Just left Crossgrain Creative Studios in the Orange Circle, turned right and ran into Blue Frog Cafe. Some nice ladies eating outside suggested the Meatloaf sandwich. It was great! Juicy meatloaf, Soft and crusty whole wheat bread, a homemade potato salad side, and topped off with a cookie! Really good home style food, super fast service, and affordable for lunch! Hard to tell how the food is... They got my "to go" order wrong. After a 10 mile drive to-from-and back to, I very irritated! To boot, I did not get a receipt or anything but "sorry". I even gave a $2 tip initially. Now 20 min later I am over breakfast. Last time there for another few years. read more

I passed by Blue Frog a million times before going in because i thought it was just a bakery counter. Turns out it's a whole restaurant in there! I have tried the french toast, chili cheese omelet, and veggie burrito. All three were very tasty, especially the omelet. I love Blue Frog!! Such a cute little place that I love to go to for breakfast or brunch! They have simple yet delicious options for breakfast!! I've never had anything that I haven't liked. Everything is filling and a great price! Wish there was more ventilation inside though, always end up smelling like the food whenever we eat inside. Found this little hole in the wall to be a delightful place to eat. We walked in and placed our order. Within 10 minutes we had our lunch served to us, hot and tasty. I recommend this place for anyone who is looking for a nice place to enjoy a meal with friends. read more

This is the place for breakfast pastries ! They have freshly baked croissants , blueberry scones and banana nut muffins-- warm to the touch! They have a variety of delicious teas at the right temperature (try the chamomile tea for a relaxing morning start.) The staff here are extremely courteous as well, they helped me bring the coffee and baked goods to my car since I had trouble balancing the items. Enjoyed a delicious tuna melt with the best potato salad I've had in quite a while! The real gem of this place however is found in their gorgeous case of pastries and baked goods. Perfect food, a bit rustic on the ambiance!! We had the chicken pot pie which was served in a croissant rather than traditional puff pasty and that was quite a treat! Also the wife had a French dip and not only was the bread excellent, the meat was perfectly salty and delicious! For dessert, apple Danish that was more like an apple pie! More like a 3.5. I went here almost six months ago now and had a pretty darn good chicken sandwich. They cook their chicken on the premises and tastes good - true home made. The meat was a bit of chicken breast (a teensy weensy bit on the drier side but the gals made up for that by slathering mayo on that bun - yuuuummmm) and a bit of dark meat - maybe thigh that was good. I, unfortunately, didn't try anything from the bakery, but the treats just looked amazing. The service is great and has a great atmosphere. Try to sit up on the balcony if you can! read more

I really like this place. My bf and I drive all the way from Newport Beach to have lunch here (and that is on the 55, so a big commitment most times of day). I'm from a small town and a vegetarian, so this is just my style. They make a really interesting vegetarian patty from scratch for the veggie burger which I love, and my boyfriend swears that the veggie breakfast burrito is the best one he's ever had. Our second trip here (we live close by), we were admiring their delightful selection of baked goods. The macaroons! we said, were the size of a 6 yr olds foot. One of the co-owners ( we think) noticed I guess, and sent us over two of them for free. She was so sweet! Here we have two giant chocolate dipped macaroons with our breakfast! Alas, they were snatched up quickly while we waited for our food. My parents order the sourdough french toast (the best they've tasted) and I order their fruit place (always fresh and ripe). This is a review for the service only! I went to Blue Frog to satisfy a sweets craving after seeing reviews on Yelp. I went inside to look at the pastries but couldn't get the girl behind the counter's attention. She didn't acknowledge the order that people should have been helped. I stood there for a moment and then decided to pass in front of her to look in another pastry display case. Still no greeting or acknowledgement. I finally called her over to ask what a couple items were. She answered my question and seemed friendly enough. The items didn't seem fresh and I quickly decided that these sweets weren't what I was looking for and turned to leave. As I opened the door to leave there was an older female employee who had her hands full of dirty plates and cups. I held the door for her and she walked in without even looking at me. What happened to customer service?? This place doesn't have it. I will not be back. read more

I love blue frog for their pastries. I've had lunch only a few times, and it's OK. I've been going since it opened. Their pastries are about 2.5 servings and at around $2.50 a piece it's well worth the price. Anywhere else in the Orange Circle for pastries won't be as satisfying. I love the chocolate croissants, cinnamon twists, palmiers (elephant ears), bread pudding, and have enjoyed everything else in the pastries display. I've had some of the desserts in the dessert display and most are really good, but some can be really rich. If you want to guarantee a satiated sweet-tooth, Blue Frog is where I go. read more

A little slice of heaven! My pastry was huge and they had quite a selection to choose from. We went pretty early on a Sunday morning and its a good thing too because it was consistently busy and they started running out of certain items. I got a bear claw and it was still warm!
