Service is really hit or miss here which is frustrating. I do frequent this close to work restaurant often but have found myself having to get up to ask for drink refills, having to look for silverware after theyve taken up mine, seating myself because the hostess is too busy.... The food is always solid so it's a give and take really... good food... not great service. And hey people watching on the patio here is pretty fantastic so the venue is great. I love their salads, I love that I can put ricotta on any pizza (because adding more cheese is better right), and their focaccia bread appetizer with rosemary and fresh pepper oh my yall that is a must try. What a great place to enjoy some extra special delicious pizza! The atmosphere is warm and inviting and fun. In an area that has many tourists around, this is a great place to drop by and taste the wonderful goodness of the menu. Josh, manager of this location, is warm and personable and his restaurant is staffed with people that take great care of details. Expensive and not that good. I tried the margarita pizza with meatball topping. There wasn't a lot of topping and what I had was tasteless. The crust is all wrong - too thin and rubbery. The crust should be at least twice as thick, crisp on bottom and soft in the middle and on top. The crust really ruins it. read more

We have been here a few times now, mostly for late lunches. Too early for happy hour but late enough to miss a lunch crowd. We have had the Mista salad, which is composed of simple greens, grape tomatoes, shaved Parmesan in balsamic vinaigrette. I love this salad and the dressing is not heavy handed so the greens and tomatoes are the highlights. We have gotten the Jimmy Johnson Dip a couple times now. It is not like your run of the mill spinach artichoke dip. Whatever your notions are, throw it out the window. It comes in a football shaped pizza crust. It is warm, mildly cheesy, with spinach and chunks of artichokes. The flavor is very mild but very good. I think of it as a bread dip with some spinach and artichokes. We enjoyed the subtle flavors and it is a good appetizer. We have also had the couple of their pizzas--the Friday Night Frankie (FNF) and the prosciutto e rucola. Our favorite is the FNF with candied jalapeños and pepperoni. We asked for it extra done because we are big fans of charred crust. Their crust is flavorful but a little on the heavy side. They have a helmet shaped pizza oven in the main dining area but I haven't seen them cook anything in it. Service is always friendly and attentive. We will definitely put this place in our rotation. My only criticism? Have one space out front for to-go! read more

The good: That honey bastard pizza (off the menu) has maybe the best flavor of any pizza I've eaten. Wow. I'll be dreaming about it for days to come. The location is also prime with a great view of the outdoor football field. I love that they have outside seating as well. The bad: The service needs improving. It's a huge pet peeve of mine when dirty dishes are left on the table for a long time. When someone brings out food and doesn't bus the dirty dishes, it just blows my mind. There seem to be enough staff, but why not have more people help, like the multiple hostesses at the front? They appeared to be standing there at the front doing nothing. They have to come up with a better system because that is a huge fail. We also asked for the crust to come out a bit crisper and it wasn't. It's a good place to go with kids and some brave souls appeared to be there on a date night. I personally wouldn't order wine here. We hope that the next time we are back (for that pizza which seems to be their only saving grace), that they have implemented new service systems. read more

For a restaurant claiming their pizzas cook in less than 90 seconds, the service is surprising slow. It took about 30 minutes for one pizza to come out. Had to track the waiter down to get our water refilled. Bathroom was also unkept but I liked the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. I ordered the Angioletti as an appetizer which reminded me of fair food. Not in a bad way though! In a perfect fried dough paired with cheese and marinara sauce kind of way. The marinara sauce was warm which was nice. I ordered the Friday Night Frankie pizza for my main dish. It was so-so. The candied jalapeños were good. The waiter told me the dough is soft after cooking but seemed more soggy than soft to me with all the toppings. The crust itself was nice. I saw a lot of customers order The Star which is exclusive to this location only and it looked yummy. Overall 3/5. Not too bad but I don't think I'd come back. I would much rather order a pizza from Blaze Pizza, tbh. read more

I super recommend the pomegranate one if you like your drinks sweeter than sweet. The chai one was good also. The last one (the one I ordered) was peppery and A-OK. Would pass on mine in the future lol. Can't remember the name. :'( We ordered: + Rosemary Focaccia (appetizer): this was good, but tasted like pizza without all the fixings on top lol. Would prob pass if you're ordering actual pizza right after. + Honey Bastard: once my boss told me about this pizza, I knew I had to try it. Bacon marmalade and habanero honey??? Came here for lunch on a weekday and it was not that crowded. We were actually in a hurry this day and with the way they make their pizzas (in 90 seconds), our order came out fast and hot. The service was excellent and we were in and out in 40 minutes. I had the Paulie Gee and my wife got the Honey Bastard, which is on their secret menu. Look it up! Both were amazing and a very decent size (14"). We could have probably split the pizza if we got an appetizer or something as well. This location is much more modern than some of their others and has a specialty menu item called the Star and a Cowboys helmet shaped oven. read more

