This is a really chill place to study and catch up with friends. The music is light and the space is very large. The tables are huge, especially the one in the middle with all the rolling chairs, and they are perfect for studying with a laptop. There are outlets almost everywhere, perfect for charging your devices. The wifi is fast and they give it to you at the cash register. The atmosphere is quiet and calm, which is ideal for getting a lot of work done. Unlike a Starbucks, this place was chill because there weren't many distractions. As for drinks, I personally really liked the strawberry banana smoothie. It was a really good consistency and it gave me some energy while working. Their donuts are really good as well, but the donut holes are empty inside sometimes. Their pearl (aka boba) drinks were not the best because this place is better known for coffee and donuts. However, if you were really craving boba, the thai tea pearl drink wasn't bad. This is a great place for studying with friends and for getting a quick bite to eat at the same time. I come to study here pretty often and I enjoy it a lot. Give Promenade a visit if you're in the mood to study or just wanna have a chat with some friends!! read more

OMG! This place is just completely broken. Coffee is crap (and expensive to boot), staff is positively rude, and every single process is broken. I don't know how the owners are making money, but it's definitely not having this place provide customers with good service (or any kind of service- or even coffee for that matter). Bottom line, drive by this place at a high rate of speed and go to Frogg's just down the street off Bethany and the west side of 75. This coffee shop has been in Allen for a long time and it has also had the name Escape,, but it has remained a quiet place to get your java infusion and meditate or work with your device. The Coffee has been consistently good with a variety of Flavor choices, and donuts and other pastries are also offered. The walls are decorated with three dimensional art resembling mountains as well as collections of coffee beans. This coffee shop is one of the most hip coffee shops I have ever been to! I had the maple bar and put jelly in it and it tasted really good. Interesting place. I needed somewhere to spend a Thursday afternoon in my "virtual office", and was nearby, so I tried it out. They've got a huge wooden desk/table with lots of power and it's surrounded by nice leather office chairs, which is a really great idea, except that the chairs don't seem to be height adjustable and the table is too tall. I ended up sitting at a small two topper in a wooden chair, there are also some benches and other seating (including some hightoppers), but not much in the way of soft seating. The decor is nice if a little sparse, and there are some books that you can read while you're there. But what of the coffee? I had a small Guatemalan blend, and it was quite nice. Not too acidic nor bitter, but with good coffee flavor. Do note, though, that I'm far from a coffee snob, but this was a good cup to me. They don't offer heavy cream, so I had to take half and half. Finally, they do have wifi, but it was a little slow on this day. Still, I made do and had a good experience. read more

I was really excited to visit this place and was sooooo bummed that the inside was still closed due to COVID, however I totally understand. Luckily they do have a drive thru so at least got to experience them that way. This used to be the Escape cafe that was an obvious knock-off of Starbucks (including a circular green logo) but Promenade has taken over and kept all of the good stuff (bubble tea, donuts/breakfast pastries, coffee) but identified themselves as a unique brand. I love how unique this place is for Allen and I always get consistently great service every time I stop in, and I am particularly partial to their Almond Milk Tea with boba. Wanted to check out this place because of the many reviews, I live close by, and it looks amazing inside. It does looking really cool inside. I like how they did all of the detailed decorating. There's a lot of seating available. It's nice and quiet to study in. Lot of windows for natural lighting. There's some lounge areas with long couches and tables. The atmosphere is nothing like I've ever seen for a coffee shop. I just wanted to try a jasmine milk tea with lychee jelly. That's my usual tester drink to see how good a place is lately. It didn't wow me at all. It was mostly milk and not much of a tea taste. Perhaps I'll try something else next time and be able to offer a better review. read more

My only reservation in giving 5 stars is the turnover in counter help seems to continually slow down service. You can easily wait 10 minutes in the drive through. It's a classic Korean donut shop meets Taiwanese bubble tea hut, meets cozy local roaster coffee house! I LOVE this place! Today was my first visit and I stayed 5 hours. :-) Atmosphere is warm, friendly, cozy and functional. Plenty of tables with space for board games/working/studying, a side room lined with study cubicles, and fashionable comfy couches, lots of outlets for charging devices. The coffee is excellent, milk tea is more like flavored milk - tea flavor is noticeably lacking - but the flavors are good and not too sweet. Donuts are solid, kolaches standard, sausage biscuit was exactly like a frozen jimmy dean sausage egg and cheese biscuit. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 for the food, wish they had more savory and lunch options. I vote for Korean fried chicken for night time menu addition - they are open til 10:30 pm most days (sweet!) and the donuts must sell out before then... Apparently they've been in this location for 8 years, used to be called Escape, but changed their name so as not to be confused the other chain cafe with the same spelling, but pronounced Esca-pay. read more

