Camp burger. Yummy
Michael M.

Nice spot in Zion for great comfort food. Easy to order by QR code and then they bring it out to the table. Fast and efficient. The food was well prepared and the portions were large. I had the camp burger and others in my party had the chicken taco's and mission salad bowl with chicken. Both said they were great! So I recommend this place if you are looking for a fast great food experience.

CAMP CAESAR SALAD

So yummy after a long day of hiking and exploring!! Service was unique but enjoyable. You ordered everything on your phone and the staff would then bring it out to your table. The type of service didn't disturb our experience! The restaurant was clean and seemed well staffed. After ordering our drinks and food came out very fast. They did have a large patio but we opted to sit inside as the AC was wonderful.

Great location, love the outside seating to enjoy the view - easy to order online from the tables.

Great place - easy self ordering online at the table. Quick service and beautiful views sitting outside. The food was good, and the burgers looked amazing. Walked here from the hotel, as it's in center of Springdale. Definitely worth it.

ALL-NATURAL CHICKEN STRIPS

Camp Outpost has a really cozy atmosphere and was a nice place to relax after a long day. The fries were great and definitely the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the chicken tenders were underwhelming. They had very little breading and just didn't have the texture or flavor I was hoping for. Also, the drinks only came in bottles, so there weren't any refills available. Overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere and fries, but I hope the chicken tenders improve because that's what I'd come back for.

CAMP BURGER and sweet potato CAMP FRIES
Michaela I.

Definitely felt like a millennial burger joint. You order through a QR code on the table and the prices were somewhat expensive for my taste. I got the burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was good, but didn't blow my mind good, didn't taste $22+ good. Sweet potato fries were fresh, but somewhat bland, needs more salt or seasoning. Food came out quick enough but staff was minimal contact with us, seemed like that was the goal of the restaurant.

Solid restaurant to get basic vittles in your stomach. For context, Zion doesn't have too much around it, but Springdale has more options within 10 minutes of the park compared to many other national parks. Service at Camp Outpost was great, despite my stomach acting up still from the food poisoning I got eating canned mussel provisions from Patagonia in Arches. Although I spent about a quarter of my time in the restaurant in the bathroom, the majority of the time was enjoying the rustic ambiance. Quiet restaurant with good lunchtime vibes, even during off season the restaurant delivered solidly on its club sandwich, fresh lettuce and tomatoes crunching against panfried bacon and rotisserie chicken. The pork chops were okay, a little tough to chew, but seasoned lightly with chimichurri and tasty. Highlight of the restaurant was probably the crispy brussels sprouts. Too bad my stomach didn't hold onto anything too long. Thanks to Camp Outpost for a delicious and relaxing lunch and sorry for using up your toilet paper roll in the post-meal realization my day before food poisoning reaction was still going on.

Great food drinks and dog friendly in the patio. Fried pickles were good as were the shrimp tacos. Prickly pear margaritas were also very good. We have eaten two meals while in Zion

A quick stop for some lunch at Camp outpost is where you need to go. Had a burger and it was delicious. They also have on their menu a lot of different chicken rotisserie which was also delicious. They had a bit of potatoes and I normally don't like potato salad, but it was really really good cause it was like a roasted potato mix situation going on. Also ordered fries are so amazing and definitely recommend this as a pitstop. They have a quick ordering process because they use a QR code and facility is clean and very close to Zion. Staff was friendly, even though there was limited staff you would not feel it with a full Restaurant.

Mission Salad

They're open during winter months, which is a big plus! Service is also really friendly here. We came in for dinner and tried the Camp Caesar, Mission Salad, Crispy Brussels Sprouts, Chicken Strips (kids), and Cheese Quesadilla (kids). They also had a banana muffin out, which we grabbed. Their winter menu didn't have tacos or some other things, which was a bummer. Ordering at the counter is straightforward, and we took a number to our table. Food came out really quickly. The brussels sprouts were probably the best thing we ate. Even our kids loved them. Super crispy, great texture - yum! The kids offerings were okay. Good enough for the kids. The quesadilla was a corn flour one. Their fries were pretty good though. The two salads were also really nice. The garlic baguette that's served with the salads is phenomenal! Such a great texture on the bread, and I loved the seed crust. Plus, the salads were reasonably priced (looking at you, Onyx, and your ridiculously overpriced salad).

Half Rotisserie Whole Chicken

We loved this place so much we came here 3 times during our trip!! The rotisserie chicken was so good, I love how they did the potatoes, all of it. It feels like a good home cooked meal after a long day of being outside and hiking. We came back several times to try the burgers and tacos and tried the seasonal Mac and cheese and peach cobbler. Even the prickly pear margaritas were tasty! Highly recommend to anyone who's in the area. Looking forward to coming back if we're in town!

Stumbled upon Camp Outpost! I had a mission salad with rotisserie chicken and I meant to take a pic of it- whoops! So good! Great atmosphere! Super nice people!

Such a cute place to eat after a long hike in Zion. We had burgers that were flavorful. The ranch was so delicious. Such a pretty view if you sit outside.

CAMP BURGER - tasty and good portion

The food was good. Prices are a bit high - but totally get that we're on the main strip of all the Zion tourism. Love the big tables out front for group of 6. Easy ordering with the QR code. Bike parking. Indoor area was smaller group tables but nice. Great overall.

Cashless establishment. And then posting a 3% surcharge on all orders due to high operating costs. I'll take my business elsewhere.

