Quality/Quantity - I am surprised and a little worried that this place has such low Yelp ratings?!?! My review is only based on my RV shopping experience. Now that prices have finally come back down to earth, we are shopping for a class B RV; new or used. I am very flexible and we already have our plans laid out. Even for our first 2 road trips. Limited selections on hand, see pictures. But because Camping World is such a large company, they were able to find one that fit our needs in San Jose, CA. But because of the low price, they are not able to ship it to NV... It was 2 years new for a very reasonable price. $102k. FYI - They also try to sell many packages and services that we might never need. Atmosphere - Decent size location, but very limited class B on hand. Larger sales office than expected. There is a parts store also, but I did not visit it. Open 7 days a week from 9am or 10am to 6, 7 or 8pm. See Yelp or their website. Plenty of guest parking. Service - Good, Stephanie was very professional. And as sales people, they followed up daily, almost hourly, lol. Both their NV and SJ, CA offices followed up. Price - $102K, reasonable price for a new Class B RV. Owner Comment - Congrats to Camping World's success since 1966 and Marcus Lemonis's success. We bought a new washer for our LondonAire motorhome after our old washer died. We were staying at Lake Tahoe and drove to Camping World in Reno for the installation. We paid a fair price and the job was done in a few hours while we went to see a movie. Staff were friendly and helpful and our new washer works perfectly! read more

i've bought an RV at camping world in Reno. search March 26 of this year all they told me it will take about three months to get your license plate and registration tags call OK it's been too kind of hard to believe that would take this I'm disappointed in camping world. I should've already gotten when manager went to California to have it I used to live there but all I'm saying is I should've had my license plate and registration tags already long. As a senior widow camping in the area I discovered that my surge protector had melted and also ruined my electric cord. I purchased another set from camping world and Scott took the time to measure my cord and recommend replacements. The real treasure was the service department - Travis asked a technician to help me and Farish (sp?) not only checked my fuses but also hooked up my new purchases to ensure that everything worked properly. I took my rig into the Reno,NV store for repairs. I had a private electrician find the problem at a reset switch. Talking with the service writer I relayed this and he said he'd have to have his people look at it. Guess being a woman I don't have a clue. After 3 weeks there it was repaired. The service writer said the switch was fine but had to replace a couple of wires and a fuse. Turns out all the mechanic did was bypass the switch. When I picked up the rig I found all the outer comparment doors in the unlocked position even the propane tank compartments. If you call the service department don't expect to get a return call and you'll never to talk to them on the phone no matter when you call. We visited this location twice during our travels into the Los Angeles area. And for some reason, I always like to go into this spot even though it's a smaller one. The customer service from the front counter is always inviting and patient and helpful. We always seem to find a few items when visiting here as well too. They also have a small little section for clearance or lower price items. There is always space space for parking and sometimes they have small events happening in their parking lot as well. Inside of the far corner of the location there is also a service desk. But overall, if you're seeking to just get the basics for your RV and not looking for large furniture or things of that nature then this could be a good spot to stop in and check out read more

At all cost, avoid this place. The world is too full of liars and the deck is stacked against you in this place. I'm talking about they don't even bother trying to hide the lies, and they rip you off right to your face. Do not sign any "As is" document! Even if they have promised to fix things, they might fix one or two things, but the rest is just a bunch of empty promises when they sell you any equipment. I was promised some minor repairs when we bought a new keystone cougar it's now been 2 months, they don't have the parts, they're rude and could really care less about you when the purchase has been made. We purchased a portable holding tank and it was rather heavy without anything in it. We thought would be great to pull to the dump station with the truck but, too heavy for us to handle. We did not even open the box. Returned to the Reno store and requested a refund check. (You have a choice of a gift card or check that comes from the Corp office.) This was requested and told 7-10 days we would receive our refund check. However, 15 days later, they JUST cut the check and said we should receive in 7-10 days after we called 3 times to get and ETA on this check. VERY VERY POOR SERVICE when it comes to refunds. So, if you need to return an item, beware it will take some time and calling because they do not return your call or email you the status. WHY can't a refund be processed from the store your purchased or returned? Marcus, Get with the program. You have just lost a customer. read more

