I eat here at least once a week. I wanted a more healthier meal and this hits the spot. My usual meal consists of the 3 piece chicken or 1/4 chicken. There are also sides you choose from but my favs are the veggie soup, garden salad and the broccoli pasta. They even give u a choice between white or wheat pita bread. This location is alot larger than the Melrose and Santa Monica location. Therefore, there are plenty of seating area. They have a small parking lot in the back if you turn right on the next block, (Flower st, I think), and right again into the alleyway. I love the california chicken salad, dressing on the side. Zero customer service or consideration of customers time, whatsoever!! I ordered curbside pickup and parked for 10 minutes, no sign of anybody. Mind you, I was the only car clearly in front of the camera. I called them, it rung 15 times before someone picked up and hung up. Ok, great. Called again and they answered and said someone will be right out. Another 5 minutes pass. Finally, some teenager comes out, smacking chicken in his mouth, barely apologizing for the long wait, asking for $34. Ok, here's $40. Then he thanks me, assuming he can keep the change. Told him to bring the change with my food. Another 5 minutes pass and I got out of the car and went inside myself, and the guy is serving other customers, with nobody in line and plenty of staff hanging around. I asked him if he was kidding and asked for my food and change. What a jackass. Note to management-hire people who at least seem to have common courtesy and common sense. This place is being run by people who don't care about the customer, regardless if they have time to spare or have kids to pick up from school like me. read more

I liked my Primavera wrap (chicken, avocado, sprouts, carrots, ranch dressing, lettuce, tomato, and mayo ) and for $7.75 I got two meals. [I like when one purchased meal can turn into multiple meals. More bang for your buck!] Everything was fresh and tasty. Now would I want to pay that much every time for a wrap? Probably not. And if I buy the ingredients ahead of time, I can make myself a wrap that will most likely cost less per wrap. My boyfriend had the Caesar wrap, and he wasn't as into his wrap as I was into mine. This location has the BEST customer service!!!! I drove up from the South Bay to pickup lunch and ordered online . I arrived earlier than my order ready time and they rushed it out for me! Kathy, the employee who was working drive up, was so professional , courteous and kind . It was a very hot day and she gave us a complimentary drink while we waited in our vehicle for our online order . She was an exceptional employee who went above and beyond to keep customers happy and coming back. California chicken cafe has the most amazing wraps and salads ! Felt like having a hearty salad for dinner so we found this place thanks to Yelp. Headed in and I ordered a Chinese Chicken Salad which I read about in so many reviews. When it came out, the salad was huge, with lettuce flowing over the sides. There were mandarin oranges, cubes of chicken, sliced green onions, etc. Needless to say, this was exactly what I was craving. The salad comes with a piece of pita bread (which I never have enough room for) and the serving size of this salad is enough for another meal! Plenty of tables and chairs to sit at. This is one of those few places you start ordering expecting to get a wrap for lunch and walk out $50 later with a magical buffet. Every time... But OMG was everything worth it!!! I got a vegan crunch wrap. The Chinese dressing is so incredible! The broccoli soup I was expecting to be so so. That actually blew me away! It was freaking delicious. The roasted potatoes are always incredible. The broccoli pasta was okay. I was expecting that to be a top contender but the dressing isn't very flavorful. I tried the squash I got for my baby and it was pretty incredible also. Super fresh and hot. I also tried the side Caesar salad. I will never not get this again!! The croutons are insanely good and the Caesar dressing is Amazing. I'm going to start getting sides of croutons from now on lol. On top of my buffet!! At least I'll have leftovers for a bit. Lastly do not leave this place without a super fresh doughy aloha cookie. It is worth your time even if you're stuffed! I think the best part of this entire experience was not even having to deal with getting my baby out of the car seat to go get it. Anyways, they have very good, tasty, healthy salads and very consistant. This is one of my favorite places to eat after a good workout. YOu'll find that if you go in the evening, lots of people will be in their workout clothes. Full size is $9. Half size is $8. The half size is still serves a good portion. I don't go for their Rotis. My go to is the combo wrap on whole wheat, no mayo. So good. It's pretty substantial, so I typically eat half at a time. Get the BBQ sauce with it. The broccoli soup is pretty good, too. The dark meat chicken at this particular location is very fatty and filled with ligaments. The sides are decent (I had the roasted potatoes and steamed squash). The interior has a fast food/cafeteria vibe that's not pleasant. It's also either much bigger than it needs to be or not doing well because it's always empty when I drive by. Overall, would not come back again. If you do come here, I'd suggest trying white meat chicken instead. read more

