We finally made it to St. Lucille's in Knox and wow--worth every bite! We tried both the regular…read moreand voodoo-style jambalaya and they did not disappoint. The voodoo kicked it up a notch with just the right heat--spicy, bold, and full of flavor. If you like a little fire, go voodoo! But the real surprise? That praline cream cheese spread!!! Sweet, creamy, with a nutty crunch that added the perfect southern charm. We honestly wanted to put it on everything! The vibe was just as good as the food--laid-back, soulful, and full of flavor. We'll definitely be back.

The decor is right on point. Cozy, downtown vibe with some New Orleans flair. The rest of the experience is very casual. Order at the bar and food delivered to the table in plastic baskets and utensils. This wasn't what I was expecting, but after getting the food I didn't care. We rolled the dice on the Hop Cakes appetizer and they were a fantastic surprise. I didn't know what to expect, but gobbled them up. I wanted to go traditional for my first visit and got the red beans and rice and was not disappointed. My wife got the gumbo and said it was on par with the best she has ever had. The food was not as spicy as traditional Cajun but that actually worked great for us. We like a little spice but want to be able to taste the quality ingredients that were used. If you want to bring the heat, grab some hot sauce to "pepper the gumbo" as they say in the bayou.

We visited twice in 24 hours. First late night for a dessert and then in the morning for breakfast…read more(we were staying at the hotel above the restaurant). The bread pudding was delicious last night, and the servers were so friendly even with our arriving later in the evening. The breakfast this morning was glorious. We had the fried chicken and lost bread (aka French toast) and breakfast sandwiches made on beignets and Gouda grits. We sat on the balcony, which is totally worth waiting an extra 10 minutes if you're wondering. But the wait time was definitely an overestimate and we got called in 15 minutes sooner than expected. The service was wonderful. Our server was attentive, and even filled my Stanley with iced water to take with me for the day, which was a lovely touch.

First off, the vibes here are absolutely amazing. I sat outside on the second floor porch and it…read morewas such a cute atmosphere with great music playing the whole time. The service was also incredible. Our waitress was so kind and attentive, and even the busser was friendly and held great conversation, which honestly made the experience feel even more welcoming. I ordered the gumbo and it was spectacular. The portion size was perfect, super filling without being too much, and the cornbread that came with it was absolutely delicious and paired perfectly with the gumbo. I also got the roasted sweet potatoes and if you only order one thing on the menu, let it be those. They were sweet, flavorful, and genuinely some of the best sweet potatoes I have ever had in my life. I'm already thinking about coming back just for them alone. Overall, such a great experience and I will definitely be back!
