Couple weeks ago had a dinner on Saturday and a lunch on Monday. I'll combine those visits in this review. Saturday went with the fam and had a long overdue dinner. We ordered a couple of pizzas, some pasta and dumplings. My grandkids were there so they both got kid's meals. I'm not really a big pizza or italian pasta guy so can't really say it was AWESOME or average. I liked it and it tasted good but your mileage may vary. Everyone did like what they had so that's all that mattered. Unfortunately my grandson's meal (chicken tenders) was cold like out of the ref kind. My wife brought it to our servers attention and she was quick to take it back and bring us another one. To their credit they took that off of our bill and 2 of the management people came to apologize and check on us. I did have a good experience during my lunch experience. My friend and I got there at opening and were the only ones in there for awhile. Menus and water came right away. We both ordered the cheeseburger on the salad (forgot what it was called). I spied that when I was there for dinner but we did family style so I didn't order it. I'll admit I'm not a burger connoisseur so I couldn't say it's the best burger you are ever going to have but I liked it and it tasted good. We hardly eat inside anymore after Covid, but we do take out still (just not as frequently as before because things have gone downhill). We got take out tonight and the dining room inside seemed so dead. They had an issue with their machines not printing today and it semeed like that just caused them chaos. I was asked twice what my order was and the first time the woman who helped me just walked off and didn't return. A bag was sent from the back and the girl that replaced the first woman at the pick up desk was confused (so was I because where was my order yk?). When I told them my order the second time (the girl now at the counter asked me a second time) she opened a pizza box and said "is this it?" I found that a little ridiculous since I really could have said yes to anything and they would have been none the wiser. I also asked for another small bag of bread and the girl said "it's only 1 per entree". We had ordered 2 pizzas and were given 1 bag of bread, so per their policy we should have been given 2 bags of bread. Clearly they were not being observant and thorough. The side orders of ranch that you pay $1 per container of are frequently severely underfilled and are barely 1oz. It unfortunately seems like CPK is nickel and diming customers and providing poor service and skimping on the food itself. Lastly, CPK as a company pulled their chocolate soufflé off the menu and replaced with abysmal desserts-poor choice overall. Editing my review from 2 stars down to 1 star: both my husband and I have stomach issues after eating the food tonight. We did not eat from the same entrees, we had separate ones. This review is long overdue, I frequent this CPK often as I do work nearby. I typically always have great service especially with Carali as my server or bartender. On this occasion, a few weeks ago, APRIL 3rd to be exact, it was probably not the best service I have had here, as Brandon being my bartender. What saved it, was the support from Sky (who seems to be in training still) and Carali. I always enjoy the ambiance too especially during happy hour when there is barely people in the bar and it's a random weekday. Let's start off with the drinks, always great... i get the sparkling mango sangria. You can never go wrong with this and the drink was pretty good! My friend did ask for water. At this point, there was only two other parties at the bar. It was a very slow bar. We had ordered some spinach dip (because it's a must) and some dynamite shrimp. The dip was a bit colder than I had expected and hoped it would be, so I sent it back with Carali as she was still in the bar and was the one to drop it. This came back nice and warm to my liking from the manager. I was confused as to who my bartender was because aside from the drink, he didn't really check on us or anything. I got checked on more by Carali and the other guy in training. The energy was just not there, which kind of brought the mood down Luckily the food never disappoints and was on point at the end. It was sad the dip wasn't warm, but they made up for it. The dynamite shrimp was nice and crisp, which had a sauce that was just a touch spicy, but not. Oh yeah, after the spinach dip coming back, I finally got to ask for the water again as we were still waiting for it. I really do overall enjoy coming here and will be back still! I just want to make sure I got that right bartender. There's also another local lady who is amazing, but i forgot her name. Ambiance is nice and clean, bathroom cleanliness is everything and that deserves an A+. I do sometimes feel the floor is a bit sticky. I do love my spinach dip and garlic cream fettuccini! I do