Great prices and they serve everyone very fast!! I have been here at this location multiple times and they have free water, plenty of food options. I liked the oatmeal, there's a few different flavors. Also has a nice and clean bathroom, hard to find in the city!!

Caffe Nero has great seating for doing work and studying, though most their food is average. Their pastries are great, muffins are moist, and cookies are warm and buttery. The tomato soup had great flavor and consistency, especially when paired with the grilled cheese. However, their breakfast sandwich was clearly a microwave sandwich, which was disappointing but still had decent flavor. I wouldn't recommend their coffee as it is bitter and expensive. Their matcha is notoriously bad as well.

Delicious Cold Brew. Super smooth coffee. I had been walking around Boston all day, over 30k steps and counting. Busy day, right?!? I needed my coffee fix, and was told that this would be a great place to grab coffee. My friend who was giving me the tour doesn't drink coffee, but swore that it's a very popular joint and heard it's good coffee. I had him try my black coffee, and he enjoyed it as well. Didn't get a chance to check out their pastries. I had already planned to walk down the street to grab a donut. I know, I'm a fatty. The place has a very old, vintage, hipster feel. It's quite dark inside and a bit stuffy actually. It was busy inside and a lot of people were in there reading and using their laptops. It's very difficult to escape the heat and humidity. On this particular day it was raining, so people were inside hiding from that.

Great Cafe and coffee shop. Very quaint and homey with a fireplace. Coffee is delicious. They have a nice assortment of bakery items and sandwiches.

Super cool space! As you enter, there are a few booths to the left and then there are communal tables to your right. Loved the handwritten menu in chalk, but it was a tad busy. With a few illustrations that left no negative space for the eyes to rest easy upon, I had to take some time to observe/read the menu haha All I really wanted was to satisfy a small sweet tooth after dinner. I didn't have too much of an appetite, so my friend and I split a berry "cheesecake" while she had the Summer Delight tea. The cake slice was a decent portion but not your standard cheesecake. It was more a yellow cake with a bavarian cream in between each layer. Not bad and was light enough to satisfy without filling me up much. The Summer Delight smelled amazing and you can ask for a hot water refill if you choose. Free of charge, but pending on how long you've steeped the tea, the flavor may not be as strong. Either way, it was a chill spot to hang at and seems like a neat place to study in or do some work.

I was strolling around the area when I came across this location and stopped in to get some work done. It's small inside but I found a comfy seat in the back with ease. The space is very cozy, or shall I say hygge? There's a fireplace and all of the furniture has a rustic edge. The counter is filled to the brim with cakes and treats, all very hard to resist. I went up not knowing what I wanted to order and the barista recommended their seasonal special, which was a hot chocolate latte at the time. It came with tiny pieces of candy canes on top. The barista was looking for the whipped cream to put on top for a while before realizing they ran out. Because the whipped cream was the drink's highlight, he gave me the drink on the house. I argued with him but he insisted. How sweet! Now that is amazing service. It was a win-win. I actually had an excuse to NOT get whipped cream AND I got the drink for free. I would give my experience an A++++++ but unfortunately I took a seat next to a man who was half asleep and coughing the entire time he was there. That's not on Caffè Nero, though. Word of advice: when someone's openly coughing in your space during flu season, find another spot to sit. Immediately. Anyway, I will absolutely be back for more. Thank you again for your generous service!

This is the kind of place a manly, homosexual lumbersexual contractor would design. The wood floors and intentionally worn look of the walls and furniture give this place a rustic but hipster log-cabin look that would make it perfect for dates. I used to mock the coffee date for being not a real date but that's not true. Behind a dumpster can be a date if you remember to bring the chloroform. Joking, of course. I don't condone dates in which Chris Hansen might be necessary to set you straight. Meeting a date in a non-traditional location allows you to be more off-the-cuff than if you were in a restaurant. There's nothing I hated more than sitting across the table from a girl like we were Detective Benson and a pedophile in 'SVU.' A non-traditional location can also introduce enough uncertainty to force your date to show their true colors. My buddy goes on a couple of dates every week and chooses the spot based on the vibe he gets from the girl. Unsure about the jittery vibe from one girl, he decided to feel her out at a coffee shop. They got their coffee and lined up at the register. He paid for his coffee and stepped aside so the line could progress. She shot him a sharp look and said, "Aren't you going to pay for my coffee??" *short pause* "Nope." I want you to bow down to my brother-from-a-pearly-white-mother for striking a blow to the entitled, whether that's women who expect a $1,000 date or men who expect to get laid before dessert. Mind you, my broseph would have happily paid for coffee, a croissant, and the Uber ride home if she had been nice about it. But the bitchy entitlement of the girl made him determined not to spend a dime on her. So my advice to you is to choose Caffè Nero for your coffee date and don't assume you have to pay for her. You have plenty of time to pick up little expenses here and there when you guys are dating. Your only obligation is to pick up dinner and a movie. While you're here, order the latte. It's one of the best lattes I've ever had for the simple reason that both its key ingredients, the coffee and the namesake milk, are as tasty as they could possibly be. The milk is thick and has a whole, creamy taste to it. It just makes for a better beverage. I'm a 1% man at home for health reasons but I'll happily drink whole milk at a coffee shop. I'm Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Udders. The coffee doesn't just taste like a reheated frappuccino that's been sitting in an airtight bottle for eight hours. It tastes like the beans were ground, heated to unlock their very deepest essence, and then thrown immediately into my mug. The innermost bite of the coffee bean dancing in tune with the creaminess of the milk is what makes even a simple drink like the latte great. It made my ability to work so much better knowing that this delicious pick me up was at my elbow. It made it even easier to work knowing that I had three whole hours of free Wi-Fi and plenty of outlets everywhere in case I wanted to move. I like sitting at the big table in the middle because there are outlets under the table and it gives me the chance to interact with people. But there's a few armchairs, a couple of booths, several seats along the floor-to-ceiling windows, and a few smaller tables. I love this place and even though I'm off the market, I'm going to come back and treat myself to a creamy latte, perhaps even a decaf latte if I stay late. And I won't expect anyone to pay for it, not Mexico or Miss K, though the latter is usually nice enough to offer.

