My daughter and I stopped in for a quick bite before heading to The Boca Raton Museum of Art to visit Machu Picchu and the Golden Empires of Peru. My daughter ALWAYS orders at least one Pork Belly Taco and this time also a steak taco. I had a pork taco and a chicken taco. We enjoyed them on soft flour tortillas. They were delicious and filled to overflowing with delightful toppings. Washed them down with fresh made iced tea. We will be back. We're pretty usual customer's at the Harbourside location. This place has a great view of Meisner Plaza and has lots of places to visit for shopping! read more

The wet burrito I had blows Rocco's and El Camino out of the park....the food really does live up to the hype that came from their Jupiter location! 4 stars not 5 only bc of their service, which tbh I like to acknowledge isn't always the restaurant's fault. Majority of Mizner's service is nowhere is used to be pre-covid...but if they want to compete w Rocco's and El Camino, they need to be pickier about their staff read more

This place is great! The staff is friendly and the food service is fast. I have probably tried every margarita on the menu and each time I was more and more impressed. The drinks are dangerously good. The food is out of this world. However I did have to take away 1 start because of their tacos. I've tried them all and I'm sad to report that they were just alright. Nothing special. I had high hopes for their tacos. Even with just average tacos I have been many times and will continue to be a loyal customer. Some of my favorites are the fresh guac, house margarita, chicken burrito and for an appetizer, you MUST get the queso! It's out of this world good! My family and I go to this restaurant quite often, the atmosphere is great! It's right in mizner park so there is plenty to do before or after filling your belly's with this awesome food! They have indoor and outdoor seating which I really like. We always order the guacamole appetizer and they come to your table and make it in front of you. When I'm trying to be health conscious I order the chicken fajitas which are always on point but when I feel like splurging I order the brisket quesadilla which is like nothing I've ever had before, it is out of this world! read more

First the unique designs were so cool, all the skulls and decor for the Mexican culture. We went for Margarita Monday which was a great deal and who doesn't like $6 Margs! Got the table side guacamole to share. They made the guacamole in front of you and ask for spice preference. For entree I got the customized taco bowl which was very good and friend got tacos. We sat outside in the little patio covering on the inside right side. The service was very helpful and always checked up on us. This restaurant is always busy so make sure you have a reservation or go on a off time. They do have a lot of seating inside, outside, and bar though. read more

I was really craving for Mexican Food and wanting to try a new place so I suggested Calavaras so the four of us drove from Delray Beach and gave it a shot. One out of four enjoyed their meal, different opinions, my opinion for myself. The burrito was 3/4 beans and rice hardly any meat rather dry. My wife did not enjoy her flautas's very dry inside as-well she felt that it was over fried.Everyone enjoyed their drinks and our service was excellent. Unfortunately I picked up the bill and it wasn't cheap. I'm only giving this place two stars because I've had a lot better in Florida. Nothing like California but I think I'll stick with El Camino. At least I give them 4 stars. read more

HORRIBLE service. Was told 45 min for a table, waited at the bar for an hour and a half. No joke. Then for us to go up to the hostess to tell us "we texted you". I should not have not prove myself to a hostess. We did not receive any text. Finally sit down to watch the table who got seated after us their drinks before us. Some sick joke they are playing? Joe the manager finally came out and did nothing. The point is I was so disgusted I did not even eat dinner here and will stick to el Camino and Rocco's tacos. Don't waste your time. read more

Stoped to check out this place for a future meal. Went to bar had two drinks, then got the check. Paid in cash along with the tip. Then I said wow that was pretty steep for me and my wife. Then I looked at the bill and see the tip was already included. I hate sneaky and I'll never go back. read more

I started the experience with their smoked old fashioned which is made with tequila. The server brought it out smoking in a glass skull then poured it into a glass with a clear cube of ice which is exactly how I like my old fashioned's. I ordered the grouper diablo for my entree and added lobster to it. I was not disappointed. Just the right amount of heat to this dish. Nice restaurant and great location. read more

Nachos were delicious, shrimp tacos were amazing! They put pumpkin seeds in the shrimp taco and it just added a nice crunch which I liked. I'm not much of a drinker so don't rely on my review for the drink. But I had a strawberry margarita with sugar rim instead of salt and I loved it! It wasn't too strong which I appreciated because I'm usually a 1 drink and I'm done type of drinker, so I was able to enjoy the rest of the evening. The atmosphere is nice but do not expect to have an intimate conversation because that will not happen, lol. All in all, I enjoyed my experience. Price is a little on the high side but you get what you pay for. read more

We went for lunch and sat outside. It was beautiful. They said they were famous for their table side guac so we tried it. It was fine normal guac but rather expensive imo. Tacos were great especially the fish taco. No Coke products -only Pepsi. Nice quick lunch. read more

