At first read, Caffe Concerto had me thinking of La Cordo 'd Oro. Something about classical music playing in the background, enjoying a nice cup of tea with delicious sweets. Somehow, part of that thought process was true. Right in the middle of Koreatown lies a bunch of restaurant/cafes, and Caffe Concerto happens to be on the side street of Serrano. Once I drove by and saw the parking lot, I opted for the streets, because there was NO way I was going to put my car into a parking lot that was designed for experience drivers who know how to park. (I am one of them, at the same time, I'm not risking scratching someone's luxury car with my sedan.) LOVE the decor; very high class, classy, romantic, host club. I felt like I was walking onto a Korean drama set, without the sappy music playing in the background. A good amount of servers out on the floor and behind the counter. Not knowing what I wanted, I walked around the cake display and REALLY wanted to pound down all of those sweets. Instead, I reverted back to the menu on the glass and decided on something random, when the server told me that the glass menu is REALLY old and handed me a cute menu to look at my options instead. Because of that, I decided on the tiramisu drink, along with two macarons, the black sesame and the Caffe Concerto. Especially with the whole black/white trend going on, I though why not? A macaron named after your cafe? It has to be good. Didn't take too long to get my order, and love how the server placed my two macarons into two to-go sauce containers. Granted, the shells did crack a little when she stuffed them into there, it was a smart move, instead of putting them into a bag when it can crack more or crumble. Tiramisu wasn't too heavy as I thought it was going to be, not too heavy on the chocolate and the taste of coffee was still there. LOVE both macarons and regretted not getting more. $2 per macaron is a bit steep, at the same time there are some flavors you can't find easily plus the macaron was perfect in every way: flavor, texture, filling, color. EVERYTHING. I want to come back here again and again and again. Just one visit has me hooked to K-Town cafes. Just remember, Caffe Concerto was the first one to start it all. A side note, I think this is the first time that I have seen Cauasian workers as servers. Not a bad thing to point out, just a rarity to find in Koreatown. read more

Came here after going to a show at the nearby Wiltern. CAKE OF THE DAY ($8) - slice of OPERA CAKE WITH BANANA PUREE IN BETWEEN, small macaron, and a DARK CHOCOLATE CUP WITH CHOCOLATE MOUSSE AND CARAMEL ON THE BOTTOM - the cake itself was very moist and light; not sweet at all - the chocolate cup probably used the same chocolate mousse as the cake but I liked that the caramel wasn't too sweet - the macaron was decent but I am not sure what flavor it was MACARON ($2/EACH) - EARL GREY: good hints of earl grey flavor, but definitely not my favorite place - MILK AND RASPBERRY: not my cup of tea; too milky for my taste - not the best place to get macarons..probably because I've had some in France at Pierre Hermes, which in my opinion has the best LAVENDER TEA LATTE ($5) - initial taste was good but then afterwards was "meh" - lacked a strong lavender flavor - eventually just tasted like slightly flavored warm milk - would NOT recommend SERVICE: Very friendly personnel that are very accommodating. They refilled our water multiple times, which really helped quench our thirst after the concert. It's also nice that they close late! ENVIRONMENT: Great ambiance. Feels like your in a different part of town for a bit. It feels upscale, intimate, and chic. The place is separated based on bar, sit down meal, or dessert. They also valet since it's a small lot. Overall, great place to come for dessert. The desserts may not be the best but it is a cool place to grab a drink or hang out with a friend at night. The prices will be on the higher end but it's a different ambiance that adds some class. read more

This is very nice place to hang out and eat. We had tapas and dinner there, and every single dish was delicious! There's a lot of seating, whether outside or indoor or the covered patio, so sit whatever your mood or ocassion desires. We also ordered coffee, a slice of the awesome blueberry shortcake, and got some complimentary macaroons as a kind gesture for accidently not putting our shaved ice order in. After we paid bill, we chatted for at least an hour more and didn't feel any pressure from the staff to head out. Waiters are great with filling your water cup too. Valet parking is $2 so don't worry about finding parking on the street. They park your car in the back lot if the front is full. read more