Just because we are lower cost trailer doesn't mean we should be treated with less respect. They had our trailer for a month and only managed to do 2 of the approved repairs. As Jesse put it "sorry to break it to you, but this is just the standard of industry". Then this is a shit industry and you're better off taking your trailer to a general mechanic than a trailer mechanic. The 1 star reviews are all fair. They didnt have THIS many negative reviews when we went in this summer. Look at the dates, they are current reviews. They told us NUMEROUS things were non functioning and thats simply not true. I had one need bringing my 1976 trailer in - safety. SAFETY. Jesse and Camping World failed to give me that. Camping World is NOT suited for repairs nor are they trustworthy. They are a store that robs you under the guise of having a service department. Jesse is poorly informed on his field and offers a ton of lip service but no service. They didnt install new light bulbs because they didnt stock the kind we needed at THEIR store. The actual mechanic kindly told us to grab the lightbulbs around the corner at an auto shop. He tried to and they wouldnt let him. They didn't install our break away switch because Camping World doesn't stock it. Rather than saying this, Jesse says "he's on the hunt" for a switch only to learn they were merely going to order one from Amazon. There was no "hunt" needed. They didn't ever do it despite me waiting a week past our initial pick up date. We were told for FOUR WEEKS that we needed a breakaway switch, we approved installing one for FOUR WEEKS, and they gave us the run around pretending like it was some hard to find part... they were only ever going to order it from Amazon. As I was being gaslit and taking my trailer home because they "couldnt get the work done on time", he lied saying he talked to me on the phone when we were only emailing because I was never able to get him on the phone. Giving me BS about being willing to "overnight a part" if I could wait just 2 more days. I asked if that was my only option, and that it would mess a lot up if I had to pick it up later. He simply replied "ok come pick it up Tuesday" without indicating he wouldn't do the repair in time for my pick up. I agreed to list of approved repairs from their laundry list and out of the list he managed to get two done. The ONLY repairs were breaks and a shoddy job of ripping out the black tank. Paid for an expensive tire and wheel pack service and they did not even manage to fill my tires. They didnt take the rocks out from behind my rims and it still rattled with rocks rolling around behind the rims as we towed it out. What else did they say they would do and didnt? They said they would remove the 1970's propane tanks and dispose of them and just never got around to it. I regret having them rip out the black tank after learning how unreliable everything they said to me was. Here are things they said that was broken that we have since learned were not: "12 volt system doesn't work - not even on their demo battery they hooked to." - We bought a new battery and it works fine. "Lights and outlets dont work" - We have been using the outlets and lights consistently both the ones that work on battery power and shore power almost daily for 4 months now. "back lights don't work." - We simply tightened the bulb and they worked. "Your propane lines are all disconnected" - They are not. "Fridge doesnt work" - our fridge is FANTASTIC and functioning After they had our trailer for over a month we left with no breakaway switch, no functioning back lights, and left high and dry on my ONLY ask which was to leave with a SAFE trailer. Slimy business. Slimy sales men who know NOTHING about trailers. RUN from this business. Jesse made me cry, sent me home with an unsafe trailer, and took thousands of dollars for a 45 point inspection and wheel work that wasnt even done. Oh, thanks, Jesse for removing the several hundred dollars of "shop fees for towels and nuts and bolts" Glad we got the bill in our hands prior to telling you what bullshit your work is. read more

