Not a very trustworthy company. Just wanted an oil change but they want to do some package deal to rotate tires, top off fluids, etc. "Ok sounds good to me since I'm about to go on a small road trip". Well nothing was done besides oil change. NOTHING. I asked for a partial refund due to this but they suggested I come back in to finish what they were paid good money to do. I don't live close enough to find this practical. You can now deal with my bank and eat these reviews. Thanks for waste of time and one expensive oil change. I really don't recommend these guys. This dealership ruined my car and has cost me thousands. I have a 2017 certified pre-owned Hyundai Tucson with 70k miles that didn't have issues until late September 2023. One day my car overheats and check engine light goes on. Take it in, they say it's a radiator issue and I replace it for $2k. Three weeks later I'm driving in middle of nowhere northern AZ, it overheats and engine completely blows out. Get the car towed in and it takes two weeks for them to provide an answer on the problem - need a new head gasket and say it's not under warranty. I have to bring my dad in to fight this with the manager since they were pretty dismissive to me as a woman. The service manager admits that they just fixed the radiator originally without digging deeper because it was the first thing they saw wrong with the car. It then takes nearly one month to get the coverage under the pre-owned warranty. As they work on the car, they realize the damage is bad enough a full engine replacement is needed. I don't learn of this for 1.5 weeks because my service advisor won't respond to my calls. It then takes almost another full month to get this approval with minimal communication to me. I finally get my car back the first week of January. During this time I had to fight with them for weeks to get coverage on a car rental and was only given 10 days. Only after I submitted a complaint to corporate Hyundai did I get reimbursed for the additional days I had to rent a car. From this experience and after years of needing to take my car here, I can say they provide the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Rude and incompetent staff who fail to provide the basic level of service you should receive when your car is in the shop. Miss their call? Good luck getting ahold of them within 1-5 business days. When my car was in their shop for months, I probably spent 4 hours a week just trying to get ahold of them for answers on status of my car or rental approval, even showing up in-person twice because I couldn't get answers. At one point, my advisor Shawn ignored my calls and texts for nearly two weeks and the service manager apologized when he learned I hadn't heard my entire engine needed to be replaced but they'd known for one week. Beyond this, I've had to bring my car in twice since January for issues that seem tied to the engine replacement they performed but they claim are not. I hope my review prevents someone else from going through the stress and costs I've experienced from working with this dealership. I don't believe they are trustworthy or honest and are much more willing to take advantage of women. read more

The dealership has questionable practices and is not responsive. Bought a car and asked them to ship it to my location and they were unable to do so for seven days. However, they were pressuring me to pay for the shipping without having made any arrangements or providing details of the shipment starting on the second day after purchase. Each time I called to ask about status of the shipping, they were keen on asking for payment but could not provide any information regarding the status. I had to arrange my own shipping in the end. Typical bait and switch dealership that needs to get with the times! I went here with my friend to help him buy a new car as his current car was unfortunately totaled in an auto accident. I wish I had checked the reviews prior to going here because I really rely on Yelp for everything and having see this dealership's poor ratings and reviews, I believe it would have set a better expectation. I'm typically really good at negotiating car deals so I tagged along to partake in his buying experience. This dealership is the typical bait and switch dealership that advertises one price and charges another...and then they turn into utter d-bags when you try to ask for the price advertised. My friend was interested in the Hyundai Elantra SEL, which had a sticker of just above $20 grand and with rebates and their financing offer, the price was about $14,500.00 plus taxes and title. That's what was advertised on their website. When we sat down to begin the sales process with the dealer, the price somehow was almost double at $26,000.00. Come to find out, they included $2,600.00 in add ons that were an utter joke and the dealer wound up admitting that their cost of the add ons was around $1,100.00. The add ons included nitrogen filled tires (which is a huge scam), door edge guards, which weren't asked for, tinting, which wasn't asked for, and a paint protection (another scam). Usually, from all of my car buying experiences, these additional services are typically sold at the time of finance. To add on unwanted items and then