Orders: Medium cappuccino AL cacao Pros: presentation of rip was dope! The drink is not Sweet if you're looking for that. But oddly its not bitter like coffee can be at times. Theres a nice savory balance to this drink. Cons: n/a

So cute!! Service is super quick! I ordered an almond croissant and a tumeric chai and moth were amazing! The vibe of the cafe is so cute and I love all of the plants!

Cafe Umbria is chic, clean, and delicious. The beautiful tile work and array of plants makes for the perfect spot to enjoy a coffee (or a cocktail, if you're feeling brave.) The space was so idealistic that I spotted a few people posing for Instagram photos during my visit. I ordered an ice lavender oat milk matcha, sweetened, and a macaroon. My drink was too sweet, but I take full accountability for that. Next time, I'll order it unsweetened if I'm also going to add a flavor. The macaroon's shell had a nice crunch and the middle was jammy and sweet. I visited on a quick coffee break, but the cocktail menu did catch my eye. I was surprised to see all that they offer!

Coffee is pleasantly strong and the coffee shop is brightly lit even on a gloomy day. The service is pretty quick and the baristas as very conversational and fun to talk to. Will definitely drop by again when I'm back in town.

Stopped here after visiting the Art Museum and loved it. The inside is narrow but the decor is kind of like an old school diner. Tje drinks were really good and the service was excellent. I will definately be back next time I am in the area!

Great place to grab a fancy cup of coffee and sit. Plenty of window seating for people watching or if you need to grind, plenty of tables to set up and bang on the keyboard. Stopped in to warm up and the fragrance is intoxicating. Wish I had more time in town to hang out. The provide complementary chocolate squares at the pick up counter. Grabbed a couple :)

First place I came to when visiting portland for the first time. Walked in and it was so pretty inside and when ordering the girl was so sweet and had complimented me after I had gotten my coffee. Speaking of coffee, I ordered the Cardamom Latte hot and a chocolate chip cookie. Best coffee i've ever had most definitely a 10/10. Definitely ask what it is because it sounds a bit odd to be put in coffee but i gave it try.. The cookie on the other hand was a bit harder for my own liking. My friend had gotten an eggnog latte, it was good we both rated it a 7/10 and the cinnamon roll cookie?, id say was good it but the cinnamon roll cookie was a bit sticky and would stick to your teeth but overall so good! Loved the view of all the buildings!

Smooth coffee, nice baristas, good pastries. Great place to have a cup of Joe to charge up pre-show!

Liguria: a must order Summer Special
    Andrew A.

The Liguria, a summer special espresso with Chinotto, was perfect for a hot day. The Iced Sunshine - lemonade, caramel, vanilla and cold brew coffee - was excellent. Friendly staff, good vibe. My favorite coffee in Portland is only one block south in the Oregonian building, but Caffe Umbria is the best of the chains.

Great service! Very friendly and accommodating. You can enjoy a nice cup of coffee in a ceramic cup. Ambiance is relaxing and comfortable :)

    Fresh Coffee

Cafe Umbria is a welcoming, well-run business with friendly, professional staff and spotless restrooms . The sandwiches are excellent (ask for extra olives ), and the Wi‑Fi (pass: cappuccino) is faster and more reliable than most free Wi-Fi in the city. It feels safe and comfortable (police & security presence) whether you're working, meeting friends, or just enjoying a quiet date. The coffee is smooth and rich , creative foam art, and the atmosphere keeps you coming back for more.

    Cardamom and Eggnog Lattes

This Caffe Umbria location is lovely. Bigger than its other downtown location. The inside is modern yet cozy with lots of tables to work or chat. Their menu is pretty standard with lattes and espresso drink varieties. Staffs were very nice and friendly; they seem to have local regulars frequenting the spot. Their pastry offering was great. We got the Apple Bread Pudding and it's so unique and tasty with flaky pastry on top and gooey pudding inside. A winner indeed!

Coffee and space were decent, but the ambiance wasn't my favorite for studying. The internet wasn't working and the music was way too loud.

The shop is situated in an iconic part of NW 21st; it exudes sophisticated and timeless charm. Stepping inside, you see the historical bones of the building laced with modern touches of hip decor and thoughtful design. It's a bit retro and a bit edgy all while being chic, so it's very well aligned with Portland itself. Sit on a live edge bench! Enjoy a marshmallow stick. Stare at the luxurious wallpaper. But don't let these things deter you from the epic coffee experience that awaits you. Subtly smooth, adequately bold and flavors aplenty... all served with a smile. The staff is incredibly friendly. My drink was even delivered my table by the barista! The bathroom is clean and parking is available on the street. They have all the classics and then some. There were aromas of homemade chai permeating the space as I sipped my coffee. This is an experience that can't be boiled down to 'just coffee.' It's not just another errand when you're in NW either. It's the kind of place where a random stranger next to you says aloud that 'this is the best coffee in Portland' as you walk by. And they mean it. One of my favorite coffee experiences of the year so far. It's memorable on many levels, and the atmosphere aligns so well with the vibrancy of our city. You owe it to yourself, and to maintaining the true spirit of Portland, to stop in, stay and sip a while. There's no better way to identify with Sterling than through firsthand experience. See you there soon.

The single origin was light and fruity as I'd expect, nice acidity and a crisp finish, whereas the house blend, their Deviation Blend, had a stronger body and less acidity, but still managed to get in some good notes of dried fruit and a nutty flavor.
