So...it's time for lunch. Nicely located near a park. Great seating inside and out. Decent looking menu. Oh! A caprese salad is offered with other entree salads. Yum. Salad arrives. Three tomatoes. Three. This is an appetizer, not a lunch sized salad. I'm hungry here. Still hungry afterwards. So I order another plate, my second choice. I adore croissant breakfast sandwiches. Ham, egg and cheese. Plate arrives. A small salad and the sandwich. Awesome. I'll be full. Except the croissant is burnt; the eggs are obviously cut out from a pan and the cheese? I tried Café Verde for the first time tonight and I am absolutely a fan! We ordered about 6:15pm and there was no line. The cashier was extremely friendly and helpful, and the prices were good for Marin County-- $9ish dollars depending on the meal, which is to be expected here. My veggie pesto wrap was so delicious, filling, and fresh. Everyone else loved their meals as well. The wait for our food was definitely less than 10 minutes and I will 100% be back soon! read more

Pretty upset that coming for my second time I noticed entitled looking people order from their table.. And then they ask for the check from their table.. Isn't this a place where you order from the cashier and then you sit with your number? Defeats the whole purpose of grabbing these numbers. Customers should know to order from the counter to pay because then it just looks like the customers who dont follow this are getting special treatment. Which actually in turn resulted in my order coming after their orders. And it looks like the orders were being taken from the owner. The owner looks like a sweet kind man but its not fair when I saw this. I didnt enjoy my food after observing this sort of service. To top this my order was completely forgotten. I had to wait over 35 minutes because pizzas were being made for other tables with families.. Pretty darn upset. I dont want to take it personal but I already did. I love illy coffee and this is why I came here. To the owner: please be fair to all customers and tell them to just order from the counter. Trust that people are watching you especially when their orders are late and when you take orders from tables and cook their food first! Dont do that! You burn customer loyalty. Good luck. read more

Went in for a midweek lunch and had an amazing octopus appetizer and an IPA on tap. The food was on point and good service all around. Even with a busy lunch rush they were very attentive to our needs as I was there with a friend who had the salmon sandwich with a side salad. Wow, how have I never been here before?!?? I just recently moved to Corte Madera and my boyfriend and I were on Yelp searching for dinner options close to home. This place is phenomenal. First of all, I was a tad annoying when I called, I asked a lot of questions and the man was very patient with me. Great customer service. Second, the pizzas were spectacular. My boyfriend got the traditional Pepperoni- perfect pepperoni pizza! 5/5 stars. The pepperoni had just the right amount of spice to it and the marinara sauce was perfect. Crust is ON POINT! They cook the pizza to perfection in my opinion. I, personally ordered the pesto, fig, and prosciutto pizza- melts in your mouth, the perfect balance of sweetness from the figs and salt from the prosciutto. And to top it off we shared the Beet Salad which normally comes with spinach but the man was kind enough to swap it out for mixed greens for me. I will be back for this salad! Beets, toasted almonds, goat cheese, mixed greens and some sort of yummy citrus dressing that really complimented it. I know it's a lot to write a long review, let alone READ a Long review, but I'm writing this because this place deserves it. I've been in the food and beverage industry for 15+ years now as a server. I know good food and I definitely know good service. I've recently lost my job and I can not imagine the stress that these business owners are facing during these troubling times. We just stumbled on this place on a visit to Marin. We were very pleasantly surprised by a truly excellent dining experience. To start with the beer menu was amazing. We ordered a calzone and the eggplant parmigiana. Both were delicious. The environment was very cozy and comfortable. Our waiter was great, making sure we had everything we needed. Can't wait to get back there and try out some other beers and menu items. Perfect combination of beer, food, service and comfort. Could not recommend it more highly. read more

We have dined at Cafe Verde for years. We always enjoy the food and Tint, the owner is a great owner. We called tonight to order the calzone from the online menu, which clearly says it's Kobe beef. When we tried to clarify our order, and that it had the Kobe beef, Antonis, said it came with ground beef - not Kobe. Regardless, we ordered and when we went to pick it up, I showed him the menu on my phone that clearly said ' Kobe beef'. His response was ' do you know the price per pound of Kobe beef?' When I explained that the cost was not my concern, he told me I was a complainer and was unbelievably indignant and rude. Why Tony employs this person who has no respect for customers is very surprising. We love Cafe Verde but will dine elsewhere. Who needs to be treated so condescendingly when trying to support our local restaurant. read more

Wow, the pizza here is great. I got the Pesto and added basil and pepperoni. The taste was really delicious. The combo of the spices, pesto, and pepperoni went very well together. I wanted to eat the whole thing at once. Will be returning here for more pizza, for sure. read more

