It was my first time here. I was greeted warmly by a lady barista when I walked in. Upon her recommendation, I got a matcha latte with vanilla. I never had this combination. The vanilla flavor was very subtle. The matcha latte was smooth and creamy. The serving staff are super courteous and friendly. The place is very spacious and bright with plenty of glass windows. There are comfy sofa seats and small tables along the wall. They also some nice pastries and a decent selection of ice cream flavors. Check it out. Cute shop - love the warm southwestern tones of the space and the artwork. I ordered one of their classics, the Texas Tumbleweed. The cayene pepper gave it a nice kick but was mellowed by the caramel syrup. I substituted almond milk for the dairy since they didn't have fat free milk as an option - only whole milk. That's honestly why I'm deducting a star (would do 1/2 star if Yelp allowed) because I don't like only having whole milk as a dairy option. read more

First time at Cliff Coffee and they really impressed me with their vibes and quality of drinks. It's in a new complex with some nice outdoor space. Inside the decor is pretty cool with lots of comfy chairs. I can appreciate coffeeshops that provide ample comfy chairs and couches. Got the Cactus Flower which is a strawberry matcha with a strawberry foam. It was really good and the cream tasted fresh. My only gripe is that I wish the cup was bigger. Employees were all really friendly and I could see them experimenting with new drinks. It just added to the already positive vibe seeing them enjoy their jobs. read more

Was in the area early and searched for "coffee near me." This place popped up and so off I went. FYI Google Maps does not bring you to the coffee shop it brings you to the office buildings. Just follow the road towards the apartments and take a right and it'll be on the end right next to a taco place. For place of reference there's a Waffle House across the street. The barista was so warm and friendly. She gave great recommendations. I ordered the huckleberry hot and a potato taco. They offer ice cream, and a few pastries as well and matcha. At the time she was the only barista here and it got busy. Another employee came shortly after. The ambience of this place is super cute; it has a mid century modern cowboy style. It was a little tricky to find when I first decided to check them out mainly because navigation takes you a little short of their suite, but once you get in there it's such a cute, unique style coffee shop that feels true to their menu and theme! It's a great place to get some work done or meet up with friends, and the staff is super friendly and efficient. There's plenty of seating for the size of the shop, and the drinks really made the experience. So far I've had the tumbleweed and the cactus flower, and their pastries are great too (I speak for the chocolate croissant!). Despite having a bit of a sweet tooth, both the iced coffee and matcha were not overly sweet, in the best way possible! A pleasant and unique blend of flavors in each signature drink really quiets any of the bitterness of strong coffee or earthy matcha, but that doesn't at all detract from how good their drinks are. Another Instagram featured place... They would not honor a promo for their grand opening even after I showed the barista the info. To me.. why wouldn't you when I showed proof??? And then tried to tell me that maybe it's another account? It literally had the Cliff Coffee name in what I was showing. The disagreements happen in the hospitality industry.. I noticed they said bye to everybody who left except me. Service was not there. I reached out to the business and they did offer to make things right, so I'll give them credit there. Wouldn't choose this as a study place since there's not as many outlets. There's one in the front. Some in the back by the couches and tables. It has more of a hangout or date vibe, so it's a little loud too. I like that they have a counter to sit at in case you're on your own and you can see the baristas making coffee. Fill your own water. Plenty of parking. Prices are reasonable for the area. $5 for matcha, $5.50 for latte. Good sizes. They have special menu, but no prices listed. You can add flavor to latte. I didn't get any flavor and the coffee tasted a little burnt?? Not sure if it was because I didn't add any flavor. Usually the lattes I get are already flavored. I do like they have the option to add or not but no idea if it's extra... They will do fine for themselves w/ influencer marketing, but based on the service, it's a big turn off. read more

Hooray we finally have a coffee shop in this new design district space! And it was worth the wait. There's plenty of parking on the east and south sides and while it looks small from the outside, there is plenty of seating inside. The decor is Texas, but with a modern touch. In addition to coffee and a few pastrie, they also have 12 hand-scooped ice cream flavors! The prices are a deal, much less expensive than the surrounding coffee shops and the large almond milk latte I ordered was pretty good. We were immediately greeted by Sam who had the friendliest smile. Her greeting wasn't over the top, but genuine and welcoming. My daughter immediately spotted the pop-tart in the pastry case and I was stoked to hear it's vegan, so I could enjoy it with her! Ohhh finally, after hearing about this new coffee place I got a chance to stop by to enjoy one of their signature coffee. I love the fact that they have an actual bar for single visitors. I hate taking up a whole table when it was just me. I had their Mexican Standoff that have this warm southwestern kick to it, a hint of spice if you will. The place has lots of windows. Great natural light while sipping on your drink of choice. They also offers pastries, breads and tacos!!! Vibes are immaculate. I love what they've done with the interior and the southwestern aesthetic that doesn't follow the cookie cutter coffee shop look nowadays. It's still clean but opinionated interior design, which let's be honest the vibes are half the reason people go to a shop. Other half is of course coffee. They serve a few local roasters, which is another business approach I appreciate: local partnership. The ice cream is Tongue in Cheek, their espresso is from Harp & Bowl (at least the couple of times I've been) and the drip is from Lemma (first time was Edison). I've only had espresso based drinks and they were decent but not amazing. I think an affogato would be amazing though. My understanding is that it's the same owners as Cream & Sugar so coffee + ice cream is built into their business model, which I love. What sets Cliff apart is the friendly service and nice vibes. Every barista I've interacted with has been super nice and welcoming. I have both worked from here all day and just come in to hangout for a bit. There are only two regular height tables to work at but they do have high top tables and the bar as options. And there's a few more casual lounge spots with couches and chairs to chat or relax. Plano needs more good coffee shops and Cliff is a solid addition that I will definitely be back to read more

I've come here on 3 separate occasions. 1. My first trip was the week they opened to try the matcha. It was the first week so I didn't expect much but unfortunately the drink wasn't great. I've had matcha at several places around the DFW and this one was super watery and just not very flavorful. I am however going to give it another go, maybe next year when the newness wears off and maybe they've gotten a better flow. 2. My second trip was to get a specialty latte, i can't quite remember what specific flavor it was but regardless I got home and poured it out. This was during the 2nd week they were open. It tasted spoiled. Idk if the beans were old or maybe the syrup just had a sour taste but it just wasn't good. I still want to give it another go though because I know it takes time to perfect a good coffee 3. My last trip was simply to try the ice cream and honestly that plus the ambiance is the reason why I rated this place a 4, it's in walking distance and a great place to work! Favourite place ever been here 4 times in the past 2 weeks. Staff is super friendly, welcoming, thoughtful. The coffee is so freaking good I got their new signature called tumbleweed. The ambiance is so homey and has a unique vibe I haven't see anywhere else. Literally recommend to all my friends I love it here.