Saw an ad online that Camping World buys used RVs. Talked with Alex online and on the phone. My RV is only 4 years old and barely used. He lead me to believe I could get a fair price but after bringing it all the way to the dealership, they offered me almost $6k less than he lead me to believe they would buy it for. Now I understand the whole haggling deal and I was fully prepared to come down maybe a couple thousand $$$, but as I told him to his face "that was an insult!" In my opinion from the way he and his chicken shit manager treated me, Camping World is not a fair or reputable business! Bunch of gawd dam used car salesmen looking to take advantage of people. Made an appointment for this location on their online system only to show up and be fed some line of BS that the online system isn't connected to the service department. Then was told it would be 3 weeks till it could be looked at. That was fine with me but was then instructed that he must complete 5 other tasks until he was able to perform a check In and that I could wait around till he was done. Mindy will lie through her teeth and unless you have viable proof. like a video recording of promised items. if you get a thorough walk through on your trailer ask for Josh. he was awesome. check everything. Cooper promised to fix many things and did not follow through. the tool to drop the jacks was taken out after the walk through. there is a 2000$ cost for cleaning and walk through. watch out they will forget everything (unless you get josh). tell them to slow down so you can record all of it. if you are buying a used trailer, check for extras from previous owner and record that they are there or they will be stolen. I got everything back except the pots and pans. the lady that helped to pick out free items that are needed was helpful and understanding. Nobody seems to know what they are doing here. They wasted over two hours of our time after I had asked ahead of time with the sales guy about our trade situation. He assured me yes, yes it's ok but turns out it wasn't after we spent a lot of time looking, researching etc. The sales people don't seem to have any actual product knowledge, don't show any features etc. A close friend has purchased from here and has had terrible after sales support also. We were greeted and welcomed by the general manager. He was very accommodating since we don't know anything about RV's and camping stuff. He referred us to a wonderful agent named Greg. He toured us around and explained thoroughly what it takes to own an RV. They are not pushy for you to buy something from them. Greg ensures that buying an RV is good for you and your family regardless whether he's going to sell to you or not. He spent about an hour going through and showing us different models in the lot. Camping World in Reno using deceptive sales tactics. Made the mistake of contacting them before reading reviews--big mistake. Don't deal with Dilip whatever you do, and I would take a hard pass on this Camping World altogether. We were interested in a Jayco North Point 377RLBH they had listed for $81,999 and they setup a virtual tool for us. Afterwards the salesman was telling me to make an offer if I liked it. I did, with our paid-off trade (we also bought from Camping World), then they came back with a price sheet listing the RV for $96,999. The salesman was off the next day and I got a follow-up from Tori who seemed very nice and said she saw the RV on their lot priced at 81,999. I said I was interested in that one, but the price sheet I got was for a lot higher price. I attached the price sheet to the text thread at that point and she said at that point she'd get with Dilip and have him reach out to me. Then he reached out today and said they have other units available. Not sure if we're being discriminated against (my wife is black and we did have video on for the tour), or if there is something else deceptive going on, but these types of bait-and-switch tactics is something I usually see from shady used car dealers or backwater RV lots selling used RVs. Thanks for your time reading this. I hope other customers don't run into this same issue, as I usually have a great experience from Camping World and this isn't the norm for me. I thought car salesmen were slimy but these guys just upstaged them. The poor reviews on here are absolutely accurate. They used a classic predatory "if you sign today" pressurized sales tactic and I spent HOURS negotiating an agreed upon price before they ran a credit inquiry. Then SURPRISE! They promptly redacted their bargain and offered a higher selling price. Several different people would contact me and it was evident they never communicate with one another which was annoying because I would have to repeat myself. When I was fed up and confronted the general manager, Phil, to iron out the deal he insinuated I was liar "because that's not how they do business" and then left the room. Just stood up and left me with my jaw on the floor. He didn't even give me the courtesy to respond. So here it is: Phil, you're a miserable and arrogant wiener and you are not getting my money! This is why I wish that Recall Service for easy items could be fixed by the customer. Took in for propane regulator recall, a week later going to winterize so I wanted to turn my heater on to stay warm inside and discovered this on both propane tanks. If it was a more expensive recall I may have scheduled them to fix their work, but the gas spent taking another trip isn't worth the cost of the parts. I just wish there was some QA performed before service department releases back to customer. I was not offered to go over the work completed, but in hindsight should have looked before I left the lot. read more

I went into the parts store to get a Dometic toilet ball seal. I figured it would cost $15 bucks. They charged $58.00!!!! Unfortunately I had to pay it because we were camping this weekend. When I got home, I went to Amazon and found two seals for the Dometic 320 toilet for $10.98 delivered to my front door. Camping World is just ripping people off in such a bad way, they don't really care about their customers or they wouldn't charge such outrageous prices. Incidentally when I asked the parts person why it cost so much he just said, so you know there's supply chain problems. Apparently Amazon didn't get the message, I ordered some backups from Amazon and they arrived in two days. read more

Honestly I am beyond frustrated. August 10th I bought a 2019 keystone outback 324CG from the Reno Nevada branch. While purchasing the trailer I was ensured multiple times that the techs had ran thru it. Did a multi point inspection and checked everything. My trailer was delivered to me in September after camping world told me that had went back thru it, I now know that is a complete lie. Upon receiving my trailer and hooking up water for the first time I instantly had a leak at the docking station. After fixing my leak (due to nobody wanting to get back to me at the Reno branch) I turned on my hot water only to find there was no pressure. Due to not having any pressure I went to the flush valve on my hot water heater and released it. Once released my hot water heater flushed what appeared to be years of sediment. This is extremely frustrating due to the fact that I was told at least 3 times that they had went thru it and checked everything out. This is unacceptable. It's honestly embarrassing. read more

The Camping World store didn't have the item. The second visit, at least greeted (different employee), didn't have the items. Items I was looking for: pin lock for the 5th wheel and an item for tire changes. Back to Amazon. This store is poorly stocked. That said, I wonder what actual service is like. First impressions... You just need to look it up, unless this is just an auto generated response. Thanks for responding back (I guess). But, let me add. I'm a Good Sam member and Amazon seems to be the ticket. These were simple items I would expect a dealer to have in stock considering their lot is full of 5th wheels. No big deal. Other sources out there. That said, it does dictate what you can expect as get deep into sales and service. Went here for a portable propane fire pit and what they had on their website matched what they had in inventory. The price though, was dependent on being a part of their club that costs money to join. I don't have an RV so it doesn't make sense for me to be a part of the club, but my family and I really wanted a portable fire pit to make up for not being able to have our real fire pit with all the winds in Reno. We have used it to entertain and will use it when camping if there are restrictions. The staff was very helpful and polite. read more

