Drinks: 5/5 The matcha drinks tasted premium and well-made. I tried the hojicha and was really pleased with the overall flavor. The menu also includes short descriptions, which helps when choosing drinks you haven't seen before. Customer Service: 5/5 The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. They answered our questions about the unique drink options and made the experience feel welcoming. Ambiance: 5/5 The vibe was chill and mellow, perfect for relaxing and enjoying your drink. There are a few tables inside, plus cute merch available. Parking: 4/5 Parking spaces are a bit tight, but availability was good when we stopped by in the evening. Definitely a spot I'd come back to when I'm around town.
I've been looking for a new cute cafe spot in Long Beach to enjoy some coffee and chill and this was a good spot to go to if you're in the area. I read a few reviews how it's spacious, however I found it to be smaller than I thought. Because of busy it was for a Friday morning, seating was limited as most people were there studying/working or socializing. Staff were very nice and friendly and worked quickly despite the rush. I ordered an iced banana latte and it was good! I would say it was more a hint of banana. I also tried their chocolate croissant which was a good size for breakfast and was perfectly toasted. Most people come here for their matcha so I'd have to give that a try next time. While there is a parking lot, parking was a bit challenging as this coffee shop is in the same lot as a lot of other businesses.
Cute little spot to catch up with a friend! We went with the cashier's recommendations: Banana Matcha Latte & Strawberry Matcha. The matcha was surprisingly dark and thick, but craaazy sweet! I definitely gotta ask for reduced sweetness next time. When I come back, I might try their Banana Latte instead :)
The matcha is smooth and earthy without tasting bitter, while the banana flavor adds this creamy sweetness that almost tastes like banana pudding in drink form. It's rich, balanced, and not overloaded with sugar like a lot of trendy matcha spots. The layers and presentation are super clean too, and you can tell they use quality matcha because the flavor still comes through instead of getting drowned out by milk or syrup. The vibe inside is chill, modern, and perfect for catching up with friends or getting work done. Definitely a spot I'd keep coming back to for matcha runs.
You know what considering how f*cken busy it was... I'm talking line out the door, full house in this mfer I got my drink pretty quick. Especially since I came on a Saturday between 12:30-2:00 PM, which is peak hours. I was a little intimidated at first because it was like 90% women, and I had a shirt on that said "kinda fit kinda fat," so I thought I might offend somebody lol. Anyways, if I'm around the area, I'd definitely stop by again considering how spacious it is and how fast the line moved. The coffee itself was good you can see and taste the crema, which tells me the espresso was pulled correctly. No burnt taste at all. The spot is aesthetically pleasing, super clean, and offers more than just coffee. I also did some research on the company because I was curious, and I respect that the owner really started from the bottom. It was about 4 years in the making as she started by creating her own house-macerated fruit/compotes, doing pop-ups, and selling them in jars before incorporating them into beverages. Those are the kinds of stories I like to hear. It shows she didn't just jump into opening a cafe with no experience she actually put in the work, experimented with flavors for years, and understands what pairs well together. It's a craft I can respect, especially when you see so many new coffee shops opening up using Torani or Monin syrups without really mastering the fundamentals first.
This is my first time at Cafe the Scoop in Long Beach. It is located in a small strip mall. It is a Korean-inspired coffee shop. According to Google, It is known for its high-quality matcha drinks, creative lattes, and house-made puddings, especially the banana pudding. They use fresh ingredients like natural fruit syrups. Some Popular items include scoop lattes, matcha lattes (especially with pudding), and pastries like kouign-amann. See full menu in attached pictures. The Interior is spacious, bright, fresh and inviting with natural elements and a very relaxing jazz music playing in the background. It offers a cozy atmosphere with free Wi-Fi and outlets, making it a great spot for studying, I had the scoop Latté which is a cold drink made with sweetened espresso, milk of choice and vanilla cold foam. It is topped With a Palmier cookie and cocoa powder. I also had an almond croissant. My drink was really good. The croissant was good but no different than anywhere else. Prices are reasonable, and the young staff is really friendly. I was there for about an hour, and it was very busy. The crowd was mostly college students. I really enjoyed my first visit. I highly recommend trying them out.
I came here because I heard their matchas are good and they're not... They're amazing! Best flavored matchas around. I love the banana and strawberry matcha. Plus I can get it with oatmilk. It's always so rich in flavor without diminishing the flavor of the matcha. Look how green that drink is! That's some strong matcha Always friendly service here and love that there's enough room to sit and hang out or work.
Super yums! My friend and I came in on a Sunday morning and it wasn't too busy. We got our drinks within 10 minutes and set up shop to get some work done for the next few hours. There are several tables and outlets so it is a good study cafe. But onto the drinks! We got a matcha latte (75% sweet) and a matcha einspanner, both of which were amazing. I will admit that I got almond milk instead of oat which was a mistake because almond milk has a strong flavor so I couldn't taste the matcha as much, but that was definitely my bad. It was still super smooth and the perfect sweetness level so I couldn't complain! My friend for the matcha einspanner which she said was really good, a bit on the sweeter side, but perfect if you like your matcha sweet. She tried the banana matcha before and liked that one more than the einspanner though. Overall, I would come back and try their other offerings! Next time without almond milk though haha. Yummy coffee shop in a nice area. I saw lots of people going for runs or walking their dogs nearby. This place is right in the corner of a weirdly shaped parking lot. There's a good amount of seating inside and it was a nice place to sit and enjoy our drinks Scoop latte: 4/5 this wasn't bad but I like super sweet coffee so this was a little bitter for me. It's prob pretty sweet to most people though Banana pudding: 4/5 I liked this a lot and ended up putting some of the pudding into my coffee like extra cream top and mixed it in Def would wanna try the banana latte next time I'm back
4.5 stars rounding up to 5 Came on a Saturday right at 9am opening and there was already 5 people ahead of me. The inside looked really aesthetic and clean. The employees were friendly! We ordered the: - Banana Matcha Latte w/ oat milk: delicious! You can taste real banana chunks on the bottom. We got it 50% sweet since the banana makes the drink sweeter - Matcha Latte w/ oat milk: got it 75% sweet and it was the right amount of sweetness. You can taste the matcha and overall refreshing drink. This would be a cute date spot. There's a few tables and seats inside. There's also a restroom inside which was clean. We sat there for a bit and there was consistently a line. Would come back again if in the area!
I was expecting more quality matcha but it was somewhat disappointing...though the store was super busy. This is between boba and a speciality coffee shop ceremonial matcha. Though the color of the matcha was super green, it definitely was not high grade matcha - and a little on the sweeter side for me. We also got their coffee, which I feel the same-a bit too sweet and in between Starbucks and boba shop.

