My husband had never been to Cane Rosso before, so I was so excited to introduce him to some of the best Pizza in Dallas! Sadly, I'll likely never get him to come back. Our waitress never introduced herself (or really spoke to us at all) but she was a very unfriendly, average height, brunette with a pony tail. We were seated on the left side of the main room of the restaurant. We ordered an appetizer, then ordered our entrees about 10-15 minutes later. Our appetizer and my husband's entree came up shortly after. We waited a total of 20 minutes after his entree came to receive mine. We received no communication (or check in) from our waiter so eventually chased down another waiter to see where mine was. He was very kind, apologized and said he would speak to a manager. A manager never came to our table, our waitress slammed my entree down and said "this is the worst day ever" before she stormed off. She never said that she was sorry for the poor service/entree delay and didn't speak another word to us. The food was delicious but we didn't love having to watch each other eat and agreed that it was the worst service we've experienced in years. The 3 stars is for the food, it's great for what it is. Placing an over the phone order is absolute hell. There's been a few occasions where I've called and no one answers. I don't know about most people but if I have to call more than 3 times and no one picks up I'm just picking a other place to order from. It's almost like they purposely don't answer the phone because I've dined in before and it's never that busy to where someone cannot answer. Another thing to consider is they take their payments over the phone, before you pick up your order so if you want to pay cash you can't. read more

Usually love the pizza here, but today I stopped in to order the Marghareti to go and waited for it. Service was definitely not up to par and the pizza was a huge disappointment when I got it home. I must say I don't get the raves about this place. We had a very disappointing experience and I doubt we will return. The wait was shorter than expected on a Saturday night so that was a positive. We started with a small Caesar salad which is enough for two people. It was just mediocre, not even close to the one that La Madeline makes. The parm cheese was the best part but there was very little of it. I got the Zoli and it was ok but there was hardly any sausage. I got all of two small basil leaves when the description said basil so I expected more. The dough was soggy in the middle and the edge crust was too chewy. I like thin and crispy. I added a ton of the grated parm cheese so it had some cheese flavor. The wife ordered a pizza that starts Cappri-something but I can't spell it because she sent it back and it was removed from the bill. The problem is the dough came out raw. The pizza had no flavor and basically was a limp nondescript mass of nothingness. She got one tiny basil leaf when the description said basil. The toppings slide off the pizza like they were at Hurricane Harbor. We've been married a long time and I have never ever seen her send anything back. Ever. She said it was the worst pizza she ever had in her life. I think they are not making the dough correctly. Something is obviously wrong. Too much sauce? Not cooking it long enough? I don't know. I just know that pizza crust should not be soggy. This is the second time we tried this restaurant and both times the crust was soggy and limp. We much prefer Grimaldi's and Enos for their thin and crispy crust. Not coming back here for sure. read more

We never have any issues coming to cane in deep ellum. Always had good service and good food especially. So glad they opened one up near moms house. We might visit this more often than Deep Ellum now. Same menu but they added a few more things. We had cesar salad to start of. It was good, they use different kind of lettuce. As usual, their pizzas are awesome! We always get the proschuto arugula pizza. Sometimes we switch it up with the ella and gus. We ordered a meatball sandwich this time to go. It comes with a house salad with balsamic vinegrette. That was good, everything was delicious!!! never have any complaints! Their patio is amazing!!!!! this is definitely the nicer location out of the two. Came for brunch the $2 mimosas and was pleased by the meal I ordered! I originally ordered the chicken and waffles to start with but was not pleased by the temperature of my waffles I was already torn to order Josh's big biscuit so I saw this as a sign to order that instead. I was so happy I did!!! This meal was the bomb!!! Let's start with the biscuit!!! It's handmade and taste phenomenal, the biscuit is flaky and buttery I could eat it by itself. I love other Cane Rosa locations but your food is not the same, I have ordered many times over the past few months and it has been consistently bad, bolognese that is nothing more than a glob of mozzarella and too salty sauce. So this last time I ordered your spaghetti and meatballs what I got was a tough doughball over cooked swollen mushy pasta in a too salty sauce. I will never patronize your establishment ever again. I have been here several times over the years. Food is always good, but the service can bit hit or miss. Sometimes we would opt for the Lakewood location due to ease of parking compared to the Deep Ellum which is closer to home for us. I'm referencing our last visit here several months ago (pre COVID), but it was probably the worst service I have ever experienced in any restaurant setting. - Came in on a Sunday evening around 8PM. Just decided to grab a few seats at the bar & start with ordering a couple of draft beers. We waited for 15 minutes for those beverages. Since we were at the bar, would could see the staff was cleaning, stacking plates, etc - I imagine to get a jump on closing procedures. Ok fine, but how long does it take to simply fill 2 beer orders from your draft? You still have customers in the restaurant. We almost left after this issue, but we were starving for some of that delicious pizza. - The pizza came out and all was well, again no complaints about the food. As we were finishing up our meal, the waiter comes by and informs us that, "hey folks it's 9PM on the dot." He was referring to their closing time on Sundays. We were about to ask for the check, but who has the nerve to say that to paying customers while they are finishing their meal. Bottom line is the Staff was more concerned about closing the place "on the dot" then delivering any kind of hospitable service. I will never come back to this location. I'd rather dodge bullets walking to the Cane in Deep Ellum (much more friendly & welcoming staff) than deal with the piss poor customer service we received here. read more

