Genuinely horrible service. We had 2 different servers and I think they were both high. Messed up my order by confusing it with a completely different dish that I can't even eat. Also asked for a side of avocado, twice, which we didn't receive but we were charged for it (we had it fixed after). When we were seated there was only one other group. For the never-ending hour we were there 10 of those minutes were spent eating and the other 50 we were waiting. I will never ever return to this location. We wanted to celebrate a birthday dinner this evening and figured we would try CPK for their kids eat free deal. Upon first arrival, we noticed that the restaurant was almost empty. Restaurant looked like it was setup to be for catering or order at the bar. We waited a few minutes for a hostess to greet us. When she arrived she told us it would be another 10 minute wait. We kindly waited and were sat next to another couple who told us that the restaurant staff was slow this evening. After another 10 minutes our server came around and took our drink and food order. Drinks came out quickly; however, our two bar drinks took 15 minutes to receive them. Food came out quickly after ordering it. Food was good and cooked well. Only thing I would say is kid's meals and salads are smaller portions compared to other local restaurants for the price. Drink service remained slow throughout dinner. It seemed like one server was covering the whole restaurant. After dinner the server brought us a dessert for our birthday celebration. So pros are good food. Cons are slow service and small portion. I walked in today with my two young daughters while my wife was parking the car. I was told we could not be seated until my wife and other daughter arrived. I watched as the host sat another party at their table while my wife was walking up. As soon as my wife arrived we were seated at a table and I was appalled at how disgusting the restaurant was. It's been a while since our family had eaten at CPK. Last night, our family and friends decided to help a great cause and support a Pizza with a Purpose fundraiser event for fallen police officer, Andrew Moye Jr. We could immediately tell that CPK had an awesome showing because the place was packed; practically every table was occupied, people waiting inside as well as outside the restaurant. With the amount of hungry people, the staff was working hard to make sure people were seated and a quick turnaround to bring food to the tables. Among all the chaos to keep all guests happy, the staff and management did the best they could. We were very happy to be part of this special event and great turnout of supporters. Our only suggestion would be that if there are special events, call ahead seating shouldn't be allowed. There were quite a few people that were turned away from the long wait time and eventually canceled their reservations and left. Our server Desiree did a fantastic job in taking our order. Her honesty on the timing of the food was appreciated and we've received everything we ordered correctly. She was calm and kept her composure with all the craziness that was going on to keep up with her tables. Management came by our table and she was very apologetic about the situation and didn't anticipate the number of guests support the event. We appreciated her time to speak with us. And she compensated us with dessert and discounted our meal, it was appreciated but unnecessary. Overall, the long wait time could have made this a very bad experience but the good food, restaurant staff, and spending time with friends and family made up for that. The taste is fairly consistent. I know it's called Pizza Kitchen but the pizza here is my least favorite item. I love their pasta. Their Garlic Cream Fettuccine with chicken and mushrooms is addicting. It's soooooo good! There Pesto Cream Penne is also delicious! Our food was amazing as usual but our server was absent, inattentive, and appeared bothered by our presence. I believe our servers name was kathy..( that's what it said on our check that she handed to us over the wall half way through our meal) We ordered our food and anything after that just seemed like a major inconvenience. We had to ask other servers for water refills, a box and to take our check. We wanted to try the new pumpkin pie for dessert but we couldn't find our server to ask about it. At this point we were so frustrated we wanted to get out of there. We went to get dessert elsewhere. Very weird experience if we come back I definatly hope we get a different server. read more

Went in last night specifically for the Socisl cosmopolitan& cauliflower pizza. Has the drink first. It was as amazingly good as always! The bartender was simply right on!!! This was at about 5:30p. Demi was our waitress for dinner. I think she's new, but what a sweet girl! She had spot-on suggestions (I tend to order the same thing over & over so I asked for any ideas). Went with a new pizza (new to me), and my husband ordered his typical. She was attentive, smiling the whole time, & didn't make to wait for refills, a box for leftovers- how's she know(?), or the check. More than anything, I appreciate not having to wait to give you my money! Like I said, I think she's new (only because I haven't seen her there before), but I hope she's a permanent server! Our waiter provided okay customer service. Could have been better. We noticed he did not offer our complementary bread. I'm a bit disappointed. They removed the Pesto pasta from the menu and unfortunately, that was one of my favorites. #pleaseadditbacktothemenu We ordered the California Club Pizza which was very delicious, but not as delicious as my pesto pasta. California Pizza Kitchen is a chain and you can find them in or near most malls. They are always clean and well lighted. We were going to a movie and we were forty-five minutes early. So we thought quick