Five-Star Review for Café The Scoop This was my first time at Café The Scoop, and it absolutely lived up to the hype! Fabiola and Sara truly came in clutch with their friendly, patient, and thoughtful service. They were so accommodating when it came to adjusting the sweetness level of our drinks and even brought them over to our table, which was such a kind and helpful gesture. The café does have indoor seating, but it's a busy spot, and for good reason! Despite the constant flow of customers, parking is surprisingly great, with people coming in and out so you can always find a spot. I also really appreciated how clean and well maintained everything was. The restroom was spotless, had a "keep our restroom clean" sign, and even included a changing table for parents, which is such a thoughtful touch. As for the drinks: amazing! I ordered the iced strawberry matcha half sweet, and it was absolutely delicious. My husband got the banana latte, half banana and half decaf (one regular shot, one decaf), and it was marvelous. You can truly taste the care put into each drink. Sara and Fabiola made our drinks with so much love and even reassured me that if anything needed adjusting, they'd be happy to modify it. Tried their matcha einspanner, and the cream on top did everything. Matcha not too sweet, not too bitter, perfect for my matcha tastebud. I had 5 drink orders and they made it quickly so we can make it back to work on time. I also grabbed banana pudding and strawberry pudding. My family and I loved both so much. The pudding cream is so addicting. It's located in front of high school, which means it gets crowded when students get out of school. It helps to create lively and energetic ambiance. read more

When I made my journey all the way to Long Beach taking that 40mins+ one-way drive, I already invested quite high expectations for it to be good. I did read many great reviews about Cafe the Scoop, but needed to kinda collect my eagerness to spend the driving time. I loved the cute and sleek ambiance, complemented by warm welcoming service. Kind reminder, the venue's kinda chilly; prolly perfect at first entrance amidst the hot sunny days but as I sat longer it's kinda challenging lol. They did offer some pastries and seemed to be popular for their banana pudding but I skipped them and went for drink only. Most people went for their einspanner so I surely had to give it a try. Their matcha color did trigger me to opt for it and it flawlessly proved me making the right decision as the taste was as good as the appearance. It's also distinctive point for me that they could serve it hot, which others typically didn't. The default came sweetened at just the right level. I really hope they would open more branches closer to my neighborhood! read more

