Casual eatery with insane views of Zion National Park. Known for their rotisserie chicken we naturally ordered burgers. Sometimes I have to laugh at myself! After hiking all day a burger just sounded better. Luckily they make great burgers as well. Ordered a kids cheeseburger with sweet potato fries and a few prickly pear margaritas. Love when places allow me to order from the children's menu! Indoor and outdoor seating here and their patio is breathtaking. It's located next door to the Desert Pearl Inn so if you're staying there you can just walk over. Cool new fast casual spot in Zion. I love the camp-style plates they serve the food in. The service is excellent (for a fast casual restaurant) and all the employees were very friendly. My fiancée and I have been on a little diet, so we have decided that when we're traveling, we only order one entree and a side and share. We got the rotisserie chicken and the camp fries. This was probably the juiciest chicken I've ever had in my life. The only thing I didn't like was that although the skin part was hot, the meat wasn't hot anymore when we ate it. It was still very good though, which is why I'm not taking a star off. The fries were to die for. You know how you can taste the freshness in certain food? I definitely tasted that with their fries here, as well as the side salad that came with our chicken. The fingerling potatoes were also quite good. I think the selling point of the chicken dish were the sauces.. it came with two different kinds. One was an aioli of some sort (we were guessing huckleberry) and the other one tasted almost like a cross between jam and bbq sauce.. it was so good! So, it's a Saturday, parking is full at Zion National Park, it's noon and we're a group of 8. We leave the park and find our way here. We're thinking long lines and an hour to get our food, right? I was rudely told to get up from my seat while my husband was ordering food literally already paying at cash register. Never felt so uncomfortable. As many national park we have been to we have never had a bad experience with customer service. Pork roast is good, comes thinly pre-sliced which makes it a tad dry, however it's paired with sauces & grits which balance the meal. Christmas Day special was a 10-15 oz prime rib with Mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, steamed spinach - the whole meal for one was good and plenty of food for two. The service here is pretty good! The person taking our order walked us through a lot of questions we had and was very attentive when our foods came. You order first, then it's self seating. The ambiance totally suits the environment of being outdoors. The price was more than fair and the servings were more than enough. The chicken was cooked so perfectly. The potatoes were so crisp and well seasoned on the outside and super tender and soft on the inside. The beef sandwich was also great, not dry and huge. Despite understanding that this establishment operates in a small tourist town--where repeat business may not be a primary concern--the overall experience left much to be desired. The sausage plate and camp burger were disappointing. Normally I bring back leftovers but not the sausage plate. Veggies were greasy and only the cauliflower was seasoned (but too salty). The corn in my sausage plate was the the real kicker as I'm not sure what food prep or age sucked all the moisture and flavor out of it. The one thing I did enjoy and carry out was my Coca-Cola. Service was equally lacking; my drink was forgotten twice, only arriving after multiple reminders. To add to the frustration, a surcharge was imposed without my knowledge, and gratuity was expected upfront at the time of payment--an unusual practice given the level of service provided. I had just done the Narrow's hike and worked up QUITE the appetite. I wanted something fast and filling but also tasty and casual since I was exhausted. I found Camp Outpost on Yelp and made my way over. It was perfect. It's a casual counter service spot but the food is elevated. The self describe as "camp fare" and you'll find hearty dishes like rotisserie chicken, pork roast, and sausages. Thinks you can imagine are easily cooked over a fire! They also have sandwiches and salads rounding out the menu. I went with their fried chicken sandwich which came with a side of fries. I also saw an order of their crispy brussels sprouts go by and added a plate to my order. It's under the shareables portion of the menu and it was a shareable portion, indeed! Way more than I could eat by myself, even at a calorie deficit from my hike! The chicken sandwich was also SO good. Perfectly crispy but not greasy or heavy feeling. It was served with pickled red onions, arugula, pickles, and a spicy aioli on a brioche bun. The aioli had a slight kick to it but it wasn't VERY spicy, which was good for a weakling like me. If you want more oomph maybe ask them for some hot sauce. The best part? Once i was done eating I could roll my way to my hotel without having to wait to settle up the bill. I ordered a kids burger with all the fixins of an adult burger and sweet potato fries. My husband got the double cheeseburger ( we forget the name they use and their regular fries that come with the burger. We both have already had a burger in Zion and both had very disappointing dry meat. These burgers were delicious. My sweet potato fries were some of the best I have had. The regular fries were just so-so. They did forget to upgrade my fries to sweet potato but corrected it quickly. You order at the counter and they give you a number and bring the food to you.
