Such a delicious and romantic spot for dinner right near the heart of downtown Santa Barbara! With excellent service and delicious food, you will not be disappointed coming here for a date night or special celebration. I especially recommend the Carpaccio di Pere Bella Elena, the thinly sliced pears and overall salad was so fresh and the perfect start to a meal of rich and tasty Italian food.

Where do I begin??? Olió E Limone is more than italian dining... it's un ESPERIENZA!! Beautiful dining room and decor. Perfect for an intimate dinner or celebratory gathering. It was such a beautiful evening we chose to dine al fresco. We started with the tuna tartare. It was so fresh and flavorful, it really kicked things off perfectly. And the eggplant soufflé with that goat cheese center???? ( Timballo di Melanzane con Purea di Pomodoro ) Absolutely unforgettable. For our entrees, we chose one of the specials, the sea bass ravioli. It was delicate and just melted in my mouth. The tortelloni di spinach al burro e salvia was rich and very satisfying. Just when we thought the meal couldn't possibly be any better, the Panna Cotta and the Bauletto di Cioccolato e Banana sent our tastebuds to new heights. The staff's dedication to their craft is truly inspiring, from the hostess to the server to the busboys/support staff. They all contributed to making our dinner such a memorable dining experience. It is obvious the chef has a great passion for food because it really shines through in every bite. We are still thinking about how delicious everything was and looking for our next "excuse" to dine here again.

This is my favorite Italian restaurant in SB. The staff always feels like family to me. This is not your typical red sauce joint. The owner incorporates a lot of his Sicilian background in his food and to be honest, I love it. After coming back from Sicily last year, I can easily say his is some of the best. My favorite pastas are the linguine allo scoglio and a simple cappellini. Their pork tenderloin and roast chicken are always some of my favorite go to. Whenever they have the fried squash blossoms as the special appetizers, it's like music to my ears. The service is best in town!

this incredible Italian establishment has been around for a while, and we have visited before and make it every time we're in town. Dying outside or in inside dining room with beautiful decor. That's some great salads, including with prawns and melon. The other are not to miss the baked Parmesan. And a variety of pastas and other entrées, but it's hard to find a place that has squid in pasta with shellfish done well and this is the get it. Just fabulous and end with the tasty

One of my absolute favorite restaurants in Santa Barbara. Have been going for years as the menu is always superb, always consistent with excellent service, excellent flavors and just a wonderful atmosphere.

Went in there because I wanted a pasta meal. And it was after 3:00PM. Actually it was ONLY after 3:00 PM. The waitress told me they don't have pasta. WHAT ITALIAN RESTAURANT DON'T SERVE PASTA? But their menu showed bunch of pasta dishes. The waitress said the one next door serve pasta, but they were closed. So I ordered a salad instead and she asked if i want add any protein. i ordered chicken to added to the salads. I also had ordered an Ice Tea. Now the Ice Tea came in a brandy style glass. She didn't ask for a refill. The salads came in a dinner salad bowl, less than 12 inches, the plain chicken came in cutlet cube pieces. That whole meal cost over $33.00 without tips yet. I don't think a small bowl of salad and piece of chicken is worth $33.00. She didn't even come back to ask if I wanted a refill. Definitely will not be a place to revisit again when I come back to Santa Barbara again.

I have been coming here for at least 15 years. It's one of my favorite places in Santa Barbara for special occasions, celebrations or romantic dinners. The wine selection is amazing with a beautifully displayed wine cellar. I love their duck ravioli, olive oil and fresh bread. I have bought many bottles of their olive oil for myself and gifts. This time I tried the special risotto of the day. It had shrimp, asparagus and parmesan. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. I shared the creme brûlée and panna cotta. They both had a nice silky texture and were creamy. I liked how many desserts they had and they are all made in house, daily. The service is phenomenal. They are on top of refills, checking on you and picking up plates. Our server was friendly, attentive and explained all the daily special very well.

