So I decided to get a second opinion. The guy with in 2 min knew exactly what Lees HVAC guy, Raymond was trying to sell me. Dmitry, the second person to look at the work was able to fix the control board with 15 min. If the price seems too high always get a second opinion. All these positive reviews are by people who haven't posted much. Fake reviews perhaps ?!

I hired Lions and they did some work to try to mitigate, but said that it would be a problem down the line. Down the line arrived and I called Lions back when my AC was dripping excessive water. Turns out it was toast and needed replacement. I got a quote for replacement from them quickly. I shopped around and theirs was a little higher than others (5-10%ish) but I felt they had a very thorough quote that explained every step they would do, so I went with them. For the install, it was easy/quick to schedule. They told me it would take 3 days. Lions sent their subcontractors who did a really good job. It took the full 3 days to do the full install, and they were quiet, efficient, polite, and cleaned up after themselves. They did not damage my paint or walls at all. During the work, they determined there would be incremental work needed to make the system work more efficiently. They ran everything by me and asked permission before, and quoted me the incremental costs. In the end, I felt like it was the right thing to do. They spent time making new vents and ductwork for me for what seems like a very small incremental price for the amount of work. At the end, I asked them to walk me through all the work on video to explain the system which they obliged happily. One note is that my building HOA is very strict about going on the roof and doing installs to avoid damage to void the roof warranty. The roofers said they would charge me an egregious amount to supervise the HVAC guys to make sure it was done right. Instead, I got permission from my HOA not to bring the roofers as long as Lions did not damage or modify the roof. I explained this to them and they did a perfect job reusing the old mounts so no roof modifications were needed, saving me some liability. In the end, the new AC unit works very efficiently quietly and has new features to prevent the same problems my last one had. New AC will burn a hole in your pocket no matter what, but I'm glad I had it done well by Lions.

Professional Contractor here:…read more There are two types of contractors out there, service/handyman contractors and new construction contractors. I want to believe these guys are good at new installs, but they were horrible at diagnosing a problem. I have a problem with my fan coil unit leaking water and shutting off. Leaving me with zero air. I told him what I believe is wrong with the Fan coil unit and other items such as possibly low 410A freon. He quickly jump on that and said " you must have low Freon and that is your problem" without addressing anything else. He then begins to tell me it's $195 per pound for Freon and $2500 to replace all my line sets. I requested he show me the readings and without surprise everything was at normal operating levels and no leak. He then said he had to call a different company to come out and diagnose the problem and they would come back another time. The line set and Freon was not the problem and they were trying to make a quick $800 and overload my system. This would result in an overloaded system and freeze up my unit. Moral of the story, I would not trust the integrity of this company. If you don't know what you are doing just be honest and say " I don't know what's wrong, I can't help you."

Please look at my profile for proof…read more I had a really regrettable experience with Air Elite Heating and Cooling--would strong suggest not using this business for any kind of product install. I paid $11,000 for a job that really is substandard. 1. Danny came to do my quote and was very nice, but when actual installation came he was not onsite. A very young and inexperienced guy installed the units basically in the middle of the wall. I was not consulted asked before the guy tore huge fist size holes in my wall that are in no way standard placement for mini splits. The guy moved the unit, I had to pay for the walls to be repaired and repainted! 2. The condenser was placed on the ground in the driveway. Again--I was never consulted about where it was to be installed. It should have been installed on the side of the house--it limits the function of my driveway forever. I cannot get my recycling/trash out if I am parked in my own driveway. 3. The drains that were placed on the outer wall of my house were installed so poorly that they constantly fall off. They were not adhered at all. When I put them back up, they are fitted so shoddily that they cannot be secured. Every time I pick them up and try to reassemble them--I can see how jankily they were put together. One of them is now cracked and water is spewing all over my wall. For nearly $11K spent, I feel really taken advantage of and bad about the integrity of their work. I contacted them in advance of this review with all of these points--they never responded.