food? CPK was right across the street. The restaurant was doing a very robust business at 1.20 pm in the afternoon. There were but two or three booths that weren't being used. We got seated quickly and the waitress was there just as fast...great so far. Asked if they had any pizza slices already made, she says oh no we make each one fresh. Ok how long will it take.. 8 minutes. Sounds perfect. So we ordered a thin crust Margherita. While we waited we were treated to hot bread and seasoned olive oil. The pizza came in under 8 minutes and was quite delicious. The waitress was good enough to have our ticket ready so we could settle up quickly. Somewhere in the middle as far as chain restaurants go. Service was fine and this location not too busy when we came for an early dinner. I had a salad, huge and filling, far from healthy, but the best thing we ordered that night. The pizza was pretty small and pricey, no great flavors going on, very lackluster, you can get better for much cheaper pretty much anywhere else. The noodle dishes even less inspiring, overcooked, lukewarm and the sauce watery, not worth the money. This review is for take out. I ordered a meal pack for about 10 people and liked that I could do it quickly online. The food was pretty good and even if you get a sandwich and salad pack it will be better than most other places in that the salad was really good and the sammys have melted cheese and fancy pants bread. They packed all the utensils for serving and eating, and were super generous with the sauces. Cons: -$2 for a canned soda? I'm calling BS -They took forever to pack up my food. The girl doing it was super nice but so slow. I nearly lost my mind on her and I feel bad about it, but my clients need their food on time. This place definitely has its up and downs for me. The ups? Food is great! Sandwiches, pizza, soup, it's allll goood. The California Club pizza with bacon and huge slices of avocado is ALWAYS good... a little pricey for the size, but the quality makes up for it. The downs? Service is sometimes hit and miss and they don't carry the channel for Laker games! Place is obviously pretty convenient given that its right in front of the mall. After 25 minutes and two times the server coming over telling us a couple more minutes he finally brought my wife's pizza and said mine was still going to be a few minutes. I don't go to CPK often, but this particular one was above my expectations. I stopped by with my girlfriend because she was craving pasta and had not expected much. But her garlic cream fettuccine was really good. Despite how busy the place was, the pasta came out quick and perfectly done. Our server/bartender was also very friendly and fast. Price was decent, $15 for pasta with shrimps. Only one downside was the bread served before her entrée, which felt poorly baked (dry on the outside and slightly doughy flavor inside. Lunch with my husband today and we decided to go to California Pizza Kitchen. We have been there many times and it's always delicious and the wine is fantastic! Our waiter was "Alex" and he was spot on with everything. I ordered the veggie salad and my husband had a half club sandwich (I think) and a salad and both we delicious. We also had the salted caramel dessert that's always sooooo gooood!!!! One thing I want to point out that I just want to say... we do go here very often that I don't yelp on here every time we go but we have always have excellent service and all the people we have met ther have always been so helpful and had such a great attitude and the atmosphere is always great... it's one of those place you know you'll have a excellent experience every time! read more

I love this CPK location at Temecula, Promenade Mall. The menu is diverse, delicious, fresh tasting and has healthy options too. Much kudos to the chefs and cooks preparing the delicious CPK cuisine. This review is only based on the Shrimp Scampi. I first expected the portion to be a reasonable size for something that was worth about $15. But when I was served, it's was extremely small and disappointing. Not only was the portion very little, the taste was not even great AT ALL. No flavors whatsoever. I just kept eating the bread to trick myself into thinking I got full from it. I kept thinking how sad that I wasted $15 on a tasteless meal. But besides the Shrimp Scampi, staff was excellent and served us on time. I had no problem with waiting and they were always nice to bring us bread. Despite my poor choice on the menu, I tipped generously because I was served nicely. Before I return to this place, I'll make sure to check back on Yelp and see what looks appetizing first. Disappointed today. My fam n I eat here often; we came in the evening, half hr before closing and I guess many of the staff were already mentally "checked out". Joseph, our server, was polite as always. We ordered a few kids pizzas, etc, we asked for bread and Joseph replied that the kitchens closed and couldn't make bread (but you can make pizzas). Our food came, we asked for black pepper and parmesan cheese. One of my kids finished her pizza before I could remind Joseph about our condiments. My other child didn't get his milk, had to remind him. Joseph was never to be found. We received our bill before my wife n I finished eating. In the end, service shouldn't wane because the restaurant is closing. It doesn't matter if you're short staff, serving 10 tables, or have multiple roles, bring your A game start to finish. read more