Not bad--their macarons, texturally, were pretty good, but probably not worth the nearly $3 it cost for one. I had the cookies and cream macaron, but it came out purple...which was weird. My friend had the Earl Grey macaron which she said tasted delicious. Their vanilla latte (hot) was okay--nothing particularly special. They charge a $20 cake fee (if you bring your own cake and want to eat it there.) Service was alright...they refilled water once (we sat out on the patio section) and they didn't tend to us for the rest of the time we were there. Servers were friendly. They have valet parking, which you can potentially avoid if you can find metered parking. The atmosphere is welcoming, bright, and vibrant. I'd come back here, but I wouldn't particularly crave it at some random point in the day. If I felt like having fancy desserts, or had friends from out of town visiting, I'd probably take them here. read more

The gorgonzola pizza was so tasty especially with their honey, and the carbonara was very creamy and rich in flavours. The salad wasn't really my favourite but it was alright. The mango shaved ice was a bit disappointing as the mango wasn't fresh and seemed to be frozen mango. The macarons were heavenly good though. read more

This place was really cute and the food was pretty good. My family and I got the kimchi carbonara, mentai pasta, and nashigoreng. The kimchi carbonara and nashigoreng fine but the mentai pasta was incredible. However, the people next to us were drinking and smoking cigarettes. So, Ik was kind of uncomfortable while eating. read more

Went for their soft opening, and fell in love with their macarons! Possibly the best macarons in ktown ever!! They have lots of unique and a variety of flavors to choose from. I highly recommend: rasberry mascarpone, cheesecake, & match flavors. I promise you won't regret. Oh, and they are $1.95 each which can be kinda steep,butt macarons are pricey in general. Will probably come again when they have grand opening to try out their food! All the waiters here are friendly, which is a plus! read more

We came here on a Sunday for afternoon tea. What a beautiful place. Nice ambience, comfy chairs, pretty people. The coffee was good, the squid ink pizza was decent (kind of Asian style, but good). I didn't try the macaron but the presentation was really nice. Overall, this place is a great place for coffee or tea, a light snack and some sweets. Nice! read more

Really liked this place. It's tucked away in Ktown and you really wouldn't realize it's there unless you've heard of it. There's no street parking near it but valet parking was only $2 so that was totally worth it. We were greeted by a good looking host and seated right away. The menu has a lot fancy appetizers and there was a big wine list. We decided to get a glass of wine and the cheese appetizers and macarons, The wine was good and the cheese platter was pretty large for its price. It had a good mix of cheeses and dried and fresh fruit. We had the green tea and salted caramel Macaron and they were both good. I think the green tea one was better though. Overall cute place. I definitely want to come back and order dinner next time! read more

Have you ever wanted to be part of a Korean Drama, or at least eat in the places that they do. Well, have a meal here and that is how you will feel minus someone getting hit by a car and temporarily losing their memory. This is a little hidden gem off the beaten path. They have a great selection of desserts and the entrees are really good. I HIGHLY recommend the Lobster pasta dish they have. It is an amazing deal and taste fantastic. The lobster was prefectly cooked and the pasta was al dente. Everyone around me had food envy. They serve this dish in a giantic bowl so it definitely caused a scene, but the bowl was very useful in that its odd shape kept the red sauce splatter in the bowl and off of my shirt. Clearly, they put a lot of thought in selecting the bowl. Come to think of it, you can tell the owners took the time and hand picked each thing in here. Everything just very "posh" and the ambiance of this place truly is amazing. You can follow up your meal with some dessert. They have all sorts of cakes and macaroons. Bear in mind they don't serve alcoholic drinks in the afternoon. Parking can be an issue here at night. Good thing they have valet, but in the afternoon it is pretty easy to find parking. If you are looking for a place to go with your girls for afternoon tea/after church lunch come here you definitely will not be disappointed. I took my parents here in the afternoon and returned later that evening with a date and both parties were very pleased and impress with the place. They also have an out door patio and if your are still cold with the heaters they will give you blankets that they actually wash and keep clean. There is a k. bbq place next door that I have heard good things about but will write about that next time. Definitely my go to place when I am back in LA and need to entertain folks. Great food, service and ambiance. read more

