture perfect moment with your purchase. I would recommend this place for studying or relaxing, there's ample seating and the aesthetic is cute and not too distracting. I've been wanting to try cafe the scoop because their matchas look stronger tasting than other cafes. I tried the banana matcha latte, and while it was very sweet, the matcha flavor still came through. The inside looks very cute and a good place to study. I was browsing the internet for a good matcha place in Long Beach found this little hidden gem! It was busy when we arrived, and the place was full but service was quick and fast! I tried the banana matcha latte and on my first sip my taste buds awakened because it was so good! They use ceremonnial grade matcha and the sweetness was just right. I could taste little tidbits of banana in it too. I was happy they were able to substitue the milk with oatmilk for non-dairy drinkers like me! My sister tried the matcha banana pudding and said it was delicious and devoured it! It was definitely worth the hype! The place was cute and cozy. Cafe The Scoop was a spot I bookmarked for their matcha lattes. However, at the time I visited them, I wasn't craving something really sweet. I decided to get the iced cold brew Einspanner. I did get this with almond milk at less sweetness. The foam was not too sweet. I think getting it at regular sweetness would have made it even better. But it was decent. In terms of parking, they had some space in the plaza. I did go on a Saturday at around 11:30am. It was definitely a busy time. Many seats were already taken and the music was a bit loud. It seems like a decent study spot if you had some headphones and a nice spot to chat with some friends. I'd definitely come back to specifically try their matcha lattes! What's the scoop on Cafe The Scoop? It's honestly another gem! I've been seeing this cafe on my feed for some time, and I've was captivated by the color of their matcha; it's known fact that you can tell how good matcha is by the color. Their matcha has a good balance between umami and nuttiness. I specifically got their matcha einspanner since I like my matcha on the creamier side (forgot a pic!) Once you order, service is relatively quick. They do have a small pastry selection that was mostly out by the time I arrived. On a Sunday around noon, this spot is really poppin with a lot of folks getting their post-church pick me up or enjoying the Sunday cafe vibes. The interior is a bright clean white with bright minimalistic artwork. This spot is really close to my church, so I will be here pretty often! Cafe the Scoop is located in a small strip mall off of Los Coyotes Diagonal and Parkcrest. It's a little hidden and the parking lot isn't huge, but you can probably find parking in the neighborhood nearby. It is right at the fork in the road, so I definitely got a little disoriented driving out. But it's worth jumping through hoops for Cafe the Scoop! read more

Cafe the Scoop has become my favorite matcha cafe. It isn't local to me but I visit on the weekends and any chance i get. Their customer service is also a plus. They are kind and make you feel welcomed. So far anytime I visit and have questions about their drinks they are glad to inform me. I've never had to wait too long. I never was that big of a matcha drinker but I've been enjoying it more and more now. I'm not a matcha connoisseur by any means but I really do like the matcha here. Not sure why but I do know that it's good. I've tried their matcha einspanner, the strawberry matcha and banana matcha. Love them all! For the strawberry matcha, they use fresh strawberries. I have also tried their banana pudding and it's pretty good. It's creamy, banana-y but not overpowering and it's the right amount of sweetness to my palate. Ordered the strawberry matcha with light ice. I would say that the matcha is one of the best that I've had. It's thick and creamy and strong but not overpowering. It mixes really well and has a really nice color! I'd love to come back if I'm in the area to try their other drinks read more
I've been on a matcha kick lately and have heard really good things about Cafe the Scoop. I decided to head before work this week. I really like fruit, sweet matcha and the barista recommended the banana matcha for me. This ambiance of this cafe is so cute! The music made me feel like i was in a snoopy movie- to be it's very soothing and comforting. They also had banana and strawberry pudding which I'll come back to try soon. The drink itself was hands down one of the best matchas I've had. The banana flavor that they use is soooo good, not an artificial sweetener. Can't wait to try more things. read more
As someone familiar with the LA matcha scene, I'd say this place is on par with top matcha spots in LA! I ordered the matcha einspanner and it was delicious. It was strong and had a good matcha flavor. The cream was light, creamy, and not too sweet. The matcha had the perfect amount of sweetness. Mixed together, it was yummy. This should be the standard for quality matcha. I was honestly surprised at how good the matcha is because this place wasn't as viral as places like Stagger in Ktown LA, but this was a good find and hidden gem. My friend I went with ordered a matcha latte with oat milk and also agreed that that matcha was good and strong. The portion size was also on the larger side and at a good price of $8. I visited this café around noon on a Sunday and it was pretty busy during the 5 hours I spent in that café. The interior was nice and there was wifi and outlets, so I could work there. However, it is pretty loud since it seems like a social café, so if you don't mind that it is a good place to get some work done. There was lots of staff working to keep up with the large crowd, but they were mostly polite given the volume of orders. Overall, I had a great experience here and I would come back to get their matcha again. A top matcha option in the Long Beach area! read more

Walking into the store, I could already tell it would be a great study spot. The space felt really cozy without being too crowded. The workers were super friendly and took the time to recommend a few drinks based on what I usually like. Although I just ended up ordering a regular matcha latte with oat milk, and it was really good. The matcha flavor came through clearly and wasn't drowned out by the oat milk or vanilla syrup. Overall I'd definitely come back to try some of the recommendations they gave me. read more

