The honey mac latte is seriously delicious. It's not too sweet and the cold foam/whipped cream on the top is nutty and sweet. 10/10! The matcha here is not our favorite. I'm not sure if it was the one we got, but it tasted like it had a bunch of cinnamon which I don't particularly like in a matcha. It was also on the thicker side. Unfortunately I cannot lie to the public so I need to update my review. My experience today was not good. I was in line and a tourist cut in front of me to order. It was not a long line, just a rude person. The tall young man with the long hair was very patient and kind so no complaints there. $8 for a small oat latte. I waited 18 minutes for a latte. It tasted like water coffee. I am a serious coffee drinker. I'll never get a coffee drink from here again. I would suggest an older adult to manage this place and maybe taste your coffee drinks and improve? I guess it's just a money mill. Sad because it's a cute shop. read more

When they expanded to downtown Santa Barbara, I spent many more hours at that location as a graduate student. Caje has been my favorite coffee spot for the past 10 years, and never in my wildest dreams did I imagine them following me South and opening in Ventura - and boy, did they show up! This location is absolutely gorgeous and in the perfect spot to stop for a coffee break or a bite to eat after strolling down Main Street. It's both spacious and cozy, with a vibe that reminds me of a wrap-around porch in the South. It is decorated beautifully and feels both peaceful and lively - perfect for meeting up with friends to chat, studying/doing work, or enjoying a book solo. While there is the normal menu, you can also order their signature drinks at this location, which is such a cool concept (picture craft cocktails... but with coffee). Not only are these drinks absolutely stunning and works of art themselves, they also taste amazing. I've tried the Burn Out and the Bella Rose. The Burn Out was such an experience for my taste buds, and I loved watching the baristas scorch the top of each drink. The matcha in the Bella Rose was so smooth and creamy, with just the right amount of sweetness. Even though the line was out the door and wrapped around the building, the staff worked efficiently, and I didn't have to wait too long for my orders. If I could give Caje more stars, I would. What a great little gem in Ventura I love going here when I am in town !! today I had the pleasure of trying the Bella Rose Matcha and oh my goodness literally can't wait to go back for another one so good. What took me so long to find this gem? It's located in a craftsman style house thoughtfully converted into a cafe and restaurant. Ample seating on the multi-level porches and patios. There is some cozy indoor seating too. The service was friendly. The coffee was fresh, hot and flavorful. The bagel sandwich with pesto, green tomatoes and sprouts was delicious. Stopped by on a Sunday around 2:00 pm. There is a small parking lot behind but from what I remember there were only 5 designated spots for Caje and 4 of those spots were only for 15 minutes. Street parking is available but a bit tricky. We ordered and the cashier was polite. After ordering you find a spot to sit. There was plenty of seating available which was very nice. Especially for a Sunday! Unfortunately, we did not hear our name called from outside or if our name was called to begin with. Not sure how long our food was waiting before we realized. We've been wondering what would finally go in at this building, and they made great use of the place! Absolutely love the outdoor seating - plenty of it and super relaxing. They definitely bring the coffee game here. We tried 2 of their signature drinks (which can only be ordered for dine in), and they are FANCY! Beautifully decorated and elaborate with more complex combination of flavors. The Bella Rose was a great spin on a matcha latte with a more floral flavor. The Jupiter's Forest is very floral - not exactly what was expected and is more of an acquired taste. Coffee is definitely pricier here - I paid $24 for 2 - but considering the presentation and the ingredient list, the price seems appropriate. Didn't order any of their food here, but it looks super tasty. I've have been to Caje in Santa Barbara and this location is just as beautiful! My friend and went early during the week and we were able to sit wherever we wanted which was nice. We opted to sit outside on the cute round chairs! I ordered their matcha drink "Bella Rose" it was good, it had a little less matcha flavor and more milky than what I like. I'll try a different drink next time. The service was good. You order your drink, pay for it and then once your drink is ready someone calls your name and you pick it up. So glad we finally have a Caje Coffee Roasters in Ventura!! Went at around 0830 and there were about 6 people already seated and working. First impression was wow, it's way bigger and has more seating available than SB! Wheelchair