3.5 stars I absolutely adore coffee shops. They're a great place to hang out with friends, catch up on work, read a book, just relax... So, of course, I'm making it a goal to go to local coffee shops more often (gotta support the local shops!!) Caffe Promenade is a cute little coffee shop that offers not only coffee, but donuts and other sweets, and even boba drinks as well. But of course... how can I go to a coffee shop without trying their coffee. My friend got the french vanilla latte with an extra shot of espresso and I got the hazelnut latte regular. I'm not sure if she accidentally switched the flavors because mine ended up tasting more like french vanilla than hazelnut, but oh well. Coffee wise, if you're like me and don't like your coffee too sweet, I definitely recommend adding the extra shot of espresso. Mine turned out too sweet for my liking, but my friend's turned out perfectly. Overall, it's a cute coffee shop that offers a variety of seating, wifi and plenty of plugs (you know we always look for the plugs at coffee shops). Best glazed donuts in town. Sweet with a hint of vanilla that has fluffy texture without that doughy effect you get at most of the other shops around town. I believe for the same $2.65 you can get a little larger cup of coffee at Starbucks than at Cafe Promenade, but the coffee does have a better roasted flavor. So, if you cream and sugar your coffee pretty heavily then you won't notice anything different other than quantity and price. If you drink it black, then you will get a better flavor profile which makes it better than Starbucks. Big fan of the Jumbo jalapeño Sausage Rolls as well. Great flavor but is a little pricey. We just moved to Allen not far from this Cafe. We love popping boba tea! We have had their teas and they are so good. We go through the drive thru and the man is always so sweet! What a cute place! I needed somewhere to work remotely and I sure hit the jackpot with this one. When I got there I ordered a glazed donut which was really good- had kind of a vanilla-y flavor to it which I really enjoyed. Then I had a chai with vanilla which was really, really good. Would definitely order both again... My favorite part of this place is the fact that they have a station set up for those with laptops. The station has plenty of desk area and outlets. I sat there for a few hours with 4-5 other people, working away. If you WFH and need to get out of the house sometimes, I definitely recommend you go here! read more

Asian influenced teas and pearl teas. Decor is 20+ years old, looks like it used to be something else, a spa maybe, because of the misplaced or non working waterfalls and odd non related landscape paintings and random decorations. Plenty of work space with charger tables and outlets. However may be tough to get work done considering the clang of the drive through bell, music and yelling in the back. Food: I really don't understand why everyone's raving about this place. The customer service and ambiance is great but that's about it. The donuts are dry and hard. I guess they're cheap but you get what you pay for. Price/Quality/Quantity: The boba is pretty horrible for the price. ($4) They charge extra for no ice and "boba" but i mean why is it under "boba tea" if you're gonna charge extra for the "boba". I've tried multiple flavors but the only one I can stand is the traditional. Any other flavor, I can taste the imitation extract. For $4 i can get a large sized matcha green tea with red bean, milk foam, and boba at Sharetea or Gongcha (in CA). Atmosphere: good study spot and nice ambiance for doing work/studying Service: friendly staff Parking: parking lot out front I don't mean to bash this place or anything but I think they should really get a reality check on their pricing. If you want actual boba tea, i suggest Kung Fu Tea in richardson or fat straws in plano. The boba here is like a disgrace to Taiwanese boba. read more

This place used to be called Escape. The decor inside is just like before...which is fine, b/c it's eclectic. There is never pressure from the employees for customers to leave. You'll normally see students studying. The coffee is okay, but overpriced in my opinion. They have wifi and plenty of plugs so it's a pretty good place to study. Make sure to bring cash because they have a $5 minimum on cards. I ordered the chai tea latte and I don't recommend it . I personally didn't like the flavor. I also ordered the bourbon vanilla tea. It was also mediocre. They have donuts and food options. I really like the atmosphere of this coffee place. We were heading to the outlet mall and were craving for some coffee. This place was a yelp find and I'm glad we came in here. They sell a variety of drinks, not just coffee. They have smoothies and bubble tea too. They also have doughnuts and kolaches!! The place looked really cool -- almost had like a outdoorsy feel with cabin roofs on top of the tables. It's a nice little place to go to to get some work done. I had the iced caramel latte and it was really good; boyfriend got the cafe latte and it was pretty bland. This has become our Sunday breakfast routine. When the pandemic hit, we would drive through Caffe Promenade for eclairs and coffee for watching church online. Even with our church open, we have continued the routine. The owner and other employees recognize our car and knows our usual order. It's like they have become family. Cons: - the loud ringing bell when someone is at the drive thru (really distracts me if I'm trying to study..) - $5 min for credit cards - music can be hit or miss (one time, I felt like I was in a disco place) Also, every time I've been here it seems like it's more suitable for studying and working. Everyone is usually quiet and doing their own business. (Or this could be because I've never come in the evenings?) I would love to hang with friends here, but I'd feel uncomfortable breaking the silence.. I've tried their iced green tea latte. Pretty good but it does have a slight powdery taste.