charge 2.5x the cost is highway robbery! The dealer would not adhere to their advertised price of $14,500.00 either. They brought the cost down to $19,000.00 and then tacked on their fees, the title, tax, etc. It was a complete waste of time because we told the dealer the max monthly payment was $250.00 per month, which they didn't even come close to. We wound up walking away and the manager, of course, had to add snarky comments once he realized we weren't buying the car. I was interested in a 2019 Sonata once the lease is up on my current car and I will not be bringing my business here. I do not appreciate bait and switch and I don't appreciate the scam tactics utilized by this dealer in adding ridiculous upgrades that weren't requested and then trying to charge the consumer 2.5x the cost. read more

They said they reordered the correct part and after multiple attempts to reach out to the service department via email and calls. If I could rate them lower, I truly would. You know all the TikTok trends with the Hyundai and Kia getting stolen by a USB cord. I went in to get the recall for the anti-theft software upgrade. I went in for my scheduled appointment and I even came in five minutes early to my appointment time at 12 pm. I was told my car was going to be done in three hours since they were busy and I am aware that this upgrade is a 30 to 45 minute process. I agree and decided to wait at the dealership until 3 o'clock. I have gotten no word or update from my advisor Giselle I had to track her down through her soup supervisor Paul. He finally told me it would possibly take another hour and 30 mins and that I should be done around 4:30. I agree and said thank you for finally giving me an update. I didn't get anything and I had to call them back at 5 o'clock blowing them up wondering where my car is and why I still haven't gotten another update. At this point I know they close in an hour at 6 PM. They had me waiting at the dealership for over six hours for a simple software upgrade that takes 30 to 45 minutes. If you need a quick and simple service done do not come here. you will not get your car back in the amount of time that they tell you and it will continuously take longer with no consistent update from them. read more

The service department at Camelback Hyundai deserves 0 stars. I know this review is long, but I just want to give you a glimpse into the horrible experience I went through trying to get my car serviced here. From the moment I handed over my keys when I dropped my car off for service, I was met with sexist, misogynistic, and degrading attitude and communication that continued throughout the several visits I had to make to this dealership before I got my car back. The individual who took my keys, unfortunately I did not catch his name, told me to head inside and when I asked which door to enter (since there were several and I had never been to this dealership before) he mockingly said "the big, wide open door right in front of you". Once I was assigned a service advisor, Paul Steenman, the behavior only got worse. His demeanor was off putting to say the least, and he seemed to thrive off of speaking to me like I was an idiot. Ironically he has several awards on the wall behind his desk - he must have been having an off day every. single. time. I talked to him, because I certainly never saw that "great" service. Putting his attitude aside, this dealership tried to rip me off by quoting upwards of $1,000 for repairs. They wanted over $500 just for diagnostic testing for my airbag light being on... I don't have to be a car expert to know when I'm being played. In the end, I ended up having the old, original parts put back in my car and requested to be refunded for the new part I ordered, since it did not fix the issue I brought my car in for in the first place. They agreed, and when I went to pick up my car, I asked for a receipt for the refund to which Paul said "we don't do that". Incredulously, I asked again for a receipt (which, might I add, is a completely normal request when you're being issued a refund) and Paul looked me in the eyes, didn't say a word, and just chuckled. I gave up on getting a receipt and instead asked if they had my card number on file to process the refund, to which Paul said yes but then later changed his mind and asked for my card. Once I handed it over, he wrote the card number down and expiration date on a literal sticky note (remember this detail for later!). After leaving the dealership in disbelief, I reached out to Paul asking AGAIN for a receipt or at least confirmation of the amount I would be refunded so I had some sort of written record of the transaction. Since it took hours to get a reply any time I texted Paul, I tried calling the service department in the meantime and was sent straight to voicemail. I then tried calling the general dealership number and was hung up on. After finding their customer service number from one of the many other 1 star reviews, I called Tammy Jarrin twice and sat and with it ringing and ringing for several minutes before I gave up since no one would pick up. Paul finally replied letting me know I would see my refund in 3-5 business days. I waited 6 business days, still no refund. I reached back out to Paul and he let