Calderon Quality Tires might just be my new go to tire shop... I came in to get some tires mounted on my ride. I ordered them online and needed a tire shop to mount and balance them. I decided to go with Calderon based on the high ratings and proximity to my place. I had the pleasure of interacting with Jose. I'm not sure if he was the owner or the manager, but I'm pretty sure it was the guy in charge. He's an old school honest good soul. Jose pointed out my damaged Tie Rods and Links which I suspect is the cause of my squeaky ride. He told me he could install them if I brought him the parts, also gave me some really reasonable rates. I just went in today seeing if they could help me figure out why one of my tires lost pressure while I was on vacation. I actually went to America's Tire first and they couldn't find anything wrong, but I knew something was off. The guy (sorry I didn't get his name) at Calderon was very polite, greeted me right away while he was helping another person. When he was free, he took the wheel off and found the tiniest puncture/leak within 1 a minute using their water tank and soap spray (to see where bubbles form). 5-10 minutes later and he had my tire patched up and I was back on the road. Their pricing is also very reasonable for a patch job. I paid cash, but they offered to take credit card as well. This place is very laid back, only 1 or 2 staff, so just keep that in mind. They don't even take appointments/reservations, you just go and they'll help you when they can. Great service though. read more

Car's low tire pressure light came on in the middle of my drive on the interstate (and I have such incredibly unlucky luck with nails in my tires so I assumed the worst). I was on my way to the SAP center so my time was pretty limited. I pulled in here on a hail mary as it was closest. The gentleman took a look at my tires (my car just turns the light on inside and does not tell you which tire it is that is low) and went around filling each tire with air. Not sure how but miraculously he said there was no flat, they all four just needed some air inside. Didn't charge me a single penny and it took literally less than 10 minutes. Check in wasn't accurate. Phone conversation was very different from the in-person quote, and the guy wouldn't budge! I knew what he told me on the phone didn't match what he told me in person. And in fact, his system had the wrong size tires for my make and model vehicle. I overlooked the fact that there was no one at the front desk because I heard there were only two people working. BUT -- for the fact that we didn't agree on the price and he tried to charge me labor for putting my old tires back on, I'm giving this a 2 instead of 3-star review. There's also a loud, angry dog that's there while they're working. It's intimidating! Last note: the Calderon on Story is a better experience. They answer questions and roll out your "new-used" tires for inspection before putting them on. This place basically didn't want to explain anything or speak to their customers. I'd pass. read more

I've been going here for years and I can say you can always count on the two men that are always here. This location gets busy, but they will get the job done for you right away. They have the best prices in town which include their services and used tires. I'm so happy to see this location remodel slowly overtime because it shows that they're making a good business. I always come here whether I'm getting tires, getting an alignment, or patching my tires when I have a needle/screw punctured in. I believe they also can replace your TPMS and price varies. This location deserves a lot of my respect and they make an honest living so please support your local Calderon! Tip. I went last Wednesday evening about an hour before closing, to have a tire leak replaced. I was greeted in a very friendly and reassuring manner, and my car was looked at right away. I sat in their lobby for 20 minutes, during which 2 people worked on the tire. 20 minutes later, work was done, and they charged me a very reasonable rate. I came here because it was a Sunday and I had a flat tire. I was staying in a place in San Jose and got a flat tire in San Francisco. I have a warranty on my tires through Discount Tire, but they weren't open. On the drive back to San Jose, I decided to look up local tire shops in SJ. I saw Calderon Quality Tires pop up and I decided to call and check to see if they had a tire for my car. Fortunately, they did and they were able to squeeze me in about 30 minutes before close. They were professional, friendly, and made sure I got the best used tire to replace my flat tire. It was affordable and cost me about $70. They replaced my tire while we waited in the car. The workers here are quick, responsive, and understanding. I am grateful for their swift and satisfying service on my car. They were very accommodating and I would definitely recommend them for all your tire needs (especially if the job needs to be done ASAP)! read more

I had already removed my tire so it was a quick 20 minute patch. $20 later I was on my way. Jose is a friendly guy to work with. He fixed my Tesla Model S tire quickly while America's tires ( Brokaw ) tried to rip me off by replacing the perfectly repairable tire even with hazard warranty that I had from them. America's tire put a quote of $550 in front of me for one tire as the cheapest option. They also mentioned my lug-nuts were bad and needed replacement - no such comments from Calderon were there - they swiftly looked at the tire, accessed as 100% repairable with plenty of threads remaining and fixed in 30 minutes or less. read more

