The saga continues! Repair completed and we picked up the camper and paid the bill and dashed home to pack for vacation! We inspected the work and reviewed the bill. Well, you already expect something is amiss. We were charged for work that was not done! I will say that after a call they sent us a refund for that, just over $170.00! Yeah!!! Now on the road.....our first night out the repair they had "completed" leaked more than before they fixed it! I wanted to take it back after our trip and have them fix it or return our money but my husband said he will do the repair himself! We strongly suggest you take your business elsewhere, this has been an expensive nightmare that definitely could have been avoided if people had more pride and higher work ethic and probably a bit more supervision! read more

Very disappointed in the inventory of diesel pusher onsite. The used models were disputing and the new models were limited to one length. One used model smelled like dos and cigarettes. Will definitely search elsewhere for a new diesel pusher. read more

I purchased a used toy hauler from this place. So unhappy. They kept me held up in the store for hours. I had an appointment so I had to leave they were suppose to get the rest of the paper work ready and the camper ready for when I returned the next day. Out of site out of mind. They did nothing. We did the walk through and they assured me everything worked. I should of had them show me. My mistake. They were suppose to repaired some simple items. Like the track for the 3 season slider. They said it was on back order. After waiting 3 months I went to the local hardware store and bought what I needed and repaired my self. As a matter of fact they haven't repaired anything. I have had to repair my self. I had it in for repairs to the black tank which they never completed. the Inverter doesn't always work. I am trying a different company to see if they can get it to work correctly. After reading more reviews about this company I would avoid them all. read more

Our 5th wheel was towed to Camping World New Years Eve with a seized bearing. We got it back 24 days later! We had to stay in a tent for 24 days! New axle needed (according to them) $2,100! The assistant service manager had to get involved when I picked it up because they damaged my RV by jack knifing! He made out the report and didn't apologize, or even acknowledge me!! I would stay away! Camping World prices are about 2 cents under highway robbery. There isn't anything in the Campers World Store that can't be bought at Amazon or other places at 30 to 40% cheaper. I have to be honest, I was really looking forward to this experience since it has been said that camping world is Marcus Lemonis baby and he is the profit on tv. Bought used RV, took to Gander for diagnosis and service. Gander charged me hundreds of dollars for hours of labor they did not perform. For example, RV refrigerator was not working. Service tech opened one panel, looked, and decided there was a coolant leak. Spent less than 5 minutes assessing the issue, charged me for an hour of labor. I requested generator service. They charged me hundreds of dollars, generator does not work. I will not go back to Gander. read more

I have to say after all the bad reviews I feel the need to share my experience. I wasn't going to purchase from here based on all the negative issues other people have had with them. However, driving by on my way home from work I noticed a unit they had that I just needed to see! I went in and worked with Denny. Very nice guy. Took lots of time determining what exactly I was looking for. Including options I shared with him from other dealerships. Finally he took me in to see the Allegro Bay I saw from the road. I loved it! Since I was still in the process of the sale of my home I did not purchase that day. During the next week and a half, Denny and I talked back and forth about options. We started to put together a offer. But until the sale was finalized on my home we could not move forward. Well finally it was time to make a deposit I had a clear to close. So I stopped by and told Denny also letting him know there was one other I really liked at another dealer. He asked me to tell him about it. By the end of the conversation it was clear that the one at the other dealership was the better one for me. And the better buy. I'm greatful for the honesty of this salesman. He really cared about my well being and what was best for me. I did not purchase from him. He lost that sale. but I do recommend anyone else going to see him. I appreciate your honesty and treating me like family instead of just a salesman! The only reason for 4 stars is the day I brought my family and the RV inspector to see the unit. It was 95 outside and my dad was with me. There was no adapter to plug the unit in and turn on the air. I turned on the generator and air still did not work. My 80 year old dad got sick from sitting out in the heat waiting. When they knew we were coming and maybe should have made sure it was ready for us. read more