me know it was "in processing still" but that he would "let me know when it goes thru". At this point, we were at 7 business days since the refund was supposed to be issued, so I asked for the transaction's ARN so my bank could trace the refund from their end. Instead of providing the requested information, I was again told the refund "would be going thru soon" and was then, FINALLY, texted a picture of a receipt (I guess they do actually do those when you bug them about it enough). Except the receipt showed the refund was issued that day, so 7 business days after they originally told me it would be issued, and it was issued to a card number that did not belong to me. After texting Paul about this error and getting no response, I called the dealership the next day and Paul answered the phone (so he does have a phone on hand, he just can't answer my texts - got it). I let him know he issued the $300+ refund to a card that does not belong to me, to which he said "Oooooh that wasn't the right card number? Well that isn't good. I guess that explains why the refund didn't go through". I had to AGAIN provide my card number so they could issue me the refund. I'm glad to know Paul must have lost the original sticky note he wrote my card number and expiration date down on - sure hope my personal banking information doesn't end up in the wrong hands as a result! TLDR, this service department took advantage of the fact that I am a young woman and made me leave feeling absolutely awful. Not only were they unprofessional and demeaning, they clearly don't care about the way they treat paying customers. I would never voluntarily give this dealership another dime or minute of my time. Do yourself a favor and do not waste your energy here like I did. read more

Do not go here. I started off with them messaging me that I had an approval for 23 elantra. This was an outright lie. There was no approval. So they submitted an application for a 20 Malibu and had me sign all the finance documents. I then had to chase them down two days later to find out what was going on and they told me the bank had approved me for a lesser amount. So they had me come in and look at a 2016 Honda accord which I should add had all the maintenance lights on. We received an "unsolicited" call as a follow up to an oil change for a Manager Special Discount for a Brake Fluid Exchange & to change the Cabin Air Filter for $109. But when we arrived, the Service Advisor didn't want to honor that price. We had to ask for a manager, and then she agreed. BUT, she wrote the service order as "cabin air filter AS NEEDED!" which means they did not intend to do that work. Also, you can never get anyone when you call the service department. Spoke with Luis over the phone to give a $500 deposit and he took my credit card info over the phone. Made an appointment for Friday, but couldn't make it and had to change appointment for Sunday. Luis and Isaac both pushed for me to come in sooner, but were ok with Sunday. I text Isaac today (Sunday) and let him know I was on the way. He then asked how far away I was and I let him know I was 30 minutes out. I show up to the dealership only to find that Luis was off and Isaac was busy with another customer. Another gentleman greets me and tells me I need to head to their sister dealership right next-door at Camelback Kia to talk to someone who can assist me. Here I met with Derek who told me that the car was sold on Friday. He then mentioned that Camelback Hyundai try to reach out and let me know. I showed him all my missed calls and voicemails and I had nothing from Camelback Hyundai. On top of that, Isaac didn't tell me a thing even after letting him know I was on the way. Also, the deposit that Luis told me was made on the car was never actually made or charged to my credit card, thus never actually having a deposit on the car. There was zero communication and I wasted about two hours of my day because of Isaac's horrible communication, and Luis's "mistake". Granted this dealership has great reviews and I'm sure they are great to work with, I would never recommend working with Luis or Isaac. read more

I bought a new 22 Elantra less than a year ago and have had nothing but issues since purchasing, the first two repairs I needed I took to North Scottsdale Hyundai which is AMAZING. They are knowledgeable and compassionate which is not something I can say about Camelback Hyundai. A few weeks ago my check engine light came on my vehicle which had under 10k miles, I dropped it off at Camelback because it was on my way to work which I deeply regret. After having my car all day I received a call from my service advisor Mariah who informed me I needed a new transmission and that she was not sure if it would be covered under warranty which would be an over $6,000 repair. That is enough to make anyone's stomach drop because keep in mind this is practically a brand new car, how could a new transmission not be covered under warranty unless there was damage to the vehicle?! I had experienced every emotion in the book these new few days as I was left without a vehicle as Mariah at Camelback Hyundai said they would not cover a rental car until they knew the repair would be covered by warranty, which she also had no idea when the decision