This cute take on a tiki room recently opened in Paso next door to its sister restaurant, Fish Gaucho. The atmosphere is fun and decor is a nod to Disney's jungle cruise, very well done. With tropical music setting the mood, we ordered a Soju Think You Can Dance (which no one wants to watch me do) & Canes Groggy. Both were super tasty in glassware that suits the drinks and creatively garnished. Ordered the lettuce cups and the ahi poke -- delicious! One note is that the poke needs fried wonton wrappers to aid in scooping up each poke morsel. Unfortunately, we were seated in the back and had to put up with the bathroom door slamming over and over. Hopefully, they'll fix that!!! We'll be back but won't sit near the bathroom. read more

Came across this place and it looked fun. Had the Mongolia Beef and it was out of this world. Staff was great. After a day of wine tasting in Paso, this a as the perfect end of the day. read more

Cane Tikki Room is a great choice if you want to have some wonderful tropical drinks in a tikki setting. I think the limited food menu is an after thought to the drinks menu so don't expect too much by way of food. We had the firecracker shrimp and egg rolls which were just ok. My wife and I walked by Con Tiki a few times before the atmosphere pulled us in. What a great Tiki Bar! The atmosphere inside is well done. Not like a dark dingy Tiki, but an appropriately lit bar. Our bar tender was amazing, so friendly as she told us about the bar history and walked us through the menu. A HUGE rum selection, and most of the menu drinks are blends of multiple rums. Drinks were price right and STRONG! We can't wait to get back to Con Tiki. You will not be disappointed! read more

Definitely more of a bar atmosphere than a restaurant. Wouldn't recommend bringing kids here, but it seems to be allowed. The only thing missing is an authentic mac salad to go with all their Island food. Could definitely use some more carbs on the menu to soak up their incredibly strong drinks, but I'm not complaining! We just popped in for a South Polynesian drink and love the place. We had from the maître d' to the server to the expo food server, the service was fantastic. We were so excited to try this new bar and restaurant in Paso! We came here on a Saturday night and it was busy but not packed. We were offered bar seating which was great because we didn't have to wait at all. My boyfriend and I ordered the "28 Ingredients Later" to share because we've been wine tasting all day. The drink was very boozy and served in a cute Tiki mug. We started chatting it up with another couple next to us - so far so good. The experience was completely ruined when it came to paying. The couple we were talking to asked for their check and so we asked for ours except their check was given to them in a big ol shell and ours was tossed at us by the same bar tender. It wasn't in a shell or anything - just the receipt and the Credit card we gave him. There was no apology whatsoever either which made me wonder if it was accidental or not...? I was really debating on writing this review but it seems like my Asian counterparts had similar experiences..? Oh, the couple right next to us were Caucasian, btw. Our party of four went here a few days ago, thinking we could enjoy some delicious tropical drinks. Well, only if your idea of enjoyment equals about 3 sips of your drink! The special tiki cups many of the the drinks are served in are pretty, but ridiculously small and are about $15 each, plus tax and tip. But the outrageus part is that the glass is filled to the rim with crushed ice, then a tiny amount of liquid is added. Enormous rip-off. If you want to go there, I hope you read this or other reviews and request "no ice" in your drink, otherwise you are basically paying for a VERY expensive and small container of not much more than ice. read more

I visit Paso Robles with my partner every year and we are huge fans of tiki bars, visiting them in every city we go to. While we were initially excited to go, our visit to Cane's Tiki Room was sadly a disappointment to us especially after reading all of the positive reviews and after being impressed with 1122 Cocktail Bar. My one line summary would be "eh, they tried but still skip it". But if you want more of an explanation I invite you to continue reading. If you are a more discerning tiki bar visitor or simply have visited at least one tiki bar before, this isn't the place for you. If this is your first tiki bar, you will be in for a surprise during subsequent tiki bar visits. As a creative, I appreciate how Cane's Tiki Room tries to make the drinks in their own style but I found them all to be poorly crafted. I ordered the D.N.R. which was their take on the Painkiller, my favorite tiki cocktail. At this point in my life I have enjoyed a number of renditions of this quintessential tiki cocktail and this one fell flat. It was chewy and not in a good way. It was overly bitter and was unable to finish it. We also tried the 28 Ingredients Later which was their take on a Zombie. It did not resemble a zombie in any way in addition to being unbalanced. Finally we also ordered a Pina Colada which was crafted from a pre-made frozen Pina Colada slush in a machine with what I believe is with the addition of the spirits if it's not already in the pre-mix. Not delicious and overpriced for what it was. It's a standard cocktail that any reputable bar should have mastered even more so for a so-called tiki bar. As someone who is ambiance focused for a themed space, I can only describe it as a sanitized and plastic version of a tiki bar. It was painfully obvious that they missed the first step of the assignment, which is research and skipped directly to purchasing anything that might seem tiki from their nearest dollar store with the addition of a few tiki heads and lighting effects Indeed they can ride the wave of a revolving door of tourists. But, if you are one who has any genuine interest in tiki, Cane's Tiki Room is unquestionably a stop to omit. Double up on the drinks at 1122 Cocktail Bar or open one of the many bottles of wine that you inevitability purchased while wine tasting. read more

Having been to several tiki rooms, I found the drinks here to be a bit on the sweet side for my taste. The music was odd for a tiki room as it was not Hawaiian or island style at all. We had to wait for a table or opening at the bar which was no problem. A woman came in after us no reservation and they let her sit at the bar and wait for the rest of her party. When her two friends got there they let her two friends come in and sit with her instead of seating us. We were told about a 15 min wait and didn't get called for almost 2 hours. live in Paso for almost 40 yrs went to cane tiki room last week for the first time. it was crowded there was room at the bar so we sat at the bar. we decided to eat there and asked to be seated at a table when one came available our bartender went and told the hostess but we never got seated at a table even though 2 tables had become available. The hostess seated 2 other couples that had come way after us.( after being told and knowing we had been waiting) Needless to say WE WERE VERY DISAPPOINTED SEEING THIS HAPPENING IN FRONT OF OUR EYES we paid our bar bill and left. Super beautiful place ! Great hostess! Great service! So my only thing was they had no domestic beers.. we all ordered (3of us) entrees that are meant to be shared, they were pretty good! This is a new place in Paso. I would recommend it except the food was mediocre. The skewers of chicken were dry, the beans were just a bit too hot to eat. The drinks were extremely over priced at 20 bucks for a regular sized drink. The people I was with were satisfied with the variety of drinks as well as the taste. The service was quite good. However, they experienced an odd shortage of silverware. It seemed popular, but I don't see the draw exactly. Without good food, it's just another bar. read more
