Good pizza, awful service, over prices beverages. A 6 oz glass of house cab is 11 bucks but you get the privilege of enjoying your dirty plates the entire dinner while looking garbage on the floor and your empty water glass. For the lucky few that had their dirty plates removed you get to keep an eye on them as they piled up on the server station. I especially liked the disinfectant spray bottle and dirty rags sitting right next to the outgoing pizza area. I could identify my server but she never gave us her name and we only saw her a few times. Take our order, bring our overpriced 22 dollar round of wine that took 10 minutes to deliver. I guess she had an update to post when I saw her on the phone in the kitchen area. And finally when she dropped off the check to our dirty plates. Rule #1 of waiting tables is NEVER deliver the check to dirty plates. It does make me feel better that we were not alone in the complete lack of service experience. This place offers great wood-fired pizza. The crust is As close as I have come in NK to New York City which in my opinion has the best pizza in the world. Except possibly Italy itself. It's been awhile since I've eaten pizza over there. The pasta here is quite good as well. Thank god this isn't another national American style pizza chain. They all seem to taste the same with the possible exception of Mellow Mushroom that has a unique and good flavor. We got there around 430 on a Saturday. It was nice day so there were people eating inside and out but still plenty of empty tables so we were seated quickly inside. You have the option for the smaller wood fire pizza or the larger oven baked but the great smell of the WF pizza baking made us want that one. We opted for the WF version with crushed tomato, fresh mozzarella and EVOO & I got char pepperoni on my 1/2. It took awhile for the pizza to come out but well worth it. The crust was thin and chewy from the wood oven and had a great flavor. The only reason that I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was the service. The server was extremely friendly but we had a hard time tracking her down for refills and even paying the tab so we could leave. It filled up quickly after we got there and looks like she had a lot of tables to take care of. It is a good value and would still highly recommend and would go back. read more

Having lived in Europe and New England, and knowing good pizza, this was so lackluster, so incredibly meh, that Little Caesars would have been a bit more enjoyable. The crust is okay, the tomato sauce is passable, but nothing came together in flavor, texture, and aroma. I tried their chili on the appetizer list, and it tasted worse than canned chili. Definitely good pizza with quality ingredients. I came here with Tiff D. for a pizza bloggers date night. Haha. I really liked the ambience. It was comfy and cozy. The establishment is spacious. I absolutely loved the bar which is right in front of the ovens where you can watch the pizzas being made. It was cool and just fun! The staff was amazing from start to finish. The owners (husband and wife) were also present which I loved. The owner even came out and asked us how everything was. I loved the hospitality here! People, they have ginger beer!! If you haven't had it definitely try it. I first experienced ginger beer in San Francisco. It's amazing! I also tried their Camporosso Salad, mixed greens, grape tomatoes, shaved parmigiano. It was amazing! I'm not sure what greens they were but they went together perfectly. It was the perfect taste with the Italian dressing. It's very simple but good! Because Tiff and I are food bloggers we couldn't just order one pizza. We ordered two pizzas and got each one half one flavor and half another flavor. This allowed us to try four different pizzas. For food bloggers the more we get to try, the better. We tried the Margherita Pizza, Sopressata Hot Honey, Pesto Chicken, and BBQ Chicken. These were all definitely great choices, but our favorites hands down were the Pesto Chicken and the BBQ Chicken Pizzas. Both of the pizzas were Wood Fired Pizzas. MARGHERITA - crushed san marzano tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, EVOO. This pizza was simple but had a very fresh taste. The basil and other ingredients were fresh and flavorful. Definitely for the person who doesn't really like a lot of toppings and wants something simple. SOPRESSATA HOT HONEY - crushed tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, sopressata salami, local hot honey. This pizza was fun and a nice twist on basic Pepperoni Pizza. It had a slight spice too it (not overly spicy) just a hint/kick of heat. You also get a light sweetness from honey. I really enjoyed this. PESTO CHICKEN - basil pesto, bacon, local grilled chicken, fresh mozzarella. Let me start by saying I absolutely loved the touch of bacon on this. It added a nice flavor. Everything about it was wonderful!! That's it! Just order it! Lol! BBQ CHICKEN - BBQ sauce, grilled chicken, roasted wood fired corn, bacon, ranch drizzle, cilantro, red onion, mozzarella, finished with ranch dressing. This might have been my favorite!! It was AMAZE BALLS! I was a little hesitant about the corn at first but you honestly couldn't really taste it. This pizza was full of flavor. All of the sauces with the ingredients played well together. The BBQ sauce was slightly sweet. I'd have to say this was probably the best BBQ Chicken Pizza I have had from a pizza place. Just yummy!! Lastly, we had a sample of their Bourbon Ball ice cream. It's a Bourbon Vanilla base with a few pecans. It was amazing! I normally am not a fan of alcohol and ice cream because it's either too strong or a flavoring which taste weird. This was perfect and made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. One word. WOW! This is exactly what the Fort Mitchell area needed! The atmosphere is excellent, very lively. Beautiful interior, expertly designed with a modern industrial look. And the pizza...oh my gosh. It was absolutely incredible. I had the pepperoni and sausage. The crust is crunchy & airy, with an excellent wood fired flavor. The ingredients were absolutely delicious. I'm a bit of a pizza snob and I'm still in shock at how great this was. 10 out of 10 will recommend. The owner, Eric, also came out to greet us. This only stays open because the local neighborhood thinks it's unique and it's it the remnants of a gas station that dates back decades in Fort Mitchell. If you build it, they will come. I looked this place up on yelp and wasn't sure what to think but this place is legit. The sauce is on point. Food is fresh. Please be prepared to wait for your food. If you're in a rush to eat and be seated, this is not the place. Be sure that the food is worth the wait. The staff is very kind and friendly. The owner lit a fire pit outside due to the weather being pretty chilly and he's always around to check on the patrons. We had the antipasto board, arancini, and burrata for appetizers as well as their Italian gumbo which was delicious. The penne with pesto and chicken was excellent and we ordered 3 pizzas -- the margherita, a pepperoni, and a the deluxe -- can't say enough good things. This place bustles as the local favorite. Everything that we have had here is delicious -pasta, pizza, salads. Generous wine servings.

We finally tried this neighborhood spot and had a great time. The design of the space is innovative for this area with its garage doors: upscale, casual, accomodating for groups and individuals. I love being able to watch and be nosey re the prep and cook activity at the beverage bar and prep area. We watch them making the pizzas in this imported Italian oven made from Mt. Vesuvius clay - which enables inside temps of 1000+ degrees. Somehow the heat from that oven, which is out in the open, does not heat up the cook nor the room! We chose the Italian wood oven pizza with fig and prosciutto, gorgonzola and arugula. What a fabulous combination - the arugula added just the right punch of spices while the sweet/salt were perfectly balanced. We also ordered the meat americanized pizza which is normally baked in the electric ovens but accidentally was baked in the italian oven. Not sure what diff that makes but it was still delicious! We even took home leftovers - nothing like cold pizza the next morning. NUMMM!!!! Will def be going back again, with fam and friends! read more