Pretty good Mexican food with a large tequila selection. The restaurant itself is huge and wait never takes as long as they say. It is extremely loud so keep that in mind with your crowd. The guacamole is great and the quesadilla is also. Portion size is large. read more

Food is underwhelming for the price and the service is poor. The waitress tried upselling me on everything I ordered. Leaving me feeling worse than when I walked in. Here's what happened: I ordered a coke and she proceeded to tell me about their cocktails. I said I don't drink alcohol to which she made sure to tell me all about their alcohol free cocktails that cost 10-15 bucks. I said no thanks. I ordered chips and salsa (which arent free) and she tried upselling me the quac. I said no thanks. She also tried upselling me bottled water and tried upselling me mexican coke that comes in a glass bottle. Again, no thanks. I ordered chicken fajitas, which were OK and food presentation was good. I think she tried upselling me again with something more expensive. Again, no thanks. I then ordered the churros. At this point it was around 10:15pm and they close at 11. She served me the churros in a cardboard box as if to say "get your crap and get out". Churros were not bad. She made sure to tell me that 18% tip is already calculated on the bill, which despite everything I was OK with. After I left my card on the bill she came over with a iPad thingy which she shoved in my face after she swiped the card. It showed a screen with a choice of 5, 10, or 15% tip on top of the tip I left already. So I either have a choice of clicking "no tip" or leaving something extra that she doesn't deserve. Either way, I left the place feeling worse than when I walked in. Never going back there again. So all in all including tip it was 52 and change for a single person. I got chips and salsa, a coke, chicken fajitas, and churros. I would be OK with paying this much if the server was friendly and genuine, which she wasn't. I talked to someone else that worked there and she seemed nice, though she had nothing to do with my table. The location is nice and the restaurant is nice inside. Maybe go there for a drink or two and leave. Otherwise AVOID. read more

This place is amazing, great food and a very unique atmosphere. Have fun figuring out what stars or what movie the wall artwork is from. I've been here a couple times and both times the service is top notch . I was lucky enough to have Murial both times and let me tell you , this young lady is a gem. We took a friend here for her birthday and oh my gosh I love this place! The decor is so fun and makes it really feel like an experience. And.... the food was good and the drinks are delicious too! We shared a salsa sampler and some guacamole which were all delicious and we each got the lunch taco special which came with two tacos and soup or salad. The tacos were good but kinda standard however that chicken posole soup was amazing! For drinks we had some white sangria and Paloma's. The Paloma's were so good - they came with a straw that was rolled in tamarind. You had to chew the tamarind off the bottom of the straw to be able to use it. It was really a unique thing and it was super yummy too! and my friend really loved her white sangria. I will definitely be going back to try other options. Decided to try out their new location in boca. They don't take reservations but we were sat within 15min on Sunday night. The decor is incredible, dark sultry vibes great for a date night. Staff were prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. We started with the guac- which I found underwhelming and bland for the $15 but the chips were great and seasoned well. We then tried the elote and the empanadas which were amazing!! - highly recommend. For dinner we had a fish taco, steak taco and the lobster empanadas.... All were pretty good but wouldn't order again. All the drinks we had were delicious. The margaritas are probably some of the best and unique that I have had! Overall I will definitely return for drinks and appetizers and would probably try different main courses one more time. read more

Tonight was our first time at Calavera's Cantina and we absolutely loved it! The ambiance is beautiful. Light fixtures, decor and bathrooms are really amazing. Table side guac is... chef's kiss. It is in the old Ruby Tuesday place in Mizner Park. Great location and parking can be found easily in all of the garages (free) or on the street at Mizner for a fee. We went here for my birthday with my friends. Yet they don't do anything to celebrate birthdays! That was kind of strange. They don't take reservations but we were fine with that. We were here on a weekday and if you get there by 7 pm you should be fine. We ordered chips and spicy guacamole (though the guac tastes more like a spicy salad). And then we ordered drinks (before 7 pm is happy hour), ordered a chardonnay and a blood orange margarita (with salt). Then I ordered shrimp tacos (which I was able to do lettuce cups), roasted pork tacos (pico de gallo, lettuce and cheddar cheese) which is served with a side of rice and beans. Also, shrimp and calamari diablo (calamari and shrimp sautéed in red chili butter and spicy lobster crema, served with flour tortillas. We had ordered black coffee but it was awful - we had to send it back- it tasted burnt. The atmosphere is fun and festive- we had a nice table inside but right next to the open window. The place has nice decorative pictures, roses and more all around the restaurant. I will give them anther try but have to figure out when. read more

Maybe we just caught them on an off night, but unfortunately, the experience left us pretty disappointed. The drinks were good, but I expected a much more enjoyable happy hour experience.