really hope to have Carali as my server/bartender! She is always attentive, quick, and easy to talk to! Very good with her server intuition! I also miss having Jayna or Jana as my server. This review is ONLY for our BEAUTIFUL waitress LEI. Every time we come to this location we usually don't get a 5star customer service experience. It's not bad, it's just not good LOL! BUT tonight we decided to come here because it was my baby's 5th birthday and she loves CPK. To our surprise our waitress was OUTSTANDING!!! LEI was first of all SUPER SWEET, attentive to all our needs (there was 10 of us), quick, always checked on us & her smile and her demeanor was very welcoming!! Made us feel like 'ohana from the very beginning!! Can't express how truly great tonight was just because of LEI!! It was definitely a GREAT way to end my baby's 5th birthday!! Mahalo LEI!! What happened to this place??? Food quality is bad. Service is mediocre. The ambiance is the same, except for the birds flying around the restaurant, the best part was the AC. When we arrived at 11:30 on a Friday morning it was pretty busy but there were quite a few empty tables and we were told the wait was 10 min., as a customer, I see empty tables, why is there a wait? Whatever the reason the hostess should have communicated a reason. Took awhile for our server to take our order, but she was nice and helpful. The food....what the heck?? Chicken Egg Rolls which I remember enjoying before were super greasy and the wrapper was weird, crispy but chewy, just not enjoyable. Ordered the BBQ Burnt Ends Pizza and it tasted nothing like burnt ends BBQ. It was like thin slices of Shabu Shabu Beef drizzled with BBQ sauce, crust was burnt, had 1 piece and I was done. The Kapolei branch of California Pizza Kitchen has significantly improved in all phases. From service to new menu items and seamless execution. Our server today was James, he did an excellent service. Attentive, knowledgeable, and accommodating from start to finish. We tried one of the "New " menu items the California Burger Bowl. It was like a deconstructed Cheese Burger without the bun. A nice bed of salad with like a Honey Mustard dressing topped with a huge beef patty with grilled onions, bacon, and melted cheese. Love Their avocado chicken egg rolls, the only reason I always come back to this place. Today I decided to try the new salmon piccata, flavor was perfect but the Salmon was so dry. Swallowing each piece was a struggle but I survived, sounds so dramatic but that's how dry it was. Our server was awesome so friendly and nice. On the other hand Speed of service needs improvement. Decided to have lunch at this establishment at 11:30am. Walked in and was seated right away in a booth. Within a few minutes our server Nancy came with menus. She gave us a few minutes to look over the menu and returned to take our order for drinks and appetizers. She came back after a few minutes with our drinks and ready to take our order. Came here for an early dinner around 5:45pm on a weekday, restaurant wasn't busy at all and got seated immediately. Food is always good. Reason for 2 stars is how slow service/the food came out. We waited an hour for our pastas while this other table of like 13 people got all their food before us and they sat down 10 mins after we already ordered. The group behind us about 4 people also got their food before us and they came in around the same time as the bigger group of like 13 people. Angel deserves a raise and a halo If you're headed to California Pizza Kitchen, pray you get Angel as your server--because she truly lives up to her name! Attentive? Check. Friendly? Check. She was all smiles, chatted with us like an old friend, and didn't rush off to the next table like our last visit where we felt like background extras in a fast-food commercial. We're all about trying new things and this one was weird in the best way possible. Happy Hour was a happy win! The shrimp, spinach artichoke dip, cauliflower, and potstickers, gotta ask them to be deep fried (Angel's suggestion--she knows what's up) were all devoured like we hadn't eaten in weeks. No regrets, just crumbs. Now... can we talk about the strawberry iced tea for a second? Pro tip: ask for the half & half on the side, dump one serving into your tea, and boom--your tastebuds will do a happy dance. I had FOUR of those teas. Four. Don't come unless you have the time and patience to wait for your food. It took 20 minutes for the waitress to get in touch with my table. After ordering, it 47 minutes for me to receive my foods. Not to mention, we didn't even get the complimentary bread and olive oil. I asked the waitress twice for the break and each time she just says okay and walks away. In the end i just felt like she didn't want to get the bread so I stopped asking. However, there was a great and amazing host! She was so kind and understanding despite the early notice she