Very consistent service. Workers always seem to be in a positive attitude, it's nice to see good customer service in such a clean store. I've never had a problem with their drinks, and their matchas are my absolute favorite. Their cafe lattes are very nice, and I could always go with their vanilla latte and never be disappointed. Atmosphere As soon as you walk in, you're greeted with an immense amount of natural light, high ceilings, cozy decor, and soothing music. This is the type of place where you just want to grab your drink and relax before starting your busy, loud, chaotic day. Every seating area has an outlet and a charging station, so you can come here and, as the saying goes, "work from home." Drinks Obviously, we are here for the drinks. Aside from the confusing name, this isn't an ice cream store. Instead, they serve very well-balanced and thoughtfully constructed coffee and matcha drinks. They also have tea, flavored milk, as well as desserts and pastries. Now, when I go to any coffee shop, my usual preference is to ask for the drink to be less sweet. But believe me when I say this--the best compliment you can give in the Asian community is that it's "not too sweet." Their drinks are perfectly balanced. In a world where most lattes taste like milk, you can actually taste the individual ingredients, and they all work in harmony with each other. We've gotten their lattes, matchas, and teas without much modification. Trust that they've done their flavor research. Service The service is warm and friendly, always greeting you with a welcome and thanking you when you leave. Wait times are typical for this type of coffee shop, but everyone seems polite and knowledgeable about everything they sell. Tried their matcha einspanner, and the cream on top did everything. Matcha not too sweet, not too bitter, perfect for my matcha tastebud. I had 5 drink orders and they made it quickly so we can make it back to work on time. I also grabbed banana pudding and strawberry pudding. My family and I loved both so much. The pudding cream is so addicting. It's located in front of high school, which means it gets crowded when students get out of school. It helps to create lively and energetic ambiance. read more

This place is busy for a reason!! The line moves quick so don't let that scare you lol. The staff is very friendly. Very cozy and aesthetic ambiance. I got the banana latte with vanilla cold foam and I totally did not expect there to be actual mushed banana at the bottom. It was so delicious!! Although I didn't get any pastries, that hazelnut croissant was eyeing me. I will be back for that. Overall 10/10 coffee shop! read more

When I made my journey all the way to Long Beach taking that 40mins+ one-way drive, I already invested quite high expectations for it to be good. I did read many great reviews about Cafe the Scoop, but needed to kinda collect my eagerness to spend the driving time. I loved the cute and sleek ambiance, complemented by warm welcoming service. Kind reminder, the venue's kinda chilly; prolly perfect at first entrance amidst the hot sunny days but as I sat longer it's kinda challenging lol. They did offer some pastries and seemed to be popular for their banana pudding but I skipped them and went for drink only. Most people went for their einspanner so I surely had to give it a try. Their matcha color did trigger me to opt for it and it flawlessly proved me making the right decision as the taste was as good as the appearance. It's also distinctive point for me that they could serve it hot, which others typically didn't. The default came sweetened at just the right level. I really hope they would open more branches closer to my neighborhood! read more

Cafe The Scoop is such a cozy little spot the kind of place you walk into and immediately feel tucked away from the world. The aesthetic is warm, curated, and inviting, almost like a neighborhood living room with coffee. I love the atmosphere and the personality of the space; it's definitely somewhere I enjoy coming back to just to sit, sip, and relax. As for drinks, I do like their matcha options, but I have to be honest: the pricing feels a bit high considering the matcha is batched. For the cost, I'd expect something a little more handcrafted or customized. And with the banana matcha specifically, the banana flavor is really strong a little aggressive to the point where it can overpower the matcha instead of complementing it. Not bad, just not super balanced. That said, I still genuinely enjoy this coffee shop. The vibe, decor, and overall experience are what make it worth the visit. I got their matcha latte and their strawberry matcha. Both are good but they are on the sweeter side so I would adjust the sweetness next time. It is a strong matcha too and keeps me caffeinated and energized for hours. I love that they make their strawberry puree in house and it's so good ! Limited seating but pretty interior. When I went in, it definitely seemed to be their most popular item -- it was busy, and almost everyone left with some variation of a matcha latte in hand. Sooooooooo I'm the weirdo who ordered the espresso. And not their super cute Scoop Latte with the cleverly photogenic palmier heart. Nah, I got the elusive banana latte (with whole milk). It was absolutely delicious, you just gotta give it a good stir since most of the sweet settles at the bottom. The espresso was perfectly pulled, the roast was not too bitter. The banana latte was rich, creamy, and sweet -- it also had a really satisfying texture when it was all mixed together. It kind of gave bananas foster vibes. A great addition to Long Beach's growing matcha scene. It's located next to McBride High school. Walking in on a Saturday mid-morning, there was a solid customer base, filling the limited seating and waiting for drinks. I'm glad for them. We tried their whole matcha line: Latte, Strawberry, and Einspanner. If you want it super sweet, I suggest the Strawberry, as it has a super sweet syrup. Make sure you stir it well to incorporate the the full flavor of the drink. The Latte is solid--not super sweet, but balanced with the matcha taste. The Einspanner is pretty much just the latte, but a creamier texture...so choose what you're in the mood for, but either are good options. You might have to wipe down your own table (since they don't really have anyone checking on that). It shares a parking lot with a lot of other busy businesses so it has the potential to be tight--try to go during off times. Overall, a pleasant, positive experience here. Recommend. read more

Matcha Einspanner: Honestly, the matcha was underwhelming (a bit powdery too). Sadly wanted to love it because the color looked really good! However, that was not the case and the drink came out to be $8 (without additional charge of milk sub) and is a pretty penny. However, staff and service was nice. Cafe is situated somewhat near CSULB, so students can come here to study! Ambiance is a nice typical and small cafe for those looking to have a chit chat with friends or also study. read more