If you've not found this spot you are missing out!…read more Yes lunch & dinner are delicious- but breakfast here is like the best kept secret in Santa Barbara. Big fan of the toast, jam, and TRUE Italian combos. Everting from delightful eggs to sautéed peppers. Lunch entrees come with a simple salad- a perfect day date. Italian was on the menu tonight and Yelp brought us here…read more Via Maestro 42 has a small interior mostly made up of two top tables, and then an outside covered area within the parking lot. On this fine March evening, we opted to sit outdoors. I was concerned with how much lighting there would be once the sun set but they didn't really have any four tops available inside for us. (In the end, the interior lights from the neighboring business helped illuminate our table that was directly in front of the restaurant, and not necessarily under the outside covered area.) After we put in our order and received the complimentary bread (with the provided olive oil), we were questioning whether we had ordered too much food. We attempted to ask the waiter if it was too much and he didn't really answer our question. And since there was only one table next to us and he was dining solo, it was hard to gauge the portion sizes. We ordered: * Antipasto Sampler Platter $19.95 - A generous selection from their deli case, perfect for sharing. The butter bean with tuna salad was a first for me and has me thinking of how to incorporate more butter beans in my diet. Other items included grilled zucchini, grilled eggplant, mixed olives, farro salad, green beans, salami, tomato and mozzarella. * Bucatini all'Amatriciana $22.95 - We opted for this as it was a described as a traditional dish from he Lazio region. It was enjoyed by all. * Linguine con Vongole $26.95 - Next to arrive was the linguine, which was the absolute favorite for us all. It was light, filled with clams, and just had a great taste overall. * Farfalle al Pesto $19.95 - The Little Gal wanted pesto, but this version was so heavy. It was exhausting to eat and probably our least favorite. * Polenta Del Montanaro $21.95 - The mushrooms and polenta sounded amazing, but again this was very heavy for us. There were also a few hard bits of polenta mixed in. It was just overwhelming in not the best way. Overall, the portions are HUGE and just perfect for sharing. We would have dreaded being stuck with one dish on our own as it's just too much. We were also concerned about the $3.95 split charge fee that may apply, hence why we went with four entrees. You can easily get your fill with a few items here without breaking the bank. I can definitely see why they have such great ratings. The restroom is located in the back, so you do need to walk outside to access the restroom. I guess this avoids having you walk through the kitchen to get there. Service was fine. We did have one primary waiter but the other staff stepped in when necessary. It was pretty busy for a weekday evening, at least for all the outside tables. Since it's a bit away from the touristy area, you do get a sense there are more locals enjoying this spot.

The lighting and overall surroundings were comfortable and inviting, allowing me to settle in for a productive afternoon with ease. It is a small space so we were seated very close to two other tables (the kind of close where it's hard to focus on your own convo). We ordered the Caesar Salad to start. I feel like I've had this exact salad (as in gem lettuce, breadcrumbs, lemony dressing) other places executed a little better. The breadcrumbs were almost too hard creating a grainy/sandy texture rather than a nice crunch. Good flavor though. We also got the Meatballs "Alla Vodka." This was the highlight of the meal for me. My husband thought they could've used more of a binder but personally I liked that they felt more meaty than bready. I recommend using the spoon to eat the meatballs so you get enough sauce with each bite. Don't want any of that delicious sauce to go to waste! We got the pepperoni pizza for our entree. This pizza was just okay to me based on my personal preferences so take this with a grain of salt! I'm not the biggest sourdough person and since the pizza is fermented it has a similar flavor. I also wish that the pizza was a little less charred. I think it was more burnt on top than charred but maybe that's what they're going for and I'm just not the audience. We enjoyed the pepperoni pizza with the house ranch. I really enjoyed this bc I prefer a dill-heavy ranch and this definitely delivered that! Overall, solid meal and would come back. Our server was a little awkward but didn't really affect our experience all that much.
