Hands down, BEST crab cake on the Shore. Better than the local "seafood" restaurants, better than the fancy-pants restaurants in the surrounding areas. They use fresh (never frozen), local jumbo lump crab and minimal filler. You can really taste the crabmeat, which, for me, is key to a good crab cake. The atmosphere is unassuming. the staff was very lousy the lady did not know what she was doing said she would allow certain things but added more to the bill , they also forgot half of our meal such as our pickles, coleslaw and soup. We stopped here for lunch while in town for a wedding. Can't complain about the menu - it's your basic diner with your basic menu. It is located off the main highway and close to a gas station. Easy to miss. I was on my way back from Ocean City and pick this location as it seemed to be a local spot. The food portions are huge and prices are reasonable. A salad bar option came with the main entrees. The service was prompt. Inside the decor was similar to an older diner with wooden tables and seats. Dessert also came with the entree. I ordered chicken friend steak with sausage gravy and it did not disappoint. Decided to visit Cambridge for supper on Labor Day. We chose to eat at the Cambridge Diner and had an excellent experience. My wife and I were promptly seated, Bella, the waitress, appeared quite quickly to take our drink order. The Diner has specials on the various days of the week which is a great idea. We chose the Lasagna that came with soup or salad, and dessert. Our food came to the table within ten minutes and it was oven HOT. I must say this was a great choice and enough of a dish to take home half the Lasagna. Bella came by our booth several times to check on our needs, all had been met with the excellent food. Rice pudding for dessert for me and chocolate ice cream for my wife. Great food an great service. We had 2 adults an 7 teenagers in our group. They were on their toes from the cook to the server. Taking care of refills to removing used plates off the table, an bringing us take out containers. U didn't give 5 stars for the bland tasting cheese on the salad bar. Food was ok. Ordered a shrimp basket and had to send it back. The shrimp looked like something out of a cardboard box. Very disappointed to see that and this diner is located on Maryland'a Eastern Shore where fresh seafood is plentiful. I ordered the Adams club after sending the shrimp back but it was just cold cuts and lettuce. No flavor, no bacon and no mayo. The salad bar leaves much to be desired as well. Great place if you like flies and slow service. Family of four. We ordered omelette, scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon, eggs - typical breakfast food. After 30 minutes, no food, called waitress over and she said there was a large group in front of us and it was coming. Only problem is other small tables that came in way after us had already gotten their food. 10 minutes later we get cold food brought out to us. Manager wanted to argue about how long we had been there and when the order for put in. Tried to tell the kid that if the order for put in late, then that proves my point -- bad waitressing. Anyway, we'll never go there again. I refused to eat my cold food so I can't tell you how it tasted. But I think the flies enjoyed it - there were 3 that were a constant fixture at our booth. Even before the cold food arrived. If a diner can't get breakfast right, then I doubt they can do anything right. read more

The pancakes were really tasty and the turkey was freshly sliced. The gravy and mashed potatoes were not homemade but tasted good. The rolls were fresh and hot, the server was very friendly as well. The only bad thing about it was there were flies flying around. read more