DONT ORDER ANY QUART SIZE ITEMS! They are a rip off!!! They used to have the appropriate container for that size but now they either use two pint sizes or a black plastic container. I actually had the regular container at home so when I checked to see if they were the right portion it was obvious that there was so much missing from it. And they usually pack the container so if i were to pack this i know I'd have close to half a portion of the quart size missing. The food is always good but their customer service has been going downhill pretty fast. And it doesnt look well when my order is messed up every time and the person to blame is the manager bc he's the one who I've seen take and checks my order. He seems young and inexperienced and they need to work on their customer service. read more

After having California Chicken Cafe, I always wished they'd open one around in Orange County, CA. I would visit it every week and have it at least once a week. Their fresh ingredients and fast service is why it's such a great place to eat, not to mention how healthy it is. You can never go wrong with their Chinese Chicken Salad and if you are more carnivorous, opt for the 8 piece dark meat (dark meat's tastier in my opinion). I used to remember when the dark meat special was $6 when I was at UCLA...so worth it! The Mrs. and I were in the area since we had to pick up a relative from LAX so we decided to hit up CCC for lunch and then pick up our relative. Parking lot is currently under construction but there are signs that says to park at the grocery store next block down. We ordered the Chinese Chicken Salad, a original chicken wrap, and 1/2 white meat chicken (since the dark meat would take up another 20 min...we had to be at the airport at a certain time so couldn't have it this time). We forgot how huge the Chinese Chicken Salad is. They also changed their bowls from the big round bowls to square looking ones now. It's actually a lot of food so you can either share it between two people or have left overs to take home. I'm still hoping they would open one in OC, since that's where we live now, but anytime I'm in LA and I'm around a CCC, I never hesitate to stop by. read more

I love this place for when I am being a lazy bum. We used to get it when I worked in TV production if we were working extra special hard (ie overtime!) I get the whole chicken with white meat, the Chix pasta salad, Chinese Chix Salad, Roast Pototoes. The BBQ sauce they make there is delish. CCC is a great, quick, spot for a nice, hearty, and healthy meal. I wouldn't have noticed the spot if they hadn't put up that bright yellow oning in front of their restaurant. I guess color schemes do work, lol! I must say their 1/4 chicken meal with roasted potatoes, broccoli soup, and pasta salad is almost as good as my own cooking! Everything is seasoned so well. But my thoughts on the pasta salad, it's a bit too tangy for my taste. The Chicken Cesar Salad is very huge and appetizing. I always end up ordering one and sharing it with someone. Every meal comes with pita bread triangles, lemon wedges, and your choice of various salsas. The menu is reasonably priced. The staff is pleasant and helpful. They always keep the area nice and clean for the next customer. Street parking is hard to find but theres always free parking in the Fox Swapmeet/ Smart & Final lot. read more

My husband and I first fell in love with California Chicken Cafe up in Hollywood. When we moved back down to the Southbay, we were happy to know that there was a location nearby. This location is worlds larger than the Hollywood one, though parking can still be a bit tricky. They have a small free lot located right next to them, although sometimes the gate is closed, so you'll have to find parking on the street. The food here is great and the chicken is the most moist chicken EVER!! We normally always get a whole chicken to share and ask for extra pita. Soooo disappointed in one of my ABSOLUTE favorite places to eat. We've been very happily eating here for quite a few years. I am a pretty picky eater and for years I ordered the same thing. Classic Combo Wrap no greens no tomato no Mayo no dressing no avocado HOT white meat and mashed potatoes. Get home stuff some BBQ chips inside FANTASTIC!! We'll they no longer will add mashed potatoes to the wrap. They will add roasted potatoes but not mashed Ok got over it ordered as a side and added my own. We'll tonight after a VERY long day I picked up my dinner and went to unwrap it and add some of those potatoes Literally SIX pieces of chicken hardly bigger than Hershey kisses!!!!