Well the start of this experience wasn't the greatest. My glass of water was so absolutely dirty and had crusted stuff on it, waitress didn't get me a new glass. And then she managed to spill water on my seat and got my jeans wet. She saw me wiping the seat and didn't even apologize. Real nice. Aside from this waitress, the food was pretty good. I enjoyed the 14 inch Cane Rosso pizza with a sangria. It was fascinating to watch the people make the pizza. The restaurant was nicely decorated, casual, and family oriented. I saw a lot of families eating together so it was pretty packed for dinner. However, the wait was only 20 mins. I love this bona fide Sicilian-style pizzaria! They have some really unique pizzas, and my favorite is their Billy Ray Valentine, which has smoked bacon, bacon marmalade, vodka sauce, sweety drop peppers, and mozzarella cheese! I also have enjoyed The Star, which comes out star-shaped, and is like partly calzone, partly pizza, and partly arugula salad! Yum! You have to see it to believe it! The restaurant has quirky, fun decor, and is right across the street from the Dallas Cowboys training center, with a big open courtyard and astroturfing for kids to play on in front of a giant bigscreen that constantly plays scenes from past Cowboys' games. The restaurant's design seems fun for kids that are teens upward, and they frequently are playing sports games on the tvs. I highly recommend the place -- one of my top fave pizza places in the Frisco area! read more

It's a 14" eat your own pizza cuz it's thin enough for me to almost eat entirely, almost. The restaurant has a modern look with cool Star Wars theme graffiti wall art. The Good: The Decor, the view of The Star. Check out the bathroom...the wall paper is the best part of this restaurant. The Bad: Service was slow, not attentive and she didn't complete our order probably because she didn't write it down. Drinks weren't refilled and she didn't check back with us after she dropped the food down for almost 15 minutes. Couldn't even get another servers attention because they were non existent. The Food: JIMMY JOHNSON DIP - spinach artichoke dip served in a wood-fired bread bowl - ZERO spinach and it's not a bowl, it's cold artichoke dip on an under cooked pizza crust. Terrible JOHNNY C Sandwich - coppa, prosciutto crudo, prosciutto cotto, hot soppressata, grape tomatoes, provolone, parmigiano, giardiniera, arugula, balsamic. DRY! All these listed ingredients would make you think this would be a hearty sandwich right...wrong! There was so much bread the ingredients were lost. The lettuce for the salad tasted like dirt, not sure it was even washed. CHICKEN PARM Sandwich - breaded chicken breast, marinara, mozzarella, calabrian chile aioli, pesto, parmigiano The breaded chicken was perfect, the enormous amount of dry bread ruined it. Suggestion - maybe make it a Dip sandwich. The sauce on the top part of the bread made it soggy and the bread that didn't have sauce was incredibly dry. Let me preface this low review by saying I'm a Cane Rosso Junkie, my personal favorite location is Lakewood with a close second being Deep Ellum. I've been to Carrollton, Allen, Austin... I follow Cane Rosso. I know what the pizza of the month is..... I know what to expect of this brand. I can't express how disappointing this visit to the Cane Rosso at the Star was. The service was horrible, Scott our waiter was inattentive Yes it was busy and a Saturday night but at one time I kept track of how long I couldn't see him and it had been 10 minutes we ordered our typical favorite the Honey Bastard, it came out with huge gaps in the toppings so it was just hard crust , and what was there was sloppy with everything clumped together. The crust was different instead of the light chew we normally get it crackled like biting into a cracker. We were going to order another pizza but the waiter disappeared and we decided the juice wasn't worth the squeeze. We got the manager to bring us our ticket and left. I will continue to frequent other Cane Rosso locations but this one is permanently scratched off my list. read more

Went to this location last night: 6:19 arrival to be put on waitlist for 4 people, 3 open tables behind hostess, 3 other open tables through out restaurant 6:58 sat at one of the above mentioned open tables behind hostess that was never sat while we were on the waitlist-mind you I had to check to see how much longer the wait was going to be. Hostess stated she just texted us our table was ready, well either she was lying or their texting system doesn't work (yes, I got the original text that we were added to the wait list) 7:05 greeted by nasty server that would not look at us instead was watching the door, ordered drinks and a kids pizza and another pizza while we had him at our table 7:46 finally got kids cheese pizza 7:49 got adult pizza 8:02 was ready to leave and pay the bill Hostesses (yes, there were 3 of them) need to learn how to host, so many open tables yet quoting people an hour for a table. Tables were open that were never sat. Manager was just walking around, not checking on tables, seeing people waiting with open tables....worthless Service was just bad, no attention to empty drinks, making sure order was correct, nothing ...had to flag down the above manager to get drink refills, no asking how things were like a normal manager would The pizza was fine, you could tell ingredients were just thrown on the pizza. Yes, we order the same pizza when we go to Cane Rosso so I know how it usually comes out. Probably shouldn't brag it only takes 90 seconds to cook a pizza, when it takes 41 minutes to get it to a table. There was not much turn over, between the time they sat us and we got our pizza, maybe 5 tables were sat. We went and got takeout here because my boyfriend always talks about how great this place is. We went to pick up our food. I got the margarita pizza and the hot honey style bruschetta because my bf raves about that one although he must have gotten a different one because they weren't the same. Anyways the girl who got our to go order together was very sweet and personable. My problem lies with the food itself. The pizza was cold and soggy....and the bruschetta was literally barely toasted at all, pieces of bread with globs of ricotta on top. Bruschetta is supposed to be toasted pieces for the bread and it was like eating white bread with way too much ricotta on it and...it was stone cold. This place charges quite a bit for their food and for the quality to be like that, is disappointing. Had to decide on a place to work while my kids were training for a gymnastics meet at The Star. So glad I picked this one! Great pizza (I chose the margherita) and excellent service. I didn't see any open WiFi for guests, but successfully logged onto the Star free wifi. The house red blend is also a very good choice for the money. read more