accessible with stairs leading up to the front entrance. It has a very welcoming, clean, and trendy ambiance. We were greeted right away as we walked in. The menu has a lot more options. Same prices as the other locations. We ordered our usual drinks, The Burnout & Jupiter's Forest, and tried their Coast toast & Queen Elizabeth Acaí bowl. The toast was delicious. Acaí bowl was good, but overly tart for us. This location is the first time I actually received The Burnout flavorful & hot - highly preferred it like this as previous drinks from other locations were always just very slightly warm. *Specialty drinks cannot be ordered to go, jfyi. We wish there were more outlets available especially outside. I can definitely see a lot of people coming here to do work. So make sure your laptops are fully charged! It does get busy right before noon, but people were in and out quickly. Highly recommend this cafe and hope they'll have more nondairy specialty options in the future. Next visit, I'd try the works bagel or market bagel and add an egg. We came by another time for cocktails and had the espresso martinis (also really sweet but a much needed jolt!). So I'm happy to find a drink I love here. The BURNOUT! I thought it was a cold drink but it's actually a hot one. The burst of cozy flavors that come from this drink is unique. No strong bitter coffee in this one. It's smooth and creamy. The rim on the cup (black volcanic salt and ginger) amplifies the yummy flavors perfectly! The baristas are pretty quick too. Having long admired their Santa Barbara spots, I was thrilled to see them make their way down the coast -- and they absolutely delivered. I've tried three of their signature drinks so far: Bella Rose Matcha: Elegant and floral, though the matcha flavor didn't stand out as much as I hoped, especially for the price. I actually prefer their simple iced matcha drink. (7/10) Maui Brad: I was excited about this one, as I usually LOVE banana-inspired drinks, but it leaned sour, and the flavors didn't quite blend for me. (6/10) The Burnout: The standout! A smoky bourbon-pecan-infused drink that's bold, sweet, and completely addictive. Served warm. I could easily drink 10 of these and will def be back exclusively for them! I really wanted to love this spot, the acai bowls are absolutely amazing, with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the matcha was top-notch. The coffee was good too, and I ended up visiting twice on a short trip because I enjoyed it so much. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing both times. The girl making the coffee was consistently rude and made us feel like we were an inconvenience simply for asking for basic things, even ignoring my polite thanks. Hello Yelpers! My GF & I decided to spend Sunday Brunch here last Sunday & Caje did NOT disappoint! They were very easy to get to. We took the 101, exited California, made a quick left on Thompson & another quick right onto Palm & it was another quick left into the parking lot. Be sure to park where it clearly marks Caje, or you may get towed. There were plenty of spots when we arrived & also tons of street parking. Fortunately, the street they are in was not closed like the rest of Main Street was. It is located in a beautifully renovated house that is now used commercially. There were plenty of vignettes for you to sit, whether it was under some shade, or out in the open, in the lower part of the building or a few more steps up there's another set of seats. There is also plenty of seating inside. It looks small, but there's actually plenty of seating inside, if you want to be covered. My good friend and I really had our sites on their specialty menu drinks especially the Bella Rose so my friend ordered the Bella Rose and I ended up ordering the burnout which was surprisingly very delicious. It was small, but it really packed a punch. I was able to customize the Burnout and get it made with oat milk and to get it done caffeine free. Here is what we ordered... Bella Rose (non-dairy) The Burn Out (non-dairy & decaf) The Queen Elizabeth (vegan açaí bowl) The Avocado Toast (vegan) The Caprese Bagel Sandwich (vegetarian) My friend & I thoroughly enjoyed our time here, so much so that we were here almost 2 hours! And we were STUFFED! They definitely have generous portions & the ambiance was so nice. The interior was well throughout, beautiful, light, airy & very intentional. I love that the menu was very clear front and center which makes it so much easier for people to order right when they walk in because it's eye-level, which a lot of businesses I don't understand don't make an effort to do that. I came here with a friend around noon on a Sunday. I got the market bagel sandwich with the cheese bagel and an iced vanilla late in my own personal mug. I loved the little details like the Hawaii newspaper magazine that the bagel is on. Honestly, it was busy I really didn't think we were going to find a seat but we did on beautiful rattan seats.