I will tell you of my experience at Calderons and let it speak for itself: I asked for the worker to fix my flat. He put a new tire on. I paid for the tire and left. The next day I discovered the new tire was still flat. I returned to Calderons. Who I assume was the owner, checked the tire. He said the reason it's flat is because of a cracked tire. I he did not mention any refund for his shoddy work. This person admitted they did NOT check for leaks AFTER they replaced the tires. He said that's not his fault, and was not opting to refund me. I raised logical objections. He proceeded to recant what he said as he started to get louder and so did I, to let him know I am not going to lose out on my money to poor quality as a consumer. We went to the register and he told me he would refund me for the tire but not for his work. I told him we will see if that will happen, just refund me what he wants to now and then I will complain to the BAR after. Then he told me he's going to call the cops and he told me to get out of his shop. So I proceeded to take videos as is California law. I am allowed to do that of a shop I am buying at. As soon as I mentioned the bar he started to weaken his resolve. He finally consented to refund me every single penny that I had paid for them. I am never in my life. Going to go back here again or recommend it, Glad we live in California and America. The land of the free where we have regulations and rules in commerce that prevent irresponsibility, and snake oil salesmen. Of course he would have refunded me the money anyways, whether we went to the BAR or whether we did it right there. So he made the choice to just do it the easy way. read more

I got home at 5:45pm from work. I heard my tire leaking air out. I go into the house and come right back out and my tire is completely flat. Next I look up a tire place still open with my tire and the Calderon Quality Tires guys are the only ones that have a tire for me. I head over there last minute and there's a guy waiting for me and installs in less than 15 minutes. For being there at the last minute before they close and having them search there inventory they didn't charge me lot. The price is definitely worth it more than a big name shop. They were extremely professional, clean, efficient and friendly. They have new and used. I was able to get a new tire. I've worked at a tire shop back home so I'm familiar with tire repairs and prices. And I'm a college student on a budget. I Needed a plug for my tire. Which Usually goes for 10-15 bucks. The guy there started looking at the tire like it needed surgery. He said because I have a 17inch tire it would be 25 dollars! Tire size does not matter! It's a plug! It's all standard and universal for a nail. I was shocked. This is Extremely shady and not right. I understand that they can charge whatever they want. But imagine a person who doesn't know any better they'll charge them up the arse for something so small. After this I went to the autozone across the street and I bought a tire repair kit for 5 bucks. I asked the guy at autozone if he knew about Calderon tires and I explained my situation and even he said that he was trying to rob me. Be carful coming here. Go somewhere else. It was Sunday morning, I'm from out of town and I had flat tire, my Lexus SC430 doesn't come with a spare tire. Not only that but I had an event in SF that I needed to be there by noon. Luckily yelp helped me find this tire shop that opens at 9AM on a Sunday. I called them at 9AM to make sure they had the right tire size for my car since I had to get it tow there. I called them and they had my tire size so I got my car tow there in less than 20 mins, they checked my car and said that even tho they had the right size for my car they didn't have the special tires that my car normally used. Turns out my Lexus SC430 ran on some special tire that even if I had a flat I can still drive about 50 miles or so. At that point I told them it didn't matter, I just needed a tire that can get me to SF and back to SAC. So the owner told me that the regular tires works just fine, it just that it wasn't the special tires that my SC430 normally use. It didn't really matter to me because I had already order 4 brand new tire from Lexus and I just needed something to get me thru the weekend. So I got a new use tire for $60 and they also check the air pressure for all the tires and made sure everything was okay. The owner, and workers was super friendly, fast and I got to my event in SF in time! Not only that but they're also open on a Sunday, that's a bonus! read more

Didn't put my wheel lock back after tire repair. I only found out months later when another tire shop couldn't find the key. When I asked Calderon if they had my wheel key, they told me they have hundreds of wheel lock keys that were never returned and there is no way to find it in the pile. They offered to take my wheel locks off for $80 and replace with a regular nut. No thanks. Always check to make sure they return your wheel lock key after service. read more

Extremely disappointed with this Calderon tires at this location. My girlfriend went to there store today to put a 18 inch used tire on today and charged her $70 bucks when most places charge $50 bucks. I call this highway robbery. Wish they would have cut her some slack, but in the end they were able to help her fix the tire she needed. For that unreasonable price. Would I recommend my friends, family, and yelpers here probably not, but I will recommend the one in downtown Sunnyvale. They are cool over there. Overall 1 1/2 stars read more