would come back. So I did what anyone would do and tried to contact her supervisor but unfortunately I never received an answer and his voicemail was always full. At this point I contacted the service manager at North Scottsdale Hyundai as they have always been so great to work with previously and immediately got ahold of. He informed me of the right questions to ask Camelback Hyundai and also said there is no reason I should have not received a rental vehicle out of courtesy from Hyundai. Three days later Mariah called to tell me they would give me a courtesy rental vehicle even though my transmission replacement was not yet approved. Almost a week later approval came in (thankfully) and three weeks later I had my car back. Now two days later I am needing to take my vehicle BACK in for service because it is making awful sounds but I can assure you I will never take it back to Camelback Hyundai and I do not recommend you take your vehicle there or purchase a new Hyundai any time soon because I have no doubt in my mind this vehicle is a lemon. read more

I was talking to one of the salesman on a deal, and when we reached an outcome with which I wasn't satisfied, I thanked him for his time and said it's not in the cards for us. They wanted 15k above MSRP for the vechile I was looking for, while various other dealerships are only charging 2-3k markup. On top of that they came in the lowest possible trade in value when other dealerships of the same brand are offering 6k over for my trade. The dealership felt like a college party. How would a client negotiate a car when you have sales associates throwing things around, using aggressive language, watching movies and music video load enough to overshadow the dealerships music. The director tried one last attempt to negotiate but mad me want to walk away which I did. I am not 100% sure the situation this morning and/or if it was already taken care of, but whoever was working your front desk was not sober. I believe his name was Rick or maybe Mike. He had some sort of a black tattoo on his neck. This took place around 10ish this morning. I would like to give him the benefit of the doubt that he had a late night, but when he couldn't stop moving his jaw back & forth that's when I knew something wasn't right. He reeked of alcohol & all I needed to know was information about break pads and a oil change & he was struggling to respond to the exact question, yet was talking a million miles per minute. Not just bad business people. Liars. I LOVE my 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe. As soon as the ink dries on your purchase, they got what they needed. Expect no more kindness or even semi-decent service. In fact, plan on being completely deceived. I've been treated like inconvenient trash each time I go in for service. I said I knew I had a nail in the right front tire. I got a call two hours later that they couldn't patch it because the tires haven't been rotated in a long time and the front ones are too bald to repair. I told Tony (who should not be able to interact with customers). that THEY are the ones who have been servicing it, so why was it not done? The response from Tony: "Sorry, I wasn't there so how would I know? You probably didn't ask for it." I said I got the best warranty package when I bought the 2020 in 2021 and I was told that it covered everything. I shouldn't have had to ask. The manager came out and they both explained that since I bought it used, they can't see the warranty so I need to ask them every time to look it up. Th wet had just planned on charging me full price. All horrible service, right? At least that was a conversation. Next is flat lies. So, I plan on going to Discount Tire tomorrow because they are a phenomenal company, but I said, "Did you at least put air in the tires?" Tony said yes. Then the manager asked "They were rotated this time, right? Tony said yes. I drive out the drive through and the lights came on and tire pressure gauge showed the tire with the mail in the same place, and all of the tires at the same PSI as when I pulled in SIX HOURS earlier. I turned around and pulled up, told Tony nothing with the tires was done. He said "Oh yeah it was, you just need to drive a mile or two for it to reset." I drove 3 miles home, the tires hadn't magically rotated during that time and the PSI didn't magically go to the right levels. Thinking about going back and causing a scene, but this is my first few days off in months and they already stole most of today. They told me the expected delivery date was going to be the 18 then that turned in to any time this week then anytime this month etc etc. They are selling hopes and dreams but no cars. Decided to go next door to camelback Toyota and got a car as soon as I walked in no fuss no long dragged out process to put a deposit down on a make believe car. I asked for my deposit back on Sunday and they told me it would be processed on Monday but here we are on Wednesday with no return of my deposit no call back no confirmation it is getting done. Let's not pretend that you don't get bonuses from the manufacturer for how many vehicles you sell. The dealership signed a "We-Owe" to me of items that will be done after the sale. Nowhere on there does it say I don't