gave of a possible long wait time, she ended up seating us ahead of estimated time. The foods weren't anything special. Service was poor. They said the wait was 1 hour but there were more than 7 tables open , LOTS of staff (4 were at reception just laughing and talking) and NO ONE waiting out side the restaurant. Be aware of this kitchen. I usually order BBQ Chicken Salad for lunch and have dined at Kahala, Ala Moana and Mililani locations without any issues. Dined here and had my usual, but this time I started to get itchy and throat was swelling up. My daughter gave me a Zyrtec she had in my purse before it got worse and luckily my throat didn't swell up to the point I couldn't breathe. But it was a horrible scary feeling and this happened about 5 minutes after I finished my salad and started walking to the car. This is the first time this has ever happened to me in my life. Never had allergies or any reactions to food, pollen, etc. Went to see a doctor the next day and was told Sometimes if items are not washed properly with insecticide still on it, it can cause these allergic reactions. Also if it touches something that I COULD BE allergic to, that can trigger it as well. Kind of like if someone cooks in peanut oil but doesn't wash pan completely to cook next dish and the next customer is allergic to peanuts. Cross-contamination. The service is always good at this place despite being busy pretty much all the time. Bathrooms are clean and hostesses always friendly and patient which is why the three stars. read more

We love the food at CPK. We enjoy the tomato soup, bbq pizza, wild mushroom pizza, I LOVE the chicken piccata. Sometimes the food and service varies each visit, which is understandable if they are busy or slow. This visit was amazing that I had to leave a review. Our server James was so good, he was so attentive and everything was just on point. Seriously the best service we ever had. He was also serving 2 other large parties while having our table. To Be Honest, we chose to eat at Cheesecake Factory across the street, but we never got greeted for 5 minutes and had to wait for a seat even though we clearly saw a number of booths open. So we decided, screw this, let's go across the street to CPK which we also frequent. From the second we walked in the door, it was a totally different experience on the positive. Mimi, our server here was excellent, she closed the shades for us as sun was in our eyes, she gave great suggestions and was so attentive and checked on us often. Food came out fast and was delicious!!!!! We will definitely choose CPK first instead of Cheesecake Factory next time!!!! read more

We decided on CPK (California Pizza Kitchen) at Kamakana Alii for dinner. There was no wait and the hostess was nice and seated us right away. The Auntie who was our server (wish I remembered her name) was so nice and friendly. She made it a point to check on us frequently and exemplified great customer service. She was patient with our ordering and made sure that she had everything right considering we ordered quite a few things. We loved everything that we ordered: 1. Spaghetti Bolongnese (first time having it and we enjoyed it. It was so tasty and even better the next day) 2. Thai Crunch Salad (refreshing and loved the cilantro that was added in) 3. Pepperoni Mushroom Sausage Pizza on regular crust (yummy as usual) 4. California Veggie Pizza on Cauliflower Crust (this is my fav and I love all of the veggies on it. I added some parm cheese and red pepper flakes and it was even better. If you love veggie pizza, this is a must) 5. Red Berry Sangria (also my fav! Absolutely delicious and redreshing) The restaurant was not loud at all and had many available seats for dining. One word HUGE!! Although my husband ate the entire burger, he said he wouldn't order it again. Sauce was similar to the McDonalds sauce, otherwise it was okay. I ordered the cauliflower crusted mushroom, pepperoni, sausage pizza and I enjoyed every bite. Happy Hour/dinner at CPK! Long time no see, so I was excited. I was surprised to see them busy on a weekday around 5pm. There was an issue with their computer system/tablets, so it added to the delay in seating guests. My wife and I waited about 15 mins on top of our early check-in that we initiated at the time we left the house. We were seated at a 2-top table around the bar, which I don't prefer, but we took it. Our server was the bartender who appeared to be working solo w/1 bar back, so each "pause" was quite delayed as well. Drinks took 15 mins. They arrived after we received one of our appetizers (with no plates or utensils). Salad, pizza, and egg rolls trickled in one after the other... definitely not in sync. What we got: - Shishito Peppers - Spinach Artichoke Dip - Avocado Egg Rolls - Thai Crunch Salad - California Club Pizza Overall, the food was yummy, except the pizza. Our server was nice and cheerful, but