This place is what it's supposed to be, a cafe, that's why I'll give it 5 stars. The prices are decent, with the cheapest things on their menu being under $5 after taxes. I've been here many times and have never encountered a bad experience with their management, like other reviews have said. I've actually had many meetings here and not everyone bought something, and nothing was said to us. It's not to discredit anyone else's experience, but if you're going to sit here-- you should've bought something before you sat down. Common sense, that an establishment would be for customers only. Now, is everything on their menu amazing? No. But, it's a cafe. Expect cafe quality food. One thing I love here is the banana bread dessert. 10/10 would recommend. I've had their sandwiches, and it's cafe sandwich quality lol. The seats along the walls have plugs, which is nice. There's plenty of seating here as well. During the day it's quiet, at night people come here to chill, so unless you're good with people talking, wouldn't recommend studying here at night if it's SUPER important. The desserts were $30 for 2 people and our dinner for 3 at the restaurant in the same shipping center was only $40. Not only their prices were high, they are quite stingy about their condiments. Caffe Bene is a perfect cafe for those who need a good third-place work space or study space. They have low seats and larger tables for disabled individuals, seating specifically for laptop users with charging ports, and reserved seating for those who want to host smaller gatherings with friends or family. It is important to keep in mind that their WiFi is not free and they change the password daily. You must purchase an item in order to get their daily WiFi password, which will be found at the bottom of your receipt. It's pretty sensory friendly; they mostly play very casual cafe music on a lower volume. As far as food, their drinks and food items are very much Korean-inspired. Do not expect to come here and eat to get full. They offer sandwiches, but the price point does not fit the portion; I do like their Teriyaki Chicken sandwich though if I had to choose. Their drinks are what's more unique - I definitely recommend their Caribbean Mojito or Misugaru Latte. This place has a lot of potential, but will likely never meet that potential under the current management. The workers often seem short staffed (e.g. take more than 15 minutes to complete your order). If there is a line forming and there is only one person working on drinks, the manager/owner walking around does not step in to help. When they're about to close, they play an obnoxious children's song, signaling to everyone that "it's time to go home" (forgot I was a child ). If you're into studying, there are a handful of outlets scattered throughout, but not enough for the amount of people that normally use them. To top it off, they shut off their 2mbps Wi-Fi 15 minutes before closing, which you can only access after purchasing something (because free Wi-Fi is not cool ‍). This is one of those places where you come for the atmosphere where presentation does not match the substance of the food items. There's an easy-going and lackadaisical type of aura in this cafe which is also reflected by the type of service you get too. I ended up getting a spicy chicken sandwich and green tea latte. This cost me $17.85. This is quite expensive for the low quality of the food considering that other cafes would charge around $13 for a sandwich and a drink. It took them 10 minutes to make my latte and 20 minutes to make the sandwich even though it wasn't busy. The spicy chicken sandwich is one of those sandwiches where they put a disgusting spicy sauce in the sandwich to meet the spicy requirement. Not only did it make the sandwich taste bad, but it wasn't even spicy. The green tea latte was fairly good though. All in all, overpriced food where you don't get any bang for your buck. read more

I was with my toddler that has a condition as soon as I went in the barista a young man told me that my son who was listening to his iPad without headphones to put the volume down. Despite the plethora of negative reviews, I wanted to try and support this business as there are not many Korean cafes in the Torrance area. I really want them to do well. However, similar to other reviews, I received lackluster service, weird communication regarding my order, and the prices were just insane for what it was worth. I paid $19 for 1 americano, 1 cappuccino and one ice cream. The coffee wasn't even good - tasted super burnt, and I was a bit frustrated they charged me for one thing but the barista recommended something else which I said yes to but I still ended up getting my original order? Confusing. If I pay that much for coffee - I expect it to taste like good quality coffee. I think with the right manager who invests in training the staff and upping the caliber of their hard skills and soft skills, this place could really become great and bring in a lot more revenue. Looking for a cafe to relax, study, or catch up with friends? Look no further! To me, the most important aspect of a cafe is the interior space, and so far this is my favorite spot in the Torrance area. This place is clean and spacious with good natural lighting. It's neither too loud nor too quiet. The table arrangement is well-thought-out as well. The area in the back is great for studying with outlets along the wall (and convenient bathroom access). The area in the front is great for friends/groups wanting to have a casual conversation. The middle area kinda serves both purposes. I could also see this place as a solid date spot. You are required to purchase something to get the Wi-Fi password (the Wi-Fi is on the slower side in my experience), and I can see that being a point of criticism since the food/drinks here can be quite pricey. But I understand this business model and I can't really fault it. I generally don't go to cafes expecting outstanding food/drinks (unless that's what they're known for), so I'm always impressed by the wide selection here. There's a lot of sweets, which I have yet to try for the most part. I always get their signature Misugaru Latte, which has a nice balance of nuttiness and sweetness. Their sandwiches are not bad if you want something savory (the portabella one is pretty good). Keep in mind that this is still, by and large, a cafe, not a specialty dessert place, so just manage your expectations. All in all, Caffe Bene offers a multifunctional, relaxing, and comfortable space that has yet to disappoint me. The food/drink options are decent, albeit on the pricier side. Spacious with plenty of seating and calm ambiance. It was pretty warm out when we came so naturally a cold boba sounded like the perfect choice. I was curious to try the Misaguru, which tasted like oatmeal in slushy form. It wasn't bad and definitely the healthier option if you break down the ingredients (that's what I tell myself at least ha). I was very