Cafe The Scoop is such a cozy little spot the kind of place you walk into and immediately feel tucked away from the world. The aesthetic is warm, curated, and inviting, almost like a neighborhood living room with coffee. I love the atmosphere and the personality of the space; it's definitely somewhere I enjoy coming back to just to sit, sip, and relax. As for drinks, I do like their matcha options, but I have to be honest: the pricing feels a bit high considering the matcha is batched. For the cost, I'd expect something a little more handcrafted or customized. And with the banana matcha specifically, the banana flavor is really strong a little aggressive to the point where it can overpower the matcha instead of complementing it. Not bad, just not super balanced. That said, I still genuinely enjoy this coffee shop. The vibe, decor, and overall experience are what make it worth the visit. I got their matcha latte and their strawberry matcha. Both are good but they are on the sweeter side so I would adjust the sweetness next time. It is a strong matcha too and keeps me caffeinated and energized for hours. I love that they make their strawberry puree in house and it's so good ! Limited seating but pretty interior. Having read and reread all the reviews, everyone seems to agree that matcha is the thing here. When I went in, it definitely seemed to be their most popular item -- it was busy, and almost everyone left with some variation of a matcha latte in hand. Sooooooooo I'm the weirdo who ordered the espresso. And not their super cute Scoop Latte with the cleverly photogenic palmier heart. Nah, I got the elusive banana latte (with whole milk). It was absolutely delicious, you just gotta give it a good stir since most of the sweet settles at the bottom. The espresso was perfectly pulled, the roast was not too bitter. The banana latte was rich, creamy, and sweet -- it also had a really satisfying texture when it was all mixed together. It kind of gave bananas foster vibes. I highly recommend giving it a shot, if you're into that sort of thing. read more
A great addition to Long Beach's growing matcha scene. It's located next to McBride High school. Walking in on a Saturday mid-morning, there was a solid customer base, filling the limited seating and waiting for drinks. I'm glad for them. We tried their whole matcha line: Latte, Strawberry, and Einspanner. If you want it super sweet, I suggest the Strawberry, as it has a super sweet syrup. Make sure you stir it well to incorporate the the full flavor of the drink. The Latte is solid--not super sweet, but balanced with the matcha taste. The Einspanner is pretty much just the latte, but a creamier texture...so choose what you're in the mood for, but either are good options. You might have to wipe down your own table (since they don't really have anyone checking on that). It shares a parking lot with a lot of other busy businesses so it has the potential to be tight--try to go during off times. Overall, a pleasant, positive experience here. Recommend. read more

Matcha Einspanner: Honestly, the matcha was underwhelming (a bit powdery too). Sadly wanted to love it because the color looked really good! However, that was not the case and the drink came out to be $8 (without additional charge of milk sub) and is a pretty penny. However, staff and service was nice. Cafe is situated somewhat near CSULB, so students can come here to study! Ambiance is a nice typical and small cafe for those looking to have a chit chat with friends or also study. read more

New cute & yummy coffee shop landed in Long Beach, CA! First thing first, my favorites from this cafe are the puddings (both banana & strawberry) and any matcha drinks. Honestly, their banana pudding is even better than magnolia's! It's not too sweet or greasy, but pefectly sweet and smooth. Their matcha drinks are also amazing - with or without the cream on top. The owner told us that they use premium matcha which makes that smooth taste. The shop is very spacious with lots of table and outlet, which is great for people who tend to study or work at a cafe (like me lol). Their wifi is super fast too! I also got a kouign-amann and a sesame bagel which were both delicious. I literally devoured one of each item ahaha I can't wait to go back to try the rest of the menu!! This new coffee shop has some really amazing matcha! I'm so glad I found out this recently opened Korean cafe with a menu full of unique & high quality drinks. It's also a pretty cozy, inviting and spacious shop with plenty of light & seating. Great for hanging out or studying. The staff is super nice as well! I especially love the matcha drinks here. This cafe uses ceremonial matcha for a rich, smooth and strong matcha taste with their drinks and it really comes through. The matcha einspanner, strawberry matcha latte & banana matcha latte were all well crafted and tasted really good. The matcha einspanner was some of the best matcha I've had recently. Cafe The Scoop uses natural ingredients like their fresh fruit syrups made without preservatives in their drinks. Their creams, syrups and purées are also made fresh in house and I could taste the quality while drinking their drinks. Their signature scoop latte, blue lemon sparkling refresher & mazagran are also drinks worth trying if you're looking for something other than matcha! Besides their delicious drinks, their house made banana pudding & strawberry pudding are also super good! It's some of the best banana pudding I've had. Their offerings are all quality stuff and tasted great. They really know what they're doing with the matcha here. I've been hearing a lot of great things about Cafe The Scoop, so I decided to give it a shot! The cafe itself is really clean and nicely decorated. I could see myself chilling and getting work done here! The baristas were really nice as well and answered my questions about their drinks, as I never heard of some of the things on the menu lol I ended up getting the Matcha Eispanner, and it's probably one of the best matcha lattes I've had. Perfectly balanced and just the right amount of sweetness. They are very generous with the matcha too. Will 100% be coming back for more :) read more