I went here for a birthday dinner with a close friend. As soon as we walked in the atmosphere was welcoming and intimate. I honestly did not expect a place like this in KTown. I have gotten accustomed to the bright lighted and loud restaurants. This was a nice change. There are 3 different places for you to enjoy your meal and or drinks here (upstairs, an enclosed area that looks more like the bar, and the front dining area). We were seated almost immediately. It was a little dark to read the menu (I think that would be one of my only cons about this place). I loved the bread that came out before our meals. My friend and I ordered the Linguine Vongole and another pasta dish, I forget the name of it but it was a light red sauced based. The portions were pretty big and I was able to take leftovers home for lunch the next day. The service was pretty good and attentive. There was a point in time when I felt our server forgot about us... lol After our meals, we went inside to the bakery section to check out their pastries. There was an assortment of cupcakes and tart slices. I cannot forget to mention their macaroons! I'm not the biggest fan of macaroons, but when I find a place with good macaroons I understand why people like them. I got the milk and salted caramel flavors. They also allow you to sample some before purchasing them so that's always nice. I will definitely come here again. If you come here for the pasta, it's not going to be the typical pasta restaurants you go to. This place caters to the palate of its audience and to me had a lighter taste compared to other pasta restaurants. read more

I recently overheard the manager tell the bartender that they're going to be closing earlier and earlier if they don't get business later on in the hours, which is a HUGE bummer because that is how my friend and I found out about this place. I was really surprised at how delicious these macarons were! I was even more surprised that the worker there had no idea that macarons were French. Uhm, what? My favorites that I tried were the steamed milk and the Earl Grey. Together, they tasted much better than Earl Grey lattes. I was a bit skeptical about the steamed milk, but I was amazed at how much it tasted like steamed milk that has been frothed at a cafe. I'm craving them, and they are so cute. Tip: If you go closer to closing time, they will give you as many free samples as you want! Score. read more

I absolutely love this place! The service is incredible, the interior and the ambience is top notch, and the drinks and dessert are incredible! I had the earl grey milk tea and it was sooooo good. It was milky but you still get the flavor of the tea coming through. It is a great balance. I also tried the green tea latte and it wasn't too sweet and had a strong matcha flavor. It was really great. We had to move tables 3 times because of some miscommunication between the servers and the server apologized and gave me and my friends some macaroons to try, which I thought was super sweet. The macaroons were pretty good. The texture isn't as great as bottega louie but the flavor profile is wayy better than bottega. I tried the earl grey, espresso, turquoise, and salted caramel. The earl grey had a great deep tea flavor and it was literally like I was drinking earl grey out of a cup. Very good. The espresso flavor was like having a shot of espresso! The flavor was very bold and was fantastic. The turquoise was really good because of the great combination of sweet cream and raspberry jam. It was like eating a piece of cheesecake! Sooo goood. Lastly, the salted caramel was delicious as well and I especially liked it becaue the caramel wasn't runny. It had a nice solidity to it and the saltiness just topped it all off. I will definitely come back to this place to try the food and to maybe enjoy some wine and cheese with friends! read more

A romantic cafe restaurant in ktown that dishes up Italian-style good eats! I'd say it was not a bad pick for a semi-fancy and intimate birthday party gathering. This cozy restaurant was able to accommodate a large dinner party of 20 without any issue. The manager and staff were friendly and helpful. The menu consisted of Italian-inspired foods, alcohol, cafe drinks, and desserts. I ordered the chocolate souffle, chai tea latte, and the almond praline and earl grey macarons. Excellent souffle and chai tea latte, but the macarons were nothing special, and the earl grey had an off-putting restroom soap aroma to it. The B&B (coke and espresso) drink that my bf ordered out of curiosity had an odd taste to it. I didn't get to try much of their savory items, but they looked and sounded pretty tasty. Caffe Concerto has the perfect setup for any occasion, whether it be for a casual hangout among friends or for hosting a special event. read more

So adorable. This is *the* cutest Koreatown restaurant I've ever been in. Wandered here with a friend after we missed the correct exit on the highway. Parking is atrocious, but fortunately $2 valet. When we walked in, I wasn't expecting much but was blown away by the cute layout. They've crammed a lot of rooms into a tiny space. But they've done anything correctly; the ambiance definitely impressed me in every area (sleek wine bar, outside patio/dining area, indoor macaroon and cookie shop, upstairs dining). Service is muy excelente. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating. So far, I've tried the Kimchi Carbonara (5 stars, if you enjoy rich creamy pasta) and the Spaghetti Bolognese (3.5 stars, b/c it was a bit watery). I've also purchased a few macaroon boxes as work presents. I normally don't go for 'roons since the per-cookie price usually appalls me, but I thought I'd make an exception since the flavors here seem very unique and tasted of good quality. read more