We came in to purchase a washer and dryer for out Class A Motorhome. We were greeeted immediately and told who we needed to talk with. In less than 1/2 hour we had talked with Toni, the manager of the store, gotten a quote for the washer & dryer, accepted the quote, and got the install scheduled. Everyone was very professional. When we came back to have it installed we got the same professionalism from all employees. We have dealt with other Gander RV centers and this is by far the best. They really care about the customers needs. We worked with Toni, Frank and Billy and the new manager of the store along with a couple of other very nice ladies in the service department. If Frank wasn't availabe someone would help us. Also the service person was extremely helpful as we had some problem that our home store had not addressed. He helped us and we got everything solved. Definitely recommend this store. read more

We bought a class A rv from bartow camping world on November 2017. On the purchase day the rv walk thru seemed great but as soon as we were ready to head home they said it had an issue with the slide out so to wait a while for that to be repaired. We waited a few hours and then we're told the issue can't be fixed to head home and they would drop it off to us. Since then we found multiple issues with the RV and have brought it back to service for these items to be repaired. The first time we brought it in we got a call that everything was fixed (we purchased extended warranty so they were paid thru warranty). Once we got there to pick up the rv we realized right away that one thing wasn't fixed so they ran the rv back and fixed that one issue while we had to wait a few hours AGAIN. Unfortunately we didn't check the rest of the items we had left to be repaired and felt trusted that they had been fixed as promised, so we headed home on a 4 hour trip. When we arrived at home we realized that none of the items were fixed so once we were able to we brought the rv back into service. This time we dealt with the service manager prior to heading back who promised everything would be taken care of this time. We dropped the rv off again. The drop off consist of a 4 hour drive to camping world and a 4 hour drive back home. After the rv was ready we received a call that everything was fixed and to come pick it up. Now here we are again after another 4 hour drive and another rental car plus gas and time wasted to find out nothing has been fixed! This time we went ahead and made sure to check every single item we asked to have repaired (which has been paid now thru warranty for the second time) to find out that NOTHING has been done again. They just went ahead and took the rv back AGAIN and here we are waiting a few hours AGAIN. I would not recommend this camping world to anyone!! read more

The service department is deplorable! incompetent, and worse, they lie & make excuses. Root problem is service mgr (Joe, is his name, I think). I won't bore you with the simple service we needed..but we scheduled to drop off this morning. Three separate conversations. We arrive, we are not "on the schedule" for today. Oh wait, it was yesterday.. Oh no, today. We leave vehicle, get down the road & cell rings. Pick it back up, we can't do for 2 more days. Downhill from there pointing fingers at each other..then us. WTH?? However, Jonathan is an outstanding, customer service oriented person. Too bad the inept service department overrides his competence, & we have taken our business elsewhere. Spoiler Alert: sales ok however you should do the service yourself. We were able to look at a lot of models and take our time to look and compare. We had an appointment to pick up our brand new RV but there were several issues that weren't correct/working so we had to make another trip back. We are about an hour away. Not horrible but disappointing. On our 2nd overnight camping trip, the sink leaked into a drawer. We took a picture to help the service department solve this warranty issue. We called for an appointment to fix the leak and got one 10 days later. We were asked if we wanted to drop it off and we said yes not knowing this meant they would not look at it for 3 weeks while it sat in their lot. The service person was able to get a tech to look at it that same day and from there nothing moved quickly. 5 weeks later they called to say they had the part. The store manager told us that since we had such a negative experience there, he would see to it that we would be in and out within 48 hours and he would wait for us if we could only get there after hours. When we emailed for an appointment, he did not respond. Still hasn't emailed back a month later. A phone call went to voice mail and at the day's end, a service person called to see if we wanted an appointment. Since we wanted to use the unit, my husband spent about $10 at Home Depot for parts and an hour of his time to fix the leak. We will not go back for any reason all. The now Gander of Bartow lost our business for a $10 part. read more

I bought my camper back in January in the process was pretty good. The only hiccup was that they were guy that does the walk-through was not available so we never got a proper walk-through. A month later I went on my maiden voyage with my camper and the AC didn't work. So we brought it in to get it fixed. A month goes by and we don't hear anything so we reach out to them and they tell us the part won't be in for another couple weeks. Another month goes by and we don't hear from them, so we called them and they say the part will be here in another few weeks. Then they go on to tell us that this is going to cost us. First of all, I have a full warranty on the camper, and the AC never worked on a brand new camper. Something like this should be covered especially after waiting three months with no camper. At the end of the day, I wound up picking up my camper and not even getting it fixed because of the service at this location. Horriblehorrible service. read more

