FIRE HAZARD. I'll get to that in a second. I often come here and have always enjoyed myself, eating cake and macarons, drinking yummy cocktails and coffee, and having good conversation in a very classy and welcoming atmosphere. Caffe Concerto WAS always one of my favorite 5-star cafes in Ktown (especially for their above-standard macarons and despite their pricey menu), but when I left with BURNT HAIR after one particular visit, I had to reconsider. I was standing, waiting to go to the downstairs bathroom, when after a few minutes, I heard the very unpleasant sound of something singeing and burning. Quickly I patted away at my back, and felt the horrible feeling that something on me was burnt. My sister came out of the bathroom and I asked her if my cardigan was burnt, and she just said, "Oh no...." A good chunk of my hair was burnt off. Behind me while I had been waiting was a tall corner table (one of those that come up to your chest), and on the edge of the table were two candles, just simply out in the open and aflame, NOT in a jar or any protective candle holder. There is not much room to wait outside of that downstairs bathroom, and I was waiting like any normal person would in front of that table. Maybe I should apologize for having long hair, but there is absolutely NO GOOD REASON to have candles lying out in the open. Sure, I understand that it is a decorative effort, and having candles in mason jars or whatnot is totally fine. But out in the open, it is a FIRE HAZARD. This may sound like a comical story about a poor girl's hair being burnt, but it's a serious issue and I'm lucky to not have had my cardigan catch on fire and burn my skin. I told the manager (Korean male, late 20s-early 30s?), who was extremely apologetic. He told me that those candles should NEVER have been there and apologized profusely. Although he didn't even offer to take care of our check (which honestly would have been a nice touch considering his customer's hair just got burnt off for his restaurant's mistake), I just told him to never leave candles out like that so no one else's hair would be burned off. Maybe I should have been more upset, but I'm usually a very nice person and I just hoped for anyone else's sake that those candles would never be put there in such a miscalculated spot again. So I left, despite this incident, still considering Caffe Concerto one of my fave cafes. Yesterday, I went again with my family, and to my disbelief, the same candles were out in the open, aflame on the edge of the tall table in front of the bathroom. Obviously the manager did not take his customer's hair being burnt in his own restaurant seriously AT ALL and simply left those candles as is, and that immediately made me lose my respect for him and this establishment. FIRE is ALWAYS a serious issue, and the fact that those candles were still there pissed me right off and I honestly do not ever want to go back and spend my money to support this restaurant. *** WARNING!!! DANGER!!!*** (Read to the end) The service here is absolutely below par (never seen such horrible service in my life). I came here with 4 friends and we ordered coffees and desserts and it took 30 plus mins to get 3 of the 5 coffees and 45mins to get 2 of the 3 desserts and we never even got spoons or napkins for them that we asked for twice, we also never got the waters we asked for 3 different times with 3 different staff members. The thing that really ticked us off was we ordered a creme brûlée the last ONE! We know it was the last one because a couple that just sat down behind us after we ordered 35mins ago tried to order one and their waiter told them they were completely out... 5 mins later they magically got a creme brûlée. OUR CREME BRÛLÉE that was given to them obviously by their friends. I would not recommend coming here unless you want to go work behind the counter yourself and make/serve your own coffees, desserts, napkins, utensils, etc. We could not even get the very BASIC essential services expected at any restaurant/cafe. I've had a million times better and excellent service from Denny's than this establishment . It also took 15 plus mins just for the manager to fix this debacle when we just wanted nothing more than the check so we could just leave the place and that wasn't even happening for us, we were trapped there, it was like being stuck with nowhere to go watching a complete disaster. Also, the last 2 coffees came out when we only started to leave and after the manager waived our bill for ONLY the 3 of 5 coffees that ever showed up after like what seemed like hours. Hour or so for coffee to show up after our other friends were finished with their 3??? That is absolutely unacceptable for a so called professional establishment. Oh, then I started to receive unwanted harassing, threatening to harm and come hunt me down type mentally unstable stalker private messages on the same night as well as the next morning by one of the female servers named Bienca that was there that night. Does this establishment do any kind of background check on their employees prior to hiring??? If you decide to come to this establishment it is at your own risk, watch out for this mentally disturbed female server named Bienca. this was my first time at caffe concerto! and I like this place. the décor of the place is so pretty/nice and so unexpected. Food is really good !!! Here is what my friends and I ordered and what I got to try: I tried the red sauce lobster pasta ( which I loved), the cream sauce lobster pasta ( which is also to die for), the squid ink mushroom pizza ( which was just okay~), the squid ink veggie pizza ( also just okay), truffle fries ( which was sooo good), Indonesian fried rice ( yummy ) & calamari ( which was good too) Dessert: Macarons and cake! I really want to come back here for their blueberry cake, the blueberries are fresh blueberries that are frozen so you get this special surprise in every bite... MMMmmm I am still thinking about the cake... I would definitely come here again. (( the reason I only