This is a different location for Pannikin as it is a lot smaller than their other locations, but it is very calm and inviting. Definitely a great space to work, study, meet up with a few friends or family. A few tables inside and outside for seating options. This is probably the easiest location to find parking though! The barista we recently experienced was kind but definitely needed help as it was just her taking orders and making drinks. It did take a while to get everything made and we even had to give our order multiple times for each item for her to process it in their POS system. If it was busier it would have been an even longer wait, thank goodness it was just us. I love the Jimi Hendrix as my usual, but I decided to switch it up once I saw they had brown sugar spice latte on their seasonal menu. It was as delicious as expected. Not as strong as the Jimi Hendrix, but just as flavorful. My husband has his regular latte and loved it as usual. We just love their specific coffee for espresso. Their baked goods here are as lovely as other locations. Everything is made in house too. I love their variety of options, especially their vegan/gluten free options. Something for everyone! I had the raspberry gluten free muffin and my husband had the jalapeño cheddar cheese croissant. Couldn't even tell the muffin was gluten free it was SO moist! I was lucky to get a bite of the croissant before my husband devoured it all. Definitely made in house and a real layered croissant. Excited that we found a Pannikin nearer to us in Carlsbad so we had to check it out. Located in a business park, it was a bit difficult to find but when we did, we saw that it was located right next door to the famous Prager Brothers bakery. It's a very small but cute place, a miniature of the bigger Pannikin off Highway 101 in Encinitas. There's a couple of small tables on its patio and more inside. It's a great place to meet a friend or two for coffee. I went 2 days in a row, Friday afternoon and mid-morning on Saturday and both times weren't busy at all. The baristas are warm & friendly, and gave us a choice of using ceramic cups and/or plates if dining in or to-go containers. Their coffee is one of the best around and they sell their coffee beans here. They also have various baked goods they make on site which I was excited for, because their scones are my absolute favorite, especially the raspberry. So happy to have found this place and recommended it to family and friends. We'll definitely be back! read more

Was looking for a different type of coffee shop before I headed into work while visiting the area. I remember driving by the larger café and was excited to see that there was a smaller outpost of this location right by where I was headed to work that morning. I had to do an extra drive around of the parking lot to find the exact entrance as it's located in an industrial park, but found it and quickly head in. The location is very small with a few tables, but only had one person working to take orders and make drinks. This resulted in my visit being a bit longer than intended as there were two people ahead of me and took roughly 10 minutes to be able to place my order. Once my order was in though the drink was made fairly quickly and it was tasty. I opted for the Jimi Hendrix, which included Mexican chocolate and was the perfect t balance of espresso and chocolate. Although I didn't get any food, they looked like they had some great options that I would definitely try on a future visit. I think that this is a great spot to pick up your morning coffee but, plan on a little longer than normal wait if there looks like there's anyone in the parking lot or inside. read more

Delicious coffee and equally delicious dessert. Had a slice of coconut pie and a hazelnut latte. Latte was perfection. Perfectly sweet with a subtle taste of hazelnut. All the baking is done at this location. Close to work. Can't wait to come back. Parking was not an issue during lunch time on a weekday. Service was super friendly and helpful. read more

Next to Praeger Bros, dropped by and was psyched to get a coffee--- Unfortunately worst service and coffee ever and at $7.50 for an extra shot$1.50??? The girl literally added Vanilla syrup then poured the oatmilk to the top of cup and shots dropped in. She handed me both of the drinks just like that. No stirring or any care in the world to make a good Vanilla Latte. Just hate when there is no effort to make a coffee these days. Even Starbucks makes it better even without their effort. read more

Once you've been to Pannikin, any opportunity to go back is a must! The coffee is always delicious. A recent convert to gluten free, I loved that they had multiple options for me to choose from and were very transparent and patient with my questions about ingredients. I can't tell you how the coffee, pastries, or anything else was today. There's a good 10 tables, they all look comfy but sterile, nobody sat in them. But what's unforgivable is not having a cashier at the register. There were 2 people in a different room behind a window but useless to me. I waited a few more minutes then hit the road up a mile for a Starbucks with attentive cashiers ready for my money. I'll try again someday but maybe not. Walked in, the employee gave me no greeting, wouldn't even acknowledge me. I stood there waiting and the employee kept fixing the flavoring, ice and cups. I waited about 5 minutes and left. Great to see Pannikin in the area. It was quite surprising to say the least.. I thought it was an error at first when I saw it on yelp on Palmer Way. Very surprising also to know it's next to a Prager Brothers which has a very loyal following. I ordered cold brew coffee and had a blueberry muffin. They were out of chocolate chip muffins. The selection of baked goods is about 40% of what the Pannikin headquarters location has in Leucadia. Unlike Prager Brothers there is no line. The woman working behind the counter was very polite and kind. It is very clean as well. The cold brew was a little too bold and strong and needed sweetener unfortunately. I wish they kept their baked goods that don't require refrigeration enclosed as opposed to sitting on top of the glass display case. read more

The prices here are insanely high for mediocre coffee. Mocha was bitter and had no flavor besides a slight spice. Also the dark haired staff member that served me a few days ago was extremely unprofessional and barely acknowledged me as I walked in. Very disappointed. read more

Pannikin opened up a new spot right next to Pragers bakery and pizza place. Although Pannikin still has their Encinitas location off 101, this new location will be where their primary bakery is located. You can get coffee, tea, pies and other baked goods here. When you're at Pragers, you might miss it but it's to the far right of the same building. read more

got two coffees this morning and a beautiful girl took my order :) she had a soft voice and it felt super calm inside. drinks tasted amazing and it wasn't busy at all considering i went at around 9am. there's a pretty view of the fields and i appreciate how hidden away it is. the encinitas location is always packed, but this felt like the same quality coffee with just a smaller selection of foods and drinks. if you get a simple coffee/tea from pannikin i'd recommend the fly-by! definitely an introverts paradise read more
