Service and ambiance at this location is fine, I have no compaints about the service or state of the resturant. The food quality has gone downhill. We had 2 pizzas, and pasta. Not a single one of us ate more than half our meals. Pizza and sauces were very bland. Not sure if it just this location or across the whole chain, but it was not even close to what I remembered from my last visits, which admittedly has been over a year. The pizza was on par with a major pizza buffet chain. I had to eat a few pieces before I could place it, but it hit me, then I could not eat anymore. First, let me share that we really like Campisi's. We enjoy the food, the ambiance, their cocktails and their service. Their Granite Park location has previously worked well for celebrating with our family including a three year old and a five year old. Unfortunately, after our last experience, I doubt we will be hosting future dinners at this restaurant. We chose this location for a post-kindergarten graduation/early Mother's Day luncheon at 12:30 on a Saturday. Mid-week, I made an online request for a reservation for our group of seven. There was no response to my request. I called the restaurant on Saturday morning to confirm that they could accommodate our group before we headed over and they had no record of my request. The restaurant was pretty empty upon arrival and while they had no clue who we were, they had a table of seven for our group and for one other unknown party of seven. No one seated us, they just pointed to the dining room and directed us to find a table that worked for us. We were also advised upon arrival that they were only offering counter service, so we served ourselves drinks and placed orders at a window by the kitchen. The other party of seven had arrived by this point along with additional diners so there was a room full of people and no wait staff. We were called up to the window to pick up our meals as they were prepared, so as a result, different people in our group were served at different times. The food was consistent with our previous visits: good but my chicken piccata was rubbery, same with the chicken parm. No one offered drinks or checked on our meal and no dessert was offered. We left and had gelato over on the boardwalk instead. This was not the celebratory meal that we had planned for our family. We could have received better service at Chili's or enjoyed a similar experience at Portillo's at a much lower price point. Since it was Mother's Day weekend, we were surprised and disappointed that the restaurant did not staff properly for a high-volume weekend. I generally leave positive reviews so I am giving three stars for food but subtracted two stars for "service". read more

Wow! Campisi's was the most pleasant surprise this weekend. Daughter wanted something Italian for her birthday and we ran across Campisis and just decided to give it a try. From the outside we didn't really know what to expect but the second we walked in we were blown away. Amazing service from Hostess to waiter, Joe was INCREDIBLE. The food was absolutely amazing. The calamari was delicious, the house salad that is served with most of the dishes is the best salad I've had in a very long time. Every dish was so good. The food was some of the worst I've ever had. The crab claws were just ok. Chicken Parmesan was burned and flavorless as was the marinara on the spaghetti. Thought I would try to salvage the dinner with dessert. Ordered the Italian cream cake. It tasted like chemicals. Cake was served cold. We were asked if we wanted strawberries on the cake. I assumed they would be fresh. Nope. More premade processed junk. It was all disgusting. No California Sauvignon Blanc, just New Zealand. Service was decent. I'll never go back. It was all just gross. Including the gnats that kept floating around our drinks and food. Ordered a pizza to go. Also disgusting and gross. Not sure how this place is still in business. What can I say that has not been said before? Not everything is perfect - but MOST are. The entire staff of always a cut above the rest. The highlight of Campisi's is their unique and signature Pizza. Thin and crispy to be sure - but certainly not a cracker crust. Very distinctive and truly enjoyable. We love it here! I have no idea why this place has as little starts as it does...we love it! First off, you can come here dressed up or down and feel like you fit in! The atmosphere is great. We love it here. Not to mention, the food comes out FAST and HOT! It's PERFECT for a hangry girl like myself. ;) Not to mention, it's delicious. We weren't willing to wait an HOUR to eat at Haywire, so we (excitedly) bailed and came straight to our favorite spot -- Campisi's! Such a happy accident. The drink menu is large and the Riesling was delicious. Definitely hit the spot. There is outdoor dining, indoor dining, large booths, and even a more casual bar area separated from the more formal area. Please come support a family owned, affordable, delicious institution! Salad was swimming in tasteless liquid (water, not dressing?) and some of the lettuce was brown. Lasagna was about 1/2 as deep as other locations with no meat inside and very little cheese. Mostly a 1" pile of noodles with very thin red sauce. As a childhood favorite, I was grossly disappointed. I guess the franchises don't feel they have to maintain any standards. Even though we had to order at the counter, we discovered the entire meal was self-serve, including refilling our drinks and getting to go boxes. I have been a patron of Campisi's for decades., But this was my first time visiting the Plano location. And it will be my last. The food was fantastic, however, the service was awful. There was no greeter at the front and the place was mostly vacant. We sat nearly 10 minutes before the waitress finally came to our table. We sat another 15 minutes for our order of drinks to show up. So we immediately ordered our entrées. Salad was incorrect. Only two of our three orders showed up. She completely forgot to put in the order for our pizza. By the time it arrived, we were done with our entrées and ready to leave. She did apologize and offered a free dessert. We initially made a reservation with Pier at 7:30pm for 11 people & were accommodated at 7pm. The server was very tentative ensuring that all drinks were full for the duration of our visit. The calamari & cheese toast came out hot and there was none left. All meals came out together and were hot, no one was disappointed whatsoever. Even both of my VERY picky kids ate all of their spaghetti & meatballs. Our server boxed up all remaining food for us as well which was nice. I'm really not sure why there are so many complaints on the Pasta Combo Sampler. I ordered it & I thought it was pretty dang good, although I do think that there should be a little more than 2 raviolis. The restrooms were VERY clean & maintained. I've had several good pizzas from other Campisis locations. Just ordered a carry out pizza from the Frisco location. Very disappointed. It was so cold when I got it home I had to put it in my oven. This place is a GREAT find in the Plano area. Right next to Legacy Hall. This place offers ambient date vibes with dim lit dining rooms and super friendly staff. Food was brought out to us very quickly. Food tasted great as well. My favorite for years has been Joes Garlic bread. You HAVE TO get it with the cheese. Its amazing!!! You can thank me later. Edited: Door Dash is reimbursing $29 towards the order so I am changing the rating. They called and emailed so that is very professional. I wonder if the pizza is cold because door dash doesn't have a pizza bag carrier to carry it in. They did not take it out of a pizza carrier. We ordered Campisi pizza tonight through Door Dash because my husband is exhausted from being out of town. The pizza was literally not warm at all. The salads were a bit soggy. We tried to heat it up and it did not help at all. Campisi pizza does not taste good heated up. I usually do not eat pizza very often because of my gluten allergies and the after math but we wanted something easy and very yummy since my husband was returning from out of town despite the high prices. We were so disappointed a bad review would not do it, so my husband did a live chat and door dash who said they are not responsible for cold soggy food. There is no doubt that dominos would have delivered a better pizza which is a very sad statement. I would not recommend ordering from Campisi through a delivery service if you want the quality food you think you are paying for. I am not sure if the driver decided to drop off 5 pizzas before ours or if it sat under a lamp for 30 minutes waiting for the driver but it is sad that no one wants to take responsibility. We ate at Campisi's because it was one of the few restaurants open on Christmas Eve. Overall it was okay, nothing amazing but also nothing terribly bad. Very large portions for the price and it comes with a free salad, which is nice. I actually liked the dressing very much, wonder what it is. I ordered a gluten free pizza - they only offer it as a personal size which is fine. However, I will say it is much more like a flatbread than a regular pizza. I understand that gluten free items are kind of a pain for restaurants that don't really advertise it but it would be nice if it hadn't come to me burnt all around. I had to really bite through to get to a not cardboard-flavored part, lol! I will say though once I bit into actual pizza, it was really good! I got the Canadian bacon and basil added on. Overall wasn't too impressed, I don't think I'll be back unless Christmas eve rolls around and we're scrambling for a place to go. read more

