We ordered two of the Rio Burritos from this location and it's supposed to come with guacamole. Neither one had guacamole and the burrito was mostly rice, barely any corn, and the meat was all the way at one end. As you can imagine, they were both very dry. I'm assuming they had run out of guacamole. No one called us after we ordered to let us know they were out of one of the ingredients and they did not add anything extra to our order to make up for not having guacamole (pico or more salsa would've been appreciated). This is not the first time I have ordered from Cali and not been told that they were out of a topping. I ordered the Brazilian bowl from the one in New Tampa and was not told that they were out of the crispy jalapeños until I later called to ask where they were. They are my favorite pet of the dish. I really like the quality of the food at these restaurants. I've been to all of the sister restaurants, including Better Byrd, owned by the company, but the customer service and attention to detail is lacking and just upping the game on that could make them a place that I want to eat all the time. Instead, I feel like I never know what I'm going to get or if I'm going to get what I paid for. Update: We are over-joyed! We LOVE Ciccio's and Better Byrd in St. Pete when we can get over there. I made a comment on social media about a missing topping from our delivery order and Tim Delaney from Ciccio took action to correct the problem and make it right! He wanted to send us a gift card for the order that was wrong and then another one to make it up to us. I really appreciate this level of customer service and it's definitely a quality I look for in companies I support. I thanked him for taking action and making it right and let him know that it would be greatly appreciated since I just gave birth to my husband and I's first child and having quality prepared foods would be lovely. He went a step further and sent us a care package at the hospital along with the gift cards he already offered! WOW! We haven't been able to have family and friends at the hospital due to COVID-19 protocols and can't really leave the room except to go to the hallway so having support from our local community is such a joy! Today was my first time dining in at this location, however, I have ordered their catering for a party a few years ago. The outside is very inviting. They have a fully covered patio with plenty of seating. We had our dogs with us and they offered a doggy bowl of water. There is plenty of parking and it is in a cute shopping center with other small businesses. Inside they had a d.j. (It was a Saturday so perhaps they offer this every weekend??) As for the food-They have unique combo "Cali bowls" or "create your own bowls." With each bowl they offer brown or yellow rice, spaghetti squash, noodles, quinoa, and a few other things.They also have burgers, wraps, pizza, plenty of kid friendly dishes and gluten free options. I have had them several times before and know what I like. Today I had the Napa Bleu bowl with spaghetti squash and let me say, it was an 11 on a 1-10 scale. So delicious! I was full halfway through but it was so good I just kept stuffing my face until it was gone. Sunday (09/27/2020) was my 1st time having brunch here. I enjoyed my meal and would get it again - Avo/Egg sandwich, side of potatoes with a strawberry mimosa! Yum! The reason I did not give 5 stars is the fact that there was no creamer and no spoon to stir the coffee with. This place has good food but can't stop cross contamination for anything. We were regulars but not anymore. My wife has a severe corn allergy and we state this every time we order food. First time As you walk in it has a very clean and airy feel to the place. Friendly service and greeted promptly. The cashier was knowledgeable about the menu and helped me decide on the tuna poke with yellow rice, after ordering I sat at the bar. The wait was short food came promptly and appearance was great, the presentation was inviting and everything looked put together well and the bowl it came it was nice. The first bite was absolutely delicious, and every other after that was as well. The dish was nicely balanced, but I wish there was more tuna in the dish it seemed scarce. Went here on a Sunday around noon for brunch. 25 minute wait and was alerted via text message when my table was ready. There is loud music playing in the background (guy singing and playing a keyboard over 70s & 80s hits. Our server was great and attentive. We ordered a Maximosa (giant mimosa) and it was very good. I ordered a piggy in a blanket (chopped up wheat pancake, grilled ham,scramble eggs, potatoes and maple syrup served in a bowl. It was served at a good temperature and was good. This place also has a bar in case you just want to grab a couple of drinks. There is also sufficient parking for big crowds. Stopped in for lunch with my dad, wanting to introduce him to the impossible burger and sway him to eat less meat. The service was good despite the new menu being implemented and a few glitches at the ordering counter. The location is nice. The Impossible Burger was not cooked very well. Too dry. Cooking all of the "plant blood" out of the patty defeats the whole point of the Impossible Burger. At that point it might as well be an ordinary veggie burger. So when a couple coworkers and I were looking for a brunch spot last weekend, we had intended on going to Boca, which we had been to in Tampa. However when I parked, I saw Ciccio Cali in the same shopping center and thought, why not try something new today?? For a Saturday afternoon, it wasn't a long wait. The menu looked fresh and healthy. So we put our name down and waited. There was even a lovely acoustic guitar player outside on the patio. We had our pup with us so we opted for outdoor seating and were sat in about 10 minutes. I got the mexican bowl, my husband got the thai bowl and our friend got a margherita pizza. All the food was gone by the end of the meal...it was so good. Perfect portion sizes. Reasonable prices. There are 4 bases rice, Kale, spaghetti squash, and Asian noodles. The Asian noodles and the sticky rice are my favorite bases. This is a great lunch place. The food is light and healthy.
