Such an honest and stand up place. I have used Levon for a few repair on my car and every time have been treated with the utmost respect and kindness when explaining what needed to be done to my car. Most recently I needed to have a head light bulb replace. Previously, I had gone to a competitor (a chain repair and store) to have my right head light bulb replaced. You would have thought that I broke a window with what they charged me. My left headlight went out about a month later and went to see Levon. The mechanics looked at the issue, made a quick evaluation, and without any attempt at up-sale, repaired my car for a more reasonable price than I could have imagined. It's difficult to find a good auto repair shop, especially when you hear horror stories. I usually go to the larger auto shops but I was in the Glendale/Burbank area and didn't want to drive to Pep Boys in Pasadena. I read the past reviews on Calstate so I gave it a try. Be careful before you come here! I tried Calstate because of all the positive reviews I found. I brought my car in to deal with a grinding noise I was hearing. They take it and tell me that they repaired the Crankshaft Pulley. However when I start driving it, it's making the same noise. The owner says that there is a differential issue that will need to get repaired as well. So I take it to another mechanic and I'm informed that the sound I'm hearing is a transmission issue. Another mechanic confirms it. Had the mechanics at Calstate told me that the transmission was bad, I wouldn't have wasted money on the Crankshaft (if there was even a problem there, I literally don't know because nothing changed when I got it back). So now I need to purchase a new car but I wasted $350 on a repair I didn't need. It really put me in a bad position financially. read more

Literally just came from Calstate after I popped a tire on my way in to work. Levon was incredibly nice and was able to take me right after I called. He patched the hole in my tire but then found some sidewall damage, and was able to save me a trip by finding a quality used tire around the shop as a replacement. This is the cleanest & most honest garage I've ever experienced. Levon has gone far beyond the call of duty to ensure that my car is in perfect working order. He has helped me find used parts wherever possible (it's a vintage Lexus and parts are $$$$!). He has always shown me the broken and worn out parts that have been replaced. I appreciate this because I am an auto enthusiast and not clueless when it comes to automotive engineering. Recently Levon & his team replaced my entire mainframe computer. I give 4 stars because most people know that the lower ratings are real people. My CEL came in on my Chevy Malibu 2005. I asked the guy if he could plug the computer in and give me the code. He did gladly, free of charge. Code said engine misfiring. So I asked how much and how long to run a diagnostic. He said leave it here and he'll run all the diagnostics for a standard reasonable price. So I did. He called me about 5 hours later. He found the problem and replaced the part for free!!!! (Bad spark plug) So I picked up my car and he no shit washed my car!! I think mechanics like this are saviors of the middle class. My car is running fine and no CEL so far. I'm so glad to have found an honest mechanic in burbank. I will recommend them to everyone I know. read more

They fixed my brakes , oil change, fix my lock on passenger side , fixed a couple of nail in tire and everything was quoted to me before the work was done. These guys fix everything. Okay. It looks like the secret is out about Levon, but I thought I'd pile on anyway. The first time I went to Calstate I was having a problem with one of my headlights, which wouldn't turn on even with a new bulb. I was thinking maybe there was some electrical problem, which sounded expensive. So I went to Levon's shop because it was close to my work. Not to sound like a hipster or anything, but this was when the shop had been open for less than a year, so it hadn't even become a Yelp darling at this point. I just got lucky, I guess. Anyway, Levon popped the hood, examined the assembly, went into the garage and came out with a soldering iron. He then proceeded to solder the connection as I watched, then inserted the bulb and it worked like a charm. I asked him how much I owed him, and he said nothing. NOTHING! I actually had to beg him to let me pay for the repair, which was bizarre. Naturally his free repair had purchased a customer for life. I now take my car to Calstate every time I have a problem. I tell friends to go there. I've considered breaking my car on purpose just so I can have it repaired there (okay, that last one wasn't true, but you get the idea). If you're getting a janky feeling from your mechanic, give Levon a chance. He will give you an honest appraisal and get you back on the road in no time at all. read more

I've been going to Levig for years now. I use to have a 2013 Chevy Equinox he would work on now I have a 2011 Audi Q5. He works on soo many different cars he is knowledgeable in the 3 different cars i bring him. Last time i had a big oil leak he was able to find it and solve the issues because my low oil light was on and i thought it was burning oil but it was a easy oil leak fix. Everything you have read about Calstate and Levon in these reviews is true. I have a 2015 Jaguar F type convertible. During the course of having an oil change (at another location) the tech noticed coolant sprayed throughout the under carriage of the car, and suggested it was a leak or problem with the water pump. I found CalState on Yelp and drove directly there. What I didn't expect is that Levon himself would take the time to walk out and look at my car, put it up on the racks, show me where the leak was coming from, AND tell me he could take care of it and have my car back to me the next day (which he did). His labor prices are slightly higher then some other Jaguar service shops in the area, but far less then what a Jag dealership would have charged, and I would much rather pay a bit more to have the work done by an honest professional like Levon who I trust. Calstate will be my repair shop of choice for any needs in the future. read more

Great, honest auto repair shop (and those are hard to find)!!! My Honda Civic was having problems overheating and I took it to Calstate Auto Repair and Levon was kind enough to check everything out for me. I was afraid I'd end up spending hundreds, but Levon was so helpful and honest and told me it was just a few loose connections that was causing the issue. Not only did he clean out the air filters and reconnect everything to fix the issue in a matter of hours, but he told me to drive it for a few days and didn't even charge me, as he wanted to be sure he had fixed the issue. These days it's impossible to find great customer service, and just as hard to find honest and reasonable auto repair shops, and in Calstate, I have found Both!! Thank you Levon!! Victorville Motors in Victorville tried to defraud me about not being able to acquire an actuator by itself; thereby, attempting to try to charge for an entire exhaust over $3200. Took my $100K Demon to Levon and he was honest in his findings; whereby, the actuator actually could be purchased separately. Saved about $3500. Dealerships are crooks.