Liked the place to have a good coffee of your choice and a dessert.. Sitting around the place and also on the road side.. Enjoyed the place to sit and finish the work and coffee tasting was better than other near places.. Liked to stop almost every day I was here

Having pastries in front of an open fire. From left to right: Apple coffee cake, palmier, and pumpkin bread slice
    Caroline B.

This review is for the pastries: I ordered three pastries to share with friends: 1. Pumpkin bread: I thought it was really dry and not as moist as most pastry breads should be. There was little to no pumpkin flavor within the bread. This was probably my least favorite 2. Palmier: Their palmiers are very big. I liked this one a lot more however it was lacking some crisp to it. The sweetness was just enough though. 3. Apple coffee cake: This was the best out of all the three I tried. It was soft, moist and buttery. It contains apple slices within which I appreciate. However, it didn't wow me that much. It was delicious no doubt! I just think that I've tried better coffee cakes Overall, I think the pastry is lacking at this cafe. I'll have to come back and try their cold brew and drinks since it seems like those are typically a popular choice there. Plus, I love the environment. It's very quiet and homey. I love how they installed fire pits for customers to lounge around.

Typical "hipster-ish" place you'll find in the South End of Boston - heavy emphasis on the "hipster-ish" quotations. Coffee is great in that it doesn't have a million calories like the Starbucks specialty drinks or that it's not some crappy randomly poured Dunkin'. No worries - I spent countless dollars on both Dunkin and Starbucks. I'm a true fan of "finding places in Boston that doesn't remind you that you're in Boston" and this is one of them.

Apple walnut scone: delicious Latte: delicious Ambience: cozy and cool Staff: super friendly, quick, nice, accommodating, friendly The only reason this isn't 5 stars is because the options are mostly baked goods, a couple filled croissants, a granola bowl, and add-hot-water oatmeal. I'd love steel cut oats or granola and fruit and yogurt or something along those lines.

I went with two scoops, black raspberry and brownie chocolate, and the brownie was killer. Rich, chocolatey, and totally worth standing outside in 30 degree weather to eat it. I said, "Yes please, I'd like M&Ms." The server, and another person working behind the counter, both told me that they just ran out of M&Ms. They didn't have any more. This was weird to me. As I was walking to the the shop, I passed a person who had a small cup of ice cream with both m&m's and oreo topping. Okay, I thought. That's weird but so be it. Then, I scootch over to look at the rest of the toppings and what do I see? M&Ms. I point out the M&M's to the employee and ask, "hey, aren't those M&M's?" They mumbled something back that I didn't exactly catch. They either said "those are closed" or "those are skittles" or "it's not those". "those are closed" makes no sense because they asked if I wanted toppings and it was 2 and a half hours before they closed. "those are skittles" makes no sense because they don't carry skittles as a topping... The whole experience was perplexing to me. Anyways, JP Licks is pretty overrated and too expensive. $6.5+ for the smallest size is not worth it. They have some decent flavors (cookies n' cake batter) though and the ice cream is usually pretty well executed and not icy. still, not really a place i'd recommend and won't be going back for a while after this freak incident. Attached photos are the proof that they had M&Ms. Note the "M" on the candy and the blue colored candies (they don't make blue skittles)

We sat outside in the little courtyard and it's a mix of magical and relaxing! There were only a few tables, so it wasn't overcrowded and with nice weather, it was perfect. We walked into a building with the kind of architectural character that chain bookstores cannot manufacture, with small rooms opening into each other across multiple floors, wallpapered walls, and reading nooks distributed throughout that invite you to slow down rather than move through quickly. The book selection is well curated with staff recommendation cards on the shelves that actually reflect genuine enthusiasm rather than perfunctory notes. We saw limited edition hardcovers and local and regional titles appearing alongside the broader fiction and nonfiction selection. Browsing felt productive rather than overwhelming because the curation kept things focused. The kids section upstairs is one of the more delightful in Boston, with a train running along a track near the ceiling that tends to make a strong impression on younger visitors. There is also an art print vending machine on the second floor that draws its own audience of visitors looking for something small and specific to take home. The cafe occupies the lower level and operates as a separate experience from the bookshop above. We ordered the oat milk cappuccino with Vermont maple syrup, which was worth it. The morning glory scone and the popovers are two other items to consider. The cafe is tiny, around eight tables inside with a small patio, and reservations are recommended for breakfast and afternoon tea service. Pricing at the cafe is on the higher end, and certain fixed price service formats on specific dates push it considerably further, so checking current pricing before booking is worth doing. For a bookshop that doubles as a destination in its own right, Beacon Hill Books and Cafe delivers a cozy, curated experience that rewards lingering. It is the kind of place we would return to just to sit and read with a good coffee.