This would be my girlfriend's 2nd time here in 2 days. She first came here because she was eating dinner with her girls and wanted to get them Macaroons as a present. She happened to stumble through this place via Yelp. She called me later that evening and told me that the Macaroons were "Bombies." She isn't a huge fan of Macaroons and neither am I. The following day, she was going to have dinner with her best friend and godson, but first wanted to pick up the Macaroons again. She asked me to come along and accompany her. We had brought some over to the house and for my family to try. They absolutely loved each macaroon! My dad isn't much a sweet tooth guy, but I recalled him eating 5 Macaroons. The Macaroons are basically the best thing ever and now I am officially a fan! I actually really enjoyed their black sesame macaroon even though I don't like back sesame. I love how the macaroons are flavorful, and most of them are chewy! Pistachio one was my favorite! They also have some that were made of milk. Service is always excellent; everyone is helpful and friendly. The girl was very patient with us while my girlfriend took a while to pick out her flavors :) thanks patient girl! Tip: There is self-parking in the back lot behind the cafe read more

I am absolutely in love with this place. I like to check out different cafes around ktown because each has so many things to offer. I'm a die hard try every place possible and don't go back unless its amazing. So far, since I've found this place I've gone back 4 times. That's a lot-considering in the past year the only place I go to more than once are restaurants near my work. Everything about the cafe is perfect- the ambiance, the service and the food. There are different sections to the place depending on your mood: classy, vintage-modern, Moroccan, or bar scene. They have it all!! Literally. The owner is super cute too. When I went there for my birthday, he made sure the waitresses included candles on their blueberry cake and have me a box of macarons! So precious. Not much I can say about this place besides the fact that its amazing. If you hate it, fine. Less people for me to fight for seating when I go!!! read more

HOLY MACARON! My new fave spot for these expensive little gems. Red velvet MACARON IS SOOO GOOD.ive never even seen this flavor anywhere else and they seem to have perfect that red velvety taste. This spot is cool tho, super cute and has a cool bar with TVs too. Great patio and I think it's two stories. Didn't explore much but from what I saw it is def. different from your typical Ktown cafe! Well crafted and delicious french macarons! Although the menu indicated it was $2 each they actually raised their prices to $2.40 but thats fine since the macarons were really good. All the flavor combinations were great, slight crunch when bitten into, chewy, and the filling is the best part mix into with the chewy-crunch bite of the outer shell altogether. Besides Lette' I really enjoyed this place for macarons will be back for more! read more

Caffe Concerto is such an unexpected surprise in the heart of Koreatown. I came here a few years ago and came for the second time last night. For a place like this, I would expect to pay more. I would compare this place to Bottega Louie. Even though Bottega Louie is A LOT bigger, they both have macarons and yummy Italian food. The decor is cute and charming. We ordered 3 types of seafood pastas to share between 3 girls. All of which were amazing in my opinion. The pasta with the seafood mix was not as flavorful as the other two. The lobster and clam pastas were perfect. I also saw a large selection of wines and cocktails. And before we left, I just had to pick up some turquoise macarons. They are to die for! read more

Listen, I love Korean food as much as the next self-respecting Korean person does, but it's so nice to have alternatives in my fair neighborhood of Ktown! :) Caffe Concerto is a lovely venue that is part bakery but mostly restaurant (I'm only reviewing the restaurant piece). It's not cheap here, but it's not crazy expensive for what you get, particularly given the atmosphere and consistently friendly service. The last few times we sat in the bar area, which is quite comfortable - they have a handful of high top tables along with a full bar that leads out to one of the two semi-outdoor areas. We weren't that adventurous with our ordering here, mainly because the formula we've found there works so well: salad + pizza to share along with a bottle of wine (I particularly like their dry rose). I think the thin, squid ink crust to their pizza is pretty tasty, and the salads were fresh. They have good-sized portions so I recommend sharing. Would I recommend that people go out of their way to come here? Mmmmmm... perhaps not, as there are so many nice Italian-ish places around. But if you find yourself in or around Ktown and are looking for a nice lunch or dinner place with a full bar, decent wine list and some non-Korean food dining, this is a solid option to consider. read more