I'm a little torn about Cafe Verde. I'll get the bad part out of the way first, also known as the weird wifi encounter. My boyfriend and his band mate, upon arrival in Corte Madera were on the hunt for a coffee shop with wifi in which to do some work. They went in and asked if there was wifi and were told that there wasn't. Honestly, a cafe without wifi is just bizarre to me, so I put it in the "dump" category and didn't even try it for 8 months despite having moved in a few blocks away. One sunny day we decided to walk and get a cappuccino. While there I asked if there was wifi and voila. Password was shared, and that was that. Not sure if they didn't have it before and got on with the times or if they thought the guys looked too young and alternative to waste their wifi on but that always left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. If they did have wifi from the beginning, they turned away customers who love to drink coffee and brunch away. Tsk. Under the assumption that there was no foul play... they get a high star (although I would probably opt for a 3.5) because it's a nice little neighborhood spot. The community put some money together to create a park area and renovate the intersection (the before pictures on their website are shocking https://sites.google.com/site/cafeverdemarin/about-us). The cafe does a bit of everything. Breakfast (including breakfast pizzas and burritos), coffee shop, bakery, lunch, and dinner. As such, the menu is expansive. The have several beers on draft, including Stella. The pizzas are thin and crisp. Panini sandos are delish. There's ample sitting outside and it's dog friendly with water bowls in place. They serve up some pretty good cappuccinos, especially nice back in the day (as in up until a few months ago) when there was a drought of non-chain coffee shops in the area. Prices are fair for Marin and they send out coupons in the mail to save you some moolah. read more

This place held such promise. Alas, my experience there was terrible in every way. First I had hoped that with a name like "Green" it would have a menu that was at least reasonably earth friendly. Not so. Virtually nothing vegetarian, let alone vegan, and no sign of a local focus. So my friend and I just ordered a soy latte and a soy chai to go. The staff seemed clueless and did not seem to even know what vegan meant and took a long time ringing up a simple order, even though the line was getting long. Then we waited and waited and waited. I finally went to the counter and asked what was going on and the woman behind the counter seemed confused. Then she said they were out of chai mix! When did they plan on letting us know?? So, we cancelled that and she refunded the chai (with difficulty). In a hurry now, I took my soy latte and we left. as we turned onto Tamalpais, I took a sip and realized it was made with cows milk! Fail, fail and fail. I called later that day and asked to speak to the manager and was told he wasn't there. I was polite and just said I wanted to ask him about possibly adding some vegan menu options. He wasn't there and I left a message and he never called back. So hopeful, soooooo disappointing! read more

What are you doing Cafe Verde???? I ordered a pollo wrap for take out. It doesn't say that cheese comes on it but whatever white creamy cheese substance you put on my wrap was BAD. AS IN SOUR. AS IN SO OBVIOUSLY AND TERRIBLY EXPIRED MY SICK BODY IMMEDIATELY REJECTED IT. Really bad look, really awful wrap even aside from the bad cheese. My SO and I went by this place for the first time while riding bike to Mill Valley and decided to stop by on our way back. This place was great. We sat at the bar and grabbed lunch and a beer. We happened to be sitting next to the owner and had a chance to talk about the restaurant. We each had a sandwich with a side salad and a beer. The sandwiches were tasty as was the salad. The house salad dressing was, in fact, quite delicious. On our way out, we stopped at the freezer full of gelato bars. The owner gave us each one on his tab -- what a nice guy. We definitely will be back, especially to sit at the bar and have a few glasses of beer. Highly recommend. read more

I'm not sure what crazy people are giving Cafe Verde less than 5 stars, but that's just wrong! This place is the BEST. I must eat there 3 times a week, usually the salads and they're consistently perfect, with large servings. Perhaps people were reviewing when they had just opened, and were working out the bugs, but Verde is 3 ? years old now, and running smooth as pie. I recommend the Ensalata Cinese, and the Beet Salad with goat cheese, also love the arugula and buratta with strawberries- yum! They offer GLUTEN FREE PIZZA too, tho the oven is not a dedicated one. The coffee is great, and there's beer or wine... and with free wif and outdoor cafe tables under the awning or umbrellas, how can you lose? You can bring your dog, and your kids, and if you happen to stroll by you're likely to see someone you know. Get in there and enjoy! read more

Just opened and much anticipated. They took dead space and went above and beyond in the beautification. Setting is stellar; you have Town Park right next to the café and Mt. Tam looking down on it. Kudos to all involved. Outdoor and indoor seating, area outside is fenced in and works for kids and dogs. The café is a short walk from most houses in the area, could be the local on that dog walk! Baked goods and sandwiches, created on site. Sandwiches hit the spot. The café also has a wine/beer license which I think will bring then a ton of business especially if they stay open during the early evening. Few teething problems due to just opening. No card-reader; order took +10 minutes to create.. those are almost to be expected. Food a sandwich a bit on the high cost side for a café, but no complaint on the quality. We wish them well, and this is a welcome addition to the neighbourhood! read more

