I really love me a yumm bowl :). Had to take away a star because it is a bit over priced for what your getting. If you get it vegan style they will add extra avo free of charge which is nice. And they get major kudos for being one of the few places that prepares tempeh the way I love it. If it was a little less expensive I would eat here a lot more! If you love the taste but not the price I would buy the bottle of yumm sauce and make your own bowls at home! Much more economical. read more

I love Cafe Yumm, but I love it for mostly ONE reason - the Wrap-it, not the wrap, not the bowl, but the wrap-it. My fascination originally lies in burritos themselves - any type of food, put it in a tortilla, wrap it up, and I'm good to go. I love it. The Original Wrap-it (on a wheat tortilla) is more than enough food to put you in that coma you are probably looking for. It's a simple, big burrito for an okay price - $6. It has everything that is in a Yumm bowl, but there is more of it and it's wrapped up like a burrito and I love burritos, did I already say that? So you have: beans, rice, avocado, cilantro, olives, tomatoes, salsa, cheese, and of course, Yumm sauce (may be missing some things). Might I suggest using the tapatio they have on the counters and dousing every bite with it. I honestly don't think Yumm would be good without tapatio - they might want to think about mixing it in with the sauce. Tapatio is CRUCIAL to your yumm experience. If you don't like hot sauce, then...sorry. Most people are turned off by Yumm because they use meat sparingly and the sauce is unique. However, I know many people who gave Yumm a good second try and acquired the taste for it. It's delicious and the sauce has a garbanzo beans base, I cannot remember what else is in it, but take my word for it. The service is not great, however I seem to think the best one to go to is on 18th and Willamette. I believe it's the original. This is a kinda a vegetarian place, they offer chicken on their menu that's why it's not true vegetarian. They serve meat substitute like soy and tempeh. The claim to fame for this place it their original Yum sauce. It's creamy looking like chipotle sauce. They have few different flavors you can request. I like the original. Ask for sample before ordering if this is your first time, they will make you a fresh sample. It's on the semi-healthy side. I love that they also have Sriracha sauce as part of their condiments. I just realized that I haven't yet written a 3-star review yet, so.... Café Yumm isn't BAD by any means. It's not GREAT by any means either. (Well, duh. That's why you gave it a 3, you lout) Yeah, the dishes are kind of simple (where's the pizazz!?). Yeah, they're kind of expensive, too. Though I'm sure most human lifeforms get that odd, periodical craving for rice and beans in mystery sauce. This place satisfies that craving well. It tastes pretty good, but don't expect too much bang (as in quantity) for your buck (US dollar). The one thing that kinda bugs me about this place is how hoity-toity it feels. You walk in to any of them, and you get that faint feeling that the restaurant walls are telling you you're not worthy. Yeah, it's definitely targeted towards THAT segment of "You Jean". This is the kind of place where "green" yuppies go to feel like they're a "global citizen of the world" that "buys local," "eats healthyorganic", and "helps the like, environment, man." Cafe Yumm is great. I love the tofu so much but sometimes it's not cooked very well and is watery and cold. But when it's good, it's good. They used to ask if I wanted a large or small portion but some times they do and sometimes they don't. ??? Not sure what the rule is about this. I go here quite a bit and is common for ingredients to be missing. It really sucks to be charged extra for tofu, get home and it's missing. They repeat it back as you order, and it's on the receipt. I don't know why this happens so much. Extra training and check your work please! I like the option of making a bowl vegan with cabbage and carrots if I'm not feeling dairy. It's wonderful that they make so many substitutions but please please please get it right!! Chicken and tempeh did not taste good. Tried them a while ago and will never order again. Chicken tasted old or something. I've heard this from friends too. Yum yumm! I will always love cafe yumm. Fresh avocado and yummy sauces. I'm currently obsessed with the hot n jazzy yumm bowl. So good. A few times my order has been incorrect through delivery services but I'm not sure how that platform works on their end. I love the fact that if you order your bowl vegan, they toss in extra carrots and cabbage. I always get my yumm!sauce on the side also to reduce calorie count and fat. Employees are friendly and the place is great-- all locations. This one has terrible parking options though. read more

Now they charge premium prices for something with pretty basic ingredients (beans, rice, and toppings) that doesn't require much culinary skill to throw in a bowl together. Here is the low down: They have a vegetarian menu, but they are willing to go vegan if you ask. They also have chicken on the menu for the meat eaters like me. However, the chicken is expensive ($2 extra for a few pieces) and tasteless so I often pass on the meat. If there is a long line don't worry they usually have fast service. The food is fresh and reasonably healthy, I personally am addicted to the Yumm sauce. They also will sub almost anything for something else. They get four stars just for this fact alone. Basically I'm excited to make these at home. This was super delightful and I love the customizability of the Yumm Bowl. Wishing it were easier to buy Yumm sauce in KY. Had a small Yumm Bowl from the restaurant and only wish there'd been more of the special ingredients and less rice. But that's just probably like a duh! thing. Who doesn't want more avocado? This location is located right across the street from where I work so I eat here often. It used to be great, but recently I have had a few unpleasant experiences. I always ask for no tomatoes and the last 2 times I have gone I was given tomatoes. Once I also got a bowl and there were only a few tomatoes, as if they had been picked out. The final straw for me was today when I went the avocado was hard and chewy and there were 2 pieces of avocado skins in my bowl. I don't think I will be eating here again and I will not be recommending it to friends anymore. read more