The 14 inch pizza is perfect after a long day at the office. In addition to pizza, they have a great selection of sandwiches, pastas and salads, along with appetizers. We stopped in here for a late dinner after researching restaurants in the area. We are visiting from New Haven, Connecticut and when my boyfriend suggested pizza, my first thought was "we live in the pizza capital of the US. What could a Texas know about pizza?" I was pleasantly surprised. The ingredients were fresh and the dough was excellent; soft and chewy and the crust had a nice shell to it. We ordered the Hot Rob and the Delia- both excellent! The bacon marmalade on the Delia was drool worthy. We also ordered the zucchini fritters which honestly tasted like fried mashed potatoes. They were SO. GOOD. The s'mores calzone for dessert will change your life. It was probably the best dessert I have ever eaten. I would suggest putting down the last slice of pizza so you can save room for this dessert. You won't regret it. If you're wondering if Cane Rosso is worth your time- it totally is. Fresh ingredients, cooked fast and simply; the Neapolitan way. We come here often on Sundays and sit at the bar. Why the bar? To avoid the entourage of little people. Usually this works. However, today a bunch of dumb people sat at the bar with their children. What is wrong with you??? This is nothing to do with the restaurant itself (maybe I am not-so-subtlety asking for a policy to disallow this?) but more an awareness check for parents who need help with social graces. We come because the pizza is good and fresh. I happily ask for an extra side of sauce to dip the crust. Today the pizza was a bit bare in places, but the extra sauce fixed it. The bartender, Rodrigo, was extra helpful getting warm from the kitchen. I have ordered things other than pizza and have always been quite pleased. The brussel sprouts are a fond memory. We will be back, and Cane Rosso has officially entered the rotation. The only weird thing is the meat. Picture attached. We have been here almost 2 hours and so has it. We can't figure out what it is and why it has sat here for so long. I know you never want to know how the sausage is made, but you also don't want to see it sit for hours. Let me tell you. Cane is the best. Plenty of outdoor seating AND they welcome dogs. Plus the floppy pizza is divine- too much crust ruins the pizza. The ratio has to be right! Anyway, we have always had great service at this location and tonight was no exception. Our order was very late (I think bc some losers decided to open a pizza place next door and Cane was getting the overflow of some overhyped neighbor *What a jerk thing to do- open your pizza place next door to another?! Whack.) What did Cane do? Cane hooked us up with an extra pizza (also delicious) no charge and was EXTREMELY apologetic. I liked that. We didn't have to raise a stink for this treatment either. I have no idea what people see in this pizza place. The menu is limited, and the items that they do have are not great. I really feel like this is an 'Emperor Wears No Clothes' scenario. Everyone says the pizza is great, and who wants to be the one to disagree? I've had pizza from this location 4 or 5 times because it's close to my house. Everytime, the pizza is limp and soggy. The margherita pizza is just so little crust, cheese, and sauce, that I often wonder if I even ate anything. I really wanted to like the Chicken and Waffles for brunch, but the chicken was hard and dry. Like it sat under a hot lamp for far too long. The Honey Badger used to be a 'secret' menu item, but its official now. I have to say that the flavor is pretty good. But again, the shitty limp pizza crust just really kills it for me. Maybe to each thier own pizza, but for wood fired, I really love Olivellas at Mockingbird and Abrams. Cane Rosso, take some notes! read more

Food was excellent. The Zoli lived up to the hype, this place lived up to the hype. Sat at bar. Bartender lady was very busy. Too busy to notice you once you order. Come time to check out I wanted to order a pizza to go and had to play the staring game. She looked at me twice while I had my hand up staring at her for attention, twice ignored, I was definitely losing this game of eye tag. Finally many minutes later I got the order and check. Gave her nearly 20% tip anyways because I have a friend that used to be a bartender so I know how they think. Yeah, sometimes a book is read by its cover. Asians must tip like sh*t around here or something. Bartender was nice to the lady next to me. I guess next time I'll come dressed as a business executive flown in from New York. One star off for the service, another off for burning 1/4 of the to-go order 4-cheese pizza. A little overdone is ok, this was charcoal black. Get a better cook on the line. read more

The server was very apologetic and explained that 40% of their weekend revenue is from online orders / pickup, which has thrown a wrench into their operation. Great. Below is what I thought I had posted a while ago when I first visited and ate here. I have since come back several times and brought friends. This place rocks and everyone should visit. I'll add pics soon but honestly you don't need them A fantastic recommendation from a former employee. First off that's already a pretty good testimonial to the quality. If a former employee still recommends people it has to be pretty good and it definitely was. I started with the fried mozzarella nuggets and they were amazing, they also have such a wide variety of pizzas but I ended up ordering the Zoli and it was a great choice. Perfect combo of spicy meat and cheese with a hint of fresh basil. The service was great, I was warmly greater when I walked in , I was solo so I sat at the bar where the excellent service continued. If you're in the deep ellum area of Dallas be sure to stop in and eat here. I'll def be back on my next business trip. read more

Cane Rosso was recommended by a friend that lives in Dallas since we are visiting from out of town. My co-worker and I decided to adventure out and make our way over for a slice of pizza (really, the whole pizza). The pizza's are Neapolitan style, which is a style of pizza made with tomatoes and mozzarella cheese, soft crust which is intended to eat with a knife and fork (we were informed by the waitress) but honestly, if you fold the slice in half, it is easy to eat. We ended up ordering the Friday Night Frankie (pictured) and added sausage. The candied jalapenos that come on the pizza were to tempting to not try the pizza. Let me step back, the waitress (unknown name), was extremely friendly and helpful since this was our first visit to a Cane Rosso. We appreciated her friendliness and being so informative about the menu. Now, back to the pizza. We really enjoyed the pizza and the candied jalapenos gave the pizza a nice taste mixed with the peperoni and sausage. Was it the best pizza we've ever had? No, but it was really good! In addition to the pizza, the atmosphere was great. We would recommend going to Cane Rosso if you are in the are and are in the mood for some pizza. read more