Been patronizing Campisis on Mockingbird on and off for 20 years. Pizza has been good at this location, no issues ordering out and we have had a number of corporate dinners here (at my suggestion) in the past. I have also recommended the restaurant to countless other friends, strangers and colleagues. I will not be doing so in the future, at least not for this location. Service has gone down considerably and, according to our waitress, the menu has changed. We ordered an additional plate to take home with us of meatballs and spaghetti. What came out was meat sauce and one meatball, which the receipt confirmed. The waitress argued with customers of 20 plus years that this is the only option for meatballs and spaghetti. Huh. A manager was nowhere in sight either with whom to confirm this. Perhaps it was the rude Hispanic lady's lack of English or perhaps campisis really no longer serves spaghetti and meatballs. The owner of the original location would not have found our experience to have been acceptable. Rather than a "hey please contact us to make this right", based on the other most recent negative reviews I will receive a standard "we hope we can make it up to you in the future"; meaning come spend your hard earned money here, but know we won't make it right if there is an issue. read more

Sad. Years ago when we first moved to Frisco, this was a good restaurant. Not anymore. They are not even trying. Service was poor. Young lady who barley spoke English. Portions are insulting. My wife and I both ordered chicken. My chicken picatta was a HALF of a chicken breast and a plate of pasta. Both our half breast were over cooked. I say the portions are insulting because a 1/2 chicken breast for $16 dollars is implying any customer would not realize how small it is. But more than that, it is obvious this location will probably close soon. They are making no attempt to deliver great food or great service. Have been using the Frisco location of Campisi's for years. Always stellar service and any time an issue arose, we were well taken care of. Had a small snafu that occurred last night, due to me forgetting to mention we wanted take-and-bake pizzas to go and not baked pizzas to go. Our server, Thomas, was apologetic even though it was my mistake and quickly found a solution. Alfredo, the manager, took care of everything to our satisfaction and even grabbed us as we were leaving to apologize and check to see that everything was handled and we were happy. Everyone we encountered was polite and very helpful. Alfredo has a top notch crew!! The pizza and the meatball appetizer was delicious. Love having Campisi's take-and-bake in my freezer for those times I am craving it!! read more
