CPK has always been a staple for an easy meal. Quality remains consistent, and it's a common uber eats meal for meal. Occasionally I will dine in, especially before a movie. Joined the waitlist online and by the time we arrived we were near the top. We went to check in and were told the hostess did not have access to any online waitlist and it would be 45 mins to an hour to be seated. Hostess was not the friendliest, and after asking about sitting at the bar stated "we would have to be a lot more patient if we sat there". We did end up eating at the bar and were quickly served and the bartender took great care of us to bring out drinks and food fairly fast. I've never had a bad meal at CPK- the drinks and food are always consistent. I love their Mac n cheese, Moscow mules, and of course the bread with oil. We have always enjoyed California Pizza Kitchen. This location has seen some wear and tear on their seating but nothing too bad. They have booths and tables and then menu is pretty extensive so you will find something you like.The restaurant is clean and service was good even though our server, Bailey, had to tend the bar and service several tables. She was excellent even though she was really busy with other things too. The food is always good. It's a chain so it's pretty much the same in all locations. If you are a Costco member be sure to grab gift cards there to get a 20% discount. read more

Fantastic family birthday at the CPK. We started at the bar with Joel and loved every minute of drinks and conversation. Then headed to our tables with Jose taking care of of us. Our large group of 20 were well taken care of and we loved our meals. CPK had some new low cal low carb meals that were fantastic. We tried the cedar plank salmon and several of us had the braised short rib pasta, and jambalaya pasta. We all enjoyed our meals and the desserts were also yummy!!! Well, this CPK location has come up in my estimation. Because of their 40th anniversary celebration and the promotions going along with it, we have been back twice in the past weeks, making it three total visits since mid-March. Dear Hubby and I went on 4/1 when we were heading back home from a doctor's appointment for an early dinner. I had a birthday free dessert coming, so that was part of the decision. We also received 10% off from the promotional gifts they are handing out. That made for a very reasonable and tasty meal. I tried the Chicken Milanese, which featured perfectly prepared chicken with an interesting combination of flavors including an Italian-style mixture not unlike salsa with chopped tomatoes, garlic, basil, and olive oil, plus arugula and Parmesan cheese shavings. I had to hand off most of the Parmesan to DH, since I don't tolerate cheese well, but I had just a bit to get the essence of the flavor. The dish was too big for me to finish, so I ended up getting two meals out of it. It's a treat that they have interesting mocktails for a reasonable price at CPK. High marks for the creativity and the pricing! DH had a such-a-deal experience of a pizza and beer for something like $9? It was really reasonable. That was part of the Happy Hour offerings. We sat in the area adjacent to the bar where you can see the pizza oven flames. More of an interesting ambiance than the general dining room. Our favorite server Joaquin stopped by to say hello, remembering us from our previous visit with our grandson. I also received friendly Happy Birthday comments from several team members and even other diners after they saw me receiving a chocolate cake portion with a candle to blow out for my birthday treat. We visited during lunchtime and ordered the new Steakhouse Salad with filet mignon and crispy smashed potatoes. Unfortunately, the filet was extremely tough and inedible. The salad was overdressed, and the potatoes were overly fried. We informed our server, Bella, and asked for a replacement since the steak could not be eaten. We reordered the salad with salmon instead. After waiting about 20-25 minutes, she brought out a small bowl with a few pieces of overcooked salmon -- not a freshly remade salad. After clarifying that we expected a full replacement, we waited another 20-25 minutes while the rest of our party finished their meals. When the new salad finally arrived, the potatoes were undercooked and the salmon was again dry and overcooked. What was most concerning was that the situation was never escalated to a manager. With multiple food issues and significant delays, a manager should have stepped in. Instead, Bella handled it on her own and presented the full bill with no adjustments or courtesy extended. This feels like a lack of proper management and training. When a guest has repeated issues with their meal, management involvement is standard. That oversight was missing. I'm sharing this so the Simi Valley community is aware. Based on this experience, I would not recommend dining here until food quality and management improve. read more

