Delicious coffee, drinks, amazing service and ambiance! My recommendations are: cafe de olla, lavender horchata with espresso, & passion manzanilla! Very kind staff, shoutout to Juancarlos the barista

A little sampler of tacos including fried chicken, brisket and birria.

Amazing. This spot is housed alongside a Mexican Restaurant, that was the main draw for me. Tacos were unique, amazing hand pressed tortillas, creative toppings, delicious meats. But the drink was a show stopper. Had a Green Tea Limeade, a name that does not begin to describe the delight it brought to my mouth. Hand shaken, hinted with high quality matcha and what seemed like fresh honeydew juice? Maybe it was just the play of flavors. Super cool staff, great vibe, amazing food and beverage. Check this place out. I know I'll be back soon!

I loved this place! I have always passed through this neighborhood but I didn't know about this coffee shop until recently. I ordered the brown cafe iced latte and it was really good! the barista who brought our drinks out was so friendly and actually told us about the regions they get their coffee beans. It was so nice to get to talk to the barista and also ask what are their popular drinks so that next time I can drink other options. The outdoor patio area also seems so nice to enjoy some brunch and a coffee. COVID: the employees follow protocol and are all wearing masks and being safe. Parking: there was plenty of street parking available when I went on a Wednesday afternoon.

The best brownie I have tasted in A WHILE! Just imagine the most perfectly squared, dark brown, moist, chewy and not too sweet brownie ever. Topped with fresh raspberries and a bit of powdered sugar! (coffee was just as good) 1000/100! FIRE FIND

Wow! Recently moved to the area and came here on a whim while looking for a new place to get my local coffee. Juan Carlos and Joel took care of me and explained everything on the menu thoroughly and we had a great conversation about the sourcing of their coffees. Definitely will be back for their breakfast burritos and tacos! I got the green tea limeade and vanilla cafecito and was not disappointed Just be aware they close at 4pm! Other than that I'm going to become a regular here for sure.

There are an abundance of coffee locations that you can come go on the east side, but there are very few, that bring a level of love care, and community to what they do. Café Café offers a rich variety to their coffee and drinks that are all made with some of the most premium ingredients you can find. But more than that they bring a sense of community. There makes you feel lucky and special to be in such a sacred space. If you find yourself in the need of not only some good coffee, a great conversation and positive vibes this is a place you should come.

I've been coming here for over three years & have yet to find a better, smoother pour-over. This spot is an absolute community gem serving the richest cup of coffee in Boyle Heights. If you love coffee and trying new beans and flavors, visit Joel & Xuan at cafe cafe mobile, on the corner of Mott & Cesar Chavez inside Milpa Grille. They are always searching for the best & sustainably sourced beans to share with their supporters. Their menu is simple but superbly curated & always uses the freshest ingredients. I visit several times a week for a perfectly brewed pour-over. In addition to great coffee, they serve delectable refreshers & teas; my favorite is their peach citrus honey. You can ask for it iced or hot as tea. Lastly, the crew is the best! They are the most thoughtful friendliest folks in the community. Take a break from the Starbies runs to check out ur local shops & start with cafe cafe mobile!

Wow, the coffee here is so impressive. AND they are open until 6 pm so you can get your caffeine fix at a later time too. The staff were super nice in explaining their menu. You can really see the attention to detail they give their coffee! They are currently using Cafe Estelar Mexican beans which they said is the #1 coffee bean in Mexico and #2 in the world. Also they default to oat milk and no sugar in their drinks which I absolutely love. I got an iced latte and it was so smooth and delicious and didn't need any add-ons. My boyfriend got the iced coffee with vanilla, honey, and cinnamon and it was also amazing. The drinks were around $4-$5 which is perfectly reasonable for the size and the quality of the coffee. The shop also had a musubi pop up at the time and they also sell breakfast food and tacos on the weekdays. I do not live in the neighborhood but I will definitely be back!

Love love love - the flavor was spot on, the price was great for the size, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. Above all I love that my community has an affordable coffee shop. Another recommendation of mine is their Vanilla Latte. If you try one latte, you must try them all.

