    Mango dessert

The attention to detail here is incredible. We had a great coffee break with their signature pastries. I was initially drawn in by how perfect the mango-shaped mousse cake looked, and it did not disappoint--so fresh and flavorful! The strawberry-shaped cake was equally stunning. The traditional cheesecake with fresh berries was also spot on. Highly recommend trying these edible works of art!

Looking behind the open counter. Big lcd menu up on the wall.

The staff are super nice and helpful. A nice, open atmosphere with lots of window views. The food here is always delicious. The house made cheesecake is the best in the world. Their cheesecake is amazing, if you like cheesecake at all you need to go here.

Stopped by for a quick pick me up on a sunny afternoon. Cafe was empty & we got our drinks quickly. Orange blossom latte - Very faint orange blossom flavor. Tasted like a regular latte. Tiramisu latte - This was good! The cold foam and tiramisu powder really made a difference.

Walked in here because I love finding small cozy coffee shops. I saw that they have basque cheesecake which excited me and I asked if they have decaf espresso. I then picked up a small drink at the register and and asked if this was Tumeric and ginger and the woman at the register said "yes". I got even more excited. What a great place! As I go to pay the woman volunteers that I can't get a bathroom code with this purchase. I was confused. Nothing registered for me. In my head I thought, "do I need to use the restroom?" I said "excuse me?" She reiterated that I wouldn't get bathroom privileges with this purchase. I thanked her for letting me know and said I'm trying to make a purchase and letting me know it's not good enough to get bathroom privileges is weird and rude. She then goes on to tell me that she's actually doing me a FAVOR by letting me know that I couldn't get bathroom privileges and I couldn't RETURN the purchase if she gave me the code to use the bathroom and I used the bathroom and then decided I didn't want what I purchased. Ma'am, WHAT??? Is this the Twilight Zone? Then, another man told me she's not being rude and she is doing me a favor to let me know I couldn't have their bathroom code and that people off the street come in and try to use their bathroom and return items. I have NEVER in my life felt like a profiled person off the street before. I felt so weird. I made my purchase, clutched my pearls, and skedaddled. I immediately thought about writing a review then changed my mind. Then CHANGED IT BACK and sat in my car and got to writing. Cause, huh? I am so hurt that I don't have this cute little cafe to patronize or the basque cheesecake to try. But, I will NEVER support a place where their representative stares me in my face and tells me, unprompted, I CAN'T HAVE THEIR BATHROOM CODE with the item I intend to purchase. *No, she did NOT say it was OUT OF ORDER. **I love supporting small business (see reviews) **It's weird that the owner keeps updating his responses and defending his poor customer service. Sir, perhaps you can use the audio/visual to improve your customer service and not further tangle with a patron.

This place is so delicious, I love the Mediterranean wrap and salad and the desert is always so decadent. I love this place so much and recommend it to anyone in the Hollywood area.

I love the vanilla latte here! I passed by this place so many times and finally decided to give it a try -- and I'm so glad I did. It's very spacious inside and though I've only come for the coffee so far, it looks like there are a lot of good food options. The same woman has taken my order both times and she's very kind, which matters a lot to me when I try a new place. This is a small business that deserves the love so check it out if you're in Hollywood!

Interior is nice. More seating along the windows not in the picture.

Warm and inviting local cafe. Clean and Fresh feeling on the inside and run by a sweet couple who I assume own or are the proprietors. 5 stars! Food and drink options for a non-boozey brunch with plenty of coffee, tea, smoothie and fresh press juices. The food options are fast and fresh and offer breakfast all day which I love. Sandwiches. Burritos. Bagels. Breakfast combos. Avocado toast all make for a yummy start to the day. We had a breakfast croissant, 4 stars with coffee and a blueberry smoothie with whey protein, 3 stars. $38 with tax and tip. Locals with their friendly small dogs came through for food and coffee and were welcomed with a friendly smile and offers of treats for the well-mannered pups. Friendly and fast service made this even more unique. Seating options run from a large banquette for 6-8 down to a small window facing bar top for singles.

Found this cute coffee shop while I was out getting a haircut across the street. I am always on the lookout for new independent coffee shops. There is plenty of seating inside to sit and eat or hangout for a bit. The owner was very nice and welcoming. I got two drinks, the tiramisu latte and the pistachio latte (both iced) with a slice of their house baked ricotta cheesecake. Both the pistachio latte and the tiramisu latte were delicious I was afraid the flavoring was going to be too much but they weren't. I honestly did not know what to expect from the ricotta cheesecake but it was so good. It wasn't to sweet and the top was layered with chocolate which paired well with the ricotta base. In addition to the pastry and coffee offerings you can order an array of different foods including sandwiches, salads, and all day breakfast. Overall a good place to check out.

It's a very cute and cozy coffee shop and there was no line when we arrived. The menu had a huge selection of different coffee and tea drinks and also a seasonal menu. The staff were very kind and patient and swiftly prepared the Vienna Latte and Hojicha Latte we ordered. The Vienna Latte is so visually stunning, the layers of white milk, brown espresso, thick white cream, brown cocoa powder and Biscoff layered on top of each other against the dark green logo was so aesthetic. Having a sip before mixing the Vienna latter was incredible, the sweet cream followed with the nutty strong espresso flavour then getting a refreshing splash of milk made a great combo with the Biscoff. I actually liked the drink less after its all mixed because it was too creamy for my taste. (I normally like my coffee black) My hojicha latte was great, but it was also too milky for me. So I went up and asked if it would taste good dirty, with an espresso shot in it, and the barista said yes. I ordered an espresso shot and instead of charging me full price, they only charged me the add on espresso shot for the drink! ($1.50 instead of $4) It was very kind of them since it was absolutely my mistake for not ordering the right drink in the first place. The shot added much depth and flavour to the hojicha latte I was craving. Thanks for the wonderful service. I'm definitely coming back to try their other specialty drinks.