I purchased my RV from camping world Vacaville, CA. Paid way to much for it. Our first trip out with it the wall on the inside started pushing out by wind as we drove, there was and still is a leak in the back of the RV, the toilet was broken, there's a horrible smell coming from the toilet, there's water damage though out the master bedroom floor. When asked to fix this since I was stupid enough to buy the full coverage they have ignored me and been completely unhelpful. We took the RV to Reno camping world and they took photos and sent the full report to Vacaville to have them fix it. Nothing from them since. We are now trying to do the fixes at home on our own.. still no communication from them. They have been completely unhelpful. Steer clear of doing anything with them! They are awful. We were passing through on our way from the coast, to Utah this past week, and had an issue develop with our 5th wheel hitch. We called to see if they could help us. They took our number and then called back fairly quickly. Told us to ask for Parrish, he'd take a look at it. We drove right over and Parrish was able to fix it within a few minutes, no charge and sent us on our way! The fix took care of the problem and it's been great since. Thank you! read more

Last week I purchased two Onan generators, $1600.00, got them home and one would not start, the other one was great. So I returned to the Camping World in Reno, Nevada, where I bought them to get an exchange, they claimed that they could do nothing to help me and I had to contact the manufacturer. Needless to say I was quite upset. The manager could have cared less about about my situation. All I can say is DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS, there willing to take your money and that's about it. I am in the customer service business as I have been selling cars for over 30 years. I work for a dealership that cares about there customers. This place does not. I purchased a 2020 trailer from Camping World Reno in early July. The sales process was fine. It even started with the salesman telling me that the owner would not be happy unless I was. He must be a very unhappy person. Nine days after purchasing it the air conditioner went out. I was told by the general manager that because I didn't purchase an extra warranty I would be out of luck. I had tried to contact someone there several times. It seems the messages were not given. The title clerk ignored my calls and emails. It seems the $1,495 the cha to inspect it didn't fine out about about the leak in the roof, or the window shades not being repaired. It has been a nightmare dealing with these folks. The shady finance guy was one thing I expected. But I thought the RV would at least work. Currently the light panels in the back half of the RV don't work. They sold me the RV without a front door key. 6 weeeks later I still don't have working lights and no front door key. I've been patiently waiting. Today I reached out to Tim their customer service guy I guess. It turned into an arguement when I suggested that 6 weeks is WAY too long to wait for a front door key and working lights. After that it just descended into it's all my fault. When I told him I'd come down to argue about it he threatened me with the police. I would avoid these guys unless you're ok with terrible customer service. I brought my trailer in for repairs on the plumbing system. they only fixed half of what was wrong. I didn't discover their incompetence until I was three hundred miles away in the middle of nowhere. I took it back to be fixed again. They cut my bottom pan to access the plumbing. they only used a couple of screws to hold it back in place. by the time I got home half of it was hanging off and dragging on the ground. I have never seen such horrible craftsmanship in my life. what a joke. read more

By far the worse single experience I've had to deal with anyone dealership of any kind. Took trailer for service, needed brakes (from what they said) and few other things. Tech said was bad speaker, it worked and check valve for black tank had been reverse while there. (Found that out while trying to dump it) Needed motor for slide out and got gearbox that is 5x mark up price. 2 different bills. When I picked up my trailer it was trashed. To top all off everything I needed done never got done because I took my trailer. There was no way I was taking it back. Still waiting on credit for gearbox. I visited Camping World in Reno NV. I was greeted by Chris he was so helpful and worked with us for hours and hours. Chris found the perfect RV/Camp trailer for us! The RV/Camp Trailer we fell in love with had already been sold, Big Disappointment! The Camping World employees searched the inventory in other locations and found the exact unit in Bend Oregon! We dropped off our Montana and were told two to three weeks and we would have it back... after several emails and calls we were told our RV was "in the shop" and top priority to be worked on/ completed. After two follow up calls to Jesse, the conversation didn't pass the smell test. After a phone conversation with Jesse on Friday June 23rd, I knew they were lying and our RV wasn't going to be completed. We drove up to Camping World on Monday, as soon as we turned the corner in to the service area we saw our RV "parked in the back" (what happened to inside the shop?). We looked at it and the RV had NOT BEEN worked on... it sat in service for three weeks and the only thing they did, they pulled back a cover to look at the slide motor.
