This is only a review of their matcha, as I haven't tried their coffee. I did see they use Makeworth coffee beans, which is a great roaster in Bellingham. I've been following this place on Instagram for a long time and finally tried it since I was passing through Renton. The interior space is super cute and it was pretty packed inside. I got their seasonal strawberry matcha drink. You know that feeling when you immediately know a drink isn't going to be good because the color was wrong? Well, the matcha came out and it was a super pale shade of green, so I just knew it was going to be very milky. The strawberry flavor was interesting, but there was no matcha flavor and it tasted like sweet milk. The drink was almost $9 and it's always a bummer when I know I can make a better matcha at home. Was pleasantly surprised at the interior of his coffee shop as the exterior does not really reflect the interior very well. Good vibes inside, mediocre service by the employees, but good coffee and I enjoyed my avocado toast. This place got so busy by 10:30am...on a Wednesday! My friend and I were surprised by how many people came in and how long the line ended up being. Service is as fast as it can be with 1 person ringing folks up, 1 person making drinks and 1 person in the back. The interior is really aesthetically pleasing, muted tones, definitely more of a "laid back" vibe. I ordered the masala chai and it was okay, nothing out of this world but it was fine...decent amount of spice to it. I would give Candor 3.5 stars. read more

Awesome addition to this area, and I'm super happy that it's pretty close to work! The first time I went there was about a week after they opened when dine-in was still allowed in limited circumstances. Definitely loved the atmosphere right off the bat! It looks completely different than the last coffee shop that was here; very open and the space it actually larger than I've previously given it credit for. Menu is small, but mighty. Olympia coffee beans are used here and they're treated with care. The baristas seem to take the time to make sure that it's an awesome cup every time. Speaking of barista skills, they're all super friendly and welcoming. They are definitely a huge asset to this coffee shop and I'm looking forward to getting Candor on my regular coffee list! read more

I was on a trip to Sequim and landed at SEA at 8am and all I wanted was a latte after I got my car rental. I started driving and literally decided on going to Candor Coffee because it was on the way, close, and easy to get to. On my 3 day trip this was the best latte I had for sure and honestly is probably one of the best Vanilla Lattes I've ever had. If I ever am back in the Seattle area I will for sure be coming back to Candor. The coffee shop itself is also super cute and the staff were cheerful and nice. read more

The ambience was BEAUTIFUL. I loved the clean, plant look. All the bar seating along the windows, absolute perfection. Their merchandise was soooo nice. I feel like their vibe was so curated and so cohesive. I absolutely loved it. Their coffee though was ok. I had ordered two drinks, their cortado and their lavender latte. I understand lightly sweetening the drink so there's a balance but I could not taste any lavender at all. I know lavender can get easily overpowering but I couldn't taste it. It's a bit of a bummer because I was really excited for their house made lavender syrup. Their service was ok. It seemed like the barista was a little irritated because we asked how much one of the merchandise cups costed after we ordered our drinks (but didn't close out). Don't know why she was upset we asked but it deterred us from purchasing the cup (even though we really liked it). All in all, I'd come back just to study here. read more