I was genuinely excited to try this place, so unfortunately I left twice as disappointed not only by the rude service, but also because the flavors just weren't there. I've ordered takeout from here in the past and wasn't too impressed, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and figured maybe the food didn't travel well or simply wasn't as good by the time it got to me. I was hoping dining in would be a completely different experience, but sadly, that wasn't the case. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, but I'm hoping this feedback reaches someone who can actually address some of these issues, especially the service, since I noticed similar comments in quite a few other reviews. We tried the chilaquiles enfrijoladas and the French toast, along with a cortado and a café de olla latte. The enfrijoladas were way too salty and really needed something to balance the dish. For fried tortilla chips covered in bean sauce with one sad sunny side up egg just felt incomplete. A little something on the side to complement the flavors maybe the onion could be pickled or a little more crema and definitely a much lighter hand with the salt would make a big difference. The French toast was mediocre at best. The café de olla latte was unnecessarily too sweet, and the cortado was okay, but nothing particularly memorable. Overall, the experience just didn't live up to the hype on social media. I really wanted to love this place because it has so much potential. The ambiance is beautiful and I loved all the art and cultural influences throughout the space, which is why it's disappointing that the food and service didn't match that same level of care. I'd still be willing to give it another try in the future, and I genuinely hope I can come back and update this with a much more positive review. When you're drawing so much inspiration from the culture, I just wish the food represented it with the same care and attention that went into the space.

8/4/2026 3 1/2 Stars…read more First time at Damo. MATCHA EINSPANER Very creamy matcha. Matcha flavor is there, but it's not distinct matcha where you can taste the nuances of the matcha flavors. The cream top does make it very creamy and it does mask majority of the matcha flavor. It did taste like a dessert drink. It was enjoyable though. COLD BREW VANILLA Weirdly sour and smoky flavored cold brew. Slight floral flavor too. It was such an odd combination of flavors with the vanilla cold foam. The lingering aftertaste was not good either. It's neither this nor that. Would not recommend! FINANCIERS Their financiers are made by a local bakery called Musk. It seems their financier flavors are changed often, so no same flavors are in rotation. Sausage & Parmesan - The almond cake's vanilla flavor with the sausage and salty parmesan was a unique flavor. The almond cake was nice and spongy. It did take a bit of time to get used to the savory flavors with the almond cake. It's like a breakfast in an unexpected way. Nutella - Buttery almond cake with nutella and roasted hazelnuts. Enjoyed it! I think Nutella fans would like it. Mugwort + Fig - Buttery in the beginning and it ends with a good, medium-strength flavor of mugwort. Fig was garnish on top, so you barely get it. However, I like that they added the sweetness of the figs with the earthy bitter mugwort. Overall, it was uniquely delicious and mugwort was the star. Yuza + Apricot - A tad sweeter than expected due to the outer brush of yuza aka yuzu simple syrup. Loved the chewy apricot on top. It really brought a lovely fruityness to the financier. The yuzu flavor was there alongside the butteryness of the almond cake. All the financiers were done well! Delicious! Recommend trying at least one when you're at this location. Not sure if their financiers are offered at their other locations. CUSTOMER SERVICE It was good. Not terribly friendly, but still answered my questions. Staff were all busy making the drinks. AMBIANCE + SEATS Really large space with rows of tables and chairs. It was strange walking in and seeing various tables and seats to one side and it almost looked like a cafe used as office space. Seeing all the people sitting down on their laptops or talking, as though they're having a casual business meeting there. It was just strange. The tables were mixed wooden tables and chairs. There were long benches too for people waiting for takeout orders. The large space felt so roomy, I get why the tables were all taken. PARKING Street parking is available, yet when I was there in the early afternoon on a Tuesday, it was packed! The only place to park was the paid parking lot right across from Damo. Parking was $5.00. I wouldn't recommend parking elsewhere outside of that street, as it is a sketchy area and lots of homeless encampments around the area. Would I return? Not sure. I like the large, roomy warehouse space with lots of tables to sit in, but the cafe being in a sketchy area gives me hesitation. Not in love with $5.00 parking too. One of my drinks was good, but the other was bad. The only thing I loved was the financiers.

The drink that we got was called the Luxurious George, but if match is not your cup of tea then fear not, they also have a drink called the Furious George which is a coffee version. Drink: The drink itself was fine. We opted for the baseline of 100% sweetness, regular ice, and oat milk (regular 2% milk is preferred!). I was surprised to not have tasted much of the banana flavor as I hoped for. Maybe it was the oat milk overpowering the taste. The matcha itself had a light flavor, despite the color, it was not bold but palatable. Price: The Luxurious George was definitely a luxury because it costed around $8. So the total for two drinks were around $17 plus tax and tips. The price is definitely on a higher side but in exchange for quality matcha? Which one would you like? Service: The staff were really friendly. It was our first time here and we asked for recommendations. They took their time answering all of our questions and finished our orders really fast. Vibes: The overall cafe was really nice. I loved how there was a center for water, extra sweeteners, and other items for you to use. There were plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. Their choice of music was also great! Parking: There are plenty of free parking around the plaza. However, there is also a free parking structure behind the plaza for more space.