I've only been to Cafe Yumm once, when I was in Eugene visiting family, and that really is a travesty. Someone needs to get Cafe Yumm to NYC, stat. I got the Jazzy Bowl and it was filling without being heavy, everything was fresh and tasty, and I don't know what they put in the Yumm sauce, but I want it on every meal now. This place is great for lunch, a mid-day snack, or a light dinner. My only regrets about the place are that I only went the once, so I didn't get a chance to try their other menu items, and I live on the wrong coast now to find excuses to go back again! Cafe Yumm! is an excellent alternative to fast food..it's an excellent anytime, anywhere food. Clean cafe, friendly service, fantastic prices, and delicious healthy food. Love creating yumm bowls at home using Yumm! Sauce. My only wish is they'd serve even more Organic and all non-GMO foods, but prices would increase, so it's a trade off. Horrible. This was my go to restaurant. I loved the way they cooked their tofu. Now it's very undercooked. Today was the last straw. Bit into it and it was cold and actually soggy inside. I never really know if the ingredients will be fully cooked or not. I also ordered a 50 cent side of hot sauce. They did actually remember to include it this time but I'd say there was maybe 5 cents worth of sauce in the container. At this point it's too much trouble and too disappointing. read more

When I first moved to Eugene, everyone was raving about Cafe Yumm so naturally I tried it. At the time I was not very impressed, likely because of the sauce which I thought was too heavy on the nooch. 8 years later, I have definitely come around. I eat mainly vegetarian/vegan these days and there have been a number of times that Yumm saved me from having to eat something non-veg when I'm need of something simple and quick. We often have them cater meetings at our office, which is always great and ensures that I'll actually get a free lunch when I go to a meeting! My favorite here is the Chilean zucchini bowl, but I've liked most of the bowls that I've had and the quesadilla with chicken was pretty darn good too. At one point I even attempted to buy the sauce and make bowls at home but somehow they just don't taste the same. read more

I'm an original Yumm-er! Been going since the beginning of time so I have to get snobby when I see how corporate they are getting. Don't get me wrong, I still love the Yumm! I even looked into franchising, but couldn't seem to pull the million dollars it took to start one. They seem to just be raising their prices every year which is why I buy the big fatty bottle and make my own Yumm bowls at home. It boggles the mind that these bowls are completely nutritious, filling, and inexpensive. The bowls are filled with beans and rice (for complete protein), topped with various things signature to each dish, and then covered with cheddar, olives, cilantro, avocado, tomato, sour cream, and the omnipresent Yumm sauce. The Yumm sauce is not as weird as it sounds -- it's "egg free, dairy free, wheat free, gluten free, sugar-free" and really just crazy good. My favorites are the Chilean Zucchini bowl, where they layer the Chilean Zucchini stew over brown rice, and the Edamame bowl, where edamame and nori are on top of the whole bowl. If I'm ever out for lunch (quick or otherwise), this is one of my first choices. read more

I came in and got a medium original "Yum Bowl". The sauce I didn't particularly care for, and especially think it to be anything special. Beans, rice, and a some little additions? Don't go to this location. I order the same thing every time: Original Yumm wrap with jalapeno-sesame salsa, instead of the red, and no olives. They cannot get this right and they make you feel bad for it. When I say I want an Original Yumm wrap I do not mean that I want a Hot 'N Jazzy wrap. Never once do I use the words Hot or Jazzy. So I wait for them to fix my order while why boyfriend's order gets cold. Then they ask if we want utensils. And thank you, we would love some utensils. This lunch is looking up. We get home to eat our wraps and no knives. Good thing I have two clean knives. As I am really enjoying my meal, I pull a thick hair out of my mouth. Yumm bowls are not that healthy!!!! Yumm! sauce is pure fat- out of 170 calories per serving, 150 of it is fat calories. Ya, not so healthy. On top of that, the workers are straight up MORONS. I was ordering my Yumm! bowl and the girl wouldn't even look me in the eyes- horrible customer service. Sometimes you have to wait a long time, and sometimes the food comes out right away, and no it doesn't have to do with how crowded it is, it is the intelligence level of the workers that day. They have a creative menu, I will give them that, and the food is somewhat good which is why I keep coming back, but other than that it just kinda sucks. read more
