Delicious, beautiful and delivered! Arrived in Poipu on a Tuesday and decided to find a cake for our son's 30th birthday-- saw the reviews and called Sandi. She was a sweetheart, talked me through options and I ordered a small chocolate cake with Nutella filling and happy birthday in blue. What was delivered was FAR beyond my expectations!! (See picture!). I will order more cakes from Sandi even when we're not celebrating a birthday!

Sandi did phenomenal cake work! Efficient communication. Decorations beautiful. Passion fruit buttercream fantastic! Sandi...thank you for helping us celebrate our friend!

Birthday Cake

Sandi provided us with the most beautiful cake for my daughters 7th birthday. There was such care and attention to detail in every aspect of its decoration. It was perfect in every way and DELISH! Oh my was it delicious. Subtle coconut flavoring in the crumb and which had just the right density - and the filling was so creamy and tart. It added just the right contrast to the just sweet enough buttercream. This may be the best cake Ive ever had, and Sandi was so sweet and accommodating! Highly recommend.

She baked and decorated the two layered cake.

I was grateful to have found Sandi. I am not from Kauai so I was nervous because I wasn't going to be able to try it beforehand, but I took a leap of faith. She definitely exceeded my expectations. She was very responsive since day one. She helped us choose the flavor based on what we liked. We decided to go with her Kona Mocha cake, which is a rich chocolate cake filled with fudge and espresso swiss meringue buttercream. This cake was the best cake I have EVER had. The cake itself was very soft and the filling actually tasted like coffee and it wasn't too sweet. Not only did the cake taste amazing, but she did a fantastic job decorating it. We were so happy that our guests loved our cake too. You won't regret ordering a cake from her. I wish I could go back just for a slice.

She did a fabulous job. I said I had a 3 year old who liked Spider-Man and cars and that I didn't want a lot of food coloring, and she delivered a beautiful 7-inch cake with the remote controlled Spider-Man car on top! It even had white chocolate webbing and a delicious tropical fruit filling of pineapple and banana.

Wedding cake. Mr and Mrs.

Beautiful wedding cake. It was delicious! Thank you Sandi for baking it so quickly for us! The best!!!

AMAZING beautiul meticulous delicious cake with lilikoi filling!
Cobugi L.

Was having a hard time finding a bakery to make my sister's wedding cake and came across this Yelp page. I gave her a call and told her I wanted a three layer 6 inch semi naked cake without borders. She asked me what flavor and told me Likikoi was popular. Done. Mailed her a check. On the day of the wedding, she showed up with this beautiful cake, on a cake board complete with banana leaves (I bought and took a cake stand with me but I shouldn't have bothered), and even though I told her no flowers, she brought a ziploc bag with fresh flowers with stems prepared to decorate the cake. Guys, this level of service is so above and beyond on so many levels. First of all, my own $700 engagement cake made in LA made me get my own flowers from the florist for decoration! Second, this cake was METICULOUSLY made. I bake layered tiered cakes for the odd occasion, and I can appreciate the meticulous clean beautiful layers of cake, frosting, and lilikoi filling when the cake was cut open. Wow. Third, the cake was moist and delicious! Most guests went for seconds at least, and after the party was over, the whole cake was gone (this is a party of 9 adults, this was a LOT of cake per person!) I haven't written an extensive review in a long time but I cannot recommend Sandi's cakes enough. If you ever need a cake on Kauai, there is no question, Sandi is your gal. The ONLY thing that I could improve on the experience would be the ability to pay and communicate online. Perhaps Venmo or even Zelle would have been great. Then a confirmation text or call on the day of or the day before would also have been very nice. Also, I think she needs a PR manager because obviously I think everybody needs to know about Sandi and her amazing cakes Thank you thank you Sandi!!

Very happy with her cake!!!

I can not say enough about Sandi's amazing cakes, amazing customer service & overall best ordering experience! I called from California to order a cake & have it delivered to the hotel my friend was staying at. She was celebrating a special birthday so this called for a special cake. Sandi made the PERFECT cake!!! She delivered it to the hotel & was kind enough to work with the staff to arrange the in person delivery. I will forever promote Sandi & her amazing cakes!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart Sandi!!

I was looking for a special cake for my sister's birthday and came across the reviews for Sandi. She was so friendly and recommended the Lilikoi butter cream flavored cake. She also delivered the cake. It was perfect. It was not too sweet and had amazing flavor. The flowers were so beautiful we saved one for the whole trip!

Simply amazing and delicious!

Sandi's cakes are amazing! I was fortunate enough to find her Yelp page and contact information before our elopement to Kauai. The pictures and reviews from others speak volumes about her work and VERY delicious cakes. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a great Wedding cake to use Sandi. She was great to work with and easy to talk to over the phone. We arranged all the details ahead of time and everything was good to go for our pick-up. Turned out her place was right across the street from our Air BnB so we could walk over! Her cake was excellent, delicious and so beautiful. It really made the day very special. 100% recommended!

March 25, 2019 Wedding Cake 2-tier vanilla chiffon cake with passion fruit filling and light, fluffy white buttercream frosting
Lindsey W.

