I have two kids and we almost had an attempted break in while we were sleeping in our home. We called California security screens in January 2026. The time they came by to take measurements was January 2026 and it was installed in April 2026 so it took a little while. I deposited 50% and I almost thought I was scammed because they didn't call until I reached out on the status. It's a little pricey.. so be warned. BUT!! The craftsmanship is fantastic, the sliding doors glides open and close very smoothly. The screens are easy to pop out from the inside in case of a fire. It's so easy my 9 year old can do it. The delivery and installation took about 4 hours. Now we sleep soundly at night. I highly recommend. read more

We had a great experience with Steve and California Security Doors. We opted for the TITAN model. Door came with standard deadbolt and knob. We upgraded our deadbolt and door knob ourselves, and Steve and his team worked with us on that to ensure we would not have any issues. The door and frame needed to be custom ordered, as our door was not standard size, but we spoke about both options....this seemed best for us and was completely our choice. The order was quicker than expected, and Steve and his installer were able to install it 3 weeks earlier than expected. I've attached photos as well. This is black color power coated (not paint). We wanted to still be able to see our front door, and as you can see....you definitely still can. Would buy again, and work with this company again if you want a specialty SECURE screen door. read more

I was looking to have a see through security screen installed for my new house. I consulted a couple big box places such as Home Depot and Lowe's but they did not want to work on it due to my siding being uneven. They would not provide a seal around nor fix the threshold to ensure a smooth transition. I continued to sit on this project until July 2024. Found these guys on Yelp, Pete came out after I set up an appointment for measurements. I ordered the screen door but it had a two month turn around. Moving forward to September 7th install day, Luke was very professional and worked diligently in hot temps outdoors. He said our original threshold was not removable to make a seamless transition so he did a work around which worked out just as well. Left side had a larger gap but he cocked it perfectly. All sides are sealed so I do not need to worry about little critters coming in. So happy it meets my aesthetic and safety standards for my family. Luke educated us about bi yearly maintenance of the hinges to keep it in tip top shape. Thank you California security screens for a beautiful install and great customer service. After seeing security screen doors on a few neighbor's houses, we decided to look into buying one. We called several companies during the pandemic. All of the companies sounded great on the phone, however, we decided to go with CSS because of their service and ability to fully answer our questions. We were looking at the security screen door for our front door of our house. Although CSS was a bit more expensive than the other companies, I feel their product is also superior due to: 1) Easier to use locking mechanism 2) Rubber seal around the whole door 3) Ability to change the lock to match our existing keys 4) Strength of the door and screen Steve came out to visit us and measured our door. He let us know that we may need an extended for the security screen door, which we did. He confirmed the pricing we got from his staff and the wait time for the door to be made. We put a deposit and waited the 6-8 weeks for the door to come in. Once the door arrived, Steve's guys (sorry, don't remember their names) came and installed the door within a few days of it arriving. The installation process was smooth and much more involved than I would have thought, but it is a security screen door! Overall, it's so nice to be able to keep the front door open and get a cool breeze through the house while knowing it would be hard for someone to break-in. In addition, we have an almost 5 year old boy, who regularly kicks the screen door, slams it shut, and the door looks brand new (just with some dust from the years it's been installed). If you're looking for a great company with great people and want to support a local business as well as a mom and pop shop, then please give Steve and his company a call! Great business and people to work with all around. They gave me exactly what I wanted. Their communication is what I'd want from a business that I'm working with. The finished result looked even better than I expected. That being said, I feel the need to knock off one star due to the price. I just can't wrap my head around what I ordered costing $3500+. Steel mesh, aluminum frame, labor... Though I love the product and agreed to pay for it... I don't see a justification for what I paid. The entire process from start (free estimate) to finish (installation) took exactly 8 weeks. Pete and Luke installed both my patio door and two fixed windows and within 3 hours, it was like magic. Very tidy and professional, and the screens are suuuuuper strong and durable and look amazingly sleek! I love it all!! I had also purchased a laundry door as my door faces out to my backyard. Upon arrival, however, the door's paint was chipped and scratched, and both Pete and Luke said, no worries at all, they'll get this replaced at no additional cost to me, and schedule another day of installation. In less than a week, my new laundry door arrived and Luke came by to install it which only took half hour. The entire experience was seamless and both Pete and Luke were very pleasant to work with! I called them several times but they did not get back to me right away; it took a week for them to get a sales rep. to talk to me about their security screen products; the sale rep. was OK but the screens seem very overpriced at $2,000 to $4,000. I think that $1,000 would be a fair price for a good decorative strong security screen door made of reinforced aluminum or strong steel. Maybe California labor costs and workers comp overhead is the reason for the very high prices. read more