Well as you can see from my prior reviews I am still disappointed in Camping World Tampa and Bartow. Neither place could or can fix rv's in my book. They do nothing but lye to you and make you buy and purchase crap that is not needed or even replaced on the vehicle. Such as Tampa told me they had rebuilt the front end on a class c that we purchased there and it was never done. Wheels to be balanced, not. They were to replace the transfer switch on the generator was never done until it was taken back the second time. Generator leaking gas, fixed? Not on your life. It has been worked on maybe 6 times from tighten lines, to replacing the carburetor $200. or $300 dollars. Still leaks gas but your extended warranty does not include gas leaks. It has been leaking since we bought it. Bartow was the last to work on it. Bartow fixed the back up camera that was built into the stereo system by putting another camera on the rear and hooking it up to the light switch so you have to turn on the lights in order to use it. All the while unhooking the over head lite in the bed room. Go figure that. They used the excuse that the stereo was no longer available, and I found it on Amazon. They did fix the toilet and replace the awning. The batteries were needing to be replaced because they were not holding a charge. The house battery was just replaced my me 2 days before we took it down to Bartow. I told them to check the inverter and the A/C unit because it had an electrical draw or pull down and it was burning the end of the male plug in. I have to say they wanted me to buy batteries for the house and coach because they also according to them they were bad and needed replacing. I took this unit there in Oct. went to pick it up in Jan. and it was not ready even after they called and told me it was. Finally in Feb. drove it back here. Oh my front end Bartow was suppose to have rebuilt, but had to take the coach to truck shop to get it aligned and wheels balanced. Good job McGee's tire in Dundee. Went to Camping World twice to buy a new motorhome. Couldn't find a salesman no matter what. Spent an hour and a half walking the lot and nobody ever came out. Had many drive by me on golf carts but no stops. Amazing. Another big problem was that they do not put the price on their motorhomes. you have no method to compare. Instead I went to RV World in Lakeland and bought a 2017 Coachman Freelander. I would not recommend this place to anyone. They just don't care if they sell any motorhomes. read more

Never will I ever set foot in here again! Took our camper for repair, the service dept was a joke. My RV was there for 6 weeks to have water tank replaced. There is a grey water tank and a fresh water tank it was the fresh tank! They were searching for the grey tank parts for 5 weeks. Even with VIN # and diagram with dimensions! Ok they got their head out of their ass and finally figured why they could not find a replacement and SO NOW they can contact the claim adjuster. Not sure why he couldn't have came and gave his declination while searching for parts!! After we were told by the adjuster it was not a warranty covered issue and would cost about $3000 due to hourly labor we would just deal with it on our own. There was a cracked pipe on the grey tank so ok fix it since it has been here for 6 weeks! That cost over $800 mostly labor again! $30.00 parts $115.00 shop fee, fee for what? We had even inquired as to how much a new awning would cost but never got a price quote on that because they were to busy trying to stick it in us and break it off! Maybe we have a little more leisure time than some but this was just a blatant lack of pride in customer service as our time is valuable too! We contacted them via the internet and got an immediate reply and then one of their customer care coordinators called us. He was unprofessional, immature and ridiculed us for having a Kia Soul. We have done our research online and a Kia Soul can tow up to 2000# with 200# on the hitch. He asked what kind of lawn mower engine we had in the car and ridiculous questions about the hitch. After this experience, we would never recommend this business to anyone, especially anyone needing informative answers. read more

My mother just passed so I talked to my dad about hitting the road like he had thought about. He just purchased a 2017 Thor retailing over 120,000. On the trip home the steering wheel is 25% off center, the pipes have no teflon tape on them and leak, the water tank leaks, the jacks/self leveling is broken, the list goes on for this brand new motor home. But are you CAMPING WORLD doing anything to accommodate my father or rectify this? Yes you explained to him on the phone the alignment was straight but when you set the motor home back down it twist the steering wheel. Are you kidding me!! The list goes on, this has been the worst 120,000+ purchase we have ever experienced. I have made purchases for less money were they take you in a private room and bring you samples of wood and leather. You truely are some very unprofessional business people. This is without a doubt the worst camping world I have ever been in. I live less than 20 miles from this store and drive to Tampa o avoid it. I stopped in to get some parts, i didn't have the model # of my gen which was my fault, but was told to call with the #'s and they would check and call me back. I called back left the # on voicemail at about 11 am it is now 445 pm no call back have already been to Tampa and got the parts. This is standard operating procedures for them. This is about the third or fourth time this has happened. They are obviously not that busy you can drive by and tell that. I will not go back for any reason. read more