disappointed by the hard boba at the bottom :( something that all boba lovers dread to find. The green tea multilayered crepe was very delicious. It was fluffy and not overly sweet. Can't say the same about the lavender milk tea... apparently the lavender syrup makes the drink a bit on the sweeter side. Spacious place with plenty of seating and WiFi for the studious types. Quiet cafe popular for study groups. Some unique cafe options like the grain drinks. I'm mostly rating this place for the facility to study but not so much of the food and drinks. The atmosphere is calm. The entire place is kept clean and there are a lot of seats. It is pretty popular especially among students so it might be hard to find a table for a big group. Service is fine but when I walked in there was nobody at the counter or anywhere I could see so I just took a seat and came back 5 min later when one lady came back to the front. The lady who took my order was polite and efficient. I only got a regular brewed coffee but you can also have light meals or sweets. They play classic music but it's not too loud. Most people are there to study together or type on the computers. The tables are small but there is one long table in the back if you don't mind sharing seats with others. People share the plugs so watch out for the codes when you pass tables with computers. Thee are two wifi available for you to access. Keep the receipt to see the password. 5G one was pretty fast. The parking was surprisingly hard because the strip mall is relatively small and some open spots were only for 15 min or some other restaurants. I guess in a way, that means businesses here are doing good!? I didn't want to take a chance so drove around once and found a spot in the center of the whole parking lot. Getting tired of overpriced Starbucks? My daughter and I sure was and she needed a place to study. Starbucks is no longer the fun nor comfortable place it used to be. As my persistent daughter is, after a search she found Cafe Bene and so here we are. The place is a wonderful cafe/ desert shop/ ice cream shop and study place all in one with a distinct Korean twist. Sophie ordered a strawberrynana smoothie while I ordered the healthy drink Misugaru which is a combination of black bean black rice barley brown rice and sesame. I ordered it as hot drink though it's available cold if you desire. Gotta tell you this drink is creamy sweet delicious. No other way to describe it than for you to try it. The music selection of nice jazz gives the place a very good flair. One problem is the temperature of the place is a bit on the warm side. As for the deserts and ice cream, we will need to visit another time as we just had lunch. As Sophie needed a place to study, this place has WiFi and distinct areas for studying as evidenced by so many students with their laptops. So, now we have a definite go to place for studying and simple coffee or more exciting drinks than Starbucks cloud offer and not feel priced to death. The best part of Caffe Bene is sharing it with your friends! It has a huge seating area and large parking area conducive to hosting big groups. Chasing down Yelp Friends as they wind their way down from Pasadena through the OC then up through South Bay is no easy feat! I finally caught up to them at Caffe Bene. While most of the crew was tired from visiting Tanaka Farms and seeing the lights at Sleepy Hollow, and still full from the Breakfast Club, Lunch at Vox and Dinner at Gen AYCE BBQ, these die hard Yelpers still had night caps of CB's specialty misugaru lattes (healthy grains that taste like sweetened cream of wheat bran), Lava-flows, and decadent Strawberry Waffles to share. Searching for dessert after dinner, Tim found this place which has other locations. Alana said that this Caffe Bene is larger than another one she had been to. Besides its spacious interior, this location has free parking, convenient restroom and friendly staff. The colorful food and drink displays as well as picture menus help customers with their ordering process. I got the Strawberry Waffle with whipped cream and fresh strawberries...wow!!! The thin, crisp layer of caramelized sugar on the waffle really enhanced the texture. I enjoyed the hearty bites of the perfectly cooked waffle. The chocolate syrup balanced out the tartness of the berries... Wow! I also got the Mango Mojito drink, thanks to the recommendation from the cashier. It was awesome with the refreshing mint leaves, tart berries, and tiny bits of real mango. I'd get this again, too! There was ample seating areas and we didn't feel rushed to leave. This place is really unassuming on the outside, in the corner of a plaza, but inside is really cute and pleasant. The space inside is quite large, and has ample seating for studying and chatting with friends. If I lived closer to this restaurant, I would definitely frequent this place to study. I ordered an iced vanilla coffee with oat milk- it was just okay. The flavors didn't wow me, but it gave me the caffeine boost I needed. I also got the strawberry cream cheese toast- this is definitely not a breakfast item. It's more of a dessert, it's super sweet and I couldn't finish it myself, so make sure you bring a friend to share. We also ordered the spicy chicken sandwich, which was a lot bigger than expected and so good as it was toasted with melty cheese on top. I like coming here for the occasional cup of gelato. The gelato is good and satisfying but, not great. Vanilla is yummy and so is their cookies and cream. I've had a cup of coffee here once and it was alright. My sweetie has had smoothies here and rates them 3.5ish. For the small cup of gelato and smoothie will run $11 total. I won't eat their pricey sandwiches here as they do not have vegetarian options. The servers are pleasant and a little on the shy side. CB is on the tail end of the plaza of various eateries and businesses. There is usually parking on the street at Loch Ness. The lot is usually right and a hassle to get in and out of. What a beneficial caffe I happened upon by aimless wandering. I was in need of coffee and happened to be in this plaza when I saw Caffe Bene. From the outside in, I saw a clean, spacious, and wondrous study space. When I entered, I saw that that clean, spacious, and wondrous study space was a lot larger than I imagined. With that being said, there were plenty of people studying and doing work. Caffe Bene serves your standard coffee, lattes, and what not but they also serve sweets and waffles and other bites. As per trendy study spot/coffee joint protocol, expect pricier items... like $5 for a drink and $10 for food. Their multigrain latte or whatever was quite interesting. It felt like I was drinking oatmeal and cereal mixed with a latte... so it'll be a hit for some and a major miss for others. Parking is fairly ample depending on the time of day and access to the wifi is possible only by purchasing an item and finding the password at the bottom of your receipt. read more
