Delicious, beautiful and delivered! Arrived in Poipu on a Tuesday and decided to find a cake for our son's 30th birthday-- saw the reviews and called Sandi. She was a sweetheart, talked me through options and I ordered a small chocolate cake with Nutella filling and happy birthday in blue. What was delivered was FAR beyond my expectations!! (See picture!). I will order more cakes from Sandi even when we're not celebrating a birthday!
Sandi provided us with the most beautiful cake for my daughters 7th birthday. There was such care and attention to detail in every aspect of its decoration. It was perfect in every way and DELISH! Oh my was it delicious. Subtle coconut flavoring in the crumb and which had just the right density - and the filling was so creamy and tart. It added just the right contrast to the just sweet enough buttercream. This may be the best cake Ive ever had, and Sandi was so sweet and accommodating! Highly recommend.
I was grateful to have found Sandi. I am not from Kauai so I was nervous because I wasn't going to be able to try it beforehand, but I took a leap of faith. She definitely exceeded my expectations. She was very responsive since day one. She helped us choose the flavor based on what we liked. We decided to go with her Kona Mocha cake, which is a rich chocolate cake filled with fudge and espresso swiss meringue buttercream. This cake was the best cake I have EVER had. The cake itself was very soft and the filling actually tasted like coffee and it wasn't too sweet. Not only did the cake taste amazing, but she did a fantastic job decorating it. We were so happy that our guests loved our cake too. You won't regret ordering a cake from her. I wish I could go back just for a slice.
She did a fabulous job. I said I had a 3 year old who liked Spider-Man and cars and that I didn't want a lot of food coloring, and she delivered a beautiful 7-inch cake with the remote controlled Spider-Man car on top! It even had white chocolate webbing and a delicious tropical fruit filling of pineapple and banana.
Was having a hard time finding a bakery to make my sister's wedding cake and came across this Yelp page. I gave her a call and told her I wanted a three layer 6 inch semi naked cake without borders. She asked me what flavor and told me Likikoi was popular. Done. Mailed her a check. On the day of the wedding, she showed up with this beautiful cake, on a cake board complete with banana leaves (I bought and took a cake stand with me but I shouldn't have bothered), and even though I told her no flowers, she brought a ziploc bag with fresh flowers with stems prepared to decorate the cake. Guys, this level of service is so above and beyond on so many levels. First of all, my own $700 engagement cake made in LA made me get my own flowers from the florist for decoration! Second, this cake was METICULOUSLY made. I bake layered tiered cakes for the odd occasion, and I can appreciate the meticulous clean beautiful layers of cake, frosting, and lilikoi filling when the cake was cut open. Wow. Third, the cake was moist and delicious! Most guests went for seconds at least, and after the party was over, the whole cake was gone (this is a party of 9 adults, this was a LOT of cake per person!) I haven't written an extensive review in a long time but I cannot recommend Sandi's cakes enough. If you ever need a cake on Kauai, there is no question, Sandi is your gal. The ONLY thing that I could improve on the experience would be the ability to pay and communicate online. Perhaps Venmo or even Zelle would have been great. Then a confirmation text or call on the day of or the day before would also have been very nice. Also, I think she needs a PR manager because obviously I think everybody needs to know about Sandi and her amazing cakes Thank you thank you Sandi!!
I can not say enough about Sandi's amazing cakes, amazing customer service & overall best ordering experience! I called from California to order a cake & have it delivered to the hotel my friend was staying at. She was celebrating a special birthday so this called for a special cake. Sandi made the PERFECT cake!!! She delivered it to the hotel & was kind enough to work with the staff to arrange the in person delivery. I will forever promote Sandi & her amazing cakes!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart Sandi!!

She also delivered the cake. It was perfect. It was not too sweet and had amazing flavor. The flowers were so beautiful we saved one for the whole trip!
Sandi's cakes are amazing! I was fortunate enough to find her Yelp page and contact information before our elopement to Kauai. The pictures and reviews from others speak volumes about her work and VERY delicious cakes. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a great Wedding cake to use Sandi. She was great to work with and easy to talk to over the phone. We arranged all the details ahead of time and everything was good to go for our pick-up. Turned out her place was right across the street from our Air BnB so we could walk over! Her cake was excellent, delicious and so beautiful. It really made the day very special. 100% recommended!
Sandi is truly amazing at her craft! We needed a birthday cake for a 2-year old in 3-days time, and she was responsive and excited to take on the project. I was just expecting a small cake with some decorations for our daughter's "Bluey" themed birthday party - she actually made Bluey! Not only was it the centerpiece of the party, but everyone was stunned by how good it tasted! She used fresh strawberries inside and the frosting was a hit! I will continue to seek Sandi's talents for all of our future birthdays and events. Thank you Sandi!

