If you stop by Cali for lunch time, you order at the counter and have a more casual experience. For dinner, you sit down and you have a server. There's inside and some outside seating available. I ordered the hot & crunchy bowl with seared tuna and white sticky rice. The bowl is DELICIOUS and full of crunch and incredible flavors. Their tuna is sustainably sourced and is so fresh!! I LOVE this restaurant. It was my first time visiting and I had a great experience. I definitely recommend visiting this location. The restaurant is in a great location. It's right near Trader Joe's and Whole Foods, so coming here right before my big shopping trip was so convenient. Parking was plentiful as well. The ambiance of the restaurant was very inviting. The decor and the spaciousness of the restaurant made this a pleasantly comfortable dining experience. The customer service was amazing. I was immediately greeted by the hostess and was seated quickly. My waitress then came to my table soon after. The waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu. My food was ready in no time. The kitchen staff are visible from the table, which is great. They (kitchen staff, waiters, hosts) all seemed to be having a good time. I enjoyed seeing them enjoy themselves. I could tell that this location had very good management just by seeing the staff being in such a great mood. The food tasted incredibly good. I ordered the dragon fruit Fresca made with agave instead of sugar, and I LOVED this! It was very refreshing and super light. No guilt in drinking this. I ordered the chopped salad with lime Caesar dressing as a side for $5. I expected a small salad, but it was quite large! Which I'm totally happy about! I was able to take the rest home and make something with it. I'll be ordering this again. I then ordered the California club! Yummy! The char grilled chicken was perfectly cooked and the bacon was nicely crisp. The ingredients in both the salad and the wrap all were fresh and the combination of flavors all blended very well together. I then was given 2 cookies to try for free, due to being a first timer. I received the s'mores cookie and the chocolate chip. The s'mores was AMAZING! One of the best cookies I've ever had. Perfectly gooey and filled with yummy goodness. And chocolate chip cookie: the big chocolate chunks made this gooey cookie extra yummy. So, amazing experience, amazing food, amazing staff, amazing management, and good vibes! Their parking situation was great and has never been an issue. They had two gender-neutral bathrooms that were both clean. Seating was comfortable and the temperature in the restaurant was not too warm and not too cold - just right! As for the food... 10/10! It's easy to tell they cook with quality ingredients and cooked the food just right. The tacos were delicious as were the drinks. There isn't much else that needs to be said. First experience rocked. Gio was my server and from start to finish was excellent. He suggested the Buff bowl and I'm a sucker for anything Buffalo chicken so I followed my instincts and was happy I did. This place was a very calming and peaceful. My daughter and I had a long week. It's been up and down to say the least. So we were heading to South Tampa and I was very hungry. I kept telling myself that I would stop by this place everytime we would pass by. Well today was the day! The atmosphere inside was very cozy and quaint. Plenty of shrubbery and the decor was simple and clean. I really like that. The outside patio was hidden behind shrubbery which gave a cool feel even on a hot day. I had a Cool Greek Cali Salad with Salmon. The salmon was very moist and flaky, just the way I like it. My daughter had three chicken tacos with yellow rice/black beans w pico definitely gallo. She said the corn tortillas were fresh Anna's the chicken was well seasoned. We both had the home fries with harissa kitchen and truffle aioli sauce...omg! Anytime I've been to this location it's been an easy in and out process for dining in. Don't know if its the time of day I show up or just that they aren't as hectic as some of their other locations, but I'll take it. Sit down service is very friendly and all of my servers have always made a good suggestions. On my recent visit I had the Mexican Bowl with a spaghetti squash base. I wasn't sure as I ordered how it would be but it turned out to not only be healthy but delicious, also. The squash was topped with black beans, chicken, cotija cheese, and some other varied vegetables. I feel like I have to write this review for the employees that were working this past Saturday July 17. My boyfriend and I came in for lunch around 1 and there was visibly a wait for tables. The girl at the hostess stand apologized and said it would be a wait due to being short staffed. We opted to place our order and take it to go. As we headed to the register the same girl offered two seats at their small bar area for us if we did want to stay. We chose to sit there and watch the Cali kitchen, which I never mind! I love seeing the inner workings of restaurants and bars. The same girl at the hostess stand proceeded to take our drink orders, make our drinks, take our food order, handle to go orders, and various other tasks. I ordered a strawberry mimosa and my boyfriend ordered the sangria (yes, I know lol!) I also ordered the peach mimosa at the recommendation of one of the other servers and was glad I did because YUM to that! I ordered the Fajita Bowl with the suggested steak and avocado rice. My boyfriend ordered the Mexican Bowl. Everything came out to us quicker than we had anticipated and was perfect. The live musician playing was also very good and played my Jack Johnson request. Overall a great first experience at Cali for me and the workers did an amazing job getting through that shift with continued smiles. Long time fan of the Ciccio brand, Cali being my top brunch favorite. Partner in crime and I were super excited for the new Cali to open in Tampa. Although we love the Brandon and New Tampa locations they are quite far from us. New Cali is on S. Dale Mabry in a great location. We tried the brunch on Sunday and were surprised to see it wasn't like the other Cali's. The ordering process reminded me of Burger21, where you order at the counter, take a number to your seat and wait for your food. The menu options were limited and my favorite breakfast bowl wasn't offered. I simplified the Tex Mex to replicate it. Scrambled eggs, potato hash, steak, cheddar cheese topped with the Cesar lime dressing. This Cali offers potato hash, a medley of sweet potatoes, regular potatoes and onions chopped up tiny. I love sweet potatoes, so finding them in the hash was a pleasant surprise. The steak was definitely my favorite element. Tender, flavorful and grilled to perfection. The bowl was larger than life. My only criticism would be it was pretty salty. Staff was very friendly, accommodating and attentive. Restaurant is cute, cozy, and audibly pleasing with chill music like Washed Out. Typically, when I order a bowl from a restaurant it ends up being something that I could easily copy and possibly make even better at home. That was NOT the case at Cali. I ordered the Brazilian bowl and it was honestly one of the best things I've had in a while- the turmeric rice was amazing, the beans, hummus, and corn were remarkably well seasoned, the sauce was something I wouldn't even know how to begin replicating, and the crispy jalapeños were the perfect topper. It was straight up delicious. I also got a side of avocado hummus and carrots (which seemed extremely fresh) and a s'mores cookie (also straight up delicious). I have come here a few times now for different meals, and I feel I can make a good assessment by now. CALI aka ciccio Cali is a great addition the the ciccio restaurants. I came here for an early dinner for take out and dine in breakfast. For take out, I got the blue dream chai and the Thai bowl. The bowl was the right amount of spice and I like how they give you the opportunity to control the ingredients. For example, if your having a low carb day you can use spring mix as a base instead of rice. I sipped on the blue dream chai while waiting for my food but it was not warm enough. For a hot latte it was lukewarm. I thought this was a fluke because I waited too long maybe. It was still good nonetheless. The next time I came it was during brunch time on a Sunday. I will say we were slightly disappointed. My husband looked up the menu at their other location and saw something he liked. I suggested we come here because it was closer. I did not think the menu would differ. We were a little disappointed to see the difference in the breakfast menu vs the one in north tampa. Theirs is pretty minimal here. I ended up getting the Tex mex bowl. It was good but we were a little bummed because we had a taste for something we saw on a different menu. In addition, I tried another wellness latte. I got the stay gold. It was again lukewarm at best. It was still good but it wasn't warm enough. They offer them at both temperatures, so I am wondering if they haven't mastered the hot version yet. Finally, it does seem confusing if it's your first time there walking in. You are not sure if you need to sit down or order first. I would suggest having some sort of sign for direction. Overall this is mostly a 3.5 review for me. They definitely have some kinks to work out, and I think I will wait a little longer to come back. read more