**This review is strictly for their macarons. WOWIE, their macarons are mm mm good. I normally don't like trying macarons from Korean cafes cause I've never really found ones I liked (most of them are tasteless to me), but the ones from Caffe Concerto's are the exception. I'd definitely recommend any macaron lover to try theirs cause wow, I'm still craving some as I'm typing out this review. They are a bit on the expensive side ($2.50 for one), but I'd say they're definitely worth a try. For anyone wondering I tried: Espresso Red Velvet Turquoise (it has a slight raspberry filling & is actually their most popular flavor) Pistacchio Black Sesame Salted Caramel Service was super friendly and helpful; the waiter outside followed me in and helped recommend which macarons to pick cause their selection is huge and a girl can only buy so much when she's on a budget. I'm also in love with their decor - really elegant, clean, and classy. I definitely plan on coming back here to try their other desserts and food sometime soon when I'm out in LA again. read more

This review is about lunch at 2pm on a Saturday. Not the bakery or any desserts. So i live one block from here. We were looking for somewhere to have lunch, a drink and sit outside on a Saturday afternoon. I remembered that this place has an outside patio area. Done! We got there and missed the part at the top of the cocktail menu that said drinks weren't served before 5 and we tried ordering drinks. So disappointment there but whatever, on to ordering. Dishes ordered: 1. Lettuce Wraps- have shrimp and mushroom in them. The shrimp tasted like the cooked cocktail shrimp you can get in the frozen aisle. So it was overcooked but the pieces were cut up so it's whatever. Needed salt, seasoning, idk something. 2. Portobello mushroom fries- meh. The crust outside part is tasty. The rest was whatever. 3. Combination Pizza on the squid ink bread. The crust was nice. There was too much on the pizza and it tasted soggy with the middle being the soggiest part. The onions tasted uncooked and all the ingredients just tasted like they were missing something or off. we also had 2 beers and it came out to $60. There was plenty of food leftover, which may have been partially due to everything being blah. This was such a disappointing lunch. I was really hungry too so i probably ate more than i would have if i hadnt been. Honestly, wouldnt go back to have food. Maybe desserts or drinks after 5 pm. read more

This is a review for their macarons only since I haven't tried anything else (yet). The macarons are of very high quality and have the perfect flavors and consistency. They are pricey but worth every single penny! The macarons look delicate and don't have any overly artificial colors that make them look cheap. My favorite flavor is the earl grey. :) read more

This place is just ok. I like the fact that it's open really late and it has a wide variety of things on the menu, but the quality is not too good. The service is not good either. You may not see your server for over 30 mins at times. They almost always get your order wrong too. However their selection for alcoholic drinks are good. read more

Had the iced latte and blueberry shortcake. Coffee was delicious, cake was just the right amount of sweet and service was great! My only complaint was that the area I was seated had an overwhelming smell of fish. Then I noticed almost everyone was eating some sort of seafood pasta... but still, it wasn't really an appetizing fishy smelly. Parking is either street or $2 valet for lunch. read more