our experience would've been a whole lot better if we had been seated in the dining room. Service was just too scattered and a bit hectic feeling - like, we weren't sure if we should flag someone down to ask for the rest of our food, and our second round of drinks didn't even make Happy Hour. With that said, CPK will always be a place that gets me back because I love their veggie pizza and salads. This evening we had a takeout order to pickup. I misunderstood how the menu worked and thought I was supposed to get a ceasar salad and pay for a tomato bisque soup as a side order with my sandwich. It was my fault but the cashier checked with the manager and he gave it to me for no charge. I told the cashier that it's okay, I didn't need the salad as it was my misunderstanding. She said no problem and they were already making it for me. I wish I had gotten their names so I could tell them again how much I appreciated them taking care of me when they didn't have to. I always have a bad experience here. I let it go the first couple of times because I don't like to leave bad reviews. There's always something in our food, as if they didn't wash the dishes good and the lady that took our order, forgot our order a few times. I get that it's busy, but it was a little much. I also added a photo of the new shrimp pasta (I peeled the shrimp). Which is not what I'm complaining about... the portion size is just really small and for a "pasta", there aren't much noodles. Would rate 0 if I can. Horrible service, if you call it that. Server, Jeriziah, couldn't focus long enough to remember an order. First, he brings out an extra appetizer saying it was on the house and then tried to charge us for it when the bill came. When the manager come over, he said we had to pay for it because we ate it, despite the fact that we told him to take it back before we ever even touched the plate. Next, I asked for another Angry Orchard and when I never received the item his dazed response was "oh I never put that in." (I had told him not to worry about it at that point cause I had already been done eating for a while before he came to offer boxes) Then comes the issue of the checkout. This was not during rush hour, it was happy hour. Only a quarter of the room was full, if that. Ambience felt disorganized. At least our server was. Then the bill comes and he brings over a loaded bill, which included the "comped" meal. And another tables dishes. Idk if this guy was new or what but the managers were just as useless. It took us sending the bill back 3x before we received a check with all items WE ordered -_- AND they were unable to split the check despite agreeing to it when we sat down due to them ringing it incorrectly in the system. When i paid, we realized we did not get any happy hour pricing. (1/2 off) when a male manager emerged from the back area of this CPK, he clarified that the appetizers we ordered were not a part of happy hour. (Fair enough) BUT HE AGREED THAT THE SANGRIA WAS AND MADE NO EFFORT TO RECTIFY THE OVERCHARGE. Everyone working tonight June 9,2026 should find another job. If they were sober, I'd be surprised. FR we just wanted appetizers and a few drinks and got stuck there for 2H & 30 MINS. Don't waste your time they will blame you & charge YOU for THEIR incompetency. Mr. Man that came out at the end highlights EXACTLY why the standard is so low at this establishment. Best of luck for the remainder of their time open. Wow what a pleasant surprise, a great lunch today at CPK. The order: Daddy - The West Coast Burger (wcb) with extra crispy smashed potatoe wedges. Yes I know...whaaaaa a burger from a pizza joint, haha YES. My wifey was craving cpk and me a burger. So win win! Haha. The burger was awesome, big, loaded with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and bacon. It was juicy, savory, and fresh all in the same bite. The smashed taters, my oh my was that delicious. Must be slightly breaded as the outside had extra crispy with that hot, soft and moist interior. Mommy/Son-son: The BBQ chicken pizza, ordered well as son-son needs cheese to be baked good in order to eat it. It didn't skip a beat delivering that sweet, savory, and lucious cheesy bite. We were the first to enter, so seated and being served first was awesome. The hostess and our waitress greeted us with smiles and were pleasant and attentive. TAKE OUT REVIEW I was gifted a couple CPK gift cards and used them at the KMA location. The online ordering process was super simple to use. The staff I interacted with at pick up was top notch. They greeted me right away, they were pleasant and everything was accurately bagged for me. I religiously check every pick up order I make anywhere and they nailed it. My order had all of the correct sauces, correct amount of utensils and no food items were missing. I used my gift cards on different days and each experience was the same. Solid work guys.