have the right to choose the vendor they use. Their $2,965 "Camelback Difference" package is a waste of money, DON'T DO IT! You don't get to dictate what I put on my vehicle. I told them if they pay the $1,450 to the vendor I want to use I'll release them from all liability of the rest of the items in the package. Instead they'd rather have me take them to arbitration which is going to cost $1,500 just in filing fees that they're required to pay. Was on the hunt for a specific Hyundai 2021 Elantra & the first time I came here I got to test drive it! Unfortunately at the time they didn't have the color I wanted & I still wasn't too sure about which car I wanted to get so I took the time to look at other cars before I decided I wanted to commit to the Elantra. About a couple weeks after we saw online that they had the exact color I've been searching for!! Immediately went to check it out & were helped out by Jeff (he helped us the first time we came to test drive as well) He is literally the nicest & so laid back. He doesn't have that typical pushy salesman vibe & gave us a great deal! Mark was also very helpful with explaining all the information I needed to know & got me out the door as quickly as he could! I got there pretty late in the day after work, and they all stayed after closing hours which I am absolutely grateful for!! DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT PURCHASE A CAR HERE!!!!!!!! THEY CRASH NEW CARS!!!!! I came in on Black Friday 2019 to buy a new car which I did end up making a deal with KYLEE TAYLOR on a brand new 2020 Hyundai Elantra. I do not have a drivers license due to a long story and getting in trouble but in the process of making things right I needed to get a car first to obtain my license (court ordered agreement), I informed the dealership of this and they said this would be no problem (of course just trying to secure the sale) so they said they'd be able to deliver the car. The day of delivery this woman KYLEE crashed my car and decided to leave it at the scene of the accident and not inform me that it was just left in a empty lot for 2 weeks which it ended up being impounded! It's been almost a month and I've still never had possesion of the car or keys! They refuse to take any type of responsibility and scared they are going to be sued so they refuse to work with me! What type of business is this and is this really how they treat their "valued customers" ? this is beyond unprofessional. If I could give zero stars I would this place is horrible and they don't even care. Do not buy a car from here do not take your car to get fixed here don't do anything these people need to go out of business the lack of care that they give in the amount of money that people spend on these cars shows that they don't deserve anyone's business. I had an appointment at 8:30 the car wasn't even seen until 1045 when I complained that I had waited 2 1/2 hours with an appointment and I was giving every excuse in the book mind you the oil change got done in 15 minutes once I complained which shows that it can be done and they can meet times they choose not to read more

UPDATE STAY AWAY. Now that I have had this "certified pre-owned Hyundai" for a while the first service guy I had Pedro wanted to charge me 800.00 for an oil leak which was done under warranty by a new service person. He also tried to charge me 6000.00 for a new transmission from hitting something, which I never did hit anything. The tranny started moving around so I had to address it. The shop has just told me that this has already been repaired once and poorly. "certified pre-owned" right? That the damage was under the protective shroud underneath. I am fixing it for under 1000.00 and it would have been less had I not been lied to and told to replace the entire transmission. Now I know why they wanted to give me a free month that came with a waiver of responsibility for them. Thank goodness I didn't take it. Hopefully I have actions I can take since my shop took pics and I didn't sign the waiver. Camelback is what you think of as a stereotypical car dealership. Be prepared to do the sales negotiations. I like car I got, but I had to go through a fair amount to get it done. They offered me a month free for all the trouble I went through but the check came with a lifetime waiver of liability for Camelback Hyundai, so I did not take it. I had a salesman approach ME to buy my used car because they were short on inventory. Was told the process would take 15 min. I was not at all planning to sell my car so I did not wash or clean. I fully disclosed a minor fender bender (repaired with factory parts) and walked the car showing dents and dings. They offered $3500 lower than trade in value, told me I had a 'bad carfax' and needed $1000's to get it ready to sell. Wasted 2-1/2 hours of my time for a car that Carfax values retail at over 3x what they were offering to buy. I get it, they need to make money and make a car presentable and safe. The mansplained and dismissed me every step of the way for a deal that they approached me to make. Never will I ever return. Ladies, run for the hills this is a typical car dealership where women are treated like idiots. I put less than $100 and got full ask at another dealer. read more