Love this place. I take my girlfriend here all the time after a night out in LA to relax and unwind. Atmosphere (5/5): Very cute and classing depending if you want to sit in the downstairs patio or upstairs "Library" themed room. Food/Drinks (4/5): Desserts were a little on the sweet side for my tastes but I know a good amount of people who would love the desserts here. Macarons are a must here although they're on the pricey side. Drinks (coffee and smoothies) were nothing special but they hit the spot after a night out. FIRE HAZARD. I'll get to that in a second. I often come here and have always enjoyed myself, eating cake and macarons, drinking yummy cocktails and coffee, and having good conversation in a very classy and welcoming atmosphere. Caffe Concerto WAS always one of my favorite 5-star cafes in Ktown (especially for their above-standard macarons and despite their pricey menu), but when I left with BURNT HAIR after one particular visit, I had to reconsider. I was standing, waiting to go to the downstairs bathroom, when after a few minutes, I heard the very unpleasant sound of something singeing and burning. Quickly I patted away at my back, and felt the horrible feeling that something on me was burnt. My sister came out of the bathroom and I asked her if my cardigan was burnt, and she just said, "Oh no...." A good chunk of my hair was burnt off. Behind me while I had been waiting was a tall corner table (one of those that come up to your chest), and on the edge of the table were two candles, just simply out in the open and aflame, NOT in a jar or any protective candle holder. There is not much room to wait outside of that downstairs bathroom, and I was waiting like any normal person would in front of that table. Maybe I should apologize for having long hair, but there is absolutely NO GOOD REASON to have candles lying out in the open. Sure, I understand that it is a decorative effort, and having candles in mason jars or whatnot is totally fine. But out in the open, it is a FIRE HAZARD. This may sound like a comical story about a poor girl's hair being burnt, but it's a serious issue and I'm lucky to not have had my cardigan catch on fire and burn my skin. I told the manager (Korean male, late 20s-early 30s?), who was extremely apologetic. He told me that those candles should NEVER have been there and apologized profusely. Although he didn't even offer to take care of our check (which honestly would have been a nice touch considering his customer's hair just got burnt off for his restaurant's mistake), I just told him to never leave candles out like that so no one else's hair would be burned off. Maybe I should have been more upset, but I'm usually a very nice person and I just hoped for anyone else's sake that those candles would never be put there in such a miscalculated spot again. So I left, despite this incident, still considering Caffe Concerto one of my fave cafes. Yesterday, I went again with my family, and to my disbelief, the same candles were out in the open, aflame on the edge of the tall table in front of the bathroom. Obviously the manager did not take his customer's hair being burnt in his own restaurant seriously AT ALL and simply left those candles as is, and that immediately made me lose my respect for him and this establishment. FIRE is ALWAYS a serious issue, and the fact that those candles were still there pissed me right off and I honestly do not ever want to go back and spend my money to support this restaurant. *** WARNING!!! DANGER!!!*** (Read to the end) The service here is absolutely below par (never seen such horrible service in my life). I came here with 4 friends and we ordered coffees and desserts and it took 30 plus mins to get 3 of the 5 coffees and 45mins to get 2 of the 3 desserts and we never even got spoons or napkins for them that we asked for twice, we also never got the waters we asked for 3 different times with 3 different staff members. The thing that really ticked us off was we ordered a creme brûlée the last ONE! We know it was the last one because a couple that just sat down behind us after we ordered 35mins ago tried to order one and their waiter told them they were completely out... 5 mins later they magically got a creme brûlée. OUR CREME BRÛLÉE that was given to them obviously by their friends. I would not recommend coming here unless you want to go work behind the counter yourself and make/serve your own coffees, desserts, napkins, utensils, etc. We could not even get the very BASIC essential services expected at any restaurant/cafe. I've had a million times better and excellent service from Denny's than this establishment . It also took 15 plus mins just for the manager to fix this debacle when we just wanted nothing more than the check so we could just leave the place and that wasn't even happening for us, we were trapped there, it was like being stuck with nowhere to go watching a complete disaster. Also, the last 2 coffees came out when we only started to leave and after the manager waived our bill for ONLY the 3 of 5 coffees that ever showed up after like what seemed like hours. Hour or so for coffee to show up after our other friends were finished with their 3??? That is absolutely unacceptable for a so called professional establishment. Oh, then I started to receive unwanted harassing, threatening to harm and come hunt me down type mentally unstable stalker private messages on the same night as well as the next morning by one of the female servers named Bienca that was there that night. Does this establishment do any kind of background check on their employees prior to hiring??? If you decide to come to this establishment it