I have been a customer for more than a decade, i tip the workers every time. They do good patching. But today, one of the brand new tires i got from them deflated on the freeway. Pressure indicator turned on on the dash. Usually its a nail, happened to me many many times. But this time, Did not know i was running flat for a few miles. It was one of the rear tires so i guess it was not too noticeable. I changed to the spare. Went to them, owner who was always nice right away blamed me for running flat. He said ran over something sharp. But it didn't look like that when he showed me where it leaked. Clean looking on the inside but a small crack on the outside. I had to pay for a new tire to replace the week old tire its damaged now. But i will forever question the safety of the new tires i got. $20 (cash only) for diagnosing and replacing a decaying valve stem on my Civic rear tire isn't bad. However, the mechanic did not immerse the wheel and tire in water to make sure that there is no other visible leak; so not really a thorough job. He also used the wrong jack points on my Civic and did not have a torque limiter on his air gun. In conclusion, if you can bring just the tire for repair, then there will be no fear of potential damage to your car's frame or wheel or studs. read more

I used to live near japantown and found. This gen to fix my tire problems. I've since moved but still drive out of my way to come here. They are honest, provide high quality work, and are reasonably priced. For example I came by with a low pressure warning on my Tesla. It was more of an annoyance because I'd need to slightly fill up that one tire every few months. I had a flat tire. I called around 3 or 4 places. The price at this place was the lowest. To fixed the flat tire within 10 minutes. The guy at the desk was very nice. $20 to fix flat tire with a plug (not best) $25 to fix flat tire with a patch (lasts longer) All other places I called were asking for $35. The place is within a gas station and it's not very visually appealing. But if your goal is to fix a flat, you don't care about that. read more

Been coming here for several years and overall I'm giving this place a solid 2 stars. Pros: Prices are cheap around the area, doesn't get that busy. Cons: 1. If they know you, your car gets serviced first (not cool). 2. On one occasion, they placed the tire on my rim incorrectly (some tires have an outward facing sidewall due to direction of tread). 3. The owner doesn't give sound advice if you want to discuss or you have any kind of tire knowledge (I've worked in a tire/automotive field for several years). I requested the tires be placed on a certain way and he gave opposite/incorrect advice. Came across as condescending (way to build relationships). Received better service elsewhere! read more

Service & work here is Great! They are quick and you'll be in n out within 30 minutes whatever service you get. Had a tire rotation done and two holes from screws pugged and still made it on time for work. Two Stars knocked off because of price and customer service. They are a tad bit expensive. Cost me $80 for a simple tire rotation and flat tire repair. Not the worst, but caught me off guard. (My oil change for my car is $60 with Oil, Oil Filter, and Labor). The Owner/Boss does end up talking with customers he knows well a bit to long, thus ends up missing on which customers got there first. I had some new wheels with some AT tires and it was only $60 at the time with new stems for an additional $8 for all four tires. My car was vibrating once I hit 55mph and needed to get my tires checked as my axles were still good. Called two other places that priced a tire rebalancing at $77.97 and $80. Yup that's almost $20 to balance out ONE tire. Im no expert but balancing a tire should cost ya between $10-15 a tire. So when Sakis at this location told me $10 a tire, I drove there. Three men worked on my car. THREE. Including Sakis who took my initial call. Each of them took care of my tires. One rebalancing. Another checking the pressure. One making sure my keys were on again. It felt nice seeing how much attention they put into my car. They said they'd check the fronts ones first to make sure then the back ones and charge me for the ones that actually needed it. Riding through the insane streets and freeways of San Jose, I'm lucky enough to say I've only had 3 flat tires out of my 6 years living in this city. And from those 3 flats, all of them have been serviced here at Tire Merchants. The process of getting a flat repaired is very simple, you may drive up to one of the three slots adjacent to the their garage-like structure or park onto the left hand side. You'll be greeted almost immediately. Even if their servicing other cars at the moment, they'll make sure you're given attention. They provide their own jacks, so no need to bring out yours. Also, some of the men here have also helped me return my spare into its designated spot (as it is kind of hard for me to securely tighten the spare wheel). As for time, I can say even with three other cars in front of me, I was able to get my flat tire assessed, patched, and returned back to my wheel all in 7 minutes. It's insane how hard they work, and their speed and communication really shows it. A patch for my tire was about $25. Cash only! I also tipped because they absolutely deserve it!!! I do think these guys are the best for your tire replacement needs. They don't stock a large assortment of tires but you can work with them to order and have yours delivered here. Several times I have brought my cars to have tires swapped or also a leak repair. They don't have a lift but they do have car jacks to raise your car or SUV up and get the work done. They are quite efficient and knowledgeable but also provide good service. They do get busy and that's for a good reason. If you have a need to replace your tire they might have one in stock or you can bring one in and they can do the work for you.