The slow-cooked pork is cooked for 14 hours! This is a woman who takes pride in her food and enjoys her job! Very nice servers too. Food is delicious! I ordered the BBQ salad with aforementioned shredded pork. What a masterpiece of a salad. Plenty of juicy shredded pork, lots of real bacon pieces, mixed greens, cheddar cheese, cabbage, tomatoes and onions in perfect harmony! Pour that BBQ sauce and ranch all over, and you have yourself just the ticket after hiking 7 miles! My hubby snagged the pork verde crepes which he loved too. Check out the pics! MeMe went out of her way to find me a size small t-shirt that is beautifully screenprinted with a design that celebrates both Zion Canyon and MeMe's! Check them out! Unfortunately, it was a tad too big for me but they probably have your size. The meal was very reasonable for Zion/Springdale. We ate at the Red Rock Grill at the Lodge the night before. This meal was superior and half the price. The menu here is creative and unique. I loved this lil café with a lot of clocks, a bit of funk, and a thoroughly engaging owner in MeMe herself!! Go here for a yummy dining adventure when you are sick of the same ole overpriced steak and fish.

The shrimp tacos were fresh, juicy, and packed with flavor - perfectly seasoned shrimp with great toppings and that soft tortilla that holds it all together without falling apart. Highly recommend! Then the coconut shrimp - crispy on the outside, tender inside, with that sweet coconut flavor that pairs amazingly with the dipping sauce. Such a tasty twist. But the star for me was the chimichurri ribeye steak - cooked just right, super tender, and the chimichurri sauce brought bright, herby freshness that cut through the richness perfectly. One of the best steaks I've had in a casual spot like this. Everything felt fresh and housemade, portions were generous, and the vibe is chill and welcoming. If you're in the area (or making a trip!), do yourself a favor and hit up Whiptail Grill. We'll definitely be back next time we're around - craving that chimichurri ribeye already! Oh and topped it off with the flan!! So good!

The waitress explained that their menu switches over to lunch at 11:30. That's certainly one of the latest I've ever seen! At any rate, we were happy to wait the extra 10-15 minute wait for the kitchen switchover. At this point the place wasn't too crowded at all all, and just as promised, we were able to place our order at 11:40. Garlic Burger ($18) - This is a huge plate of food with a mound of fries and one gigantic burger. The burger starts with a soft bun, lightly toasted on both sides, which is then piled up with onion and plenty of piquant pickles, making the burger extra tangy. There's a weak creamy mayo/mustard mixture that soaks the veggies, followed by a giant half pound burger patty on top. It's slightly pink in the center, but is somehow dry. It doesn't have much of a grilled/char flavor, nor much of a beefy flavor either. The patty is large but disappointing in flavor and execution. There's a pitiful spoonful of garlic on top of the patty. It such a small amount it's almost indistinguishable in flavor and texture - in fact, I didn't even know there was any garlic until I deconstructed the burger. That's a very poor showing for a burger with "garlic" in the name. On top of the garlic is a thick slice of melted cheese, more mayo/mustard, a small bed of shredded lettuce (complete with shreds falling out all over even before being brought to our table), and a couple of tomato slices. There's plenty of mayo/mustard sauce for the sandwich, enough to overcome how dry the meat is. The sandwich comes with a choice of regular or sweet potato fries, of which we went with the former. They are standard food service battered fries, not fried long enough to give any coloring to the exterior, making them extra pale and soft. We asked for a side of fry sauce which we found to be thin, watery, and drippy. (2/5) Pork Tamales ($22) - This dish comes with a side salad, which came immediately to the table. It's a pretty large portion for a side salad and includes plenty of romaine, full cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, charred corn, olives, and a pile of shredded carrot in an extremely tangy and slightly sweet dressing. The dressing is both way too acidic and way too watery for my tastes. It's so overdressed that a large puddle of dressing remained after finishing the salad. The tamales aren't very good either. They are doused in a green chile sauce that's only added after being blasted in whatever cooking appliance they use. The masa feels woefully under-steamed. It's quite coarse in texture and is hard, dry, and crumbly. It's so hard it's almost crunchy. The tamales seem to be pan fried on both sides, or perhaps broiled in a salamander for far too long. The green chile inside isn't even that flavorful, making the tamales a bland disappointment. There's a bed of shredded pork underneath the two tamales. The pork is not as far gone as the tamales. It's a little stringy and dry, but still retains at least a minimum amount of moisture. The pork has a pleasing pink/red tinge, but isn't smoky whatsoever. The overall profile doesn't display much in terms of spices, and the flavor of the pork itself isn't my favorite. I have a feeling that this is microwaved food service pork rather than being made in house. On top of everything is a chile verde sauce. It's again not that flavorful, with more acidity than anything else. There's absolutely zero heat - it's one of the most mild green chile sauces I've had. I feel like the dish could be improved a little if they simmered the pork in the green chile to help layer the flavors more. Unfortunately they are clearly cooked and assembled in a modular manner to save on ingredient cost. On the side is brown rice, actually cooked with green chile, and tender black beans that are appropriately salted. (2/5) Tip: If most people are sitting on the patio, I recommend not asking for an indoor seat. We were basically ignored by the waitress after we got our food since we were the only customers sitting inside. Also, get here earlier for fastest seating. By the time we left half past noon, the place was bustling with the entire patio being full of patrons. Oscar's Cafe serves huge portions with mediocre to bad quality. It's definitely a quantity over quality type of place and seems to be catered towards people who are scared of flavor and spices. I certainly would not return. Bathrooms - Single unisex room in the restaurant itself, but there are more in the mercantile area.

Everyone here love to say, "will let your server know." My mentor, Andrew Cherng of Panda, famously pointed out that is one way to push away responsibilities and make the customers wait even longer. Funny thing is that it's such a small request that can easily be taken care of immediately. Okay the highlight was the wild game meatloaf which was also the saving grace because I normally don't like meatloaf and this one was really well done. It made up for the dry burger and the average service as well as the so so ambiance, considering everything is quite expensive for a casual dining place.