Cakes by Sandi! She helped me surprise my mother and sister who share a birthday. It being our mothers 60th Birthday I knew I wanted something special and by Sandis reviews I knew I would get an amazing cake! I gave her no decorations ideas I left it up to her and she delivered above and beyond! It was a complete surprise to our mother and everyone loved the cake we ordered a two tier one Chocolate and one passion fruit I think amazing! 10/10 use her for all your special occasions she won't disappoint. Also they mention she delivered to our Airbnb I mean that's great service. read more

Sandi is just the greatest! She made our wedding cake in March 2019 and then she made us a smaller version of our wedding cake for our 2 year wedding anniversary. I would highly recommend her. She is very responsive, helpful and friendly. read more

Hands down the best wedding cake I have ever had. I'm not being dramatic when I say that, to me, the wedding cake was the one thing I was most excited about on our big day. I really wanted to make sure our cake was awesome, and boy did Sandi meet (and actually exceed!) my expectations!! We ordered a 2-tiered vanilla cake brushed with lilikoi and finished with buttercream frosting. My friends and I have traveled the world and ate at some pretty phenomenal bakeries, and we all agreed it was the best cake we have had at a wedding. Not to mention, she added this awesome edible glitter to our cake! Truly the best, super moist, tasted really fresh, and the lilikoi wasn't too strong...perfection. I'm not kidding, for our 10 year anniversary I hope Sandi is still making cakes because I want a small version of this mailed to us in California. :) read more

We decided to do a destination wedding on Kaua'i this past week and through Yelp and a few other resources, I managed to find Sandi online. With a few easy phone calls, we were able to decide on cake flavor and style and she hit it out of the park! The cake was simply beautiful and one of the best cakes I've had in a long time. We went with the macadamia vanilla nut on the bottom, passionfruit on the top and she even made a groom's cake special since he really wanted carrot cake. Two layers easily served our 25 guests and we had plenty leftover to enjoy for the remainder of our stay on the island. Sandi was a joy to work with. The only heads up would be that she is based in Poipu and otherwise doesn't deliver (it worked out perfectly for us regardless). Can't give enough praise! Thank you! read more

The cake Sandi made me for my elopement was one of my favorite parts of my day. Honestly it turned out even better than I could have ever imagined. I dyed some wooden flowers to make sure the decorations matched the colors I was looking for and Sandi incorpoated them beautifully. My only disappointment was that I had to cut it to eat it. I called sandy 3 weeks before my wedding and ask if she could make me cake last minute. She was extremely helpful took the time to explain every type of cake along with the different flavors. (Since I'm in California and can't just hop on a plane to try them out and see them.) She was even able to deliver it to where we were having our reception with out an extra charge since she has her shop in the area we were having it. My cake was absolutely perfect with how it looked and the taste was amazing! If you're have a destination wedding like we did and have no idea where to start with a cake. Sandi is your go to lady! You will not be disappointed. read more

This cake was absolutely AMAZING!!! Not only was it so perfectly decorated, the taste was exquisite. The chocolate cake was moist and fresh, the whipped icing was fluffy, the coconut cream filling was so delicious. The sea life decorations were made of white chocolate-so yummy. I cannot express how happy we were with our cake. Everyone was shocked by how delicious it was; it was not a frozen decorated cake, but clearly baked fresh that morning. We were in Kauai celebrating our 30 anniversary and I'm very sad I won't be able to get another one of these on the mainland. Mahalo Sandi! read more

Cakes by Sandi made our wedding cake for our wedding at Plantation Gardens on April 5th, 2014. The cake was delicious and moist. Everyone raved that it was the most delicious cake that they ever had at a wedding. We opted for the Kona Mocha and the Hawaiian Carrot Cake flavors. If you love carrot cake like we do, I cannot recommend that flavor enough! My only regret is that we didn't do the whole cake in that flavor. read more

I had a last minute cake request and called Sandi based on the Yelp reviews. Sandi made a BEAUTIFUL and Delicious cake and accommodated our last minute request. The fresh flowers on the cake were amazing and the decorations on the cake were so beautiful. It wAs a big hit for our hard to please even planner. We had the vanilla cake with passion fruit and macadamia nut filling. Not something we would normally pick but since we were in Hawaii we did and I am so glad we did it was delicious!!! read more

I went to Kauai recently in April 2018 for my 30th birthday. I told my boyfriend all I wanted (other than the trip of course) was a beautiful birthday cake! Never really had one before. I decided to call Sandi based on her Yelp reviews being positive. I told her I wanted a small cake for two people. I wanted a naked cake, and I wanted pink, purple and green colors and leaves. Something super tropical and pretty. I also wanted "Aloha 30." She only charged $65 for the smallest size (10 people). I was surprised by the low price. Bay Area cakes seem to be a lot more for something kind of custom. I even told her I would pay more if needed to make it beautiful, and she said no, that the price was ok! She delivered it right to our hotel and I was in love!! Not only was it a beautiful naked cake, but the flavors were amazing! Cake was moist and delish! Lemon was perfectly tart, and I got another tropical flavor (maybe passion fruit I can't remember). So good!!!! She recommended the flavor. She added sparkle dust also that you can't really see in my pics. Such a good cake!!! Definitely recommend! She is so friendly and kind as well!! When I go back, I will order again for no reason! =) read more
