Great experience with my partner on a fine Tuesday evening. Although busy, of course, but was able to spend time looking at the menu while we wait (about 30 mins). Our server was wonderful and we were seated outside patio area. It was semi-busy and loud outside but not as loud inside. I ordered 5 tacos with corn tortilla and all were delicious -- blackened scallops, street corn shrimp, sriracha shrimp, surf & turf and the chimi chimi banh bang. They were seasoned well, had robust flavors and nice complements of sauces with the meats. My partner had the Tuesday special which was pick 2 tacos and comes with a side of rice and beans. I ordered a virgin pomegranate Paloma and that was great as well -- sparkling grape soda with pomegranate and other flavors. I really wanted to like Cantina Louie. The inside is actually beautiful--the wall art is stunning, the space feels clean, and it definitely gives "this is about to be good" energy when you walk in. But the experience just didn't match the vibe. Service was slow, and not in the cozy, take-your-time way--more in the "is anyone coming back to our table?" way. And to make things worse, my friend found a hair in her food, which instantly took us out of the moment. Mistakes happen, but it definitely colored the rest of the meal. As for the food... the presentation looked great, but everything tasted pretty bland. The flavors just didn't hit like you'd expect from a place that looks this fun and lively. I really enjoyed this place! I got carryout from here first and went with the cantina quesadilla which were yummy. My second time enjoying it here was dine in on a Thursday. They have different daily specials, Thursdays are $6.99 jalapeño margaritas and they were good! The enchiladas supreme were tasty, you get a combination of 3 enchiladas filled with different things, rice, and beans. The mahi taco honestly was not good, the fish seemed over cooked and the flavor just wasn't there. I was really hoping to get some mexican street corn, however that is only available on Saturdays and Sundays so I will just have to come back to try that! There are several of these in the Jacksonville area. It had an interesting vibe of skulls and skeletons. We were seated right away and our server came quickly to get our drink order. Specialty cocktails are discounted on Tuesday's if that matters to you. Beware the iced tea is not brewed, it is bag in a box soda style tea. I really don't like that stuff. I had the tacos, $2.99 each on Tuesday which makes 3 specialty tacos cheaper than the plate with 2 tacos even after I added a side of beans. I chose the sirrachi shrimp, mahi and grouper tacos. Everything was fried. I expected the shrimp and grouper would be but mahi is usually grilled. They were all very good. Each had a unique flavor and garnish. Nothing traditional about any of them. The lace had just opened and my husband and I decided to eat outside because it was such a beautiful day after doing a charity walk. The inside is beautiful too with walls painted of famous people. The enchiladas were okay. The ground beef enchilada was kind of forgettable, the shredded chicken was dry, the cheese enchilada was by far the best. I would have preferred all 3 to be cheese. The rice was fluffy and the refried beans were pretty good. Overall, a decent lunch spot. I would give them another try in a pinch. read more

Of course, they have Mexican beers and Margaritas. They have a plethora of unique food offerings. Saturdays and Sundays they offer fresh tamales which are excellent. Make sure to ask for their various salsas. If you like it hot and spicy, order the habanero salsa. They offer fantastic unique tacos which you can mix and match. Big burritos are excellent as well. We acknowledged we had a big group and told the seating staff we would be fine with two tables or booths. We waited almost an hour and when someone in our party asked about the wait we were told that they could not tell us how long seating would be inside or outside. This is the Cantina Louie near my house and my go to. It is "basic Caucasian" Mexican food but I always carry my favorite hot sauce with me so a couple drops of that and perfecto! The reason I decided to write a review this time is because of our waiter. Ray B went above and beyond and I had to give a shout out. He told me the margarita special of the night was the Undertaker and that most people got it without the charcoal so I took his advice. When my cousin ordered the Quesabirria tacos Ray let him know they were carnitas and made sure that was ok. He then made sure that cilantro was ok. I do not remember the last time a wait staff has provided so much info and made sure we were good with things. Ray is now the reason I'll keep going and not just location. I hadn't been to this Cantina Louie location yet. I loved all the blue agave plants leading up to the entrance. Sitting outside wasn't an option as it had been muggy and rainy so we sat inside at a big booth right by the door. Looks similar to Every other location, but what made it stand out for me is wall with celebrities on it. I loved that wall. The tribute to Chadwick Boseman and Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia touched my heart. We ordered their Taquitos (fried corn tortillas stuffed with chicken, topped with sour cream, fresh lime pico de gallo, guac, and queso fresco) as an appetizer. Mom loved these and had been having a hard time finding them again outside of the freezer aisle. They were good but could use was less toppings for my taste. I had a Tamarindo beverage (tamarind, water, and sugar) and ordered the Enchiladas Supreme (one ground beef, one shredded chicken, one cheese enchilada, each in a corn tortilla, topped with red sauce, queso fresco, lettuce, tomato, and sour cream) with a side of rice and beans. I'm happy my mom found a place to get taquitos. She had really been missing them. I must've been really hungry because I polished off my drink and all my food easily. The enchiladas were just good. I think more sauce and way less toppings (again) would have made them better. Mom had the Cantina Quesadillas (flour tortilla stuffed with cheese and grilled chicken, pastor salsa, poblano salsa, and sour cream). She wasn't digging the poblano sauce as the heat sneaks up on you so she gave it to me, but other than that she enjoyed the quesadilla. normally i try not to write bad reviews but i visited yesterday (6/5/25) and was really thrown off by my experience . i've ordered online from here before and not had issues. but let me just say during my dine in experience the tacos were gross & not very appetizing. they looked poorly thrown together and rushed. the quality of the food just felt cheap. we barely saw our waitress other than taking our order & dropping the check. i don't know if it's bc we are young but i literally work in the service industry myself and still left 20% of the bill, which i feel like was not deserved. especially for food that was inedible and poor service. i have to say i wont be returning.