I ordered take out from this CPK. 3 to go salads. #1: When I ordered they told me 15 minutes, it took 45 minutes. #2: I ordered the full salads, the containers were less than half filled. #3: The salads just look thrown together, no love in these! Many ingredients missing or very short changed. I called and spoke to the manager Ghahda. She could care less. No sympathy no care. No solution. No sorry. I spent $60 for terrible service & salads. we love this CPK never a wait always get seated as soon as we walk in the door. the server was friendly and took our order with a smile. we love the warm bread and fluffy butter that's is brought to us while we wait for our food. the berries sangria was good I highly recommend. My BBQ salad is always so filling my favorite. the carne asada pizza is good too. I love to patronize anything in Simi Valley so I tried CPK, it's been awhile since. One quick observation was a seemingly consistent 3 stars, why not 5 or what's keeping this famous chain to slither on 3? So, I ordered two Pizza Margherita and the Chicken Salad. My baseline for pizza is naturally the pizza at Eataly which to me, mirrors that of Napolitana Pizza. However, their pizza crust is hard and rough and cheese was just enough to populate the crust. No wonder, the three stars, apologies for the straightforwardly judgement. However, their Chicken Salad was tops, the veggies were crispy and chicken was cooked perfectly. What stood up was the kindness and attention to detail by staff, my order was organized and wrapped (bagged) as soon as it was ready for pick up. The young lady apologized for making me wait although I certainly arrived earlier than promised. The restaurant was also full of people at lunch and seemed to be enjoying their food and chatting gleefully. It's California Pizza Chicken, so please make some adjustments on your dough and I'm sure (not really sure this branch can make such corporate changes when it comes to menu, though) your pizza will become better than the mainstream local competitors. Simi Valley town center location. Friendly greeting. Clean tables and floor. First tine at this location. I always order the same thing the full original barbecue chicken chopped and from the children's menu I get macaroni and cheese with an army. One thing I love about California Pizza kitchen is that no matter where I go it's menu is very consistent. That being said my lunch was delicious as always. Our servers name was Luke and he appeared like he was in training but overall he did a good job. We were a large group of eight people and three of them were children. Luke met all our needs with refills, additional napkins, take away containers and questions about my rewards account. I will definitely patronize location again. Sorry to say we had TERRIBLE service at this CPK. This is my first time at the Simi location. The waiter was pretty much nonexistent. Had to ask for water & wine twice, he brought 4 slices of bread for 7 people. After 15 min we flagged him down and asked for more bread. He never came back. Someone else, maybe the manager, came over and asked if we needed anything. Only then did we receive bread for the whole table. Five of us ordered the same thing and he still got one order wrong. Six meals came out while one person watched us eat for the next 20 min, when he finally received his meal. The waiter never checked on us at all. He dropped the check on the table...never even mentioned dessert. I so regret giving him a tip. We were trying to figure out what the problem was. There were very few people in the restaurant and there appeared to be enough servers. This guy was just never there. This was a special occasion for our family and the service really made it not so special. It's the worst Ive experienced at any CPK or any other restaurant. Waiter was not on top of it and we didn't get offered anything that you would normally get offered with your meal, I had to ask for everything and felt like I was being annoying when its just basic service 101. Came here with family that lives in the Simi area to celebrate a niece's birthday. First of all, it was dead in here. Maybe 2 tables were occupied. The staff was friendly enough, mostly young teenagers with some young adults as management staff. But the service was super slow. It was as if they played down to their competition, to make a sports reference to those who follow sports. Since it was so empty, it was like they were ok in being understaffed and unresponsive. The Alfredo fusilli was chunky and gross. I couldn't eat it. My kids couldn't eat it. The pizza was tasteless and reminded me of cardboard. Again, nobody could eat it. It's taken me a few months to write this since we were there, so I would not be shocked if this place is closed down already. If not, it's definitely heading in that direction. If you're a CPK fan, find a different one. This one is on its last leg. read more

I returned to this location after a very bad experience in August, my sister had given me a gift card for Christmas to CPK, WE hadn't been out of the house since before Christmas due to the rain, It was our New years dinner. We arrived in ample time to order from the Lunch duo menu, and also were told it was Happy hour wherever we sat. The waiter couldn't confirm the prices of our drinks that were on the Happy hour menu. He seemed annoyed that I said"you don't know your drink prices" He finally confirmed the drink prices so we ordered cocktails, he was nice said cheers. We ordered from the duo menu, that we would share the small pizza and salad meal. 20 minutes later no food came, we didn't see our waiter Danny anywhere in sight, but another waiter said he would check on our meal. 10 minutes later still no salad, no pizza.Very disappointed we just wanted to leave and pay for our drinks. A woman manager came out and noted your pizza is ready(it looked like it had been sitting there for a while) do you want it?? NO we just want to get out of here and pay for our drinks, THE worst part is she actually didn't comp us for our drinks, we waited 45 minutes for food we never got, THANKYOU CPK for ruining our dinner, the true fail is on the girl who claimed to be the manager, she should have etleast insisted on comping us our drinks. They told me they do not have delivery while the site clearly gives you the option of Delivery. So far 1 star, I talked to a girl who called the Manager, Jerry. I told her that's not how HH works anywhere. She shrugged and offered to see if the manager would "do something". She came back and said sorry it's the policy.