After three visits, I'm coming to realize this is a sweet little place. There's a bit of a caveat with this review...I've only tried coffee and desserts, so I might adjust this rating later. So far, however, I've been happy with the service as well as the other refreshments. The counter help is gracious...I purchased a brownie, and she offered to heat it up (I never thought of that myself, given the usual minimalist nature of ordering cafe food). I accepted...sat down, with my tea...and she brought out the brownie adorned with whipped cream and a drizzle of chocolate sauce. Totally unexpected, but it is those little touches that can elevate a place. This should become a destination when the weather warms a bit, and the abundant outdoor seating gets more use...particularly from bicyclists heading towards Larkspur and beyond. Love the location of this cute cafe. Great to have a quick but relaxing meal with the family, perhaps after a morning stroll. Everyone who works here is very friendly and wants you to enjoy your time there. There is outdoor seating, as well as indoor seating. I have eaten breakfast and lunch here and enjoyed both meals. The ingredients taste fresh which I love. I had a breakfast sandwich with avocado and they did not skimp on the avocado which was great because restaurants tend to skimp on ingredients like avocado. For lunch I have ordered great salads and when I added chicken it was very tender. Also love the fresh lemon infused water they serve! read more

It was my first visit to this location. It's been on my list of places I'd like to try for a while so I was looking forward to it. The location was clean with nice decor and parking was easy. I wasn't impressed with the food selection though. The salad I orders was listed as having shredded Parmesan cheese over it. What I got was salad with Kraft Parmesan Cheese poured over it. I didn't want to pay $14+ for Kraft cheese. I went to the location thinking of Cafe Verde as a cafe, a type of restaurant. Had I gone with the expectation of this place as a coffee shop with some food options and soccer on the TV, I would have had much a better experience. Plus I would have had a full meal before I went as my Kraft salad was an expensive side salad and not a meal. I may return for coffee and soccer, but that would be it. read more

Slow service. I've only bought bottled drinks and danishes there, but every time it seems to take longer than it should, even it there isn't any one in line before me. I am not sure how that is possible -- it must be a type of time warp. Also, they need to do something with the acoustics -- it is uncomfortably loud inside the cafe. read more

Cafe Verde is in my neighborhood so I am a frequent flyer here. Service always comes with a smile and that is definitely appreciated. Great, sunny patio although you occasionally suck some exhaust fumes coming off the adjacent Tamalpais Drive. Solid Euro beer menu for a place with only 6-taps (Abt-12, Erdinger, Affligem; all served in the correct glassware). Unfortunately, none of the good beers are on the happy hour menu (4-7pm), but there are some tasty 1/2 priced apps like guacamole with naan. The food menu is limited to lunch type fare and is made to order. We do enjoy the various mini macaroons in the dessert display. Two 1/2 liter Weihenstephan and a happy hour appetizer came to $27 after tax. read more

Finally!! It's about. Freaking. Time. FINALLY Marin County has a proper, SoCal-style cafe: situated on a main boulevard, at an intersection, with tons of outdoor seating, tons of sunlight, and super chill and friendly SoCal-style service, it's by far and away the best cafe in in Marin now (others are either in boring shopping malls, don't have much outdoor seating, don't get much sunlight, etc). So: great people / car watching (yup, just saw a sick AMG Benz drive by), tons of sunlight, outdoor seating, free wi-fi, awesome friendly service, and oh, btw, the food is good too!! :) But let's break it down a bit, shall we? PROS: tons of awesome, sunny, outdoor seating at a (relatively) busy intersection offers great people / car watching, free wifi, great / fun / friendly service, fantastic decent-sized mostly international beer tap selection, ever-growing wine selection, really yummy paninis, open till ... wait for it ... 9PM! (By Marin and even SF standards for a cafe, this is a pretty huge deal) CONS: honestly? just one issue, really: the breakfast sandwiches are pretty plus-minus. They use those slabs of pre-made eggs, you know, those egg "block" things. CONCLUSION: this is by far and away my favorite spot in Marin now. To be honest, if they added some couch seating and some gelato, it would be remarkably similar to Cafe Primo in West Hollywood on Sunset Blvd (Yelp it if you don't know it; my favorite cafe in LA.) Exactly what you expect it to be. Great little cafe in seemingly-suburbia but really nice in the mornings on a business day. I worked from the shop until about 1 (when things got loud and there were kids running around) but it's an excellent open-air eating and working area. Super friendly staff, lots of laptop campers but a good place to get some work done and get a good coffee and a quick bite. All of the food looked amazing. read more