This new coffee shop is so cute!!! Stopped by in the morning and had a great experience :) The barista there was so friendly and welcoming! The place was way more spacious than I was expecting. Lots of tables and seating inside with multiple countertops, but you probably won't be able to dine in for a while due to new COVID restrictions. The decorations and interior were very clean, minimalist, and aesthetic - love the vibes!! Got a 12 oz latte ($4.50) with a bacon cheddar scone ($4.50). Both were amazing!! Latte had good espresso and pretty latte art. They use Olympia Coffee Roasting Co. beans which are known to be really good and have won various awards - I've been meaning to visit one of their shops to try their beans, so I'm glad I got to try it here. The bacon cheddar scone was soo good!!! Tasted like the bread in Costco's chicken bake (which I love). They also have other pastries at the counter, like gigantic croissants and cookies. The menu itself is not super extensive, but I really liked how the menu was very simple/minimal. If you are looking for good, high-quality coffee or tea, this is the place to go. If you want a cafe with drinks similar to Starbucks frapps, fruit smoothies, or other kinds of specialty drinks you might find somewhere with a large menu, then this might not be the place. I love the home made syrups for the drinks, the seasonal menus, and the new crepes are so good! The crepes are light with good flavor, with delicious hazelnut spread inside. The Cortado hit the spot! It did its job to give me boost of energy, but it also tasted great! The barista was very friendly and nice. My husband ordered a vanilla latte. A few minutes later, the barista brought out another cup of latte telling us that she realized that she missed putting in the vanilla. Essentially, we got a free latte at the end. First time and not the last time visiting this "hidden gem." i say hidden just because you are not going to expect this type of establishment in this part of town, stopped by on the way to Ikea. I will definitely visit again as they have good seating, indoor and outdoor to meet a friend and stay a while. The esthetic is clean, bright and cheery! Candor coffee uses the Olympia coffee brand Morning Sun as their base coffee when making most coffee beverage, Morning Sun is a m dium to dark roast with chocolate, roasted hazelnuts and vanilla taste notes these notes take over flavor when I ordered a Carmel macchiato so next time I will have to specify what type of coffee if I can. The seating area is nice and bright white, and the seating area outside is nice and cozy although open at night lights up with those string lights, adds a nice touch to meet up for a quick date with a pal or two . This coffee shop also sells candles, Candor merchandise such as r-shirts, jewelry, pins, stickers, oils,body soap uhm my favorites, travel tumblers by MIIR one of my favorite brands for coffee tumblers , they make a cute travel coffee cup. Anywhere there's a good amount free parking is a plus haha I did some work over a cup of London Fog on a morning weekday and here's my experience: Got there around 7:15a and had plenty of open tables for a solo worker. There was a shared table and a group discussion spot open as well. The plugs were put conveniently next to the solo/duo work spaces (aka tables) so that's a plus because you don't have to crawl your plug through people. I spent about an hr there and it started getting filled up. I will say if you don't have headphones, it can be a bit loud for you. I wish The London fog had more of a froth to its texture. The flavor was well balanced between the sweetness and bergamot. Something besides the froth was missing but it's still considered one of the better London fogs I've had. There's a cute outdoor setting with picnic tables and it'll be great for a group hangout on a warm day. read more

Mmm! Ordered an omelet and bacon sandwich and an apple crumble pastry. So yummy! The may put garlic butter on the bottom bun that took the egg and bacon to another level. It tasted decadent, artisan... and a little fancy. So delicious! (I could have eaten two of them). Do not come here if u wanna wait a while for your coffee. It is a very slow moving coffee shop and the coffee is just alright. It is extremely overpriced with a latte being 5.60 and vanilla syrup being an additional 80 cents. So for a 12 oz iced vanilla latte it is upwards of 7$..... not worth it at all. After picking up donuts my friends and I went down to Candor for some coffee. Walked in and there were local venders selling merch. We ordered and took our beverages to go. My friend used to be a barista at SBUX. She said Candor knows how to make good drinks. I definitely picked up on that SoCal vibe. It had colors of golden sand, sea glass blue, and Moderne white. Kinda like an LA or San Diego coffee shop. The local venders were the only ones wearing masks. Candor employees and customers sitting down at tables weren't. Management wasn't enforcing anyone coming in to wear masks either. Go to Boon Boona in downtown Renton if you want to go to a coffee shop that follows WA state safety protocols. This place is aesthetically beautiful and was pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon. They have their standard menu as well as a seasonal menu to choose from. I decided to get one of the seasonals -- iced cookie butter latte. I have to say that I wasn't completely impressed. It tasted like a regular latte to me with no cookie butter flavor. There was some sweet syrup at the bottom of the cup that I couldn't mix because the hole of the cap was too large and would've spilled out. When I got to the bottom of my drink, it was slightly sweeter but I couldn't make out any particular flavor. Since starting my new remote job, I have been itching to work away from home. The slightest thought of my bed simply puts me into REM. Candor has been my go to work from home away from home spot. Located only about 20 minutes away from my home in Federal Way and close to the freeway exit. Super bright with a lot of windows, chill music, and lots of space.
