Maybe one of the best burgers I've had in my life. Shockingly delicious! "Very rare" is exactly as advertised.

This place has been here for years..I regret it took me this long to review it. The place is a charming old school Irish pud in every sense. When you sit at the bar and hear the Bartender (John) speaks with an Irish Brouge, you know two things are likey: the Beer is cold and the food is gonna be great. Well Yup and Yup! I had "The Eastchester" burger, was absolutely Delicious!! This place is just a great neighborhood pub that has its regulars and welcomes everybody. I try not to go through Eastchester, Scarsdale, Bronxville area with stopping in. ENJOY!!

The Best Burger In Town.....That's what the sign says right outside the entrance to this smallish Irish Pub. My Guiness draft was on point. They don't take reservations, so after an approximately 10-minute wait for a table of five in their small dining room, we were seated. Started with the French Onion Soup. Came in a small crock but was loaded with cheesy goodness. Delicious. Had the Manhattan Burger (Canadian bacon, imported Swiss cheese, tomato & sautéed onions) medium. The burgers are served your choice of fries or coleslaw or potato salad or small tossed or Caesar salad. I choose the Cole slaw. The burger was on point, and you could tell the Cole slaw was freshly made. Delicious. I would definitely return when in the area.

A consistently great lunch! We started with bloody Mary's which are amazing and one of us ordered the Eastchester burger and the other got a turkey club. The burger was fantastic, really juicy and perfectly cooked. The turkey club was crispy and well done, with the right amount of crisp bacon. The waitresses are always amazing, very friendly and fun. We love it here!

The fish in the fish and chips smelled like windex or ammonia. Be careful. Hostesses and servers can be a bit rude and snarky.

To start, we shared the crispy brussel sprouts Charleston style. These were delicious with the tangy sauce and large flakes of parmesan cheese. For my main, I had the brunch wrap. It comes with chips, but I swapped for fries for an additional charge. The wrap was a good size; I had half and saved the rest for leftovers. It was tasty, but not a ton of flavor. The tater tots were nice and crispy and I enjoyed the fresh tomatoes and avocado. They gave me a huge portion of crinkle cut fries, which also would've been great with a little more seasoning, but they were good when dipped in mayo. My husband got the shrimp and grits and appreciated the large portion size as well. I had a lemonade to drink. It was refreshing since it wasn't overly sweet. Service was great. I look forward to trying the rest of the menu!

Aesthetically, each table feels like a meal at a family dinner table; it's clear that they wanted that vibe to be translated, and it's done quite well. This is also supported by the service being very friendly and helpful in general. To eat, I had the French toast burger with sweet potato fries. Some others with me had various sides like regular fries and tater tots, and the same thing was present on them that tends not to be at most places: they were all perfectly salted/seasoned. It might seem immaterial, but it's a very good signal when something that simple--yet often neglected in favor of just using condiments to mask it--is executed well. If you're a burger place with fries that taste great without the need for a sauce or condiment, you're doing something right. The French toast burger was likewise fantastic, combining sweet and savory in a great way. To drink, we all got a communal pitcher of the only frozie they had available at the time: a kind of jungle juice vodka slushie. It, too, was great--worthy of multiple rounds. All in all, here's a place that I can't wait to give another visit.

My go-to's are ALWAYS the kale Caesar salad, truffle fries and the Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese is more of a cream sauce so it's not gooey like traditional Mac and cheese, but the flavor makes me come back to it every time I come. The truffle fries are always fried to perfection and pair so well with the Caesar salad (you can tell they make their own dressing). When I wanna switch it up I get the smashburger which is pretty good! I had my birthday dinner here last year so it was my family's first time coming here, so they all got smashburgers and were very pleased by the high quality of the meat and the flavor. I also like that they have mocktails! I don't drink so it's nice to have a mocktail option. I've only tried the Give Me A Minute mocktail which I'm very loyal to. It's a bit tart and sweet (the lavender syrup really brings it together), and I look forward to it each time I visit. Met the owner recently and he was very nice! Forgot to mention this in person but figure I'll put it here--if you add another plate option deal (happy hour?) that includes the Caesar salad, fries and a side of the Mac and cheese, me and my girlfriends would rather give you guys our money instead of venturing out to the city! Definitely consider coming here with some girlfriends after work for a nice drink and good eats. I've even come to dine on my own and enjoyed myself. One of my friends swears they have the best ice cream for dessert. Not sure if they still do trivia nights (never went but I'm hopeful! Seems like a fun time).

More of a creamy preparation, rather than cheesy or gooey. The wild mushroom pizza was tiny. The crust was a little chewy, but nice rich flavor. My husband enjoyed the lobster bucatini, but would've liked more pieces of lobster.

It was easy for all of us to walk in and out and the waitress was very sweet and knowledgeable. I had French onion soup to start and I was very happy with my choice as it was very flavorful and had a ton of onions which I love when they leave in all of them when they serve it. My friends had clam chowder and calamari. I had a few calamari and was very happy with how fresh and crispy it was. They gave a nice portion on all three. As for my main course I had a a very nice size steak sandwich that were absolutely delicious. It came with hand cut French fries. I couldn't believe how good it was. I'm usually extremely picky and the steak was so tender and it melted it my mouth. The fries were killer good as well. For desert, I had bread pudding and that was wonderful as well. It came in a cream sauce and I was very happy with what I picked. All in all, I loved my meal and the time spent with my friends that I hadn't seen in almost a year. We had laughs and a very nice conversation and they did not rush us at all. I will definitely be back for some amazing food and a wonderful atmosphere to soak it up with.

On a beautiful afternoon, we decided to grab a table on the patio, and it was the perfect choice. The outdoor seating created a relaxed, inviting atmosphere that made it easy to settle in and enjoy brunch. The restaurant itself has a modern, stylish aesthetic that feels elevated without being pretentious. From the moment we sat down, the service was exceptional. Our server was attentive, welcoming, and struck that perfect balance of checking in without ever making us feel rushed. Now, let's talk about the food. The Tres Leches French Toast completely exceeded my expectations. I've had plenty of French toast over the years, but this one stood out. It was incredibly soft and fluffy with beautifully crisp edges, creating that perfect contrast in texture. The tres leches flavor was rich enough that it genuinely didn't need syrup--a rare compliment for French toast. Every bite was indulgent without feeling overly sweet. Paired with the perfectly cooked apple-smoked bacon and a bowl of fresh fruit, it was one of the better brunch plates I've had in quite some time. I also ordered the strawberry mimosa, which was bright, refreshing, and not overly sweet. It was the perfect companion to brunch. We couldn't leave without trying the Chicken Burrata Sandwich, and I'm so glad we did. The burrata was fresh and creamy, the chicken was juicy, and the spicy sauce added just enough heat to keep every bite interesting without overpowering the sandwich. Then there was the bun--soft, fresh, and sturdy enough to hold everything together. It tied the entire sandwich together beautifully. The fries deserve their own mention. Golden brown, perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside--exactly how fries should be. Between the beautiful setting, genuinely attentive service, and food that delivered across the board, 179 Bar & Grill earned every one of these five stars. It's the kind of place that's just as good for a casual brunch as it would be for bringing friends or celebrating a special occasion. I'll absolutely be back--and next time, I'm already planning to explore more of the menu.