Rarely is a place worth going to more than once, but this place I visited twice in one week because it's just that good. My favorite bowl is the Sweet & Smokey Bowl! It doesn't really matter the base or the protein, the honey chipotle BBQ sauce is what makes this dish awesome. First time around, I had this with the recommended cocunut avocado cilanto rice and the crispy chicken, the 2nd time my friend had this dish with the udon noodles and chargrilled steak. We also tried the Buenoes Aires Bowl, this has the chimichurri sauce, which was very flavorful, it seemed to have different herbs, garlic, and tumeric. The Hot & Crunchy Bowl has avocado and the crunchy texture of the tempura onions on top. The creamy sriracha aioli sauce I don't remember being spicy at all, which it just fine with me. The service is fast, there's no waiter/waitress service, you order first, then sit with a numbered table card holder and they will bring out your food in less than 5minutes. You get your own drinks and utensils. There are employees constantly walking around the dining area in case you need anything and to remove dishes. Reasonable prices, delicious and healthy food, so much variety on the menu, can't ask for much more than that. I'm looking forward to coming back. read more

I was so excited when I saw Ciccio Cali was opening up in South Tampa! I've been to the one in Brandon and enjoyed my experience. Unlike Brandon, this location has yet to do the sit down dinners (however they did ask us our thoughts on it). So when you walk in you place your order at the counter and then they bring your food to your table. They have a solid selection of Wine, Beer, and Cocktails. I'm REALLY hoping they start offering their Frose because it's so tasty. They offer happy hour everyday from 3-6 which includes a good selection of drinks and food. They also have a nice selection of sodas and juices if you don't feel like drinking. This visit we went with the Sweet & Smokey and Spicy Brazilian. For our bases we went with the Coconut Avocado Cilantro Rice and for our protein the Crispy Chicken (really can't go wrong with either of these). Both were absolutely delicious! The crispy jalapeno rings really add such great flavor to both of these bowls. I left stuffed and happy. Parking was plentiful and they recently opened their take-out only area. Everyone frequently checked on us and even brought utensils to us without us asking. Prices are pretty reasonable, especially during happy hour. I'll definitely be back! read more

If you live anywhere around South Tampa, you know that brunch is a big deal here. Everybody wants to brunch. Well, I have found you a new spot guys! A friend and I stopped in here this past Sunday around 10:30 for a quick catch up session, and everything was great! You walk in and immediately order at the register, then they give you a number, you find a table, and they bring you the food! So let's start with the restaurant itself. Super cute and airy, lots of big windows letting natural light in. A few tables outside, most of them inside. It's got a really cute back porch vibe that makes you feel comfy and at home while you enjoy your meal. They also had live music perform the morning we went! The service was amazing! Very welcoming and quick to answer any questions we had, or make suggestions of excellent menu options (shout out to Kevin, those flower child mimosas were the bomb!) They were also great about checking up through out your meal to see if you needed anything. So now, what most of us yelpers care most about, THE FOOD. It was delicious! They have a small variety of breakfast foods (as well as other options for lunch and dinner). We both got one of their breakfast bowls, consisting of a potato hash medley, scrambled eggs, chicken, bacon, and quac, which we couldn't even finish. (but trust me we wanted to!) They also have a variety of juices that you can turn into mimosas or cocktails. I recommend the Flower child mimosa! Super delicious and not as sweet as a regular mimosa.
