I want to give 2 1/2 stars. This place is OK if you have a hankering for Indian food and don't want to drive to Parsippany. It's probably the best in town but that's not saying much. It was one of the best Indian Resturant that I have been to outside of the India. There are extensive menu for all special way of cooking and spice. We have three dishes, one tedoribe type of chicken but with no bone in, one lamb and one vergetible dishes. You may ask the waiter for suggetion and let him know your preference. I've always enjoyed every meal I've ordered for takeout. I typically get the combination meal (swapping out the lamb for tikka masala) and make two meals out of it. I've only eaten at the restaurant once and it was the lunch buffet. The variety was limited and not great. No biggie, I rather get takeout and eat leftovers. read more

We love Caffe India! Their food is consistently good, no matter what we order. We've eaten there a good 50+ times and never had a bad meal. Anyone we introduce to them loves them. Most of the time we do takeout. When we first discovered them, we were hooked and ordered once a week. Now we still go once every 2 to 3 weeks. Takeout portions seem more generous than those when eating in - I usually get 2 meals from the various chicken dishes I'll get. The chicken vindaloo and chicken tikka masala are our go-to's and excellent every time. Best naan I've had. Watch out for the garlic naan - it's strong! We've eaten in the restaurant 4 or 5 times. It's quiet and relaxed. Mostly dinners with friends, and once for the lunch buffet during the week. We went towards the end so pickings were slim, but it was tasty regardless. read more

I come here all the time for the lunch buffet with my coworker and the food is always hot and delicious. For $10, you can't beat the food and the selection. My coworker and I both don't eat red meat so this buffet is perfect as they only have chicken and vegetarian dishes. The staff are attentive and so nice. I recommend going for the buffet on Friday's as they seem to have the best selection on Friday's (malai kofta and gulab jamun)!! Eat here at least once a week; take out. Food is consistent and quite good. Naan is absolutely perfect. People SO incredibly nice. They can modulate heat thresholds which is nice. Every once and a while we get some rubbery chicken but it's rare. We gong eat in, but I've heard experience is nice but on weekends prepare yourself for a slow paced service. Got take out here so can't speak for the service or experience in the actual restaurant. The food itself was decent; had a lamb dish that was delicious and my friend had a vegetarian dish that was even more delicious. My only gripe with this place, and the rest of the Indian places in the area, is the price. For $16 an entree, I would expect a little more than just a few chunks of meat and rice (granted, the other major Indian restaurant in town charges $6 for rice so this is the lesser of two evils). Oh well, I guess Morristown is just not the place to be for Indian cuisine. read more

We love it here, and come every week. It is always a fun time, we just always leave in a good mood and happy. Nice, friendly service, decor is not so special, prices are great, the naan is hot and fresh, and served with whichever chutneys or dips you prefer. We always get the chicken tikka masala, "Indian spicy!" The spinach saag paneer, and mango chutney. Bring your own beer and enjoy. We have also enjoyed the tandoori chicken, and always get the basmati rice. Five stars is for the extra special, but this one deserves to be a local fave. We have been to India, and we can go to Mendhi or other places, but this one is really good. We love it. Although the food is ok, you really don't get much of it, especially if you order to go. Last night we ordered 2 dishes and 3 orders of naan. We only got 1 side of rice and one small side of chutneys. The shrimp dish only had about 7 shrimp and the chicken was scarce too. Plenty of sauce left though so I can buy chicken and shrimp today and make more. But for $44 I would hope to get a little more food. read more

Hello Fellow Yelppers, I wanted to take the time to review Caffe India. Typically, I do not write negative reviews, but I was so disappointed in the service that was provided to my Fiancée and I on 1/10/14. We decided to go to Caffe India early that Friday afternoon as we have eaten there before and have been very pleased with their food selection. The service they provided was something I would expect from a hot dog fender in NYC. The host was very rude and kept a stone cold expression on his face throughout our whole visit there. When he greeted us, he did not welcome us to the restaurant, nor did he ask us where we would like to be seated, he basically started walking away from us and we followed. Now I get it, everyone has their days and with that sad, I did not base this review off of our initial contact with what seemed to be a manager/host. So please keep reading. After being seated, and taking ourselves to the buffet, we constantly had to ask to have our water topped off. Now, this is the time where I noticed the service was not up to my expectations in the least bit. The establishment was not busy at that time, and I did not feel this to be acceptable. When the waiter came back around he topped off our water after we flagged him down, something I hate doing at restaurants. Once we finished, the host/manager came over and rudely grabbed my utensils. I was appalled to say the least. After this, I knew I would never be returning to the restaurant. The straw that broke the camels back was when I went to pay the bill. I proceeded to pay the bill with our waiter/manager/host. He still carried the worst attitude I have ever seen in the restaurant business. I checked out paying credit card, and in the section reading tip, I crossed it out and did not leave one. The manager then looked at it and placed the receipt portion in his drawer. I proceeded to use the lavatory and when I returned I was greeted by my Fiancée and was asked why I did not leave a tip? I was shocked to find out that the manager told my Fiancée that I did not leave a tip so she could leave one in cash. I found this to be a very poor decision on his behalf to ask someone that could be my date,wife,fiancée or business partner to leave a tip. I was livid. In hindsight, I should have justified my position to this manager so he could hear my feedback, but I did not think he was worthy of my time. I love Caffe India and find it to be as good as any other Indian Restaurant I've tried (many). The food is really good and they make good suggestions if you are with people with certain restrictions or just interested in trying something new. I typically have: Chicken Tikka Masala, Vegetable Korma, Saag Paneer, and possibly Lamb Vinadaloo (depending on how many of us their are) and also really enjoy the Onion Nan.