When I visit small towns I'm a big supporter of local businesses. They can be hit or miss but it is a must try for me. I had the roasted chicken for dinner. It was a little dry but still tasty. The sides were great (stuffing, broccoli & cole slaw). I went back the next morning to try thier breakfast. It was a home run. Hotcakes, eggs and very tasty scrapple. Giving them 3 stars only because I come here around 4 or 5 times a year but today was the worst ever! If today had been my first time here it would of been no stars! But our waitress said would you like dessert? I wanted to say well it comes with it! She should of said are you all ready for your ice cream or pudding? There's another waitress that works there that is really on top of things we usually get her she always puts our ice cream in to go. Sadly, I strongly recommend you stay far, far away from here. I lucked out with soup & salad bar only; soup was chicken noodle & luckily they dished mine up before they ran out. It lacked salt in a major way. Salad bar was far short of impressive. I was surprised by it's lack of veggies actually - no mushrooms on a salad bar? Odd. I take that back; they had marinated mushrooms that tasted . . . off. Boiled eggs tasted fine but had the black ring around the yolk, which skeeves me out. Boyfriend had the appetizer sampler, which was ok. It was all deep fried stuff dumped out of a bag (chicken tenders were awful & SUPER over cooked). Two friends ordered their cream of crab soup, which was AWFUL. Flavor was passable, but the consistency was disgusting. The "crab" in it was, well, we don't know what it really was. Boyfriend actually spit it into his napkin after trying it. One bowl actually came out with scum on it - the kind that forms when soup hasn't been stirred in a long time. Not what you want to see when you get your bowl of piping hot soup. The French onion soup was alright flavor-wise and we agreed it could have been good 5 days ago before they let it reduce down to a salt rock. I had to drink an entire glass of water after tasting a single bite. The seafood (alfredo?) dish another friend got was alright; it wasn't what the menu led us to believe he was ordering (sounded more like a fried seafood platter), but still, the scallops & shrimp were large and good. Our waitress was very friendly, however she didn't seem to pick up on how most people weren't eating their meals (soup), plus I think some things were "lost in translation". The lemon meringue pie wasn't great. It seemed to have been sitting for a long time so the meringue turned into more of a firm marshmallow consistency. The eclair filling was pudding as opposed to traditional pastry cream. Oh, and the kitchen manager (I assume) had a stern talk with the staff about refilling things as they run out with the kitchen doors open so the entire restaurant could hear. Overall, it was awful. We laughed it off while there but will never, ever, ever return. Oh, and one friend (cream of crab soup only for dinner, which means she had 5 bites max) got sick on the ride home. read more

This is a great old fashioned and family-owned diner. I was staying at the nearby Hyatt and decided to come here for breakfast. My waitress was extremely friendly and had no problem with my requested subsitutions. My omellete was as good as an omellette can be, and the hashbrowns came out well done just as I asked. Coffee was refilled often. If your in the area, I highly recommend this place for a good cheap breakfast. read more

I dine here frequently because I have relatives that live in the area (I live in Virginia). I can't say enough good things about this place. As other reviewers have stated, the portions of food are HUGE. I have never had a bad meal here, and I try something different every time (last weekend I had the crab-stuffed chicken with linguine). I can't imagine an apathetic, bitter waitress. The people on the Eastern Shore are extremely affable; she might have been having a bad day, who knows. The owner of this establishment is from Turkey, and is extremely proud of his business (they also own another branch, in Easton, MD). The staff is friendly, the food is plentiful for a very fair price and their salad bar is the freshest I have ever eaten. My wife and I stopped on the way back from an OCMD vacation when the Bayside Skillet was too full and Salisbury looked like just the typical fare (Bob Evans, etc). We LOVED this place. The menu is amazing and our food was terrific. I had the Country Omlette and two hotcakes and coffee. They have a bakery too so we brought home some macaroons and apple dumplings. This has become my default eatery when in the Cambridge area a few times a year. Classic diner choices, as well as some less common dishes make for good variety. They have accommodated larger groups on relatively short notice. I personally like their broiled crab cakes as some of the best I've had (but not as good as my wife's). I have been here several times and it just seems to get worse each time. I will not be returning. Why was this the final straw? I ordered the turkey with stuffing with gravy , this is a dinner plate with two sides. The stuffing was plain awful! it was just bread with some kind of gravy in it . the gravy tasted like it came from a package mix it tasted too much like flour, it was awful, no spiciness or flavor just very thick and gluey. When the waitress asked me how was the meal I told her the stuffing was awful she did not offer to take any action. I guess I should have asked to speak to the manager but this was so disgusting I just didn't even care. Lastly the soup, manhattan clam chowder was clearly from a can, bland, mostly a tomato based soup with little of anything in it. it was very salty and yucky. One dish I do recommend is the liver and onions but don't get the gravy on it. Gravy here at this establishment is tastless convenience useless waste. Several of my other past visits were disappointing in some respects but none as disappointing, to the max, as this. Bad food like this is usually a sign they are going out of business. read more
