Heard good things turned out to be very disappointing went for breakfast hashbrowns I think we're frozen and cooked to rock hard. Eggs Benedict eggs were almost hard boiled, Canadian bacon was sliced ham lunch meat. Bummer won't be going back for this $12 breakfast. read more

Great place to go if you like waiting forever for cold and season less food. Sat down and waited a good 10 minutes before anyone greeted us, someone finally came over and gave us menus and said our waitress would be with us in a few minutes. Once our waitress came over a few minutes later she took our order and we waited a good 40 minutes for our food to come out. My hash browns were cold and had no seasoning once I was able to try them after sending them back. The buttermilk pancakes were falling apart and tasted more like candy than pancakes. A friend recommended Canopy Road Cafe when I was in Tally for work, but I never made it by. I was searching yelp for a breakfast recommendation for myself, boyfriend, and an out of town guest. When this place popped up I got so excited because I thought I lost my shot. Did not disappoint at all. You have to go with patience because it's definitely not fast. The service is absolutely amazing though. It teetered on that line of being too attentive that it gets annoying, but they did it right and never crosseD that line. The food was amazing- we got something sweet to try as a table (photo) and it was amazing. I personally got the burrito and I'd definitely order it again. If you are tired of the same old mediocre breakfast place then come here. You get your money's worth and the portions you expect for a hungry person wanting breakfast. The menu is very unique and offers delicious spins on French toast, pancakes, Benedicts etc. very friendly staff and efficient service. Our second visit was rather disappointing and frustrating. We were advised the wait was 30-35 minutes if we wanted to sit inside and outside is a shorter wait. I informed the hostess that we will sit outside for the shorter wait. We waited about 25 minutes in the parking lot and decided to check with the hostess as to how much longer (so we don't miss being buzzed since we were a little far away from the hostess stand). One of the hostesses was very rude when my husband asked how much longer and was told it's another 20 minutes or so. She asked if we'd sit outside so my husband said yes. Excuse me but I already told the hostess I'll sit outside initially since she said it's 30-35 minutes for inside and shorter wait time for outside. And now they are asking us again if we would sit outside and telling us it's another 20 minutes to sit outside after more than 25 minutes had elapsed. And the second hostess was rather condescending when I asked how come it's another 20 minutes after we've waited more than 25 minutes for an outside table when she initially told me it's "30-35 minutes for inside and less for outside". She replied "seating people is not an exact science". I was rather irritated and pissed off at that point. Instead of apologizing and explaining, she was being very rude. I worked as a hostess the entire time I was in college. It's NOT racket science. Again, I know things happened and estimation could be a little off (there was no very big parties like a dinner at the Ale House or Carabba's). A little explaining and apologizing with a sincere tone would have sufficed. We spoke to the manager, Makala, who seated us and took our order. She was very good. We had the pleasure of enjoying lunch at Brandon's Canopy Road Cafe on a quiet Thursday afternoon. The menu is extensive and varied, focusing primarily on breakfast foods (omelets, Benedicts, pancakes,..) but with a nice selection of salads, sandwiches and burgers. My friend got the Dagwood, a huge club sandwich, and I opted for the Breakfast Monte Cristo. Both were excellent, with generous portions and tasty sides. Service was attentive, and prices are quite reasonable. My only real quibble was the lack of "real" lemonade. For a restaurant emphasizing home-style country cooking, serving Minute Maid lemonade is surprising. First time here. My wife came with my daughter in law previously. The wait was short and well worth it. The menu had so many excellent choice it was hard to decide. We were staying at the Hard Rock Hotel Casino and didn't want to stay in the smoke filled building for breakfast so we did a quick Yelp search and found Canopy Road... it wasn't exactly right around the corner, but ended up being more than worth the drive. Came here with my wife for breakfast on a Sunday. When we got there they said it was an hour wait. I asked if the bar was open seating and they said yes. When I got to the bar I was surprised at how few barstools were there, considering the amount of open room. I assumed it was for Covid. However, when I went to go out back there were four more barstools there. I asked if I could bring one up to the bar and they said, "unfortunately they are broken. Being a general contractor, I went back to investigate and found that it was only due to a few loose screws in the back rests. I took out my leatherman tool and fixed one and brought back to the bar for my wife to use while the lady next to us finished closing out her tab. Then a girl, I believe her name was McKayla, approached us and asked where we got the chair. I explained, and then she said they were broken and I told her I fixed it. She then said, "Well sorry, but I already promised the next available seat to a guy in a green shirt at the bar". I was confused. She said she was going to have to take it from us and give it to him. Lol. My wife and I looked at each other and started laughing. I said are you serious? She said yes. We walked away continuing our dumbfounded laughter in disbelief of what just happened. There were three more chairs in back that they could have fixed or asked me if I could help them fix etc. Instead she took my kind efforts for my lovely wife and stole them for someone else. Lol. Unbelievable lack of common sense. I asked the receptionist if I could speak with the manager and it was at that time she pointed out McKayla as being the manager. . We gave up and walked away. Total bummer. Even if they want to say they didn't want to have those chairs there due to short staff, it would not hold up to the fact that they were still serving people at the bar that were standing (like the guy in the green shirt). Absolutely poor management. We drove up from Bradenton to try this place. Total let down. There's no way we could stick around after being treated like that. Plus, bar seating is first come first serve, which means your not assisted by the staff. You work it out and place yourself near someone that looks like they are closing out. Otherwise you would put your name in with the bartender for the next seat. This women is out of her mind rude and apparently has no concept of bar seating. Sorry to be a spoiler, but Canopy Road Cafe serves rather ordinary food that you can get just about anywhere, without the nearly half hour wait for a table. It's brunch on a Sunday...one of us gets the cheesesteak. Barely enough meat on it to call it a sandwich. Bread to meat ratio, about 5 to 1, yuk. We also get 2 orders of french toast with banana, kiwi, strawberries...the fruit is cut up willy-nilly. Odd shape kiwi pieces of random size, banana pieces ranging from one inch of the pointed end, down to mini chunks, served with what seems to be some store brand syrup of some kind. A side order of what is supposed to be sausage links are not regular links, but rather a German sausage type product, split length wise. Lastly, an egg, bacon, cheese sandwich. Eggs cooked perfectly, but the bacon...yikes, this should not be called bacon...stringy, fatty, thin, barely edible. The so-called home fries...don't waste your time. They are awful. Nearly tasteless, deep fried bits. I mean, like really bad. The coffee was ok and refilled fairly regularly. We wanted to like it, but instead came away wondering why there was a line of people waiting to be seated as we left. read more