For the past couple of years my AC was not working well enough. I knew that it was something to deal with Freon. On a Saturday afternoon with outside temperatures around 95° I couldn't tolerate the heat anymore and decided to find an company to check my AC. I found the California AC and Heating Repair online and really close by my house. I called the number and was pleasantly surprised that they were open. I was even more pleased that they scheduled an appointment to come on the same day! And literally, within an hour, I heard a knock on my door and it was a repairman named Vadim. I explained what I thought might be the problem. He inspected the AC unit and confirmed that it was low on Freon. He thoroughly explained few other issues that may be contributing to the AC not performing properly, gave me options on prices for repairs and replacements for the future. Overall, I was really pleased about the service received today because Vadim was knowledgeable, professional and performed great service in a timely manner. I will definitely keep this company number handy for my future repair needs. read more

We live in the hottest part of Los Angeles, and depend on AC throughout the year to keep our place cool. Our old unit was serviced 3 times throughout 2017 because of the same problem, and the 3 companies I called could not identify the problem. The same part was also being replaced twice. In addition, I was frustrated having to wait for 5 days while the appointment could be scheduled, and one company postponed servicing my AC for 2 weeks because "they were busy". I was referred to AC and Heating Repairs by my neighbor, and they came out the next day. Turned out, it was a totally different issue than what the other 3 companies tried to fix. They replaced the bad part, just when I was ready to throw the bad AC out the door and buy a new one. This company is very honest, reasonable in pricing, and helped us get (partially) through this hot summer. Our ac unit has been going down hill the last couple of years. We knew it would need to be repaired or overhauled soon. We've waited for a time we'd have some extra cash, and certainly wanted to get it done before going into summer. It's especially easier with the cooler temps when we're not relying on it running. After searching the web extensively, we settled on California AC and Heating. Their customer service was top notch. Kevin was especially helpful, and answered every question we had. This is my first time reviewing an AC company. These guys did an amazing job on my AC system. I called them a few days ago during the 110 degree heat in Woodland Hills, and they came out the same day, and took care of the problem. The mechanic showed up on time, and they were very prompt with following up via phone call to let me know that he was on the way. The price was not the cheapest, but if you shop for the cheapest price, then you'll get that level of service. I didn't want to take any chances with this heat. He has all of the parts he needed with him. Super professional. He was also respectful and wore shoe covers in my Asian home without me asking!! And my AC is working good as new! Express quoted 600-800 but I really appreciated how genuine the owner was about the work scope, so we had them take a look. it ended up being 780 plus tax so 835, which is outside of the quote but not unreasonable. and obviously 50% cheaper than the first company. They offered to install a new part for my non-working gravity heater the next day at $3,700.00 and orally guaranteed it for 10 years with the promise of a fix for two years after the installation if anything went wrong. Shivering, I happily accepted the word of the technician. I am repenting in leisure. When the work was done, and the technician, Zack, told me that, if I wrote a good review on Yelp, they would pay me $25.00----in the form of a gift certificate to eBay, Amazon or an online company of my choice---I got a different idea about all those great reviews. The heater stopped working 6 months later. Fishing out the invoice, I saw there was no written proof of a guarantee. I took the tech at his word and hadn't checked. Again, I was cold! When, after many calls and an email, David dispatched a second tech from Express to assess the problem, he told me that water was dripping on the new part and that the water had ruined it. He charged me $80.00 for coming out, saying the failure was my fault. None of this was written down. The technician said he could get me another part for $3,700 or install a different heating system for $15,000. Either way, he said, the $80 would be applied. Now the nickel drops. The dawn breaks, and I hire an inspector to tell me whether there is a leaking pipe that I need to repair. The inspector told me there was nothing leaking on the new part, in fact there were no water pipes anywhere near the furnace, only gas pipes. He also said that the technician had installed a red bypass wire, a temporary fix at best. So this review. To alert others. 1. Ask for a written guarantee. 2. Use a credit card so you have recourse. 3. Read the invoice before you sign. 4. Ask to see a photo of the area. 5. Do the opposite of what I did. I'm still cold. P.S. to Cassandra, business mananger, who left a note after this review. This is not a mistake. My invoice number is 4623 and I saw Zack on November 4, 2024. I saw the second technician May 30, 2025.