The green sauce was very vinegary with a slightly spicy kick. The burrito itself was not bad as it had all the right ingredients. It took about 10 minutes for the kitchen to prepare this order. Mason Latte (Double shot Espresso, whole milk, homemade brown butter caramel, sea salt - iced $7.75): This drink had to be mixed and shaken first. A solid latte and not too sweet. The flavor was a tad light, but not bad. *** While no food or drink in particular made this place stand out among all other amazing coffee shops in Los Angeles, this is still a solid all-around coffee shop in my book. I ordered the Orange Mint Latte, Matcha Sparkling Lemonade, Einspanner White, Hibiscus Mint Sparkling Lemonade, and of course, a cortado. I also tried their Wagyu Sliders. Every drink was fantastic. What I really enjoyed was how different each one was from the next. It didn't feel like I was ordering variations of the same drink -- each had its own flavor profile, presentation, and unique touch. The Orange Mint Latte was especially interesting, and both sparkling lemonades were refreshing and completely different from what I would normally order. The Einspanner White was another standout. Overall, it was a really fun variety to try at once. The cortado was also very good. It had a nice flavor, smooth texture, and was easy to drink. Their approach is a little different from a traditional cortado presentation because the espresso and milk are fully integrated together rather than finished with latte art. I actually appreciate that style when it's executed well because the focus is more on getting the espresso and milk completely incorporated into one cohesive drink. The presentation across the entire order was also really well done. You can tell there's thought behind how everything is served and put together, which adds to the overall experience. The Wagyu Sliders were great as well. I think the food side of Archives of Us deserves more attention because they have some genuinely good food options to go along with the drinks rather than the food feeling like an afterthought. The space itself is beautifully designed with plenty of seating inside as well as an outdoor seating area. I love the overall atmosphere and aesthetic -- there are certain details about the design, presentation, and experience that remind me of coffee shops I've visited in Japan. The staff made the experience even better. Everyone was extremely friendly, kind, and welcoming. Overall, Archives of Us has a lot going for it. A beautiful space, great service, thoughtful presentation, a strong variety of drinks, solid coffee, and food worth trying as well. This was one of the closer coffee spot with good reviews that I found near the kbbq place (Seogwan by Yellow Cow Kbbq) my family and I ate at for lunch. It was about 0.5miles (3 mins drive). The coffee shop is super large, bright, and has nice background music. There are plenty of seats for people to hang out or study. There are also street parking but can be difficult to cross the street due to cars driving by so quickly without a pedestrian crosswalk on one side. I ordered their signature drink which was the orange espresso tonic with one extra shot for my husband, and the double mango matcha for myself. Both of us really enjoyed the drinks, especially the orange espresso tonic. It was refreshing, clean, and easy to drink. Normally, they include double shots of espresso, which may have tasted stronger for me since my husband wanted three shots, and I usually stick with two shots. The double mango matcha uses fresh fruit syrup so the mango flavor was not too strong and my drink was very creamy due to the signature mango cream on top. Usually, I would enjoy a creamy matcha but it made me more thirsty on a hot day. The service took a bit of time since they had to mix my matcha the legit way with the bamboo whisk. The matcha tasted like premium, ceremonial matcha since it was stronger and authentic in taste. Overall, both drinks were enjoyable but if I had to choose one, I would go with the orange espresso tonic even though I love mango matcha!

The female barista who wore a pulchritudinous blue checkered, white folded sleeves that almost matched my blue/white striped long-sleeved shirt was assiduous. I could have absconded with her. lol. 4.5/5 Definitely one of my top 10 matcha spots in LA!…read more I've tried both the Matcha Duo and Ube Matcha and the cream here is SO SO SO good. Any of their cream tops are honestly perfection and probably what makes the drink for me. The matcha itself is rich, creamy, and really smooth. I wouldn't necessarily say it's super strong, but it's definitely not weak either. It doesn't have as much of that bitter/earthy matcha taste. The drinks do lean on the sweeter side, which is kind of a dilemma for me because the cream is SO good, but it also takes away from the matcha a little. I love the cream and wouldn't want less of it, but I do wish the matcha came through a bit more. Additionally, the cup is pretty small And getting matcha here is honestly a whole DEDICATED JOURNEY. Parking, waiting in line, waiting for your drink... you have to really want that matcha. But I would 100% come back. Despite the journey and the small cup, Rōk is still easily one of my favorite matcha spots in LA.

I loved how rich, creamy, and balanced the matcha einspanner tasted. I would defiinitely come back to try other flavors too! The place is pretty spacious and is decorated with metal tables which offer that underground feel, which I enjoy also! Service was quick and the menu was simple and easy to read! Thanks Cafe Upper!

They have chairs and tables for you to hang out and eat/drink what you purchased. There's also just benches if you wanna lounge. I've seen people here working on their laptop and groups of people around one table so the vibe is chill and friendly. It also depends on what time of day you come. Weekends usually get packed. As for the drinks and food. What we've had here has always been good. Best to eat their Croffle and baked goods there. Although Matcha is not for my liking, I'm more for their Taro Drink. B says the Matcha here is one of the better ones she's had. I have to agree even their Matcha Ice Cream is good. We get is the Matcha Croffle + Ice Cream, Matcha Einspanner, Taro Einspanner, and their cakes. Only thing I knocked down a star is because Not all the workers know the answers to your questions of what is in what food item or if you can substitute the milks. So that's something Cafe Upper should train all staff. Especially if people have food allergies.