Very bad waiting time. Arrived at the place and wasn't seated until about a little more than an hour. The buzzer didn't buzz so we walked into the place after about an hour and 10 minutes and saw this family get seated as soon as they walked in. We didn't let that get to us since we waited so long just to eat. If you have a big party I suggest you call in way ahead of time. I was very excited about taking my children on a short road trip to Tampa to eat at this restaurant. My daughter had a veggie wrap. My son had a captain crunch French toast and I had a Jamaican Omelet with steak. All the food was Luke warm and the orders were wrong but we were the very last patrons for the day, so we chalked it all up to bad timing. Also we ate in a hurry realizing we were the only ones left. The wait for seating and to get our food was long but again we were giving grace and being understanding because we were the last to be seated. After leaving my son throw up a little bit, but we chalked that up to this was all we had to eat for the day and we ate in a bit of a hurry. WRONG! My son and daughter both had FOOD POISONING. my son so much that I had to take him to the emergency room when we returned back to Orlando, talk about a long ride back from Tampa! What's most distributing is my interactions via Facebook and email with Chris after sending my receipt $48 not including $6 tip (she was nice and very apologetic about the condition of the food ) and $250 co-pay for the ER visit. I am embarrassed to share how rude and disrespectful he was to me via email (I have screenshots of them for my records). I have looked through each review here and seen how the responses have been pretty to the point and every blue moon thoughtful and compensating. Anyhow after the disrespect, I have made a complaint to the food and drug administration as well as the better business bureau, I want to encourage anyone else who has had this experience and been meet with blatant disrespect to do the same at floridahealth.gov. If I could give negative I would especially after he tried to tried to tell me that vomiting and diarrhea does not mean food poisoning, anyone who has worked or seen a hospital report knows they always document the symptoms. Of course I would not recommend and to the other customers who have documented the experiences of seeing the cooks without mask. Thank you. This is my 3rd visit and again a disappointing one!!! I wanted a hot chocolate but asked if they were made with milk or water and she said water. I told her never mind. But she didn't even offer to make it with milk. They also can't make a poached. Also asked for avocado and didn't have any. We waited a while and the waitress was clueless to our needs. I see either the manger or owner walking with supplies he must have just picked up and suddenly after a long wait our breakfast arrives with avocado but super cold eggs. So, I asked them to get me freshly made eggs and I think the waitress forgot the eggs and again came back cold. Another bad example here. Perfect brunch spot! This service from Tina was amazing and the food came out very quickly but they didn't sacrifice the food quality either. We ordered one of those monthly specials which was the the Banana Nut Bread pancakes and we also got the avocado toast. The pancakes were huge and fluffy. However the toppings in the pancakes like the walnuts could be more evenly spread. The avocado on the toast was perfectly ripe and well seasoned. The eggs are poached nicely. Excellent all around!!! This is a little breakfast/brunch diner off of Faulkenburg/Causeway in a new shopping plaza. It's easy to miss driving by, but well worth the stop! I'm a stickler for cheese grits because most places don't do them right- but these cheese grits were soooo cheesy and creamy I couldn't believe how delicious it was! I had their croissant French toast which was out of this world...but I must try all their waffle/pancake creations as each one of them looks so special. I was amazed with the service too- we all sat at the bar since it was packed (on a Thursday morning btw), but we received great service none the less! The cooks in the back were working SO hard non-stop. I would have to say the cooks themselves were the most impressive out of the entire experience. Unfortunately, this was an underwhelming experience. A simple, solo breakfast that was horrible. After waiting a long period of time for a table and for my order, the food was cold and overcooked (eggs, turkey sausage, hash browns and rye toast). When I asked for my check after eating less than half of my plate the server didn't even question anything. Shame on me for not complaining to management and for paying full-price for terrible meal ($9.22). On another note, tables in front should have a barrier installed between eating customers and those waiting for tables. read more

When the food came I asked for syrup and butter for my waffle since the server didn't bring any and she never came back.