Terrible........We purchased our camper in August and it has been at Camping World for warranty issues more than we have had it to use it. They tell us they are waiting for parts or the part came in and it is wrong so they have to order another part. This is so frustrating we would like to use it. I would not purchase from them their service department is terrible. My husband and I are very disappointed with Camping World. We were so excited when we purchased it and loved camping the few times we were able to use it. I own a 2016 Hideout 242LHS. I have owned it about (1) year. I purchased it at Camping World of Bartow, Fl. I have not had it in for warranty work until 1-2-2018. I have corrected all problems with the unit myself, but I decided to visit the service center due to a big issue. The issue is that I had a flat tire on 12-24-2017 at about 1600 hours. I took off the flat tire and began to put the spare tire on the unit, but it was a (6) lug wheel and my unit has a (5) lug hub therefore, my spare did not fit. I called the Roadside Assistance offered through GoodSam (Camping World), but was advised that it was Christmas Eve and a major inconvenience. I was able to buy a spare that fit at a nearby Walmart. I decided to take the coach to Camping World on 1-2-2018 and report that the spare did not fit, along with several small issues. The girl at the service desk continued to ask me if I had an appointment. I said that I was a GoodSam member and was told I did not need an appointment and that members come first. I also said that I needed to purchase a tire, but was once again told that I needed an appointment. I asked the service writer how could anyone predict when they would need a tire replaced. I left the service desk and spoke with the salesman that worked with me to purchase the camper and was told that she did not have any pull in that department. I requested she speak to a manager to assist me. She entered an office and spoke to him and sis so quietly therefore, I could not hear them. Once she was finished speaking to him he told me that he would get someone to assist me. A few moments later a technician approached me and assisted me. He escorted me outside to my unit. He then began photographing and said that the photographs will be forwarded to the factory for warranty approval. The issues are as follows: (8) way plug does not work all the time as if is has a short, the slide out bottom trim is bowed out because a screw is in the insulation rather than the wood, the kitchen exhaust vent is missing the flap on the outside, the LED light strip under the awning burnt out and made a scorch mark on the unit and only half works, the rear kitchen hatch door lock is missing the cam (locking arm) and has been since I bought the unit. Camping world replaced the spare, but told me that it was put on at the factory and they would only put the correct one on as a courtesy. The technician then took my truck and camper to the back to find a spare tire. About an hour later, the technician came back and said that the spare tire was replaced. He also said that the (8) way plug was checked and nothing was wrong and was working properly. He also told me that my truck would not start and had to hit the starter to get it to start. My truck is a 2016 Chevy 2500. I asked him who advised him that he could hit my starter and all he said was that my dad has the same truck and frequently has to hit the starter to start the truck. I have never had an issue starting the truck. The camper also was missing the rear light cover, and when I questioned him about it, he said it was missing when I came in. It may have, but I do not remember it missing when we performed a walk around while he photographed. Camping World advised me that they photographed the items that need fixing/replaced and said that the photographs will be sent to the factory. Camping World said that if approved I can comeback so corrections can be made. I provided them with a copy of the receipt for the spare tire and rim I had to buy and asked for reimbursement. I was told that the General Manager would have to make that determination, but he was not there. They would not tell me when he was scheduled next to work, but they would facilitate a phone call from him to me. When I purchased the coach everyone was extremely helpful, but not when it needs fixed. I will not be returning to Camping World as they do not care about customer retention. First and last camper I will ever buy from them. Wish I could leave a (0) rating. read more

