I've eaten here twice and the second time was worse than the first, Both times were for private parties, you know where a restaurant would should put its best foot forward, trying to get new business ? Both times buffet was cold , pasta was overcooked and under flavored. The chicken ? i dont know where to begin . i ate here for the first time and wound up only getting apps. ordered clam chowed and they ran out and instead of telling us they brought out chicken barley soup. waitress had major attitude when we said that we didnt order that and when spoke to the owner his attitude was just as bad and said that she was his daughter. Simply delicious and amazing food; dinner menu is extensive and very reasonably priced. We met the chef, who started in or about September of '21, he brings a very authentic and Mediterranean flair to classic dishes. Surprised and delighted with the specials and new takes on old standards; recommend the Chicken Cordon Bleu bites as an appetizer. Staff is friendly and accommodating, there is lots of space and the main dining room is clean, nicely arranged and decorated. There is a party/conference room separate from this to accommodate up to 120 guests for special occasions. We know where we will bring our friends on our next outing! read more

My husband and I came in for lunch. We sat in the bar at a hightop. Appetizer; Spedini was good, a wee bit salty for me. Lunch; shrimp/scallops was also salty, it came with a soup(chicken barley). The soup was hot and very good! Salmon salad, large portion, presentation was pretty. The house dressing(on side) was not good, oily tasting with not much flavor. The salad was amazing with just the balsamic reduction! The entire restaurant was clean and neat. Our server did her job, nothing above and beyond. We did not oder dessert, shared the menu though. Areas of opportunity for this rest; use Less salt when cooking. read more

I live in RI but travel quite a bit. RI is best known for a couple of things. One is the beaches and another is the food. It's not always easy to find what I consider good food on the road. Back home I have Federal Hill Italian food and down by the beach is the seafood. This place was a nice little find with terrific food, a great atmosphere and very reasonable prices. Found an ad in the Citizen and decided to try it out. Everything we ordered to be delicious especially the surf and turf special.

Family owned and family run. Food is delicious and portions are LARGE. Service staff are always cordial and helpful. I'm a big fan of eggplant rotolini and theirs is superb. Martinis are huge. They should be presented with a tiny diving board on the glass edge. We had a party of 13 wanting 7 separate checks. Agreed to with a smile and completed accurately. read more

They have the best olive oil dip for the bread! Absolutely amazing. A dip like that needs a way better bread. It was pretty lame, stale Italian Bread. I had chicken and lobster and it was slightly overcooked and flavor was bland. Take out is also not very good at all., though we called it in at 9PM and they seemed annoyed. Then when I went to pick it up the door was locked so I felt like an idiot! It says they are open until 10. So don't lock it! The lady on the phone rushed my order and forgot to add stuffed mushrooms and they forgot my side salad. But we called back and they did not charge us for the mushrooms and corrected the mistake. Third time I decided to give them one last shot and we did takeout. This time the chicken was undercooked. I ordered chicken franciese, and I was halfway through when I thought I noticed it looking a litle pink. I did not finish it, and coudn't really finish my pasta because A. I lost my appetite, and B. the pasta was way too al dente. Sure enough, a couple hours later I became very ill. I have never been back, and will never go back. Staff is unfriendly and rude, given the outdated interior I don't even want to know how bad the kitchen is. Avoid at all costs. Stick with Amici's in Middletown if you are looking for yummy resonably priced Italian food. read more

Arrived famished. We asked for bread before even ordering drinks. The bread is typical mediocre Connecticut bread. But I needed something in my stomach and it served the purpose. We had the stuffed mushrooms. You get 5 huge mushrooms. We both enjoyed those. Dinner was Chicken Parm for myself and Chicken McCarty for my husband. I'm always concerned about the red sauce but this one was delicious. The piece of chicken was enormous. Very good. My husband loved the Chicken McCarthy which was chicken breast with spinach, roasted peppers and shrimp over risotto in a vodka blush sauce. He said the sauce was delicious. He loved his meal. The salad that comes with the meal was ah. I would have gotten the soup but the only choice was NE Clam Chowder. I had two glasses of wine which was the best pour around. The iced tea was good and they had sugar in the raw which my husband likes. Cappuccino and a coffee. We got the tiramisu to go for our son. That is the only homemade dessert and my son said it was delicious. Good attentive service without hovering over us. Dinner was $100 plus tip. Definitely will return. read more

The food here is outstanding and the staff is great. The stuffed mushrooms were excellent. The fried mozzarella was really good. I know it's a simple/easy appetizer but most places get it wrong. Both appetizers were great. The chicken capagna was very tasty and the presentation was beautiful. A very powerful orange/yellow color from the orange vodka sauce. The penne alla vodka was one of the best I've had. Both the wine and beer selections were impressive. Great prices for the draft beer. A Two Roads double IPA was insanely cheap. One minor complaint about the staff. We were a group of six and one person at our table became full very quickly and the server basically took that persons food away to be wrapped while the others were still eating. The server should of waited longer before removing that one persons plate so they wouldn't feel left out or make the others need as though they needed to east faster. The building interior needs an update badly. It is stuck in early 1990's mode. One look around and it's 1992 everywhere. Overall, very good food with a great staff in a kinda of bland building. read more