is at your own risk, watch out for this mentally disturbed female server named Bienca. this was my first time at caffe concerto! and I like this place. the décor of the place is so pretty/nice and so unexpected. Food is really good !!! Here is what my friends and I ordered and what I got to try: I tried the red sauce lobster pasta ( which I loved), the cream sauce lobster pasta ( which is also to die for), the squid ink mushroom pizza ( which was just okay~), the squid ink veggie pizza ( also just okay), truffle fries ( which was sooo good), Indonesian fried rice ( yummy ) & calamari ( which was good too) Dessert: Macarons and cake! I really want to come back here for their blueberry cake, the blueberries are fresh blueberries that are frozen so you get this special surprise in every bite... MMMmmm I am still thinking about the cake... I would definitely come here again. I'm really going to have to try this place a few more times to get a real feel for it, but this was my first time here, so take it with a grain of salt. The place is really nice. Large, airy, different. We were first seated upstairs, which was really stuffy. And by stuffy I mean hot. We were sweating. Also, we were up there for over 5 minutes and no real acknowledgement, so we made way downstairs to be seated outside. Oddly enough they took our menus away. Outside we were seated in a weird dirt area, but we got blankets (LOVELY touch with the wrap) to keep warm if we needed to. More waiting. They allow smoking on this particular patio, so be wary of that if you're not into it. Our server was really quite nice, but the waiting was irritating. We got tea, water and a few desserts. I think charging $6-7 for bagged tea is silly, but the presentation and glassware was beautiful. I do like the brand of tea (Tea Forte, if you are curious) though. The fruit tart looked good and the fruit was fresh. The tiramisu was very nice, but was more like a custard than anything. I loved the little biscotti cookie that came with it. Oh, the background music was really odd. "Copacabana" played, you guys. ABBA, too. There was also some weird pauses in music. I didn't even try to understand it. This is my second time visitation to this location. Can't leave out to mention that this place is known for a trendy bistro in the heart of Koreatown LA. They had a lot of things to offer in their menu from appetizer to dessert with handful of alcohol selection. For those wondering about the parking situation, there is a valet parking service where charges $2 only at right out front. Have some spare singles in your pocket before hand! We started with some desserts on the table, ordered pairs of macaroons, a slice of strawberry short cake, and a small jar of green tea -great for sharing. The cake was very soft and literally melting in my mouth every bites I had. Our server came back multiple times in a nice timely manner if we wanted some extra hot water in the jar, napkins, anything else. Caffe Concerto is a great new spot in K Town and they don't serve Korean BBQ or have karaoke. They do, however, serve some great black squid ink crust pizza, some delicious pasta dishes and an assortment of some tasty tapas plates. Pair that with a delicious glass of wine from the impressive wine list or try one of their hand crafted specialty cocktails. Not a wine or specialty cocktail person? Not a problem. Caffe Concerto has a full bar with several great bottled beer options as well. I suggest trying the Firestone IPA. Dining is available until 11 PM nightly downstairs, at the bar, where you can watch the game on a large high def screen, on either of the 2 patios, or upstairs in the main dining room. This place is next to another cafe called Haus and fried chicken place. the exterior is white and very romantic style. Inside is well decorated too. especially second floor. Most of times there is no wait but I recommend you to make an appointment if you want to sit upstairs. I feel like lot of business people come here for meeting and lot of older and hip crowd. I never seen children here lol. Food is a bit expensive but very tasty. I got the steak risotto thing that came with risotto with just meat but the taste was wonderful and filled my stomach just right. the waiters and waitresses are very nice and keep pay attention to all the tables. I never really understood these Korean-style Italian-fusion type of cafe restaurants. However, Concerto is a level above the rest. My friend suggested we get some food delivered because we were being lazy - she was using one of those on-demand delivery apps cus she found a promo code for it (RushOrder was the name of the app, and promo code was HUNGRY3 which i think might still be valid). As an appetizer, we got the Mushroom Salad which had a nice balsamic dressing with sauteed mushrooms. good to start with. We also did the crab c akes which i thought were delicious, but could've been a tad crispier. I have just visited this restaurant for my daughter' s birthday. We ordered spagetti with meatballs. The meatballs were unbearable. They tasted stale, uncooked, hard, and like cooked out of frozen ones. We politely asked to take back take the dish back and the waiter's answer was that they don't take back any dish that is eated partially. I took a bite out of a meatball and my wife had a bite to confirm the horrible taste. Finally, a manager came and took the dish back. Prices are a little bit higher, but you do pay for the ambiance and friendly service. Every guest I've taken there have liked the experience. hey have a wide selection and I mean it. I've never seen so many choices in one place! The colors are beautiful and not overly done.