It's in a little place on the corner of the plaza. Driving to it is lowkey hard as the street branches off different ways which is kind of annoying. The service was friendly and patient. Great place to get some work done. They also have a refrigerator when you can purchase milk and water as well as their signature scoop. I got their Matcha Einspanner but it was bit too sweet for my liking. I recommend getting unsweetened as it is the perfect ratio once the foam is mixed into the matcha. Something I would recommend to the store is to write adjustments on the cup itself instead of on the lid. While I am drinking my unsweetened matcha the sharpie smell on the lid really messes with the taste. Perhaps using another non-smelling marker would work as well. All in all a great place to get matcha, would come again. read more

Staff was really nice and real quick in providing service! I really appreciate the girl taking my order for answering my questions and being so sweet especially cause it was my first time at this place! I got a strawberry matcha and my friend got the matcha latte~ The drinks were really good and such an aesthetic pleasing shade of green The interior design is minimal and has lot of nice touches like the drawings on the glass panels at the front counter and the posters/art on the walls! It seems to be a good place to study since they were playing calming, cozy instrumental music and a lot of people around us were doing work on their laptops/notebooks~ They do have a shared parking lot with other businesses that has a decent amount of spaces, but I can imagine parking may be difficult if you go at busier times read more
Seen it on yelp and decided to try it out today. What caught our eye was the flavors. It's moderately busy in the afternoon. A few places to sit around if needed. Music is very relaxing. Came here for a quick study day before other plans nearby and really enjoyed this little spot! It can get crowded so if you're trying to go to study, I suggest coming early for a seat or having a backup plan just in case. There is plenty of parking in the lot so that wasn't an issue. I tried to strawberry matcha and really enjoyed it! When I left I had the Honey Pear tea as well and it was very refreshing. The staff was super friendly and answered any questions I had about their drinks/menu~! Omggg I came here yesterday to try their drinks and it was soo yummy. They look aesthetic online but woah..it tasted delicious too. I got scoop latte which was creamy with the heart shaped bread on top. It was good. I got it with oat milk. I also oedered the famous banana pudding and mixed it inside their matcha einspanner drink which paired well together. Omg... but thr winner was this drink. The cafe cream cold brew einspanner drink. It was delicious!! I would definitely come back to try their matcha banana pudding before its gone. The staff was so friendly and kind. I met the manager named Sarah and she was the best. She was so sweet to explain all the drinks and ingredients . I really loved the interior too as it was decorated all white with cute decorations around the cafe. My husband and I stopped by Cafe The Scoop and absolutely loved it! We tried their pineapple matcha (seasonal flavor) and strawberry matcha; both were so refreshing and delicious. You can really taste the difference because they make their own cheong in-house, which gives the drinks such a fresh and vibrant flavor. They even sell jars of their cheong for about $19, which I'm already tempted to come back for! The shop itself is super cute with an aesthetic, cozy vibe. For the small size, they did a great job maximizing seating; it felt very efficient. I'd definitely recommend coming a little early if you want to grab a spot to read, work, or study. They also offer free WiFi, which is a big plus. The employees were nice, fun, and helpful in explaining their menu. Overall, this place has a warm atmosphere, creative drinks, and a thoughtful setup that makes you want to linger. Definitely a gem worth revisiting! read more

I think this will be one of my new favorite go to coffee shops in Long Beach! They have a beautiful inside are with spots to chill and get work done if you would like. They offer free WiFi which is great. It was my first time here so the barista gave me a run down on all of their signature drinks. I never had a match Einspänner before so I decided on that with almond milk. I loved it! The matcha was really good and the vanilla cold foam was the perfect pair. Food: 4/5 My friends and I got the Matcha Einspanner, Matcha Latte, and Strawberry Matcha! The matcha was good but I wish the matcha flavor was stronger. For the pastry, we got the Kouign-amann which was fluffy and delicious! Ambiance: 5/5 Super cute place with cute decor, good amount of seating, and a nice aesthetic! + there's WiFi and parking! the matcha is great. the service is great. the atmosphere is amazing. however, the iced banana latte needs some work because i can barely taste the banana flavor and every sip turns really sour. even when i mix it well, still sour. i don't know if it's sour because of their coffee roast or what but my boyfriend and i literally took 5 sips max of this drink and immediately tossed it. honestly don't know how this is 1 of their top sellers. read more