put 3 stars vs 5 is something that might be a game changer for some ppl.... there was a dead TINY worm in my friends French flower champagne.... I'm really going to have to try this place a few more times to get a real feel for it, but this was my first time here, so take it with a grain of salt. The place is really nice. Large, airy, different. We were first seated upstairs, which was really stuffy. And by stuffy I mean hot. We were sweating. Also, we were up there for over 5 minutes and no real acknowledgement, so we made way downstairs to be seated outside. Oddly enough they took our menus away. Outside we were seated in a weird dirt area, but we got blankets (LOVELY touch with the wrap) to keep warm if we needed to. More waiting. They allow smoking on this particular patio, so be wary of that if you're not into it. Our server was really quite nice, but the waiting was irritating. We got tea, water and a few desserts. I think charging $6-7 for bagged tea is silly, but the presentation and glassware was beautiful. I do like the brand of tea (Tea Forte, if you are curious) though. The fruit tart looked good and the fruit was fresh. The tiramisu was very nice, but was more like a custard than anything. I loved the little biscotti cookie that came with it. Oh, the background music was really odd. "Copacabana" played, you guys. ABBA, too. There was also some weird pauses in music. I didn't even try to understand it. The average age of the patrons there was about 25-30. You'd think maybe some top 40? A chill mix of something? Elevator music even? ANYWAY. It's a nice addition to a bustling area. Here's what we ordered: Bruschetta - Such a stunning appetizer! The base bread was perfectly crispy, topped with smoked salmon that had a light, tangy flavor. I also really enjoyed the prosciutto version -- rich and savory, both were excellent starts to the meal. Grilled Squid Salad - Very generous portion! Prosciutto & Arugula Pizza - Classic and so satisfying. The prosciutto added a nice salty depth, while the arugula brought in that peppery freshness. This is my second time visitation to this location. Can't leave out to mention that this place is known for a trendy bistro in the heart of Koreatown LA. They had a lot of things to offer in their menu from appetizer to dessert with handful of alcohol selection. For those wondering about the parking situation, there is a valet parking service where charges $2 only at right out front. Have some spare singles in your pocket before hand! We started with some desserts on the table, ordered pairs of macaroons, a slice of strawberry short cake, and a small jar of green tea -great for sharing. The cake was very soft and literally melting in my mouth every bites I had. Our server came back multiple times in a nice timely manner if we wanted some extra hot water in the jar, napkins, anything else. At the end, I held on a whole cake for take-out Service was above and beyond. The guy manager had tossed some extra macaroons in our to go bag which was an unexpected move. My friend got super excited and that he made our day. Caffe Concerto is a great new spot in K Town and they don't serve Korean BBQ or have karaoke. They do, however, serve some great black squid ink crust pizza, some delicious pasta dishes and an assortment of some tasty tapas plates. Pair that with a delicious glass of wine from the impressive wine list or try one of their hand crafted specialty cocktails. Not a wine or specialty cocktail person? Not a problem. Caffe Concerto has a full bar with several great bottled beer options as well. I suggest trying the Firestone IPA. Dining is available until 11 PM nightly downstairs, at the bar, where you can watch the game on a large high def screen, on either of the 2 patios, or upstairs in the main dining room. This place is next to another cafe called Haus and fried chicken place. the exterior is white and very romantic style. Inside is well decorated too. especially second floor. Most of times there is no wait but I recommend you to make an appointment if you want to sit upstairs. I feel like lot of business people come here for meeting and lot of older and hip crowd. I never seen children here lol. Food is a bit expensive but very tasty. I got the steak risotto thing that came with risotto with just meat but the taste was wonderful and filled my stomach just right. the waiters and waitresses are very nice and keep pay attention to all the tables. I never really understood these Korean-style Italian-fusion type of cafe restaurants. However, Concerto is a level above the rest. My friend suggested we get some food delivered because we were being lazy - she was using one of those on-demand delivery apps cus she found a promo code for it (RushOrder was the name of the app, and promo code was HUNGRY3 which i think might still be valid). As an appetizer, we got the Mushroom Salad which had a nice balsamic dressing with sauteed mushrooms. good to start with. We also did the crab c akes which i thought were delicious, but could've been a tad crispier. I opted for the Seafood Risotto (delicious!) and she opted for the grilled Chicken breast which was still moist and nicely seasoned. Was delicious and would definitely recommend. read more

I have just visited this restaurant for my daughter' s birthday. We ordered spagetti with meatballs. The meatballs were unbearable. They tasted stale, uncooked, hard, and like cooked out of frozen ones. We politely asked to take back take the dish back and the waiter's answer was that they don't take back any dish that is eated partially. I took a bite out of a meatball and my wife had a bite to confirm the horrible taste. Finally, a manager came and took the dish back. I was very disappointed of the tastes of such basic dish as spaghetti with meatball in an so called Italian restaurant and of the poor policy. read more

Unfortunately, the bread was super hot (clearly heated up with a microwave) for 5 min than cold and like a bricks. Tip to the owner, please hide the microwave on the second floor.