Nothing against the restaurant but the food is low quality. The fettuccine carbonara had low grade meat and the sauce was mediocre. Their house made salad dressing was good but everything else sucked. My boyfriend ordered the chicken parmigiana and meatballs and he said it wasn't good either. My wife and I have ordered take out a couple of times from here. We both ordered the shrimp scampi. Both times it has lacked flavor, as the sauce tastes like watered down butter. Where's the white wine, lemon, salt, perhaps some freshly chopped parsley? Shrimp have been cooked to a firm "leathery" texture. Thank you for the effort, but we will not be back. We have been here several times now since being clued in by coworkers. What a GREAT FIND! Everything we've had is very good from Italian traditional to seafood. Service has always been friendly and attentive, from the greeters to the waitstaff to the busboys. We brought friends last night and they raved about it. Awesome food! Not sure why this place isn't busier. They also own Portifino's in Kensignton. Spedini, Veal Orange, Fried Mozz, Veal Saltimbuca, veal picatta, is AMAZING. It's my first but second or third for my spouse and friend. There were four of us. We visited on Saturday night. The server was also the manager Alex. He was friendly and accommodating to our special requests. There were large portions. I was impressed with the pork shank for it fell off the bone. I asked for angel hair with vodka sauce instead of potatoes. I was also impressed with the NY clam chowder.i cleaned up the cup. The salad can do better with dressing on the side. There was too much dressing on my salad. I didn't finish it. The oil was spiced with chili though the bread can be better. Alex spent time talking to us after our meals. I had to take leftovers home. They were hard, dense and tasted freezer burned, they were disgusting. The server was apologetic and offered the sausage instead. As promised, I came back and l couldn't be more happy. Well, maybe with a better bread. I still had take-out but this time but I took care to order al dente and we got al dente. Joan had the chicken picatta again and it was as wonderful as the first time. This time she has penne with picatta sauce - that is the best picatta that either of us remember in some time. I had an excellent fettuccine carbonara. I would have liked a little more prosciutto and will order it that way next time. The fettuccine was fresh (a rarity in my part of the world) and al dente. Best restaurant in Portland hands down. We have had the opportunity to eat here on many occasions, as well as use their catering and facilities for a party. I can tell you this restaurant defines flavor. If you ask your dish to be prepared as such they have some of the spiciest dishes I have had. Try the penne arribiate with grilled chicken. Next level stuff. Olive oil with bread also has jalapeños in it. Very nice touch. Lively bar scene on the other side of the restaurant. They are distinct and different sides. read more

I've only had their burgers, which are pretty good. They make them the way you want them, though they usually come out cooked more than you ordered. The staff is friendly, but sometimes when there are regulars in there it can be difficult to get prompt service (especially in the bar area). It is also rather dark and can be pretty loud. My sister and I decided to go here for lunch one Sunday. The only thing good about this place was the bread n olive oil but even the bread was still partially frozen when brought to our table. The man who greeted us at the door was also our waiter and i think the manager. He was on the phone and took him a few seconds to acknowledge us. When he finally sat us, he told us the specials which we didn't have interest in so we ordered an appetizer and wine. We finally ordered our lunch. Then when more people came we overheard he told them a completely different special which sounded amazing and preceded to tell everyone else that special. When I asked for more wine, he brought me a new glass which was dirty and had lip gloss markings on it!!! I didn't say anything, maybe I should have. So I just poured it into my old glass. Ewww! The food took forever and was bland. I ordered chicken vodka and it tasted like frozen food. They gave you pasta on the side with sauce but had no taste. Horrible place. My husband and I eat in and get takeout at least 3 times a month. Many times we order the specials, which never disappoint! The food is plated really well and is consistently fresh and tastes amazing. I have too many favorite dishes to name them all! There are many new items on the drink menu, which we take advantage of. The Bellini's are my favorite! The staff is very friendly, attentive, and now knows our entire family by first name. We held a retirement party for a family member in the party room and every guest raved about the food. We also rented the party room for a class reunion. We were sent home with atleast 8 dinners worth of leftover food on both occasions. I would not hesitate renting the room again for our next family/friend function. I would highly recommend the restaurant for parties or just a great dining experience. read more

We had my birthday dinner there on a Friday night. Not busy which was surprising. Last time we were there the food was great (maybe a year ago). This time it was mediocre. I had shrimp scampi and asked for extra garlic. The salad consisted of lettuce, one little cherry tomato and one slice of cucumber,that's it. My food was ok, but no garlic taste at all! My husband had veal parmigiana and it was again, ok. Not much flavor. He said that the tomato sauce was like from a jar. The service by the waitress was also very slow. The busboy was very good. We won't be going back for a very long time if ever. read more

This place is great! Make sure to get the bread because it is FANTASTIC. Their Italian Wedding Soup is to die for, too. Other suggestions are the crab cakes and the shrimp marinara. Very happy with the food and the service. We've been many times and the only difficult thing is deciding what to pick for dinner. Even if you just get angel hair pasta and meatballs it was still delicious. We did have to wait to order, wait for water and to order dessert as they were very busy the last time we were there but......