The décor, infused with the lights and Mexican influences, created a festive yet intimate setting for our celebration. The food was tasty. Every dish, from appetizers to dessert, was bursting with flavor. The menu offered a great variety, with something for everyone, and each item was prepared with care and authenticity. Special mention goes to the fresh guacamole and the incredible ceviche dishes. What truly made the night exceptional, though, was the staff. Shane and Sara were absolute stars--attentive, warm, and always one step ahead of our needs. I visited during Taco Tuesday with some coworkers for happy hour. The three of us sat at the bar, enjoying a variety of appetizers throughout the night. The ceviche was fantastic and I'm glad I was able to eat it. Despite a food allergy in our group, which we had informed the bartender about, we had to send back two plates before the issue was resolved. Unfortunately, the service at the bar was subpar, making it unlikely for me to return. The ceviche was delicious, but I always recommend that establishments be more mindful of food allergies when serving dishes containing allergens. They also overlap the margarita deal with happy hour, which is fantastic, so we enjoyed tacos as well for a great price. So sad that place is gone. Lamb lollipops were cooked perfectly to my liking and very tender. They came on top of a fresh corn relish with cilantro but the lamb itself could've used a touch of salt. Peking duck pancakes were good and flavorful but nothing special. Chocolate hazelnut mousse was ok. The texture wasn't as creamy as I would've expected and there weren't a lot of layered flavors. What made this work were the macerated strawberries but they were served whole so you had to cut them with your spoon to have enough for each bite of the mousse which was cumbersome. Service was ok. Our waitress was slightly forgetful but she was so kind we didn't mind so much.

Some of the meat was a little dry, however with their guacamole and sauces that they offer I ended up finishing the whole thing! I also got a passionfruit margarita which was really good and I highly recommend that for sure. The place itself is really nice with the doors open and good atmosphere and their staff was super friendly and was always checking in on this. We ordered a brisket quesadilla and for our tacos: carnitas, chorizo, and crispy fish. For our second round (not pictured), my husband tried the spicy chicken. He was warned the spicy chicken is exceptionally spicy but he didn't think that warning was warranted so maybe don't be afraid to try it if you're not big on spice. We had tap water that they left a large bottle on the table for. Even though we didn't drink too much of it, they still replaced it with a fresh bottle after a while since it probably got warm. One staff member even came to wipe up the water that had sweat off our drinks. Overall, El Camino exceeded our expectations. All of the staff was kind and courteous and the food was off the chart. And those happy hour prices are hard to beat! We definitely will be back!

The shrimps are large and seasoned well. Their burritos are so large you can essentially cut it in half and have the leftover portion for lunch the next day. I appreciate other prices are quite fair, especially given the large portions. We will definitely make our way back here when in the neighborhood!

We were initially served two, but when we requested more, we were told that the all-you-can-eat menu only includes one serving of churros. Since this limitation was not indicated on the menu, it caught us off guard. Fortunately, our server was extremely kind and accommodated our request for additional churros, which we greatly appreciated. Even so, the churro restriction was unexpected and is something worth noting.

This was my first visit back to Amante (formerly Bob's Pizza) since they reopened across the…read morestreet. First off, the new location is a huge upgrade over the old building. That said, I found the interior a little too bright and sterile. Everything is very white and modern, but it seems to have lost the charm and warmth that made the old Bob's/Amante feel so inviting. The private dining room was hosting a group that was fairly loud, and the only thing separating them from the rest of the dining room was a curtain. That struck me as an odd design choice. The takeout setup is also a little strange. Customers picking up orders have to walk through the dining room between occupied tables. If you're seated along that path, expect a steady stream of people walking by. Parking is another consideration. Valet is $8, or you can try your luck finding street parking or park in the nearby garage and walk. One thing I noticed immediately was the incredible number of employees. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing, I'll let you decide. At the host stand there were two employees. We checked in, and both of them immediately went back to sorting separate stacks of menus for about a minute before acknowledging us. The odd part was those menus weren't even for dinner service, so I'm still not sure what was going on there. Once seated, you'll need to ask for bread. It even says so on the menu. Our server also kept coming back every couple of minutes asking if we were ready to order. We finally gave in more because of the repeated visits than because we were actually ready. The food came out quickly, and the service was almost too attentive. Multiple people kept stopping by throughout the meal asking if we needed anything. While I appreciate attentive service, this felt excessive and interrupted conversation. The salads were fine, but the entrees were disappointing. My chicken parm was a generous portion, but the chicken was obviously fried well before service and simply reheated. It was dry, tough, and lacked any hont of freshness. The sauce didn't help either. It tasted more like something poured out of a jar than a house-made marinara. Overall, the food was just... mid. It's not bad, but it's nothing like the Bob's/Amante me and my dining companions remember. Between the higher prices, the trimmed-down menu, the loss of many longtime favorites, and the food itself, I left wishing the experience had lived up to the memories.