What a truly bad experience.....Bought a new Forest River Flagstaff on 03/31/2017 at Camping World in Bartow, Florida. Was in IL two days later. The temp dropped to 26 degrees and the heater quit. Spent a total of 9 hours of our vacation at service centers with no corrections to the problem. The oven has never worked, the top bunk has dropped/came loose from the wall, the pocket door is stuck between the walls, the slide out in the main bedroom has no bottom seal, my counter extender broke off, the whole house stereo just comes on on its own. The worst was when the black tank dropped out of the bottom of the camper. Thank GOD it was sitting on a lot site. It took 4 months to get that repaired and the whole time we smelled the sewage waste and it dripped out of the unit. Now I am trying to get them to replace the POS unit we bought and the are offering me 1/2 of what we paid. Marcus Lemonis needs to step up and help us with this issue. read more

So after my initial review of camping world of Bartow, I was cntactf by their corporate Branding Manager. I was assured that my RV which had been on the lot waiting on repairs would be ready for pickup. When we arrived, the kitchen sink had a gushng leak...really? We brought it in for a hot water hatet repair and no one ran the water in the kitchen sink to check that it got hot? If they had the leak would have been evident. So we left it there for three more days only to come back and find it had still good dhng water and flooding the storage compartments. So once again no one had checked the leak. "They fixed what they thought might be broken." So it turns out we need a gray water tank and fitting as it broke somehow during the two months it was in this RV lot. As of today no one has called us to acknowledge the inconvenience or incompetency of this RV shop ..we r still waiting on the GM to contact us as promised. We won't hold our breath! Safe to say..save yourself the aggravation and frustration of dealing with unprofessional,inconsiderate incompetent staff and management. Do not buy from Camping World of Bartow and dnot use them for your RV repairs. Seems even if you contact their corporate people ..no one really truly cares about getting you back on the road. Went into Camping World just shopping for an RV. We are aware of their reputation so had no plans to buy. Well we bought one mostly because the rep said all would be fixed before we left the lot. We had to return 3 times to get them all done, they kept "forgetting".Well, it isn't right to mention him by name so I won't mention Jeff's name. He stepped in & did some of the work himself saying it was just faster to do it himself, (isn't his job.) The salesman was nice but knew nothing about an RV. Jeff is an RVer so we could shop talk. WORST PLACE EVER.. If I could give them negative starts I would.. My RV has been here on and off for over 5 years to fix the same issue.. While in their possession I have had items broken and not mentioned at pick up hoping I wouldn't notice, items stolen from locked compartments and have been treated very disrespectful by the service manager and newest GM at this location. They have a high turnover so I have dealt with many service managers and GM.. If your looking for a place that won't fix your RV, a place where you can guarantee your RV all never be ready to use and where you can be treated horrible this is the place for you. read more

Just purchased a Class C motorhome from this dealership. Michael in sales was nice, Jeff did a great job on the walk through and Brenda was very helpful in the store. The financing with TJ was horrible. Just about lost the sale. Whatever you do make sure you don't deal with TJ. He was rigid, VERY rude and condescending. Price was about $500 over what we had agreed to after hours of dealing with the salesman. Turned out we were misquoted on tax and not at all on doc stamps. He stated there was absolutely nothing he could do to which I stated we could walk out. He said he could walk out too!!!! WOW!!! Then during the upsale on the warranties we stated we weren't interested to which he replied that we should let him explain something to us that we "know NOTHING about". REALLY!! I walked out and my husband states it got worse!!!! Too bad what had started out as an exciting purchase turned into such an unpleasant experience. read more

NEVER BUY FROM HERE!!!! Bought a brand new 31 foot Keystone Premier ultra light trailer here April, 2015. First trip out, the air conditioner broke. Took it back told them I needed it by the first week in June. Picked it up and air worked fine, they said they replaced the main unit. While it was there I spent another $1800 to have a second unit put in it just in case. Got to my destination and the inverter went out. Spent all month charging the battery!! Took it to camping world Ft. Myers, dropped it of for a MONTH and they finally fixed the inverter. Go camping October 8th and the main air goes out. Find out they only charged the air did not replace the unit. Take it back to Bartow Camping World to get it fixed, told them I needed it by November 6th, Had to go pick it up with the main AC still not working. HERE IS THE PART THAT REALLY PISSED ME OFF!! While it was there, one of the service guys must have needed a gas piston from my outdoor kitchen hatch for another unit. I get to the campground and had to prop it open cause they did not replace it!!! So off it goes to be fixed again!! read more