Sandi is just the greatest! She made our wedding cake in March 2019 and then she made us a smaller version of our wedding cake for our 2 year wedding anniversary. I would highly recommend her. She is very responsive, helpful and friendly.

a blue angry bird cake

Sandi is truly amazing at her craft! We needed a birthday cake for a 2-year old in 3-days time, and she was responsive and excited to take on the project. I was just expecting a small cake with some decorations for our daughter's "Bluey" themed birthday party - she actually made Bluey! Not only was it the centerpiece of the party, but everyone was stunned by how good it tasted! She used fresh strawberries inside and the frosting was a hit! I will continue to seek Sandi's talents for all of our future birthdays and events. Thank you Sandi!

A little spice, but not too much. The bread around the center was light and moist. Banana bread was great and delicious. My mother in law loves it toasted. Perfect to have with morning coffee. The star for us was the focaccia bread. We were not aware that the oven was currently down. Left our number with the staff. The following night we were contacted to see if we still wanted to order some. The communication was better than any other establishment I have dealt with. Asked us what kind and how many. Gave us updates and a picture of them being baked. We had caramelized onion and olive focaccia. Ordered two for dinner and the family wanted more. The two focaccia were so light and delicious. With the right amount of Kalamata and Caramelized onion in each. If you're looking for a great bakery in the area. Don't look any further. Stop here. Mahalo

In town for the day simply to show me an investment property my family and I might be interested in the very near future, before she departed she had to pick up an order of pies to bring back to her family. Of course, I came along for the ride because I liked pie, but I was curious how good they were if she was willing to fly several of them in her carry-on. Founded by Sandy in October 2009, she quickly adjusted her business model from doing six community events a week to her first retail location in Lihue in 2011. The business continued to grow that led to a second location this time in Kalaheo in 2014. Fast-forward to today, the Kalaheo store is the only one standing, and she has cultivated a strong following both near and far of pie fans and the continued support of the local community. Did I choose the right slice for my first time here!? PURCHASE(S) Mango Lilikoi Pie Slice ($8.50): Their most popular pie, they had me at mango! Filled with plump juicy mangoes combined with the just right amount of lilikoi (passionfruit) and topped with a sugar crust. Juicy sweetness burst in every bite, and I was in pure heaven! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=120&select=-IUMWv6HB5wpv9AiQ-Y_bg Macadamia Nut Pie Slice ($8.50): This time, they had me at macadamia! Made with a ton of island macadamia nuts, roasted to a perfect golden brown combined with butter, eggs, sugar, and fresh spices for a nutty tropical sensation, this pie reminded me of a pecan pie but so much better! It was heavy, thick, and required a cold glass of milk to perfectly pair it with. I went nuts for this pie! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=120&select=JfthjT1sMLgeXqbfMPGzhA To-Go Containers ($0.50 x2): For my dessert, I've never been charged this before, but I understood businesses needed to cut/pass along costs as much as possible - c'est la vie. Credit Card Surcharge 3.00% ($0.57): Another pass-along fee that has become more prevalent - oh well. SERVICE I was warmly greeted by a young woman behind the counter who gave me time to review the menu while she offered recommendations. Once I ordered, my items were quickly packed and ready to go - mahalo! PARKING (FREE): We were lucky to grab one of the five small spots in front of their shop (it was very difficult to back out due to the heavily-trafficked thoroughfare). Otherwise, I wasn't sure where else you could park nearby - be prepared. Plenty of natural lighting came through the large front doors and windows while soul-sucking fluorescent electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. OVERALL The Right Slice offered magical pies both savory and sweet (I must return to try a savory one!) all made from scratch and with a ton of love. The care and pride was tasted in each incredible bite, and I wished I had one to bring back with me after I ate each slice back at the resort. Everything tasted phenomenal, the prices may've been a tad high (but well worth it!), and the service was calming and straightforward. Plus, I always loved to try and support small local mom & pop businesses. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $19.00 BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

If you let it be known that you will be splitting a food item, they will charge you an additional $2.50. Typically, when places do this, it comes with a larger portion for each split of the dish, but this was not the case for us. They took the normal portion, charged as the additional fee, and have us no extra food. 2/5 and would not come back.

I saw everything from biko (sticky rice dessert), musubis, empanadas, suman (sticky rice wrapped in banana leaf) for baked and packaged goods. Then they had pancit, dinuguan, fried fish and pork adobo. There were several other offerings that I cannot recall. Pan de sal was 3 for $1 or a dozen for $4. Gotta get the dozen. I ordered a hot matcha latte with oat milk, and the matcha already comes pre-sweetened per the barista. It tastes very similar to Starbucks matcha, not horrible but not great either. A little too sweet for my liking and not enough of the matcha flavor comes through. The color also wasn't the correct shade of green for good quality matcha, but I'm someone who likes to make my matcha at home and rarely find ones at coffee shops that I actually like, so take my review with that in mind, if you're a casual matcha drinking then you would like their version. It doesn't dry your tongue out or have a bitter taste. The following day I decided to try their coffee and ordered a hot vanilla oat milk latte. It was just okay, the espresso is a little more on the acidic side and I couldn't taste any vanilla flavor. Definitely not the worst latte I've had in Hawaii, but for the cost of lattes nowadays, I wouldn't come back to try more of their menu until I try other local coffee shops first. Pros: Plenty of parking right out front, good amount of seating inside, clean bathrooms, wifi, they sell their coffee beans and merchandise including shirts and hats which are super cute, there is also a small shop inside the same building that sells clothing/candles/bags/etc and the store employee is super nice