First Time ever at a CPK and first ever Review. Can say this was my first and last time ever at a CPK. Hostess was really awesome gal and it started off promising. Then the waitress Dawn came to the table and instantly her attitude was off. She seemed bothered with my table. Just the general service we got compared to other tables she was assisting was a night and day difference. Then the food came out and after one singular bite of pizza found a long single strand of hair in my food. I spit it into a napkin and requested the manager. The manager was very understanding and removed it from my bill. Dawn however while speaking to the manager was asking where the hair was almost as if questioning me. I explained half of it was now on the floor after trying to pull it from my mouth, the other portion in a napkin with partially chewed food. I could understand questioning me if I had eaten half the pizza. BUT, I took one damn bite and spit it out. Normally the hair isn't a big deal, I understand accidents happen and if it can just be remade i'm fine. My real complaint is this if you even wanna call it "service" was horrendous my friends and I just wanted to leave. We paid for our other items and left, all in all being there for no more than 30 minutes. I have received better service at a McDonalds drive through at 2am, than the service we received earlier today. Corporate offices were contacted shortly after leaving. We looked around and saw some other awesome waitresses assisting other customers. Just unfortunate we didn't receive that. read more

Worst service we've ever had! I had worked in the restaurant industry for over a decade growing up so believe me, I understand being busy and slammed on a busy night and I totally have sympathy and patience, but there was no excuse for what happened tonight... We went here tonight to support the family of a fallen Riverside police officer. A percentage of the proceeds go to the family and it was a great cause hosted by Riverside County CPK's. Our family arrived after the "big dinner rush" and didn't wail long to get seated. Unfortunately it took over 45 minutes after we ordered to receive any food. My petite wedge salad arrived along with my husbands BBQ chicken about 50 minutes after ordering. Both cold. About 10 minutes later my youngest child's order, Mac & cheese showed up. About 8 mins later our other child's grilled chicken arrived. Needles to say the waitress really could care less. We sat at the table with empty drink glasses forever! We politely asked for bread prior to the drink order and received our first refill 25 minutes later before seeing any bread. We inquired about why it was taking so long and she replied " it's baking." It wasn't even warm when it arrived at the table over 25 minutes later. Our family never even got to enjoy this meal together let alone it be served warm. We had to flag down a manager and ask her to check on our meal because our waitress had gone MIA. She (the manager) disappeared for a while and when she finally re-appeared she said our food would be right out. That didn't happen. Our waitress completely stayed away from our table. It was becoming clear the other customers were having the same problem around us. The manager was seen at our waitresses other table apologizing to them. This waitress was not slammed or rushing around with clear business, she was just totally inconsiderate. Still with no food the manager came over to let us know everything we ordered is comped. Everything??? We haven't even had anything!!! We were STILL sitting there waiting for food which she still didn't acknowledge we were without. Man, the waitress never even apologized for the delay let alone her crappy service. The manager said we got really slammed tonight with this fundraiser. Umm... ok the restaurant wasn't even full and our waitress was waiting on maybe 4 tables. Just overall wish we'd had not gone. And who knows if any of the money that should of gone to the cause will even be counted given the fact that "everything was comped". Oh and the funniest thing was a lady appeared with our waitress, when we were sitting there all done eating and completely finished with plates stacked on the table, empty glasses and all... and she says, "I'm going to be taking over for Alexia because she's going home, can I get you anything?" We all looked at each other and just started laughing! Poor gal didn't even appear to know what the laughter was for. She was the ONLY person who'd offered to get us anything all night! What a waste! Waitress & manager took a dinner for a good cause and turned it into a really regretful experience. We will never be back! I was just at the Temecula restaurant last night, what a disappointment. I remember this place being pretty good, but obviously things have changed. We had to sit at the bar to eat even though there were several tables open, guessing a staffing issue. The biggest disappointment of the entire experience was that I ordered the Thai chicken pizza, which is what I always get and am always very pleased with. Last night, I kid you not, if you picked off each tiny, flat piece of chicken on the entire pizza, it would not fill 1/8 cup. Keep in mind this is an almost $19 pizza for one person or to share with other items, I get it just for me. It used to have lots juicy chunks of chicken on it. I would give 0 stars if I could. First and only time I will ever order this way overpriced crap food. I spent 93 dollars for 2 pizzas, egg rolls, spaghetti bolegnese and a piece of cake. The order took forever and all the food was cold. Every single bit of it. Me and my husband half expected Ashton Kutcher to pop out and tell us we had been punked when we saw the size of these tiny pizzas and everything else. So overpriced for such small amounts of food. The pizza is absolutely terrible. Paper thin cold slices of pizza with almost no sauce. The worst pizza I've ever had. Those 99 cent pizzas at the grocery store have more cheese and sauce. I'm very picky when it come to spinach artichoke dip, but CPK always delivers ! From the appetizers to the entrees, every item is gives its o satisfying gesture. The spicy buffalo cauliflower is so addicting. It's the main reason I keep coming back, aside of the infamous pizza of course.
